Dedicated to Queen of the Otakus. As promised, I've put Gajeel and Levy in this chapter. I may incorporate them in the later chapters too :)
The next morning, as Lucy was writing in her diary about the recent events involving the Wishywashy Guys and Riku, she heard a knock at her door. It was Natsu and Happy asking to come inside.
"What's up?" She asked after opening the door.
"Just wanted to crash." Natsu replied and Lucy just glared at him.
"Fine. Just don't disturb me while I'm writing."
"Writing what? Can I see?!"
"No! You can't. It's personal."
"Where is it? Show me!" Natsu ruffled through the papers on Lucy's desk.
"Natsu! No!" Lucy angrily kicked his stomach.
"Just let me write. You can eat the snacks on the counter so don't open all the kitchen cabinets in search of snacks."
"Hehe. Alright!"
Natsu went to open the Oreos packet to see that there were flies inside. One flew and sat on his face.
"Eeek!" Natsu screamed and Lucy cracked up.
"HA-HA! The oreos are rotten! Serves you right for setting my kitchen on fire the last time you came!"
"I'm not afraid of bugs. It's just that they're so crawly and they fly everywhere!"
"Sure, sure. Well next time, remember not to set my house on fire."
"We won't!" Happy intervened.
"Revenge is sweet. Now, let me write. If you insist on staying, just don't cause any more trouble. Well....even if I say that, you're bound to do something. But whatever. If you do, I'll just kick you out and get revenge again."
"Mmm..ok." Natsu and Happy decided to exercise at her house and build muscles so that on their next mission, they'd be super strong and fit.
After 30 mins, the three of them went to Fairy Tail to check up on Riku. Riku was doing fine and he would be discharged the next day. Afterwards, they checked the mission listings. Levy and Gajeel were also looking for missions to go on.
"Hey! There's a mission here that requires solid script!" Levy was talking to Gajeel, since they both were looking for missions to do. Lucy overheard Levy and walked next to her.
"Hey! The rewards are 100 dollars and a silver zodiac key! I need that key! I'm coming with you." Lucy saw the flyer and said to Levy.
"Sure! Gajeel is coming too because he has nothing else to do." Levy answered.
"Then I'm coming too!" Natsu blurted out.
"Why? You don't have to come. We have enough people." Lucy stated.
"Well I want to compete with Gajeel!"
"Oh yeah?! Then come with us! Geeheehee! Let's fight!" Gajeel exclaimed.
"Teeheehee! Let's go already!" Natsu grinned.
"At least read the dang flyer, Natsu." Lucy whacked the back of his head.
"I don't need to know the details. You're there for that stuff."
"FINE BY ME." Lucy retorted. They promptly exited the guild and left for the mission.
"So...we have to steal gold from a thief..." Natsu pondered after hearing the mission details from Levy since Natsu was too afraid to ask Lucy.
"Well technically it's not stealing. We are taking back what's rightfully the owner's and giving it back to him." Lucy said.
"Alright! Let's kick some robber butt!"
"Imma knock him out in one shot!" Gajeel shouted.
"Not if I do first!" Natsu yelled.
"We'll see about that!"
"Guys, we are here." Levy said. They had arrived at the mansion of the mission requester. There was a big fountain in the middle of a courtyard full of roses. At the back of the fountain was the entrance into the majestic mansion engraved in gold lining.
"Woaah." Happy looked in awe.
They went inside and upon entering, there was a crystal staircase on the right and a living room with a purple sofa and an 84 inch flatscreen TV in front of their eyes.
"Can I live here already?" Lucy asked wishing she could live here instead of paying rent for a small bedroom apartment.
"Oh are you all from Fairy Tail?" The owner of the house came from the kitchen near the living room and led them to sit on the sofa. It was so comfy that Natsu was almost going to fall asleep.
"So the thing stated on the flyer is basically the mission. I can't find the thief so I thought you could help retrieve my stolen items: a golden necklace, golden clothing, and a gold wallet. I've heard Fairy Tail has the best mages so I sent a request in. " The rich man said.
