"Can we go home now?-" she ran a hand through her hair. "I'm hungry, and I really want the sushi roll you make." she said in a playful voice while looking at me out of one eye. I smiled widely at her request and nodded my head excitedly.

"Of course!"

....

"I can't believe those four idiots are still picking on you." Sora sighed heavily as we walked out of the school's front door. She held the door open for me as I just smiled at her statement. Usually I tired to avoid talking about my bullying situations with her, since she usually just ends up getting really worked up and hunting down whoever said anything. I swear if it were up to her, I would still be home-schooled and probably wouldn't be around anyone my age. That's how it has been my entire life, well, our entire lives; she and I were always home-schooled by private tutors. We were raised to believe it was safer for us, and even if we are no longer at the Main house, I know Sora wasn't too happy about me pushing to join a public school. Honestly I think the only thing keeping her from forcing me to stay home with her, is my enjoyment of other people. It was nice talking with friends that I make, especially since we were still semi 'new' here; we've only been here for about five or six months, so until another person shows up from another place, then we were stuck as the 'new kids'. This is the second time we've been labeled 'new kids', the first time didn't go over so well and honestly just thinking about it left a bitter taste in my mouth.

"You know, they probably wouldn't bother you so much, if you stopped trying to be friendly with that boy from this morning; he's nothing but trouble. Him and his supposed cousin. And even that girl that was with them." she shook her head with a blank look on her face while she stared at something up at the front gate of the school.

Looking down at the ground while thinking over her words I nodded my head, she was right, the 'Yuki Fan-club' probably would leave me alone if I stopped attempting to talk to him; but what kind of life is that? Literally not being able to speak to anyone because girl's won't allow people to speak to you? Not being able to make friends because someone else is calling the shots? That's no way to live life; I know that one first hand. Well, my sister and I both know how that feels first hand.

"So, I should stop trying to make friends with Yuki, all because somebody has a problem with it?" I questioned with a darker voice making Sora stare at me with an unknown expression. "That just sounds way too familiar." I mumbled out before looking up to see Sora was back to looking at something at the gate; I realized that I had stopped walking moments ago when I was lost in my thoughts. Looking forward confused as to what she was staring at, I saw Yuki leaning against the pillar seeming to be waiting for someone. He was most likely waiting for Torhu, but it wouldn't hurt to say hello since we were going to pass by him anyways. Those stupid fangirls aren't going to beat me that easily, it's only polite to say hello.

"Speak of the Devil and he shall appear. Go on ahead, I'm sure you would like to say hello." she shook her head disappointingly but shooed me away before walking slower so she fell behind a bit, I watched her for a few seconds before I nodded my head. My guess is she was going to wait behind us while he and I talked; she tired her best to be welcoming when it counted; I guess I should be thankful for that much. She tried hard to make me happy, even if went against her better judgement sometimes and for that I'm forever thankful. Taking my sister's advice, I quickly sped up my steps holding my school bag in front of my legs with both hands. I watched his face as he seemed to notice me; the purple haired boy gave me his signature 'Prince Yuki' smile as I got closer.

"Hello there, Miss. Hanajima." he spoke softly with a closed eyed smile. Immediately my heart began beating faster, but it probably wasn't beating faster for the same reason as other girls; I absolutely hated when people gave out fake facial expressions, and he was a master. It was an annoying pet-peeve of mine but something about his always pulled at my chest. I can see his pain even if he could hide it very well; it wasn't something that was hard to see whenever you've lived your life behind a fake persona as well.

"Hiya Yuki, you waiting for Miss. Torhu?" I smiled brightly at him, keeping my usual positive personality, even if I truly did want to call him out on his strange behavior. If he wants to hide behind a fake smile, then I'll allow him to do so; I don't know him well enough to demand answers, or push myself into his life more than I already have.

"Well actually, I was waiting for you and your sister. Since we seem to live in the same direction, I thought it would be nice for us to walk home together." he smiled again, it was a kind suggestion on his part. Perhaps I have become a friend to him after all. However, a image of a smiling dark haired girl floated passed my mind and I was suddenly curious. He never left the school building without her, and it's not like I'm complaining; Torhu Honda is a wonderful girl, but I couldn't help but wonder where she could be.

"I think that would be a wonderful idea, but where's Miss Torhu? Is she not walking home with us?" I looked up at the pale eyed boy and watched as a genuinely surprised expression took over his features before it was followed by a true smile. Feeling a little intimidated by it's beauty, I flashed a quick smile in return before looking back to where Sora was sitting on one of the school benches reading one of her books. That's one thing my sister does thoroughly enjoy, she loves to read, but right now, I would much rather her be up in my face being a her normal buzzkill self to break the weird atmosphere. Glancing back at Yuki, I saw that the happy expression was still resting on his features while he looked off in the distance for a moment.

"So, um, are we waiting for her, or?" I tried to carry on with my question without making direct eye contact, but I still caught a glimpse of a disappointed expression take hold for just a moment before he shook his head. "Miss Honda went home with my cousin Kyo earlier today; she wasn't feeling well."

