Another three months pass. I'm pent up and sexually frustrated, and Liam and I won't stop arguing.

We literally have been arguing for two months straight.

We try to plan things, but one of us will get called into work or assigned a test. He hardly messahes me back now, and if he does, we argue. I haven't even heard his voice over the phone in a month and a half. I'm at work, bitching to Willow.

"Yes! And then he had the nerve to ask me so what? Do you not want to see me?" I huff. "I was like, well of course I want to see you. It's just, we never have time for each other anymore."

"I haven't seen my family, I haven't seen Liam.

I've seen nobody.

I'm horny, lonely, and sad.

It's not fucking fair.

Now at work, my boss always has on the radio.

So I'm sitting talking to willow, and a song comes on, and I start to tune it out, but the words hit me hard.

Call your girlfriend

It's time you had the talk

Give your reasons

Say it's not her fault

But you just met somebody new

Tell her not to get upset, second-guessing everything you said and done

And then when she gets upset tell her how you never mean to hurt no one

Then you tell her that the only way her heart will mend is when she learns to love again

And it won't make sense right now but you're still her friend

And then you let her down easy

Call your girlfriend

It's time you had the talk

Give your reasons

Say it's not her fault

But you just met somebody new

What if Liam found somebody better?

I've never cried over this situation.

I just haven't.

But for some reason, tears start to fall slowly down my face.

What if he found someone.

I bury my head in my hands.

All my work friends move closer.

"Abby." Willow whispers.

"I can't do it anymore!" I shake my head.

It's kinda quiet.

Nobody knows what to say.

And then fucking the worst thing happens.

The song ends, and Liam and I's song, the one from high school comes on.

The best thing about tonight's that we're not fighting

Could it be that we have been this way before

I know you don't think

That I am trying

I know you're wearing thin down to the core

But hold your breath

Because tonight will be the night that I will fall for you

Over again

Don't make me change my mind

R I won't live to see another day

I swear it's true

Because a girl like you is impossible to find,

You're impossible to find

I fucking lose it.

The slow tears turn to sobs.

"This was our fucking song!" I choke out before I walk to the bathroom.

WILLOWS POV

I've been best friends with Abby since September. It's so sad to watch the light slowly fade from her eyes. It reappears after she sees Liam, but it's been three months.

And I can't sit around with her this depressed.

The second the door shuts behind her, I snatch her phone up.

Everyone looks upset.

Nobody says anything.

I unlock it and go through her contacts.

And I dial Liam.

I've never spoken to him. I don't know what his voice sounds like.

It rings three times.

"Hello?"

"Hi."

There's a short pause.

"Who is this?"

"This is Willow."

"Oh..." He sounds confused.

"Look, I hate to get involved and I know damn well that it's not only you, but your girlfriend or fiancé or whatever is in the bathroom hysterically crying. Some song came on and she's been really upset. I don't know how to help her anymore."

"She's crying?" he asks quietly.

"Yes."

"Oh...okay."

He hangs up.

What.

The.

Fuck.

I'm going to murder him.

<><>

Around a half hour later, the elevator opens and somebody walks out.

He's really attractive and he's dressed in jeans and a blue button down.

His eyes scan the room, and then he walks over to us.

"Do you guys know an Abigail?"

I raise my eyebrows.

Slowly, my eyes drift to the picture frame on Abby's desk. She's with Liam.

I study the face of the guy in the photo and the face of the guy in front of me.

He looks exahusted, stressed, and depressed.

But it's him.

"Yeah, I know her."

"You do?" He asks.

His eyes land on the phone in my hand.

"Wait, you're Willow." He says.

"Yeah." I say quietly.

He sighs.

"What song came on?"

"I don't know. One was about a girl telling a guy to call his girlfriend and tell her they were breaking up, and then she got a little sad and was crying a little bit. Then the song changed to Fall for You by Secondhand Serenade."

He looks upset.

"Where is she?"

"She's in the bathroom. You should wait till she's ready though."

"Right." He nods.

So he goes and sits down at her desk and we kinda go to what we were doing.

