His canines easily tore through my thin flesh with ease. I screamed out in pain while trying to push his heavy body off of mine, he used more force than necessary. My wolf was exceptionally happy that her mate claimed her as his. I, on the other hand, was outraged at him. He cannot simply mark someone without their consent. If I wanted him to do it, I would have told him. I didn't want this. Now it is almost impossible to leave him. Our connection would be stronger than it was before and even then it was quite strong.
He removed his canines from my neck and licked the blood that oozed out. It sent ripples of pleasure through my body, but I was too angry to go crazy about it. I could feel little droplets of water side down my cheek. I felt warm fingers wipe them away, I growled and slapped it away. I didn't want to talk to him right now, I only wanted to be left alone.
"I can't believe you just marked me!" I replied coldly. I was angry at my mate for ruining my chances of escape. It would be hard before to leave him, but now it was almost suicide to leave. Once a male werewolf marks their mate, they are inseparable. Their own need for each other amplifies and makes you want death if you are away from them. They don't have the will to live anymore without the one who is made for them. Most werewolves go rogue and cross enemy pack borders just to escape their lives.
"You should be happy. Now everyone will know that you are mine." His possessive nature got the best of him and he tried to wrap an arm around my waist. I quickly got up from the bed and turned away from him. When an Alpha marks their mate, they get a specific mark on their neck to show other wolves that their mate is an Alpha. All the Alpha's in the country know each other marks so if they happen to stumble upon their territory, they can return them.
"I didn't want this, I wanted to leave. You've taken my right to be alone forever. I hate the concept of packs. Listen to whatever the Alpha says and if not you get punished. That doesn't sit well with me. I've been in a pack be-" I quickly stop myself from revealing my past secrets. I could only hope that he didn't hear that. He would get extremely pissed off at the Alpha for making me leave. Since that was like a death sentence for pack werewolves.
It was bad enough that my pack and my unwanted new pack, were about to go to war. He would be too blinded by rage to have a clear head and rush into everything without thinking straight. I may be upset with him right now, but he is my mate and I do love him. I always would.
"Wait, you've been in a pack before?" Oh crap, he did hear that. He was becoming a little too curious for my liking.
"That's none of your business and off topic. You marked me without my permission. I have every right to be mad at you." I hope he will drop the subject and argue about the mark.
"No, me marking you was the right thing to do. I don't want anybody taking what belongs to me. Now every male will know who you belong to. You seem pretty close to James, are you together or something? Is that why you don't want to be with me? I swear if he ever touched you, I will kill that filthy rogue. You are mine!" His body was shaking with anger, I knew he would shift any second. He growled and in the next second I was pinned up against the wall. His body was completely pressed up against mine.
"He has nothing to do with this, leave him out of it." I couldn't let Carter hurt James, it's my fault for even getting us into this mess. If I would've been stronger then I could've taken down the beta. They all would be safe at home and I would be dead and not having to stay with this possessive Alpha. Even if I wanted to leave, I knew he would never let me go.
"Why are you defending him. I'm your mate not him!" I rolled my eyes which caused him to push me harder against the wall. He moved my hair behind my back and started trailing kisses. I know his wolf was taking over his body and was trying to teach his mate who was in charge. I hated that he was using our bond against me. My wolf and I craved our mates every touch. It was just as addictive as drugs, I couldn't get enough of him.
As suddenly as he started, he pulled back. His eyes were black with lust and a smirk was on his face. I knew that my Alpha mate just used the art of seduction on me.
"Only I can touch you like this." He moved his hand so, he was only holding me up with one hand, and placed it on my thigh. My whole body went up in flames and I moaned at the feeling.
"You know you can't resist me much longer." He continued to trail kisses down my neck and jaw. I bit my lip to keep a moan from escaping.
"I am your mate and Alpha, I order you to not touch any male or flirt with them."
"In case you have forgotten, I am a rogue, I don't have to listen to you."