"Yes we will do our best to find him. Thank you. But what do you need a Solid Script mage for? I'm just curious."
"I don't know the thief's powers yet. I do know he broke into my mansion using magic when I wasn't home. When I returned, my bedroom was in a mess, a lot of my precious items were stolen, and the windows to my bedroom were well....not entirely broken but a perfect circle of glass was broken off. I don't know exactly what kind of magic could do that so I asked for a Solid Script mage since they can use a variety of elements."
"Cool! Did the thief leave anything behind so we can find him?" Levy asked.
"He did leave a black mask behind. Here." Lucy took it, said thanks, and they got up and set off to find the thief.
"Alright. Natsu sniff this." Lucy gave the mask to Natsu who inhaled the smell of the mask.
"Yosh! I got it! Let's go! It's this way!" Natsu led the way and they reached a cottage in the middle of a forest at sunset.
"It's getting dark. We should hurry and find him." Happy stated. They looked inside the cottage and there he was. The thief.
"You! Come here!" Natsu punched the thief with a fire fist at the same time that Gajeel kicked him with an iron leg. The thief fainted from the stress of his injury.
"Well that was super easy. Let's take back the items." Gajeel said.
"Not so fast."
"What?"
The thief had cloned himself using an ice sculpture.
"You can use ice like Gray?!" Natsu widened his eyes.
"Ha! I can even do this!" He shot a circular green laser from the palm of his hand.
"So that's how you broke the windows, huh?" Lucy put her hand on her keys and opened the gate of Gemini. Gemini cloned into the thief so they both had the same powers. But the battle wasn't going anywhere. It was a stalemate. Finally Levy used her solid script and used the word "thorns" to put thorns into the thief to stop him from fighting. She added a finishing "Mud" so he couldn't move.
"Yay! I did it!" Levy jumped up in joy and Gajeel giggled. He thought she was such a cute, little bundle of joy.
"Not bad Levy!" Gajeel grinned and Levy's cheeks reddened.
They captured the thief, gave him to the police, and returned the stolen items to its owner. Then, they came back to the guild at sunset. Riku was out of the hospital room and he was talking to Gray and Juvia near the wall that had mission flyers posted on it.
Levy, Gajeel, Lucy, and Natsu walked up to them.
"So what are you going to do now? Explore the town more?" Juvia asked Riku.
"Hmm...I think I want to go on another mission." Riku replied.
"Great! Maybe we can go with---" Suddenly, there was a crash and a arrow pierced into Juvia's chest. Juvia fell to the ground, blood spilling out of her mouth.
Gray stared in shock and his heart dropped. He ran towards her and started crying.
"Gray-sama. Juvia wishes to be by your side forever, but maybe this is the last time..." Juvia stroked Gray's cheek and smiled as tears rolled down her cheeks. After a few moments, she blacked out.
Gray suddenly felt as if his world had collapsed. From overwhelming sadness, he fainted next to her. Riku and the others also couldn't believe what had happened. Riku felt a hole in his heart. He had not spent much time with Juvia and he regretted not confessing to her. The arrow was from the thief's accomplice that had followed them to the guild. The other guild members jailed the thief and Natsu went up to Gray to wake him up.
"Gray...gray....are you there?" Natsu waved his hand over Gray's eyes. Gray's vision slowly cleared up and he sat up.
"What happened? My head hurts."
"It's nothing much. You simply fainted out of heat stroke."
"Heat stroke? But I use ice powers. I can cool myself down."
"Well I shot a huge flame at you from behind your back and you couldn't counter it."
"So you made me faint intentionally?!"
"Don't worry about it! The important thing is you're alright."
"If you did that on purpose, then why would you say I'm alright?"
"Never mind. Forget about it." Natsu quickly got up and walked away so that Gray wouldn't ask him more questions. Gray was super confused and he asked other guild members but they said the same thing. Something is off. Why are they all lying to me?