"Hey Sora, Yuki wants to walk home with us!" I called to her and got her normal unenthusiastic reply which was a simple nod of her head. To some that would seem cold, but that just was how my sister was; that is how she was groomed to behave as a child. With a sad sigh I turned back to Yuki and smiled.

"Sora will follow behind us while she reads her book. She's not much of a social person." I shrugged my shoulders and chuckled nervously when Yuki watched Sora read for a few moments. Maybe he had really wanted to talk to her and not me?  A deep pang hit my chest making my smile falter before he looked down at me once more.

"I haven't disturbed your daily routine too much have I?" he asked seeming genuinely concerned he had upset Sora and I's normal day. Was that why he had been watching Sora? To see if she were upset?

"Oh no, don't worry about it." I smiled, this boy was certainly too kind for his own good. He smiled at that and so did I before we began walking away from the school gates.

The whole walk was pretty uneventful, Yuki and I talked majority of the time about class work and ideas for our futures. Sora trailed behind us the whole time with her nose in her book, but I know she was constantly glancing up at us. She was giving us our privacy in her own way, and I couldn't be more grateful; honestly I couldn't have gotten a better sister.

We continued walking down the trail that apparently connected to Yuki's house as well; I had thought it was strange since when we first moved out here Sora had made sure we had no neighbors before she bought our house. She's the heiress to our families companies, so money has never been a problem for us; it's unfair to most I know, but that's just how our lives are. My sister inherited everything from money, to power, to debt, when she turned eighteen. Being the first born of the family had its perks, but it also had it's drawbacks; in our family the drawbacks outweigh the perks by thousands. Seeing the small branched off trail that leads to our house come into view I smiled at Yuki and stopped just in front of it when we got there.

"Well, this is us.-" I nervously blew a hair out of my face and noticed he was trying to see our house from where we were standing. Unfortunately the large beautiful home isn't visible from the road, something Sora had also made sure of before she bought it for us. "It was really nice walking home with you." he finally looked down at me and smiled again; this time it was genuine which made my heart swell with pride. He had dropped one of his walls with me, maybe we really could be friends.

"It was wonderful walking with you as well Miss. Hanajima." he said formally and only looked away when the Sora came to stand beside me with her nose still in her book. She only looked up when I cleared my throat, I wanted her to say something nice to the boy and be friendly; though I wasn't expecting much. She had a rough time trusting people. Sora slowly looked from me to him before sighing and snapping her book shut.

"Thank you for walking her home today, pretty boy." she said not sounding friendly at all; my plan had back fired dramatically. But to my surprise Yuki smiled widely and nodded his head to her; his smile had also been genuine with her as well. I opened my mouth to say something else but the sound of clapping cut me off. Everyone glanced around at the surrounding woods confused and on guard. Sora had shoved me behind her when she located the sound being a man emerging from the woods. He wore all black with a bright red image of our family crest resting on the chest of his padded shirt. He looked to be very muscular since his shoulders were wide and his neck was thick with muscle. He looked strong.

I felt a prick in my eyes making me gasp, the feeling was something I knew to fear; it meant Sora had exposed the 'power' she had inherited when she turned ten years old. It was really a curse. When threatened, Sora will activate the hidden power in her eyes which will allow her to read every movement her opponent could make, they also show her their weaknesses, and they have the power to stun her foe when she masters it completely.

They're known as the 'demon eyes'. Something that has been passed down through generations.

Usually they only awaken in the eyes of the eldest first born of the family, but because Sora and I are fraternal twins the power had also appeared in my eyes as well. My sister's eyes are superior, however, I have her abilities as well although they are not as strong as hers. This particular drawback did however have one plus, my eyes mutated and created a power of my very own; I can read bits of an opponents thoughts and their future. Sora must feel very threatened by this man since she has already exposed our greatest secret.

I glanced over at Yuki who looked to be on guard as well; when we made eye contact the young boy gasped and looked concerned. Confused flooded my being for the briefest of seconds before I remembered; my sister and I were 'freaks'. We weren't normal. Even in our clan we were labeled as freaks because our power split and mutated.

My sisters regular light purple eyes turn to a bight red color while mine turn stark white when our curse is active. Apparently my eyes are too special, the mutation in them is something our family had never seen before in all the heiresses. Sora and I were the first living twins to ever survive the curse, and the first that were gifted with it's split power. With that being said, the head of our house at the time, my uncle, became greedy and had ordered for my execution under the impression that the new mutated power would transfer to his children when they become of age. My sister would live out her life as the head of the family until her own execution date, which would ensure her power would be passed on as well. However, Sora refused to accept that, and on her eighteenth birthday as the current head of the household she ruled to have our uncle exiled; unfortunately he had too many connections with other distant members of our family and in turn we were exiled ourselves. We've been on the run since. We ran, and took our families curse with us; ever since then assassins have been sent with the intent to kill us on sight. Well Sora, they were to kill my sister on sight.

Judging by the thick patches of our family crest on this mans uniform I would assume he's another hired gun; part of our family's military. I pity him since Sora is undefeated in martial arts; not only because of the benefits of the curse, but because she's trained harder than anyone to prove herself as head of the family.
