Ashley

Halloween.

It was that time of the year again, children screaming, parents panting, you know—the usual stuff. I ran a hand through my curls and scanned the designs repeatedly. This was also a really big week for us here at Amalie. That's what Ellie called her company. For the first few months that I'd been here I never knew why, until I learned that Amalie was what her grandfather used to call her.

Now, the way I found out...you could say it was a little intrusive. I didn't know a thing about this woman, when she hired me I was intrigued at how robotic she was. Wikipedia did absolutely nothing to increase my knowledge so I had to do a little digging myself.

I'd found out that she had an older brother from the tabloids, some divorce scandal that made front page. I'd managed to contact his office, and set up a meeting with him. I told him I was doing a page on eligible bachelors and wanted to know more about him.

He spilled everything to me, about his parents, grandparents, even his wife. Of course I didn't actually write a page on it, I was just snooping around. That's how I got to learn a bit about the mysterious Ellie Amalie May. Somehow after learning a bit about her background, it made it easier for me to meet her demands.

After everything I'd been through, just to find out my boss's middle name, it annoyed the living fuck out of me that she and Robin were suddenly this close. After meeting a few weeks ago when I asked Robin to drop off my cell phone, it was as if the two were inseparable.

Fine, I'd said. They talk, that's okay. But then, I hear Robin calling her "Amalie" and I almost had an aneurism.

I was sitting at my desk, silently cursing the glass walls that separated mine and Ellie's offices, instead of the regular hard-wood. Robin was sitting in Ellie's chair, my boss leaned on her desk, her cheeks bright pink from whatever the hell Robin had just said.

I instinctively rolled my eyes, trying to focus on the portfolio on my desk. Somehow, I couldn't help but wonder about the nature of their relationship. I've never seen Ellie date anyone, I'm not sure if she was that good at being out of the public eye or if she just didn't have a life. But in the months I'd been here, she'd never had a friend come to the office—I barely saw a laugh out of her.

So what was it about Robin that had her so caught up? Were they dating? Did they have sex?

I wanted to strangle myself at my thoughts, Ellie is a grown woman, and I felt as though I was being very intrusive. I couldn't help it though, it was my office too.

"Ashley!" Ellie called, her hair swaying as she walked around her desk.

Robin stood as I approached them, allowing Ellie to actually sit at her desk. I stood awkwardly, waiting for Ellie to tell me why the fuck she brought me over here. Robin whispered something in her ear, and I saw my boss grin. I'd never been so terrified at someone's smile before.

"Did you want something?" I snapped.

The she-bitch stared at me with a brow raised, "Yes, I need you to check with the planner. Make sure everything is on schedule for the annual Halloween ball. I also want you to make sure the caterers don't eff up our order this year."

I nodded, "Okay, I'll get right on it."

"And also," she said, just as I turned away. "I need that portfolio from Sonja immediately. Robin will be doing the fall clothing shoot tomorrow."

A strange sound escaped my mouth, something between "What the fuck?" and "Huh?"

Robin was going to model Sonja's designs? I mean, Robin was beautiful—gorgeous even. I'm sure she could pull it off but there were several other qualified, experienced models who wanted this position.

"Are you sure?" I asked her, even though it wasn't my place.

"Yes, I'm sure. I'm always sure." Ellie rolled her eyes, turning her attention back to Robin.

Robin hadn't spoken to me since the incident in her bedroom, three weeks ago. I'd found her panting, with beads of sweat running down her face. Her eyes were wide open and distressed—and I'd never seen her so vulnerable before.

I pressed the button to summon the elevator, when I felt someone towering over me. Robin stood beside me, her hair tousled, in her famous messy bun, and her eyes glazed over—stoned of course. I couldn't stop thinking about her, constantly wondering what she could have been dreaming about. It pained me to see her like that, I didn't know why. Ben had asked me what happened between us, but I couldn't bring myself to tell him that I'd walked in on her while she was having night terrors.

Things had been going pretty okay with Ben and me, but he's been really busy. He'd surprise me with dates, and cute gifts—even met a few of my friends but something felt off. I didn't feel like I was getting his full attention. Every day I was starting to understand why things hadn't worked with Sean and me more and more.

