"I hate you! I can't believe we actually dated!" He screams at me. I roughly wipe away the tears streaming down my face before I retaliate.
"Well I've never met such a sexist, racist, mean, possesive, self-centred jerk!! I can't believed I loved you!!" I yell, easily waking the neighbours.
"Yeah well I never loved you, Lilla." He snarls. My breathing stops and I look him dead in the eye.
"What did you just say?" I ask quietly but fierecly.
"I. Never. Fucking. Loved. You." He smirks, "What would have made you think I did?"
"Oh I don't know!" I scream, raising my arms in the air, "How about all those times you said you loved me?! Does that ring any bells?!"
"Aw come on," he laughs, "You didn't think I actually meant it, did you?"
"Well yes actually," I snap, "Why would you say it if you didn't mean it?"
"You were hot." He says angrily, "But now you're too clingy."
"Well I guess I'm not anymore, seeing as I'm the one leaving!!" I shout, grabbing my bag and storming out of his apartment.
I wipe my tears as I run down the road, making my eyeliner smudge. I bump into a few people, but continue stumbling down the road.
How did a normal date turn into something like this? Brent always knew how to ruin a perfect night.
I sob as I fumble with my keys at my front door, dropping them numerous times before getting in the keyhole.
I push the door open, closing it and leaning against it. I slowly slide down the door, bury my face in my knees.
I sob endlessly, not being able to stop.
I loved him.
I actually loved him.
I wish I didn't, I really do.
But I did.
And I paid the price for it.
I close my eyes and rest my forehead on my knees, now tired from all the tears.
Before I drift into oblivion, I make a promise to myself.
I'm going to get out of this place, this small town.
I'm going to get far, far away.
I'm going to put myself first, look after me before worrying about others.
And even more important.
I'm never going to fall in love again.
