The bus slowed to a stop as it approached Spongebob's house. Both Spongebob and Patrick got off and watched the bus leave to take Fred home.
".. I had a great weekend, Patrick." said Spongebob, looking up at his friend. He wanted so badly to tell him how he truly felt, but he just.. couldn't.
"Me too." was all Patrick said. They stared at each other for a little while before Spongebob sighed. "Well, bye, Patrick."
"Bye, Spongebob."
Spongebob regretted saying bye as soon as Patrick walked out of the door. "Why is this so hard?" he asked himself, looking into the bathroom mirror as a tear rolled down the side of his face. He felt alone.
"Gary." he said out loud to himself. How could he have forgotten about Gary? The one who has always been there for him. Was he that caught up in thinking about Patrick?
He ran quickly to Squidward's house to retrieve his beloved snail.
Squidward opened the door.
"Thank you, Squidward!"
"Just don't forget, we had a deal." said Squidward who could tell that there was something wrong with Spongebob. He just didn't seem to be as annoying as usual.
"Alright." Spongebob said as he turned to walked back to his house.