Robin wordlessly stepped into the elevator after me, I could feel her eyes roaming over me—over my chest. I knew she was obsessed with my breasts ever since she spilled coffee all over me.

"Are you just going to stand there?" I asked annoyed. "Was it really so bad?"

"It was a pretty shitty thing. No one has ever seen me like that." She said, so quiet I almost missed it. I felt the urge to hug her, or touch her in some way and tell her it's okay, but decided against it.

"I'm not going to tell anyone about it." I tried easing the tension. I glanced up at Robin as she licked her lips, and remembered her telling me we'd kissed. I didn't think anything of it really, I was drunk. She was my boyfriend's sister and although she was stunning, i'd convinced myself I wasn't attracted to her in that way.

But as we stood there on our lonesome in the elevator, I could feel the sexual heat that she exuded. It almost caused me to break out in a sweat.

"Are you okay?" she asked, "You look a little pale." Robin reached out and touched my face, sending shockwaves down my spine. Her eyes were like a pool of velvet, drawing me in, almost drowning me completely.

"I—"

She leaned in and captured my lips; the kiss was soft, and subtle. My hand instinctively reached for her hair, tangling my fingers in the strands as if it was the most natural thing ever. My breathing was strained, I felt as though we were running out of air in the elevator. When her hands reached around my waist, my body responded almost immediately.

The chiming of the elevator brought me back to reality. Reality being—I was making out with my boyfriend's sister in the elevator. Robin pulled away from me, her lips pink and swollen, evidence of what we'd been doing.

"I'm sorry," she said, staying in the elevator.

There were no words to express the jumbled thoughts in my head, so instead of responding, I simply walked off. I got off on the fifth floor, my hot red heels clacking on the floor as I walked towards the photographer's office. I'd worn a sleek, white, body glove dress to work. My hair was pinned up in its usual up-do, and light makeup graced my face.

I was still quite shaken up from my run in with Robin in the elevator but I tried my best not to let it show. My heart was still thudding wildly in my chest, I felt as though I'd faint if it continued.

"David," I walked into his office. He'd had his door removed a few weeks ago, saying that 'no one knocks anyways,".

"My love," he grinned, his pearly whites shining under the office light.

"Ellie wants to make sure everything is good for the fall shoot tomorrow." I placed Sonja's portfolio on the desk. It contained pictures of all the outfits she'd created for this season—Ellie had highlighted the ones we would use for the shoot tomorrow.

"There's one more lighting check tomorrow morning...But besides that, everything is set." David leaned back in his seat. "You look stunning,"

"Thank you," I couldn't help the blush that rose. He had a boyfriend, but his eye for fashion was keen and a compliment from David was like the heavens opening up for me. He had his blonde hair in a spiky style, wearing a pink blazer over a plain white v-neck t-shirt.

It was simple, but stunning.

"So, I'll be working with the new girl tomorrow then?"

"Apparently," I tried not to think about it too much. "I gotta get back to work, see you around babe." I sent him an air kiss and he giggled, as if we were schoolgirls.

After going over all the plans for the Halloween banquet, I was done with work for the day. Tomorrow was Halloween and Ellie's parties were always grand, and extravagant. I still hadn't found the perfect costume yet, so of course I consulted my best friend about it.

"Ashley are you listening to me?" Jessica barked over the table. "I've been talking for fifteen minutes now and you haven't said a word."

"I'm sorry, just a little preoccupied."

Preoccupied with Robin's lips.

"Get out of that big head for a minute. I saw this really cool costume store on the second floor." She grabbed my arm and we headed up the escalator. She was right—as usual. The store had amazing costumes, and even corresponding ones for your dates, or friends.

"Do you think Alex would wear this?" She said after we walked through the store for some while.

I almost choked at the tux. "The beast?"

Jessica smacked my arm, "Yes, and I'd be beauty."

"Hmm...Beauty and the beast." I stared at the outfit for a few minutes, it looked like a onesie. It was somewhat an exact replica to the Beast from Disney's Beauty and the Beast. There was even a mask to match.

"If you manage to convince your girlfriend to wear that, then yes, it's perfect."

