After sharing some intimate time with your boyfriend, Shawn, last night-- you woke up, head nuzzled into the crook of his warm neck, ready to take a hot shower before you head off to class.
His full sized bed with the rolled up duvet was practically begging you to stay, your legs tangled in his, his sleeping body beside you. But you knew that you would be late if you stonewalled any longer.
"Shawn," you whispered, assuming he wouldn't wake up, but slowly, his sleepy eyes fluttered open to greet yours.
"I'm sorry to wake you up," you immediately apologize, keeping your voice low, "but my first class starts in forty-five minutes."
You give him time to respond, his eyes closing again as he yawns and stretches. He sits up, looks over at you, and uses all of his energy to smile.
"Go get ready then, I'll drive you."
Even though Shawn lived right off campus, your first class was all the way on the opposite side, which was at least a ten minute drive-- about an hour by foot.
You get up from his bed, feeling his eyes on you as you cross the room slowly, stepping into the bathroom and closing the door behind you. Shawn even had a bottle of the kind of shampoo and conditioner you use, and there was an extra pink razor on the side of the tub, too. Your nights here had become frequent.
After starting the shower and waiting for it to warm up, you set out a towel from the cabinet above the toilet and put your shower playlist on shuffle, before stepping behind the curtain and letting the heat of the water cover your body like a blanket.
You soak your hair and sing along quietly to the song echoing from the speakers of your phone, gently patting your hair down with shampoo.
Just as you were rinsing it out, there was a knock at the door.
"Y/N?"
You open your eyes slightly before closing them again. "Hmm?"
"You haven't like, gotten dressed yet, right?" the voice on the other side of the door questions.
You roll your eyes. "No, Shawn, I decided to take a shower in my clothes."
"So you're still naked?"
You scoff. "Yes?"
There was a pause on the other side. "So can I join you, then?"
You couldn't help but smile. He had never offered to do such a thing, but you'd be lying if you said you didn't daydream about it.
"Yes, you can."
The door creaks open, and you poke your head out from behind the curtain and watch him smile at you, his cheeks red.
"Good morning again, honey," he whispers.
He was already unclothed, so he silences your music before he simply walks towards the shower where you wait and steps in. His tall, lean figure towers over you as he stands in front of you, arms circling your torso and pressing into the small of your back, scooting you closer.
The water washes over him at a slow pace, his hands becoming more slippery as they drench. He looks at you with all the care in the world, one arm still on your waist, the other raised as he runs his fingers through your wet, stringy tangle of hair.
He was looking at you seriously, only for a moment, before breaking out into a small chuckle and giving you a cute, cheeky grin.
"I have to condition," you whine, not wanting him to let go.
"Hand it to me," he says softly.
You turn around and grab the small bottle of conditioner-- not much bigger than a travel size or the ones given to you at a hotel-- and he takes it in his hand before spinning you around.
He squeezes the right amount onto his palm, softly caressing your smooth, moist hair repeatedly, top to bottom, beginning to end, his hand closing around each strand as he concentrates.
"This sounds so weird, but your hair is gorgeous," he says from behind you.
You giggle. "Thanks."
When he finishes, his hands move lower on your body to your hips as you begin to rinse out the conditioner.
He steps even closer, his shaggy hair falling over his eyes.
"I can't tell you how much I love you," he says, lips pressing softly to the damp skin of your cheek. "You're just so f.ucking beautiful. I say it all the time-- but Jesus Christ, Y/N. Every day you become more perfect."
You don't look up at him, just keep your eyes shut so the soap doesn't get inside them, but you smile shyly and shaky your head, denying that you became so lucky.
"I love you, too."
"So, what's next to wash?" he asks curiously. "Need to lather up your entire body? I have a loofa. I can help." He winks.
