A lot of times during the night I would wake up sobbing. But Cade was always there to comfort me. He usually just had to tell me everything was okay and that would make me go back to sleep.
Then at 2:34 am. I woke up screaming. Cade rolled over to my side of the bed.
"It's okay," he told me, "every thing is going to be all right." But it didn't help this time. I kept on crying and soon my breaths got really fast. If Cade didn't do some thing soon, I was going to start hyperventilating.
Cade rolled me over so I was facing him.
"Deep breaths," he said, "Just follow my breathing. I followed the sound of his voice and the feeling of his chest rising and falling. Soon, my breathing was the same as Cade's.
"Thanks," I replied. Cad gave me a quick hug and kiss on the cheek, and then I was fast asleep.
After that, I didn't wake up again.