I doubted Alex would consent to dressing up as a stuffed animal in a tux though. It got me thinking, what costume would Ben get? Ellie had given me four extra tickets, saying "The more, the merrier. Just make sure they're dressed appropriately."

Two of the tickets belonged to Jessica, one to Sophie and of course the other was Ben's.

Third Person

The two friends spent the entire afternoon playing dress up in the costume store. From ghouls, to goblins, to witches; they'd tried almost everything in the store. One of the outfits however, Jessica was convinced belonged to Ashley.

Ashley stood in the dressing room, observing her flushed face in the outfit.

"Are you sure about this?" She trusted her best friend, possibly more than anyone. So of course when the dark haired woman insisted on the costume—she'd bought it.

They left the store later that evening with several bags, the outfits and accessories.

"So I'll see you tomorrow night?" Ashley asked, adjusting her sunglasses whilst making herself comfortable in the driver's seat.

Her friend peered at her through the window, "Yes, 9pm sharp. Call me, alright?"

The blonde nodded, then drove off. The melancholic colour of the sunset had her feeling strange. She hadn't heard from Ben all day, no call, text, nothing. Her car squeaked to a stop in her driveway as she arrived home.

Fed up, Ashley pulled out her cell phone and decided to call Benjamin. At first, there was no answer. Ashley sat around the kitchen counter in her home, staring at the phone in disbelief. Her fingers itched as she pressed his name in her phone, calling him again.

"Hello,"

"Where the hell have you been? Did you forget you had a girlfriend?" She didn't intend to sound so harsh, but she was upset. If he could go an entire day without a word to her, she certainly didn't mean as much to him as she'd thought.

Ashley kicked off her red pumps as she waited impatiently for him to respond. There was a ring at her front door, and she heard the echo through the call. She hurried over to the door, squinting through the peephole. Ben stood there with flowers and what looked like takeout.

"I'm so sorry, I was planning a romantic evening but got caught up at work. I didn't mean to ignore you all day."

Ashley felt her heart melt; he was sweeter than anyone she'd ever been with before.

"You're so cute," she pecked his lips, dragging him inside. "Oh, would you like to see my costume?" She asked, bouncing on the couch excitedly.

"About that..."

Ashley frowned, "What?"

"I've got a business trip this weekend, in Chicago. I've got to be on the road tonight."

She pulled away from him, "Are you fucking kidding me? I've hardly seen you and now you're going on some impromptu trip?" Her hair was frazzled, cheeks red—but not from blushing. She was enraged.

"I know we've been planning for this event for a while but—"

"No, I've been planning for this event Ben, for weeks. And what? You show up here with two cartons of Chinese takeout and that makes everything okay?"

"Ashley, I'm sorry."

"Get the fuck out of my house. Get your shit together."

Ashley was beyond pissed off. Every time she'd arranged for them to do something together, he made another excuse. She was starting to believe Ben was ashamed of her; brilliant business lawyer dating a fucking blonde bimbo.

She opened the door, and Ben left wordlessly. He didn't even try, she thought. Ashley slammed the door behind him, the wetness on her cheeks upsetting her even more. She didn't have to be that dramatic. Maybe it was her fault, she thought. She'd been searching for something—any reason why Ben wasn't good enough.

It was something she'd always done, a coping mechanism so she'd never get too attached to anyone.

Robin

The sun set fire to my skin as I lay on one of the lawn chairs in Ellie's backyard.

Today was Halloween; apparently Ellie's company hosted a huge banquet every year. Of course, I was invited by default. I'd recently found myself enjoying Ellie's company, and I was glad for the distraction anyway. I wasn't sure what was going on with me these days. Ever since Ashley intruded during one of my nightmares, I hadn't been able to get her out of my head. The kiss we shared in the elevator didn't help.

God, what the hell was I doing? She was my brother's girlfriend.

She caught a glimpse of the real me, the disturbed, young girl who couldn't get over her mother dying. The Robin who had to stay high all the time to be happy. I wasn't sleeping with Ellie; I didn't even think she was interested in women. Personally, she seemed Asexual. If you could date your job, I think Ellie would be the first in line for it.

