Paul sleeps throughout the rest of the day and finally, I begin to get ready for bed myself.
Once I'm done with my nightly routine, I climb into my bed and turn out the lights. I drift off to sleep...only to be woken up a few hours later by a strange noise.
I gasp as I sit up, and look around the room.
Nothing.
Complete darkness.
Biting my lip, I get out of my bed and throw on my robe before leaving my bedroom. The stairs are creaky and I cringe with every step, until I finally make it to the ground floor.
Once I make it downstairs, I gasp.
Paul is gone.
And the front door is wide open.
