×× Justin ××

It was amazing riding bikes in the middle of the night, Justin thought. The streets were basically empty and all that could be heard was their laughter and talking.

They ended up at a park, lying on the grass, looking up at the sky.

"... so we ended up sleeping out in the tree house instead. All of us." Justin had been telling Skylar about a time in his childhood when, somehow, his dad had lost the house keys and the housekeeper was away for the weekend.

Skylar couldn't stop laughing. The idea of two adults and three children cooped up in a little tree house was hilarious to her.

"And it was my mom's bright idea. I was all for a night in a hotel, like my dad wanted." Justin smiled.

"Did you even manage to get some sleep in the tree house?"

"When you thought you were getting sleep, someone's foot would find its way to your face. It was horrible. And with the hole in the roof, everyone wanted to snuggle and stuff. But not me and Jaxon."

Skylar giggled.

"Too cool for that, huh?"

"That's what we thought." Justin smiled. "But not anymore. I could cuddle up with you all day."

Skylar looked at Justin and smiled.

"I wish we were able to spend a bit more time together earlier on after we..." she blushed.

"Me too." Justin smiled. "But I'll make it up to you. I promise."

"I thought this was your idea of making it up to me."

"Babe, you're talking to the guy who took you to a skate park for a date and almost got you in trouble for it. Expect the unexpected."

"You're going to make me hate surprises, Justin."

"You'll always love mine."

Skylar smiled and rolled onto her tummy.

"What were you about to ask me back at your place before Nicole came through?" She asked.

Justin looked at her and smiled slightly.

He'd honestly hoped that Skylar would've forgotten about that.

"It wasn't important." He said.

"It was. You looked at me some type of way."

"Sky..."

"Come on, Justin. You know that you can talk to me about anything. Is it about your dad?"

He sighed.

"Sort of." He said.

"Tell me."

He looked into her eyes and saw warmth in them. It's what made it so easy for him to talk to Skylar.

"I was going to ask if you'd run away with me if I asked you to." He said.

Skylar said nothing.

"It's a stupid thing to ask." He said. "Never mind."

"You seriously want to run away?"

"I think about it sometimes. I know it would be hard in the beginning but I have a plan."

"You have a plan."

"Yes. My grandpa's will states that I'm to graduate in order to get my inheritance. He didn't say what course I was meant to graduate and my architectural one ends next year. That money can keep us surviving for a long while, until we're able to get jobs and all of that. It makes perfect sense."

"Justin..."

"No, think about it. Our parents give us grief--"

"Honestly, my mom is just a little overprotective. She's not that extreme--"

"I don't want to do this without you, Skylar."

"You can't expect me to just leave, Justin. My mom is all I have. A-And what about our friends? And you can't expect me to be happy to just... be happy to live off your money."

"I don't mind. Everything will be fine."

"You can't be sure. What do we tell everyone?"

"We'll cross that bridge when we get there."

Skylar sat up slowly and shook her head.

"Justin, I really care about you and I really love you. But this..."

"But you once said..."

"I know. I know. Look, at least let me think about it then."

"Okay." Justin visibly relaxed.

Skylar laid down again and looked at the sky.

"I wouldn't be asking you if it wasn't important to me, Sky." Justin said. "I don't want to live a life without you. And... running away could be exciting."

"Of course you'd think that." Skylar smiled.

"I was serious about the Tupac thing." Justin joked.

Skylar giggled.

"Stop it." She said.

"Make me." He looked into Skylar's eyes, a small smile on his face.

She smiled and rolled onto her tummy again.

"Out here in the open? Whoa Bieber, what's gotten into you?" Skylar teased Justin just like he had.

He chuckled lightly and gently pushed Skylar onto her back then he hovered over her, his elbows resting on either side of her face. He kissed her slowly and sweetly, wishing that she'd take on his offer and just go away with him.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled.

"What?" Justin smiled too.

"You're crazy. I hope you know that."

"I do now. But I'm only crazy for you."

"You're a sweetheart."

"And I love you."

"I love you too. And unless you want Za and them thinking we're out here having sex, I suggest we get that pizza then head back."

"Bummer. I always wanted to get it on with you out in the open." Justin sat up.

