Chapter 22: Teach Or Else
"Gohan... As the Golden-Haired Warrior? Come on Videl, you can't be serious?" I say while shaking my boyfriend's arm in the hopes that Videl would see him as too wimpy to be a strong hero.
"Be quiet! I know what I heard!" Videl's left fist formed into a ball, "You're the guy whose been getting his business in my work!"
Ugh... Didn't work...
Gohan placed his hands up in front of him and laughed nervously as a bead of sweat trickled down his temple.
"Videl I-"
Immediately, Videl grabs at his shirt and coldly glares at him.
"Super Saiyan whatever! Does you hair turn blonde and eyes turn blue when you enter that state?!"
"I don't know wha-"
Videl pulls my boyfriend closer to her and wouldn't back away, "Stop lying! I caught you two red handed! Considering that I've witnessed Tania's fighting abilities before hand, I'm very sure of myself that she is that woman companion that usually aids you in battles against criminals. Am I right?!"
For the first time, I was beginning to get very agitated with Videl's actions. I don't know why, but ever since that dream... I just can't stop feeling super sensitive.
"Stop it already, Videl! Keep your hands off my b- Gohan!" I snap.
"With pleasure." The pigtailed girl pushes Gohan back a little then jumps backwards. She tightened her black gloves afterwards and got into a stance, "I'll just have to let my frustration and irritation out on you! You guys lied straight to my face!"
I step forward, punch my balled up fist into my other open hand and angrily say, "You better watch what you say and stay out of our business before I-"
"Woaaaaahh!" Gohan cuts in between Videl and I with his arms out to prevent us from brawling, "That's enough you two! Can't we all just get along?! Aren't we all friends?!"
"Get out the way!" Videl and I yell simultaneously while staring dead into one another's eyes.
Suddenly, Gohan turned to me and grasped my shoulders.
"Calm down, Tania. Please!"
"But Gohan, Videl's-"
My boyfriend gives me a very stern look that perturbed me greatly. I smack his hand off my shoulders.
"You know what, Videl?! You're right! You're absolutely right! Gohan and I are the superheroes in town who does all the fantastic work that you could never hope to accomplish! We can fly, move quicker than sound, blast ki waves, and fight with superhuman strength!" I practically scream in her face.
I could feel my knuckles lusting to throw a hit at something or someone. Waiting to just release all its power.
I was so mad that I could feel a migraine making its grand entrance. Before I could potentially hurt someone I didn't need to, I run and jump off the roof then fly full speed elsewhere right in front of the pigtailed-hair girl.
I need to clear my head!
GOHAN'S P.O.V
"TANIAAA!" I cry out for my girlfriend as she once again took off.
I groan internally.
Man, she's super mad! I don't think even I would be able to calm her down right now.
"Gohan!"
I turn around. Videl was still very close to me but had her arms crossed.
"Why didn't you tell me about all of this?" She asks
There was no hiding what had already been seen.
"We didn't want anyone to know. We would get too much attention and our family values privacy. I'm sorry about all the mess, Videl." I apologize.
"Is that true?"
I nod my head, "Of course."
The petite girl points at me, "You're not hiding anything else important that I should know are you?!"
"What do you mean?"
"A few of our friends assume that you and Tania aren't actually cousin's and that you two are dating... Is that true?"
Oh no... How do I get myself out of this one without lying?
"I don't know why they would think that but Tania and I are really close." I attempt to move my way around a direct answer.
Videl makes a face but doesn't pressure me to give a better answer.
"I should let everyone know about this since they're dying to know the identity of you and Tania."
"Noo! Please don't."
"I don't know." She walks around.
"I'll do anything." I say.
"Anything?"
I realize that I should've not said what I did. I didn't reply.
"You guys can fly. I'm a bit jealous about it. I wanna learn and you're gonna teach me!"
"That's all?! You just wanna learn to fly."
"That's right!" Videl answers, "If you do, I'll keep my mouth shut about you guys. So how bout it? Will you teach me."
"All right, fine..." I give in.