The alpha growled and I couldn't stop the smirk from forming on my lips. He pushed me harder onto the wall and moved closer so every inch of our bodies were touching. It took every ounce of strength I had to stop myself from jumping him right there. He moved his hand to caress my cheek and I found myself leaning into his touch.
"When I first laid my eyes on you, you were mine. If I see any male looking at you inappropriately or longer than necessary, that will be the last thing they see. You are mine and only mine. I'm not one to share what belongs to me."
"I've been a rogue my whole life and I intend to be kept that way." I tried to push him off of me, which was a big mistake since he only pushed me harder against the wall.
"See that's where you're wrong, you are mine. The moment I laid eyes on you, you belonged to this pack. I wouldn't have let you leave anyway. You are the pack's luna. You will stay with me and that is not open for discussion." He stormed out of the room, not before slamming the door shut.

The rest of the day, Carter only came up to see if I was hungry. He tried to make conversion, but I ignored him completely. Now we were both downstairs lounging on one of the many couches in the living room. I was surprised that he even let me go out of our room since our fight. I knew he was still angry that I didn't want to be marked. He treated me as a possession, not a person. I'm used to being on my own and taking control. Now he controls everything I do.
I was on the loveseat while he was on a leather recliner. He tried to sit with me before, except I didn't want him that close to me.
My wolf was beyond excited that her mate marked her. She wanted to belong to Carter in every way possible. If she had been in control, we would have already completed the mating process when I first woke up to him. I can't believe how low she would stoop to be with him.
Carter got up from his chair and walked over to mine. He picked up my feet and sat down with my feet on his lap. I was going to get up, instead he held my feet down.
"Can I please stay with you. It hurts to be so far away from you." The look on his face even made me guilty. I know he's trying to make me happy to stay with him, but I can't. He doesn't deserve someone with a heavy past. I don't listen to the rules, I can't be the Alpha female. I don't want to be tied down to a certain place forever especially with a possessive Alpha.
I guess it's time to play dirty. I had to show him that I wanted to be here and not forced. It would require a lot of affection towards him and no more arguing, no matter how much I wanted to yell at him. My wolf hated my devious plan, I only hoped that he wouldn't figure it out before I left him. My wolf whimpered when I thought about leaving Carter. It made my heart ache a little, but I ignored it.
"I forgive you." I said. He turned to stare at me with a confused look on his face. We hadn't been keeping conversion, so it was weird that I actually started it.
"What?"
"For marking me. I know I should have been expecting it with you being an Alpha and all. I just assumed that you would make sure I was ready. I wanted to tell you that I forgive you." He smiled brightly before pulling me onto his lap. His hands gripped my waist tightly before he crashed his lips onto mine. I was shocked at his sudden fierceness but then started moving my lips with his. He acted like he was trying to take all of me with this one kiss. He licked my bottom lip asking for permission which I granted him. He moved me so I was laying on my back and he was on top of me. He had his weight on his arms so he wouldn't crush me with his weight. I wrapped my legs around his waist, pulling us impossibly closer. Things were getting hot and heavy when I decided to stop it. I gave his chest a light push and rested my forehead against his.
"I'm not ready for us to mate yet." He nodded and pecked my lips once more before sitting and pulling me on his lap. We stayed like that for a couple of minutes before the doorbell rang. We both walked to the door and opened it to see 2 muscular guys and the one was oddly familiar. I quickly recognized him as the Beta who almost killed me. I sent him a harsh glare, while he kept his gaze at his feet.
"Come on in guys." Carter let them in and ushered for them to the living room. He too, gave a glare to his Beta. Carter and I sat together on the same couch with his arms possessively wrapped around my waist. To say things weren't awkward would be an understatement. Here I was sitting 7 feet away from the guy who almost killed me. He kept nervously running his hand through his hair. It was a good thing Carter spoke first.
"Natalie, these are members of our pack, this is Travis." He said pointing to the guy with dark brown hair and brown eyes. "And this is my Beta, Hayden." He looked up at me with a slight smile on his face. I narrowed my eyes at him and growled. Carter gave my waist a tight squeeze and looked at me sympathetically.
