The reason I went home is because I’m running away from someone.
Someone I can’t see my self to be with.
Someone like Zandra.
She’s really nice, pretty, rich and everything a man can call beautiful. But I don’t love her. I don’t want to spend the rest of my life to someone I don’t really love.
Infact, I’m more than willing to give up my inheritance for my freedom.
I know, It seems like I’m a hopeless romantic. Nothing beats being with someone you love di ba? So why enter eternity with someone you don’t love?
I’m an only son of a successful business man who is greedy enough to set me up sa anak ng isang real estate tycoon to expand his properties and increase his riches more.
Cyrrus’ dad is even kind enough to keep me here, and not tell my parents.
My dad and cyrrus’ dad are friends. They have a very good relationship. But tito Alvin understands my problem and disagrees with my dad’s insensitiveness.
Zandra seems to like the idea of an arranged marriage between me and her. But I don’t. buti nalang may laman ang bank account ko. Kung hindi, running away would be impossible.
Then a figure of a lady flashed into my mind. Her hair so long and brown and her eyes a sharp color of black. Perfection.
Siguro, nung nagsabog ng kagandahan ang dyos, sinalo nya na lahat.
Malas ko nga lang at hindi ko manlang naitanong ang pangalan nya. Sino kaya sya?

Morning came and I fixed myself up. I went downstairs to eat breakfast.
“kuya cyrrus! Kain ka na.” Stella is already eating her usual breakfast. Milk and cereal.
“okay sure.” I said as I took a seat.
“Tabi na tayo!” sabi ni stella, patting the seat next to her. Sometimes she cn be all childish kahit college na sya.
“o sige, sige.” I said and finally I took my seat. Cyrrus is already eating and about to leave for school I saw his phone on the table. I grabbed it and tried to give it to him but he already left. His phone beeped. New text message. The phone’s screen turned on at accidentally, I saw his wallpaper.
“it’s her..” I whispered silently.
Cyrrus
I drove off to school and I have a brilliant plan. I went to the registrar’s office. It’s easy for me to ask favors there since my dad is a board member here in this college.
“Good morning Sir Cyrrus, Why are you here so early? Do you need anything?” The registar said.
“actually, it’s just a little favor. I need to get a student’s class schedule and her section. Will that be possible?” I asked using my charms to get what I want.
“Sige, wait lang. But this is confidential. If anything goes wrong because of this, I’m gonna tell on you”
“deal.”
I gave her Anncel’s whole name. Anna Maria Cecilia De Vega.
The registrar gave me a copy of the Anncel’s Registration card and I headed out the office.

Okay, operation get-the-girl-i-love!
I bought 3 roses. I wrote on the card:
“to anncel,
Your smile makes my heart skip a beat.
-Cyrrus”
I asked one cleaning staff to put this on the teacher’s table on room 8894 10 mins. Before 9.
On the second rose, I wrote on the card:
“to anncel,
you’re everything I can ask for, and so much more.
-Cyrrus”
I asked the one of my friend who is her blockmate and asked him to put this on the teachers table, 10 mins before 12.
“ano nanamang pakulo ito Cyrrus?” He asked
“You’ll see”
And lastly on the third rose,
i didn’t wrote anything this time. But, pero pina-page ko ang message ko…
So this is me Cyrrus Claude Escueta, asking you Miss Anna Maria Cecilia De Vega, to go on a date with me. Will you?
The whole school heard it. All of the students heard it. The teachers heard it.
Anncel heard it.
I texted her.
“so, payag ka na?” I asked
She replied:
Remember, you are only allowed to ask one question a day. At nagamit mo na yun. Sure, I’ll go out with you. With one condition..
Wag mo na I pa-page yung pangalan ko. Lahat sila pinagtitinginan ako eh. :))
Anncel
An ordinary day. I thought to myself as I entered the school’s premises. I am early to day. At sa tingin ko, sa sobrang aga ko, ako pa magbubukas ng aircon.
I went inside my room for my first class. Tama, ako nga magbubukas ng aircon. Haha.
I am early today kasi mayrong quiz kami and I need a quiet place. At andg room na ito ay desserted. Late nanaman siguro ang mga classmate ko..
A beautiful red rose is on top of the table. I saw a card and it says:
“to anncel, Your smile makes my heart skip a beat. -Cyrrus”
What is he up to? And I have to admit, kinilig ako. Pero, I fought myself and tried to forget the thought. Wag kang magpapadala sa kanya anncel.
The class started 9:15 and we were dismissed. Margarette and I went out to eat lunch
2nd class is next and I went to the room. Nagkakagulo yung classmates ko.
“anong meron?” I asked
“I think this belongs to you.” One of my classmates handed me the same, familiar rose.
A card is attached to it. Kapareho nung kanina..
“to anncel, you’re everything I can ask for, and so much more. -Cyrrus”
Hindi ko napigilan ngumiti. Hindi ko na napigilan ang sarili ko. Naapektuhan ako. Hindi naman ako bato para maging manhid, at babae parin ako.
Feeling inspired ako sa huling class ko. Then suddenly the announcement speakers turned on and declared:
So this is me Cyrrus Claude Escueta, asking you Miss Anna Maria Cecilia De Vega, to go on a date with me. Will you?
My heart burst inside my chest. I cant breathe. Too much romance is in the air. I can’t even sense anything anymore. My clasmates yelled, they screamed. Madaming kinilig at mas madaming nainis.
Isang ordinaryong frosh na katulad ko ay niyayaya ni Cyrrus Claude Escueta to go out with him in a way I will never forget.
“anncel!!! Pumayag ka na!!” Sigaw ni Mica.
“oo nga naman!” Sabi ni maureen
Masaya ako. Ramdam ko. Wala ng self denial. Bakit ko pa ba magsinungaling sa sarili ko?
Mamatay kayo sa inggit!
Pumayag ako. At this time, WILLING NA AKO.
