Castiel's POV

Being two weeks into the new school system seemed like a basic routine now. Waking up at irregular hours, Gabe driving me to school — talking the entire time nonetheless — and Charlie at my side. I knew she knew I didn't need her assistance anymore, but the fact that she still stuck by me, well it wasn't something I was used too. But to say the least I enjoyed every minute with her. It was nice to finally have a group of friends (or maybe misfits is a more fitting name) that seemed to like me for me. In the end though, it was something special to me, that I could fit so easily with these unique people. I felt as if I finally belonged

Sitting in my english class, barley even listening to my teacher — Mr. Holland — going on about creative writing, I found myself looking out the window. The mystery boy still hadn't shown his face since the first day of school, and it annoyed me as I felt as if someone was always watching me. Creepy indeed. It might've just been me being paranoid, and maybe my eyes were just playing tricks on me with the shadows — but I still found myself curious as to who he was. I just let out a soft sighed, as I let my eyes travel across the city view.

This city was very different to my hometown. Instead of a direct view of a suburban neighbourhood, or trees lacing the schools property, I was met a lively city. The roads always busy — always filled with more cars than I could count — and horns, sirens. It was interesting to hear a city so alive in its own way. I will admit, the adjustment to this New York school was quite different from my previous homes, but a part of me felt like a kid in a candy shop. I don't know if it was the aesthetic of the city, or just the reminder that I was living in one of the biggest tourist attractions. I think it even was one of the founding locations, for the 'New World' and just to be here, centuries away, well the inner-historian in me was somewhat freaking out.

Startling me out of my thoughts, I felt Charlie tap my shoulder, her permanent smile growing bigger by the second. "Cassie!" She whispered to me. "Did you hear? Ash is having a party tonight at his place," I just shook my head, with a slight frown, "well, you better be coming." She said as she tried her hardest to give me a stern look without (of course) smiling.

"I take it I don't really have much of a choice on this one." I scoffed, smiling down at her. "Nope." She replied, popping the 'p'.

I couldn't help but ask. "Since when did Miss Bradbury go to parties? I mean is there going to be alcohol?" I feigned a gasp. She just giggled as she nodded her head. "Well you know me," she smirked, "I'm always down for a good part-eh." She just winked at me and we both laughed quietly. It was moments like these that made me realize how much I liked Charlie.

The rest of the class just continued on, as I waited impatiently for it to be over. I had never been to a party — especially one with alcohol — so being excited for it was pretty much an understatement.

"Castiel?" I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at my teacher who just had a soft smile, awaiting an answer. "Oh, sorry," I mumbled as I blinked quickly, trying to remember what he asked, "do you mind repeating it?"

Mr. Holland just scoffed. "I was asking if you have a topic yet for your short story?"

"Yeah, I've got some ideas." Was all I mumbled in response. I heard some guy snicker in the background and I had a feeling it was that weird kid with the transformer name. Now that I recalled, he always went on about "loving a good story". He just gave me the chills.

"That's good to hear Castiel," Mr. Holland said as he continued on with explaining his assignment, "So, as you guys know, I want you guys to write about a historic event; example, the French Revolution, or World War I or II. Easy stuff."

Mr. Holland was only met with groans. Well except for that transformer clapping. I just shook my head at him. I don't know what it was but I just didn't like that kid. "Oh quit your complaining!" The teacher couldn't help but shake his head, slightly amused I think. "It's easy, all I'm asking for is five to ten pages of a historic event — New York is filled with history, all you have to do is know where to look." Mr. Holland then began writing a due date on the white board. "I'm giving you guys three weeks — which by the way is plenty of time — now no more complaining!"

As if on queue, the bell rang to dismiss class which only let a smile grow on my face as I quickly packed my books and waited for Charlie. Thankfully, the two of us had a spare as our last period which meant we got to hangout at the local diner. We quickly reached our lockers, talking about possible ideas for the new history project on the way.

When we finally reached the diner and taking our usual spots (a circular booth with cushioned seats) a waitress named Jo came by and to take our orders. She was always so nice, and sometimes joined in on our conversations, plus I believed Charlie to be slightly in love with her. Like right now, Charlie was giving Jo heart eyes. I couldn't help but hum a laugh as I watched them. With an amused shake of my head, and a nudge from me, she quickly ordered our usual —two burger combos and two chocolate milkshakes (they were to die for!). When Jo wrote the orders down, she turned and walked away but not without a little sway of her hips.

"Goda," was all Charlie gasped as she starred, "Cassie I got it bad."

        "Oh believe me I know."

She just turned to me quickly, eyes wide. "And you're okay with me ... liking her?" Her voice was barley above a whisper. Without giving what she was saying much thought, I just shrugged. "Yeah, why not?" When she just continued to stare at me (couldn't tell if it was shock or fear ... maybe both) I realized what she was implying. "Wait are you asking me if I'm okay with you being lesbian?" I said as she just nodded, she looked as if she was just holding her breath. I just offered her a soft smile and gently put my hand on her shoulder. "Charlie I don't care who you like or what gender they are —you're my friend and always will be regardless of your sexual orientation. Plus I kinda I already figured you were interested in girls." I laughed as I shrugged.