"Yeah, I remember him alright."
"Luna, I am so terribly sorry for hurting you. If I would have known you were Carter's mate, I would have made sure you were safe."
"At least I didn't die or I bet Carter would have killed you." Carter growled loudly at my choice of words. It probably killed him to think what would have happened if I died.
"Look, I'm sorry." He said sounding agitated.
"Respect!" Carter snapped at him. "Do not forget you are not entirely forgiven for your actions. She is now your Alpha female and if anything happens while I'm gone, I won't hesitate to punish you." Carter said sternly. Hayden bowed his head in submission.
"You're leaving?" I asked him. He nodded and got up from the couch.
"Yes, I have pack business that I have been neglecting for the past couple of days that needs to be done. I promise it will only be a few hours. Hayden and Travis are staying, because I need you two to get along."
"Wait, why can't I stay here alone?" If I was here alone, this would be the perfect time to escape. I wouldn't have anybody watching over me to see if I was running. I bet this is why Travis and Hayden are here, to make sure I don't try to escape.
" My Alpha female and beta are supposed to cooperate." He gave me a quick peck on the lips then turned to the guys. " If anything happens while I'm gone, the consequences will be severe." They both nodded their heads and replied with 'yes Alpha.'
"Carter, can I talk to you for a minute," When nobody moved, I guess they didn't understand in private. "Alone." He nodded his head and turned towards the guys.
"Leave." They did as told, now it was only me and Carter.
"I know that's not the reason they're here for." He sighed and wrapped his arms around me from behind, his head rested on my shoulder. He started kissing me neck, except where my mark was. I know he was doing this to avoid the question and he was doing a good job of it. I tilted my head back to give him more access to my neck. Each kiss sent jolts of pleasure down my whole body. A moan escaped my lips and I could feel him growl across my neck. My knees started to buckle, it was a good thing he had a tight grip on my waist or I would be on the floor.
"I do need you to get along, but with the upcoming war with the Imperial Pack. I want to make sure you are protected at all times." I tensed at the name of my old pack, but quickly regained my composure so he wouldn't suspect anything.
"I think that's part of the reason, not the whole thing. I think it's because you don't trust me to be alone by myself and not run away." He chuckled and kissed my forehead.
"You are a very smart and sexy Luna. I don't think I will be able to get away with much while you're here."
"Carter, why don't you trust me enough to be alone?" His happy facade quickly vanished and now serious Carter is back.
"As you very well know, a few hours ago you said how much you wanted to leave. All but five minutes ago, you said you accepted my mark. I can't trust you to be alone yet. If you leave our pack will fall, I will be too worried about you to care about the Imperial Pack. They will know I'm weak and attack." He did have a good point there. He wouldn't care about his pack if I left, but it didn't mean I still wouldn't leave if I had the chance. I know it's wrong for others to pay for my selfishness, but I can't stay here.
"Carter, ple-"
"Enough!" He snapped. My wolf whimpered at his tone towards us. She liked obeying our mate, but she didn't like being disrespected by him. I pushed him away from me and ran to our bedroom.
"Natalie! Don't walk away from me." He was right on my tail, but I beat him to the room and locked the door. "Natalie! Open this damn door now!" I had tears falling down my cheeks and Carter kept yelling at me to open it. "Natalie, I swear you have five seconds before I open this door or I will break it down!" I rolled my eyes, but figured it was better that there was a door. I walked over to it and unlocked it. He barged in like a madman, ready to scream at me. When he saw my tear filled eyes, his eyes softened.
"Baby, what's wrong?" He led me over to the bed and sat me on his lap. I leaned my head on his chest, inhaling his scent to calm me down. "Please, tell me what's wrong."
"Carter, I need to see them. He sighed and shook his head. "Please." I grabbed his hand and intertwined our fingers. I could tell that he was having an internal battle with himself. I know he didn't like seeing me unhappy, but he thought those 'rogues' were dangerous.
"Natalie, I can't."