But, we simply enjoyed each other's company. She's never met anyone so outspoken, and not afraid to voice their opinion to her just because she was a powerful woman—her opinion, not mine. The more I got to know her, the more I realised we were a lot more similar than I'd expected.

Disturbed pasts, daddy drama, everything.

After spending the day lounging at the pool, it was time to get ready. Ellie's house wasn't a mansion, it was probably the only average thing in her life. It was a regular townhouse, in a suburban area, with perfect lawn and Halloween decorations just like everyone else's.

I showered, washing my hair with the lavender shampoo. It smelled amazing, literally the best thing I'd ever experienced while in Ellie's bathroom. My costume was freshly ironed, and laying on the bed in the guest bedroom. After drying off, I started getting dressed. I was going to the party as a police officer.

The pants fit me snugly, showing off my ample butt with every step that I took. The shirt was tight, I almost looked like a stripper with the tie hanging loosely around my neck. My dark hair was in a low ponytail, to accommodate the hat.

Ellie joined me downstairs dressed as a very hot prison inmate. "Great minds think alike." She smiled as we left the house.

"I don't doubt it." Her hair was wild; she almost looked like Piper Chapman after she sold a patch of her hair in orange is the new black.

"Did I pull it off?" she asked, strutting.

The pant was so short; I was terrified that it'd get lost in her ass. "Um...Definitely."

*******

The party was amazing. The ballroom was packed with persons dressed in costumes of every origin. I'd been drinking for most of the day, so I was pretty buzzed already. Fruit punch was my drink of choice, for some reason I felt as though I'd need to be sober tonight. Then, I saw someone enter the room. The woman was wearing an all white dress, framing her every curve. It was poofy at the bottom, and her feet were covered in what looked like Cinderella's glass slippers.

The blonde turned around to face me, the small crown on her head making her entire look pop.

"Hey," she said finally.

"I—" I stuttered. "H-wow."

She smiled, "Thanks I guess."

"Where's Ben?" I changed the subject. The dress was strapless and I could see the top of her chest perfectly. Her breasts looked silky, almost edible.

"He went on a business trip yesterday, didn't he tell you?"

I had just seen Ben earlier today, but I decided that it was best I'd kept that to myself. Ellie had wondered off, socialising with her guests. Ashley and I stood there at the drinks table awkwardly for a moment.

"Would you like to—"

"Ashleyyyyy," I heard a familiar voice, cutting me off.

Sophie emerged from the shadows, she was dressed as Lady Gaga...the meat dress era. I had to stifle a laugh at how well she'd managed to pull it off.

"Hey babe," A dark haired girl hugged Ashley. "Told you that dress would look amazing!"

I stood staring at them for a while, before I decided I was being a bit intrusive. Just as I was about to walk away Ashley grabbed my hand, sending shockwaves through my body.

"Robin, these are my friends. You've already met Sophie," she motioned to the walking meat dress. "This is the love of my life, and my best friend Jessica." The dark haired girl shook my hand.

"Nice to meet you,"

"Did someone say something about love?"

I almost burst out laughing as a stuffed animal walked out from behind them.

"Beauty and the beast, nice." I noted.

The beast removed its mask to reveal a platinum blonde woman. Her hair was short, cut in a faux-hawk hairstyle.

"Blame my girlfriend," she rolled her eyes. "I'm Alex, now who are you?"

"This is Ben's sister." Ashley answered for me.

"Well nice to meet you, Ben's a great guy." Alex told me.

Ben is a liar, and I was going to find out exactly why Ashley thinks he's out of state the next time I saw him.

"Sure is," I said, sarcasm clear in my voice. "Now...would you like to dance?" I asked Ashley.

Her friends shrugged, and she led out to the dance floor.

The DJ started playing "Hurricane" by Halsey and Ashley started convulsing wildly.

"Do you call that dancing?" I asked, between breaths. Everyone was staring at her, as she attempted to do a soulful dance to the song, but instead looked like a mad woman.

"I'll show you real dancing." I started dancing wildly too, thrusting my hips left and right. We were the center of attention at the party, and it was embarrassing but being with her...That was the highlight of my night.