"Great! I'll be at your house first thing after school tomorrow or the day after. See ya then!"
"You wanna learn that soon?! Can't this wait till the weekend at least?"
Videl shook her head and took out a capsule and tossed it. Her jet copter made its entrance. She waved at me before hopping in the vehicle and taking off.
"I'n heading off to a great restaurant with a few of my friends who just got do with their college classes. I'll see you later." She says.
I wait for her to be out of sight then try and locate Tania with Instant Transmission. I find her ki and zip to wherever it led me.
I find her already at home in her room. She was laying on her bed with her face in her pillow. Chica was laying next to her, putting her head on top of Tania's. I sit softly on her bed and the puppy came running towards me.
"Chica..." I lift her up only for her to lick my face all over.
"Arf!" She barks.
"Yeah, I'm happy to see you two." I smile before setting her outside the room, "I need a little time alone with Tania, can you play with Dad or Goten?"
"Arf!" She wags her tail then leaves.
"Thanks!"
I close the door then sat back on the bed.
"Hey..." I gently speak to my girlfriend, "You doing alright?"
"No." She answers to my surprise.
"Why did you blast off like that? I thought you were used to Videl trying to figure us out...? Normally, you're more composed."
"I know but... I still feel sensitive and besides... I didn't like how she yanked onto your shirt."
My shirt?
I take a deep breath then rub Tania's back.
"You're still not really over that dream, huh?"
"No..." Tania whimpers.
"Well-"
"Gohaaan! Are you here?!" I hear Dad call my name from downstairs.
"I'll be right back. Dad wants me." I say to Tania before heading halfway down the stairs.
"Dad? You called, right?"
Father was stretching his legs.
"I just got a message from Dende: He says he wants everyone to meet up at the lookout to discuss something important that he just found out."
I tilt my head, "Do you have any idea what he could possibly inform us?"
"No clue." Dad stopped stretching, "I know you're only here for about an hour but you should come along. Bring Tania along with also."
"Tania...?" I look in the direction of her room, "I'm not too sure if she'll be in the mood to meet up at the lookout."
"Why not?"
"It's... A long story, Dad."
Father seemed reflective.
"Actually... She did storm in here and almost knocked the ham I was eating not too long ago. She looked sad. What happened?"
I scratch my head, "Well... Um... To summarize everything... Her an I got busted... That girl at school I was telling you about... You know, Mr. Satan's daughter...? She overheard me and Tania's conversation and figured out we were the new heroes in town."
Dad gave a puzzled reaction, "I thought you two were going to be very cautious."
"We tried but we just couldn't outsmart Videl. Now she's forcing me to teach her how to fly or else she'll let everyone know what she found out. She'll be here either tomorrow or the day after."
"I'm not sure ChiChi will be okay with that." Dad says.
"She let me teach Tania. Teaching Videl shouldn't be too much of a problem for her."
Dad shrugs. I smile and tell him that I was going back upstairs to see if Tania wanted to head to the lookout with everyone. He went ahead and transported himself to the lookout.
"Hey. I got something important to ask you." I say to the girl.
"..."
"Dad just said Dende would like all of us to head to the lookout to discuss something important. Will you go with us, please?"
"..."
I wait for an answer.
"..."
"Tania?"
The fifteen-year-old gives a soft nod. She slowly sits herself up but she looked sad.
"Aw, cheer up." I give her a small hug before taking her hand, "Nothing bad will happen, trust me."
Again she nods but doesn't say a word.
I give her hand a squeeze then transport to our destination.
When we arrived, only a few of us were here. We were pretty early.
"Gohan! Tania!" I see Dende running our direction.
"Dende! It's nice to see you." I grin.
"Yeah, it's been a while."
"For sure."
The older looking boy glanced at Tania and smiled, "Its nice to see you too, Tania."
"Yeah..." She nods but still appeared troubled.
I rub my head, "So Dende, what did you want to talk about?"
Dende took his focus off Tania then says, "I'll have to answer after everyone gets here."
"Oh right." I reply.
What could he have figured out that's very important?