Skylar smiled.

"It's never happening." She said.

"I should sing you this song I wrote about never saying never." Justin helped Skylar up.

She dusted herself off.

"After that, you can sing that 'Baby' song to me then tell me what PYD means."

"You're pushing your luck, baby girl." Justin smiled as they walked back to their bicycles.

"A girl can always hope."

"Not for that. Nope."

"You say that now. I might know how to make you sing those songs for me."

Justin looked at Skylar who was smirking.

"I won't comment." He smiled. "I might say something stupid and put you off of that offer."

"Good boy."

They walked up the street in silence until they got to a pizza place which was only a few minutes away. They got the pizza, loaded it into the basket of Skylar's bicycle then walked back to the apartment.

"Y'all really need to explain this late habit of yours." Xavier said when Justin and Skylar walked in.

"We even forgot you were gone to get pizza." Alfredo said.

"Now that I think of it, we could've just ordered in."

"Y'all were too busy dying of hunger to even think straight." Romeo said.

Eveyone was sitting in the living room, watching a movie.

"We got everyone's pizza. Be happy." Justin said.

"You missed the best game of truth or dare ever!" Nicole smiled as Skylar handed out the boxes of pizza.

"What happened?" Skylar asked.

"Long story short, Za got a lap dance from Romeo and he stood in the middle of the road to moon a passing car, Nicole confessed to having kissed a girl and I had to down four jalapeños." Alfredo said.

"You kissed a girl?" Justin looked at Nicole, a small smirk on his face.

Skylar hit his chest.

"Ouch. I was just asking." He said, rubbing his chest.

"I saw that smirk. Stay in your lane." Skylar said.

Justin raised his hands in defence and sat down.

"What are we watching?" He asked.

"Wolf of Wallstreet." Romeo said. "Awkward ass movie. I got outvoted."

Skylar sat next to Justin.

"Can we revote?" She asked.

"You gon' come out of nowhere and ask for a revote?" Xavier looked at Skylar.

"I know you did not just talk to me in that tone." Skylar raised an eyebrow.

"Za." Justin whispered, then he mouthed, "she'll kill you."

"All I was saying was... the movie's almost over."

"I'm sure that was all you were saying."

Xavier kept quiet and had his pizza.

They watched a few movies before getting into some more games like Scrabble and Twister.

"Sky, it's getting late. Don't you want me to drop you off?" Justin asked from the kitchen where he was having some water.

Skylar was still in the middle of the Twister game, her aim to get Xavier out since his butt was basically just inches away from her face.

"In a bit." She said.

"Man, I feel gassy." Xavier said.

"Oh my gosh, Za, if you let it rip, I'm killing you."

Everyone laughed.

"It doesn't help that you're cracking jokes." He said.

"Romeo, talk to your boyfriend." Skylar said.

"Za, I'll help Sky kill you if you fart." Romeo said.

Everyone was out of the game except Xavier and Skylar and neither one of them wanted to give in.

"Just let Za win." Alfredo said.

"I'm doing this for the ladies." Skylar said, starting to shake from being in the same position for so long.

"She's gon' fall. She's gon' fall!" Xavier started shaking his behind in Skylar's face.

She laughed, falling onto her back and covering her face with her hands.

"Ew, Za!"

"Za, you never twerk for me." Romeo said.

"I did it for us, baby." He smiled at Romeo then stood up to do some more dance moves that had to do with hip swaying and butt shaking.

"You look like a male stripper, Za." Justin laughed.

"They call me the Anaconda."

"Who's 'they'?" Romeo tilted her head.

Everyone laughed again.

"Shots fired!" Nicole laughed hard.

Romeo put on a pair of sunglasses and laughed.

"That was some major shade right there." Skylar said.

"Romeo's in denial. She knows what's up." Xavier said.

"Okay, okay. Stop laughing at my baby." Romeo smiled and went to hug her boyfriend.

"I hate you." He crossed his arms and pouted.

"That's my cue to leave." Skylar got up.

"Already? The night is still young." Nicole said.

"Your mom isn't as gangsta as mine. I'll see you all soon."

Justin went to get his keys and Skylar waited at the door. After saying goodbye to everyone, Justin took Skylar home.