Ashley's blonde curls were loose at the end of the night, her cheeks pink from all the wine she'd consumed.

"You're a little drunk," I giggled.

We were in the parking lot of the building—I had no idea how we got here, but the party was far from over. Her friends were amazing too, that Alex girl could be a comedian. As I watched Alex and Jessica together, I couldn't help but feel a little envious.

I've never had friends like hers before, their relationship made me crave for something like that—with anyone. Sure Ellie was great, but she was a grown woman, with responsibilities. We couldn't party as much as I'd like to, or travel spontaneously together.

"You're drunk too," she touched my cheek.

"No, I've been drinking punch all night." I said.

Truthfully, I knew someone would have to drive her home. Ashley leaned against the wall, her eyes closing for long periods before opening again.

"I think it's time for you to get home."

The moon was dark, covered by the clouds. It fit the mood of Halloween; it made everything feel all the more magical. I fished in her purse for the keys and unlocked her car. I lifted her into the back seat, and then drove her home.

Ever so often I found myself glancing back at her, at almost every stoplight. She was beautiful, you could barely see any traces of makeup on her face. It was mostly her natural appearance, and I loved it.

I thought about how bitchy I acted towards her, when I'm sure she was just concerned about me that night. I didn't like feeling exposed, I didn't like people knowing more about me than they should. But, I didn't mind it anymore, as long as it was her.

Half an hour later, I parked in her driveway. I opened the front door, then headed back to the car and lifted her out. I struggled with her up the stairs, and entered what looked like the master bedroom. After placing her under the covers, I flicked light off and was halfway out the door when I heard her.

"Robin,"

"Hmm?"

"Stay," she sounded closer now. I spun and she stood right behind me.

Ashley clasped my cheek, running her fingers along my jaw. She tiptoed and pressed our lips together, the sweet taste of her seeping into my mouth. My tongue fought with hers, and I felt her take the police hat off and toss it to the side. Her fingers tangled in my hair as she kissed me with the most intense feeling of longing I'd ever felt.

Before I knew it, we were falling towards the bed. I was straddling her, holding her arms above her head as she breathed heavily with every kiss.

"You're drunk," I pulled away, still holding her hands captive. "Fuck," I groaned, rolling off of her. I stood a few feet away, staring at her in awe. I couldn't believe what we'd just done, again.

"Barely," she whispered, her voice calm and sultry.

The sound of a zipper echoed through the room, I spun around, my chest tightening as her dress fell the floor. Ashley was standing just a few feet away, silky panties as the only piece of clothing left. Her breasts were creamy and taut, nipples already hard and waiting to be teased.

My body had a mind of its own at this point. My arms reached out for her, pulling her into me. Her soft breasts pressed against my own chest made my body tingle, and that place between my thighs throb. Our lips collided, her soft moans eradicating any care that I'd had before. Her lips were soft and warm against mine.

I lifted her onto the bed, kneeling between her thighs as my fingers fumbled with the buttons of my shirt. I leaned away slightly to pull the shirt off, then tossed it away from us. My hand reached for her cheek, and only then I felt the wetness leaking from her eyes.

"Are you okay?" I asked against her lips. I was trying so hard to calm my body down because something was bothering her. Being in such close proximity of her near nude body wasn't helping much either, so I sat beside her in the bed.

"I'm sorry," she sniffled. "I promise I'm not trying to use you or anything. I really wanted to but i'm with Ben."

It sounded as though she was trying to convince herself, but it still hurt. I was happy for the reminder though, because I could have been a part of a potentially drastic fuck up if we'd actually had sex.

"Right..." I said a little awkwardly. I stood, looking for my shirt that I'd just tossed in a dark corner.

"I'd still like you to stay, please."

She was crying. Ashley was crying, I wasn't sure why but I knew that I didn't like seeing her this way. She was a strong woman, and somehow I knew whatever it was...she'd get over it.

"Fine, but put this on."

She took the shirt from my hands and pinned the first two buttons, leaving the rest open. Lying in bed beside her, I felt content. Although I was still pretty turned on, it wasn't weird between us just laying here. I ran my fingers through her blonde hair a few times, until she finally fell asleep.