After another twenty minutes, I hear the bathroom door closing.

"Willow, I think I'm gonna go home." I hear Abby say quietly.

I peek my head over her cubicle just as she rounds the corner.

Her jaw drops a little bit at the sight of Liam in her chair.

Her eyes are red with tears.

She bites her lip and covers her mouth.

She starts sobbing.

I don't really like Liam. Then again, I don't know him, but right now I don't like him.

I'm worried that Abby loves a bad person.

Until right now.

His eyebrows crease and he stands up, pulling her into his arms. She's clinging to him wadding his shirt in her hands.

One of his arms is around her and on her back and the other hand is tangled in her hair. He's whispering to her.

ABBY'S POV

I can't stop crying.

He's starts to whisper.

"Abby, I know. I know we've been arguing a lot, but don't ever doubt my love for you. I love you more than anything. You're my world." He turns me to my chair and sits me down, squatting in front of me. Everyone is looking over at us because I always talk about him but they've never met him. He rests his hands on my thighs. "I'm not mad at you. I don't hate you. I'm not breaking up with you. Just, when I don't answer, it's not because I don't want to talk to you. It's because I don't want to fight with you. I love you so, so much, babes. I'm sorry I haven't been around much. When I look around me, all I want is for you to be there. I don't care if it's just us going shopping at the same time, or me coming over at eleven and sleeping and then leaving. I'm so sorry, Abby."

He looks so frustrated with himself.

"It's okay. It's not only you, Liam."

"I know. I just don't like arguing." He laughs nervously.

"I'd rather argue with you than not talk to you at all." I say softly.

He frowns, thinking.

"I didn't think about it like that." He whispers.

It's quiet for a long time.

Nobody really knows what to say.

"When do you have to leave?" I ask.

"I don't." He says. "I left work early because Willow called me and told me you were crying, and I don't have any classes."

I take a deep breath.

He's mine for the rest of the day.

I look at the time.

It's only three.

"I don't get out of here until five." I frown.

"It's okay."

"You don't have to sit here."

"I want to. I can be patient."

"Okay." I shrug.

So, I start working again, filling out paperwork.

He sits there on his phone, but every time I look up to see him, which I catch myself doing like, once every two minutes, he's looking at me.

I look up. He smiles and raises his eyebrows.

I shake my head, my cheeks heating up. Letting out a small sigh, I go back to my work.

"Liam, you don't have to sit here." I say after twenty minutes of this.

"I want to be with you." He says.

I shrug and continue working.

He looks so attractive in his jeans and button down. Button downs always hug his body and strain against his muscles.

I need to get fucked so badly.

He looks up after a minute of me staring at him.

I look away, blushing.

My work phone begins to ring. I pick it up. It's just a actual house phone. Like the black ones they have in classes to call the office.

"Hello?"

"Hey Abby. It's Claire."

She's the receptionist.

"Oh okay." I trail off

"I'm just calling because, well, I know about Liam. Practically everyone here knows about him."

"Yeah, I know. What about him?"

"Well, I've never met him and I let a guy up there and he hasn't come down yet and I was wondering if the guy I let up was him."

I laugh softly. "Did Cory make you call?"

Cory is my boss.

"Yeah, kinda. But we're all wanting to know."

"Yeah, it's him."

"Oh. Oh shit. Cory, it's him!"

I hear a lot of noise in the background.

"Abby, Cory said it's slow so we can all go home."

"Oh, okay. I'll let everyone know."

We hang up.

"Cory said we can leave."

We all shut down everything and take the elevator.

<><>

We had a lot of sex that night, and I called in to work since my class isn't until tonight.

I'm lying in his arms on the couch.

"Abby," he whispers. "Aaron is sending me on a business trip to Alaska for four months."

I tense.

"Why?"

"Some store is fucking up and he wants me to manage it. I'm continuing school online."

"Liam...we just struggled for three months being ten minutes from each other."

"I know."

"How are we going to last being like, two countries apart?"

He grabs my left hand and moves the promise ring into my eyesight.

"I'm always here. I'm just one phone call away."
