The truth it's hard to accept most of times because you know to yourself that you'll struggle a lot cause of it, Near already confessed at the ice cream parlor to himself that he likes L more than a friend and its driving him mad he's currently at the toy section in a shop that they went to he was secretly glancing at L
Who was curiously looking at...magazines? Hmm
If you're wondering where mello is well He's staring at near formulating a plan to prank near to get his revenge he wasn't mad at near but he also didn't want to let it slide...
"I got an idea" mello mumbled smirking he was gonna trick near into thinking that there were many other toys over to a section quite far from where him and L were then he's gonna ask L to 'help' him get something
But the truth is he's gonna be secretly hiding him so that near thinks they left without him.
He started to walk towards near smiling at him near looked up (cause he was sitting on the ground while looking at toys) "hello mello" near said "hi near so I was walking around the store and I saw another section and they had lots of legos and gundam toys and other things thought you might want to check it out...it's a bit far from this section though"
..okay near wasn't one to believe people easily but the child inside of him wanted to check it out so he got up "where is it?"
"Just walk straight on the left and you'll see it"
Near nodded then started walking over to where mello said
He smirked then went over to L "hey L can you help me I saw this chocolates that I like but they're too high up" he said L looked at mello "okay" L said then followed mello to wherever the chocolates he liked is

Near sighed he couldn't find that section that Mello pointed out and he really wanted to check it because he might find something "where the heck are those toys " he mumbled almost pouting
He walked a bit farther and glanced at every section that he came upon on he was already at the end of the store really far from L and mello
Then it hit him "ughhh he tricked me!!" He groaned mentally face palming
Near decided to just go back to where he was hoping to god that they were still there he twirled his hair while walking looking around just in case they see them "god mello is so horrible" he mumbled under his breath again glaring at the floor when he got to where they were awhile ago he saw they were gone "great they're not here" he said sarcastically
He huffed annoyed his emotionless persona disappeared
You can really see the annoyance in his eyes he was really pissed off so he decided to look for them again he was so focused on looking around he didn't even know that where was a large cart that was headed towards him
"Kid look out!" A guy yelled
Near looked he saw the cart that was filled with Stuff he couldn't point out what because he was so shock he couldn't even move im gonna die he thought
Just then he felt someone wrap their arms around him and pulled him away from the fast moving cart him and the mystery person fell on the ground groaning especially near because he hit his head "god, near L are you alright?" Mello asked genuinely worried
.. Wait L? He looked up at the person who was still holding him and it was L! l's eyes were wide he looked really worried they were bought scared at what happened "a-are you alright near?"
The boy nodded "yes...thanks for saving me"
"No problem now where in the world were you again?"
Near looked down mello stepped up "it's my fault!"
"What?"
"I wanted to prank him to get revenge for what happened awhile ago so I told him there were many other toys over to the far section and then I'll make you come with me somewhere so when he gets back he thinks we left him....I'm sorry I didn't mean for that to happen" mello said looking down
"Near you shouldn't have done that revenge isn't the answer was the cart your idea too?"
Mello shook his head"no" he said quickly then he looked at near
"I'm very sorry near"
"Its fine...I think I just want to go home now " he mumbled looking down L unwrapped his arms and nodded in agreement they all just decided to go home this was all an eventful day... Especially for near
Is this all a coincidence or am I just really bad luck? He thought frowning

The moment they got back to the orphanage near went straight to his room without saying a word to anyone L told mello that He's gonna be busy and he doesn't want to be disturbed in his room and "don't do that again"
Mello sighed then went to find matt when he did find him matt was playing his gameboy "hey matt" he mumbled sitting next to his friend
"Yo bro what's up you look so down"
"Near almost got ran over by a psychotic cart because of me"
Matt bursted out laughing "seriously what happened?" Mello glared at matt
"Well if you must know I wanted to get revenge on him for kinda humiliating me but it ended up someone almost getting hurt now I think he's really upset with me he was so shocked awhile ago and I know how much scared he is on physical contact"
"What do you mean? Like sex?"
"How the heck does almost getting ran over a cart connect with sex?! What I mean is whenever he feels dangerous contact with his skin or something like getting hurt he remembers his parents and he remembers almost getting killed that's why he spent so many times with the psychiatrist remember?" Mello said
"Well isn't that kind of good? The more he gets traumatized and other crap the more his mind drifts off and he'll be so wrecked he won't be able to do good in our classes or anything anymore " matt told him
Mello looked at him "i don't want that if I'm gonna be Ryuzaki's successor then i want to win fair and square how can you even suggest that? That's a bit rude even for you"
Matt shrugged "sorry just feel a bit off right now"
"I noticed that now help me make near kind of like me again"
"Why?"
"Because I won't be able to live with myself knowing my first and only crush hates me.."

Near was inside his room there was an unbearable pain on his head right now he felt like it was gonna explode he held unto it while sitting on his bed he wanted it to be gone because once people find out something is wrong with him he'll go straight to the infirmary for the 343 time he'd been there so much he already memorized every single detail of the room
From the kind of tiles on the floor and to what texture the wall is and he knows the exact width and just everything
He couldn't bare it anymore he really wanted to smash his head and just kill himself right now because of his head he didn't even know why it hurts so much he's worried because he knows this won't end up good.
An unwelcome tear came out from his eyes "ughhh it hurts so bad" he murmured
Just then there was a knock on his door he tried so hard to compose himself and he was surprised that he did he slowly stood up shakily and opened the door he saw matt smiling at him "hey near so uhm I need you to come with me like right now"
"I-i-i can't at the moment I'm uh b-bit busy" he stuttered out
Matt shook his head he knew near wouldn't go so since he's taller than near he carried near and put him on his shoulder "hey! Matt put me down"
"No can do snow white you're coming with me "
Near groaned he really wasn't in the right state of mind to fight back so he just let matt carry him to wherever even though his head was still hurting like hell..
When they got to mello's room matt dropped near on the ground gently and just stood by the door with his arms crossed near looked up and saw mello infront of him "uh h-hi so you might be wondering why we kidnapped you to my room I just wanted to give you something...to make you not hate me for awhile go"
Mello handed near a box that was wrapped up with blue gift wrapper near took it and shook it "what is it?"
"I know how much you love puzzles so I made you one it has a picture of you me and L" he mumbled near's head was still hurting like hell but he still did the unexpected he wrapped his arms around mello's neck and....hugged him
Matt gasped and mello blushed both were shocked but mello hugged back
"I really am sorry..."
"Its fine but whatever happens always remember that what happened is not your fault okay? I really appreciate this"
He felt mello nod a bit then they both pulled away near turned around and walked out "I'll see you guys later" he said then glanced at matt and mello and gave them a small pained smile and walked off
He went to his room and locked the door and placed the gift on his table then laid on his bed he knew what he was feeling on his head was not normal he felt the pain growing and he felt his body giving up he slowly closed his eyes then everything went dark

"H-he he smiled at me...he smiled near the one who barely shows emotion smiled at me" mello mumbled shocked
Matt rolled his eyes "yeah yeah now hows about we play a game?"
"Nah I'm a bit shocked right now maybe later" mello replied to his best friend matt groaned then decided to just walk out "fine.."
And once he was out he looked down "oh mello when are you gonna figure out that there's a person right here who actually likes you and makes you happy..."
