The Poet's Frenzy

On hot summer days,
With nothing to do,
And the lonely nights
Where sleep evades me,
My mind grows restless,
A slave to my heart.
It forms words that are
Impossible to contain.
I write out these words
In a maddening frenzy,
Feeling my heart lighten,
With every word,
Every thought,
Every feeling expressed.