"Please, I need to see for myself that they are fine. Just give me ten minutes with them. That's all I'm asking for."He groaned but nodded his head.
"Five minutes, if I see something I don't like, we leave immediately." I grinned up at him and hugged him.
"Thank you so much."
"I'd do anything to make you happy." He smiled down at me then picked me up bridal style. That was so sweet of him it almost made me say 'aww'. I knew that would tick him off, so I held it in. He walked me all the way down to the living room where the boys were watching tv. They stood up as soon as they saw us .
"I'm taking Natalie to the cells to see the rogues." They both nodded their heads and we began walking to the prison.
When we finally arrived at the prison, it's exactly what'd you imagine. The building was made of concrete and only had a few windows with bars on them. It was definitely designed so know one could enter or leave if they weren't welcome. We walked down to the basement where the cells were. It was dark, without werewolf enhanced senses you couldn't see a thing. We were walking towards the back when I saw them. I tried to run up to them, but Carter wrapped an arm around my waist possessively. I caught their scents and I knew they could smell mine. They all turned towards me and smiled.
"Natalie."
"Natalie."
"You're okay." I heard a chorus of 'Natalie's' and 'you're alive.' I chuckled at them and smiled. They all looked physically unharmed, which I was thankful for. It made me feel bad that they were down here while I was living comfortably in the mansion. Were they getting enough food? Were they getting treated okay? A million questions were running through my head.
"Are you guys okay? I've been so worried." I saw James in the corner and Carter immediately stiffened. He moved me closer to his body, tightening his arm around me.
"Are we okay? I think we are the ones to be asking that." He chuckled and tried to hug me through the bars. Carter growled and pulled me away from him. I knew he saw James as a threat since he thought we were in a relationship.
"She is fine, she's my mate not yours." I rolled my eyes at his possessive behaviour.
"We all thought that you were dead. I went crazy after the beta attacked you. I couldn't leave you there after you went down. We were the first to attack them then he came." He said nodding to Carter.
"Are they treating you okay?" I whispered. If they weren't, I knew I would make Carter be nicer to them. They are my friends and nothing would get in my way to make sure they were safe.
"Yeah, except for the fact that we're locked in." He said pulling on the bars. I reached out to touch his hand, but Carter jerked me back.
"I won't allow you to touch him in any way." Carter said. I nodded at him, not wanting to start a fight with the little amount of time I had to see my friends.
"It's all my fault you guys are in here. If I would've been strong enough to fight him, you guys wouldn't be here. I'm so sorry." I said with tears falling down my cheeks.
"Hey, hey it's not your fault. I can't believe I even let you fight him, it wasn't even a fair fight. It actually makes him look bad for going against you." I heard Hayden growl from behind me. We didn't say anything for a few seconds. I think we were both glad that we were both breathing.
"Time to go." Its only been like two minutes, but Carter must think me and James are getting too close.
"I promise I will get you guys out of here. Don't do anything stupid until then, promise me?" He nodded and waved goodbye. It was hard to see them locked up. My next goal was to get them all out of here.
When we finally arrived back at the mansion, Carter was just about to leave. Strangely, I wanted him to stay. Carter came down the stairs looking as sexy as ever. His muscles bulged out of his tight black t-shirt. His abs were seen through his shirt and I couldn't help but ogle over them. He caught me staring and smirked.
"I'm going to leave now." He said walking over to me and taking me in his arms. "Don't forget I need you two to get along." I groaned but nodded my head.
"I'll miss you." He whispered against my skin. He lifted my chin up with his finger and crashed his lips with mine. His lips moved against mine, massaging them. He didn't waste time putting his tongue in my mouth. Our tongues fought for dominance which he won easily. His hands lifted up my shirt so he could touch my waist. I moaned and tangled my fingers in his hair, slightly pulling on it. I was the first to pull away, even though I didn't want to.
"I'll miss you too." I told him breathlessly.
"Behave." He pecked my lips once more, before leaving me alone with Travis and Hayden.