"You did?" Her features seemed to soften as I presumed she finally let out that breath she was holding. "I mean, I feel like I've been somewhat open about it, just I haven't really confirmed it with anyone else. I mean, I thought no one really knew." She mumbled as she looked down at her hands.

"Well if it makes you feel any better," her eyes meeting mine, "I'm gay."

"YOU ARE?!" She practically yelled which earned us a few looks from nearby customers.

"Yeah, I mean, I've never been with another guy, but no offence girls just aren't appealing to me. Plus like, have you've seen my style?" I laughed as I tried to lighten the mood. "You think I was just born with this incredible style?" I said a I hinted at my blue jeans, flannel button-down (button's undone just to show enough skin and some necklaces).

      "It's flannel." She giggled.

"Then you should know it's power." I giggled with her while I looked her up and down, my finger following my eyes. She just hit me, getting at what I was indicating, "Shut up, Cassie."

The day continued on with 'good vibes' as Charlie and I somehow became even closer as friends (and to think I thought we were inseparable before, #shook). As we finished up our food, and Charlie managing to get Jo's number (Charlie was completely ecstatic), we each headed home never wanting today to end.

Charlie just dropped me off outside of my house, her little yellow 1974 Gremlin (I only knew the year of it 'cause Charlie believed the car was a beauty ... she wasn't wrong). "Later loser!" She called as she drove away, the Gremlin picking up speed, and just leaving me in its dust. I just sighed with a small smile. "Bye Charles."

I quickly ran up my houses porch steps, and bursting through the door. I waited a second to see if anyone else was home — but I was only met it's silence. "Blessed, it's nap time." I said happily to myself as I threw off beloved trench coat. I then made my way upstairs to my room, and just jumped onto my bed. While laying on the bed, I quickly undressed myself till I was just down to my boxers and sighed contently as I snuggled further into the bed, finding a comfy position.  Before I knew it, I was fast asleep, dreams overwhelming.

When my eyes shot open, I was only starting at dark night sky. I was met with a sudden wave of vertigo — realizing I was no longer in my bed, but instead on the Statue of Liberty. "What the hell?"

Confusion wrapped itself in my mind, as I tried to remember how I had gotten here. Blinking rapidly, trying to make out what I was seeing to be real or not, something caught my attention. At first I couldn't place out what the problem was until it was the only I could see. The moon. It wasn't pure white like I had grown accustomed to, no, instead it shined a bright red.

      An eclipse.

I had only every seen two of these in my life, but this one looked oddly different from the rest. "Cas," I heard a low voice say behind me. I instantly spun around, staring wide eyed at an empty space. "W-who's there?" I groaned, as I realized how stupid I must've sounded. I mentally slapped myself, but kept looking around my surroundings, and that's when I saw him. He was looking at me, his green eyes shining bright with tears making their way down his beautiful face.

"I tried, Castiel." He pleaded shaking his head and looking away from me. For some unknown reason I stepped down from where I was standing and cupped his face in my hands. "I know you did. This isn't the end, we can still make it through this, we can —" I said as I tried to reassure (what for? I don't know).

"No Cas!" He cried out in anger using a shorten version of my name. It felt so right to hear it come from him. "I did this, I couldn't stop him, the Angels are falling all because of me." He went on. He looked mentally defeated. He had dark circles under his eyes, and cuts and bruises on the visible skin. I felt of part of me have sympathy towards him.

"Dean" his name was Dean? How the hell did I know his name!? "we will make it through this. One way or another." I tilted his chin so he was liking into my eyes. He gave me a sad smile, and placed his right hand on my cheek and rubbed it. Before I knew it, he was leaning in, but it felt like slow motion. I watched as he looked up towards me, one last time. But something was different. Something was wrong. Instead of his eyes being a bright green, ones I could get lost in, they were pure black and he smiled so evilly. I tried to get away, but his smile just grew. It didn't look right in him.

"My, my, Cassie, it's great to see you again."

A/N:

So this may have been somewhat of a filler-ish chapter, but hey the party is coming up ;)

Also ik it has been a hot minute (.... or months) since I've updated, but I'm currently at a writers block for mah other story sooooo maybe writing more on this one will help? Let's hope so.

Also as most of you probably already know, Supernatural will be coming to an end after it's 15th season. In my opinion I feel that 15 years, 15 seasons, is a good time to end. The boys have given us quite an epic story with all their twists and turns. It does sadden me to know it is ending, but we all knew it would happen one day, and well I'd rather Supernatural ends than get dragged on and on and eventually become cancelled (if that were to happen). I just want to say that I love the 14 seasons that we have been given and look forward to the final season.

It's just sad to let their story go.
