Chapter 28
Sky POV
After that eventful gym lesson, I said goodbye to Marcia and walked out of the changing room.
"Um, Sky?" She asked as we stepped out into the corridor. I could see Klaus leaning against the opposite wall speaking to some guys I didn't know. His eyes landed on mine quickly before I looked back to Maria.
"Yes?"
"Have you heard anything from Wesley?"
"No, I haven't heard anything from him yet" I frowned. I still hadn't heard anything from him, and I was getting worried and seriously guilty as this awful feeling began to creep up to my stomach. What if something happens to him? I gulped.
"Well, I'm sure he's fine don't worry about it" she smiled reassuringly to me and then I watched as Chase came up behind her, wrapping his arms gingerly around her waist and kissed her neck. She went bright red, and I looked away to see Klaus walking towards me.
"How was your gym lesson?" He asked innocently, and I laughed shaking my head, as his arms circled around my waist.
"It was... Interesting" I nodded, and he laughed lightly lowering his lips to mine, but I pulled back causing him to growl and pull me roughly back to him.
"Don't I deserve a kiss" he pouted.
"Um..." I pretended to think about it, but my mate is un- patient, so he crushed his lips to mine. I squealed against him as he picked me up and wrapped my legs around his wais; our lips not separating for a second as they collided against each other.
"Let's get home girlfriend" he smirked, pulling away to rest his forehead on mine, so we could stare into each other's eyes. He still had hold of me though, so I was blushing profusely as he walked down the corridor.
"Hey Ethan, we're coming back home tonight, so we can hang out. Oh and bring Quinn along too" Klaus grinned amused, and Ethan's jaw dropped, and his eyes bulged in fear. "Oh come on dude, isn't it getting dull in that closet yet?"
What? I looked between Klaus and Ethan confused with not a clue what was going on.
"I don't know what you're talking about" Ethan frowned, but gulped at the same time. He looked like he wanted to either fall into a hole at his feet or run away at full speed.
"Hey, Quinn!" Klaus called again looking over Ethan's shaking shoulder. I wanted just to hug him, he looked so scared, but I had no clue why.
"Um yeah" I looked behind him to see Quinn staring at us before his eyes focused on Ethan.
"Are you free tonight?" Klaus carried on.
"Er yeah... I guess" Quinn muttered stealing another glance at Ethan as he stood there looking awkward.
"Great so you and Ethan can come to the house tonight then? Oh and Sky?" Klaus diverted his gaze to me.
I nodded, so he carried on.
"Your friendly with that Maria girl am I correct?"
"I guess so" I nodded still confused to what was going on.
"Then Quinn invite Chase and Maria also."
Quinn nodded and then lingered behind Ethan looking at him and then looking back to Klaus and me.
"Fine" Klaus muttered and then began to walk down the corridor again, with me still in his arms and legs wrapped around his torso.
"What was that all about?" I wondered out, and Klaus laughed and stared off into space.
"You'll see."
Klaus's POV.
I was still slightly in shock, but the shock had been overridden by the fact that Sky was now officially my girlfriend. All of today's other events paled significantly in comparison to the look of her face when I asked her to be my girlfriend. I couldn't get rid of the image of her cute scarlet blush that appeared on her cheeks as she said - well mouthed yes to me. Yet that didn't make me forget about what I found out.
~Flashback ~
I walked away from the gym changing rooms after saying goodbye. I couldn't help but feel nervous for her. I could hear all the spiteful thoughts from the girls in the room, which I had just allowed my girl to walk into alone. It made me want to go back and get her, but I didn't. Not only would that make me look way to over possessive of her, but it would also be creepy, me a guy walking into the girls changing room, even as Alpha that would look bad.
I forced myself to keep walking as I heard what the girls were saying to her. It caused me physical pain to know she was in distress. She's a soon-to-be alpha female, she knows how to look after herself. She's strong, she'll be fine. I chanted over and over in my head, but I couldn't help but feel nervous. She was mine after all. She was my mate, my angel. I didn't want anyone hurting her, emotionally or physically, but I had to keep away. I didn't want to turn into one of those possessive boyfriends who didn't believe their girlfriend could do anything by themselves.
I turned my attention on the plan in hand, as I turned down a corridor, which was very rarely used. It contained all the supply closets for all the subject departments. I knew that one of these doors was the art supplies closet, another was the janitors closet, another one was the technician's office, another was the lost property closet, and then there was the favored 'furniture closet.' - A closet which was not surprisingly un-locked, due to Nick taking the key once in freshman year and making a dozen copies. Why? You may ask, well it was rarely ever used meaning teachers didn't enter, but one of the main reasons students favored this room to say... the cleaning supply closet, was that in the furniture room has a sofa. It wasn't even an old sofa it was just one from the teacher's lounge, which couldn't fit in once the room was revamped. So of course making-out was much more comfortable on a couch than in a cleaning supply closet.
As I walked down it now, I smiled to myself as I found it occupied, but my expression dropped as I heard two guys in there, which was shocking to me because I didn't think there were any gays at the school. Not that I had anything against them, but it was weird all the same. Why didn't I know about it?
"Quinn" I gulped and backed away from the door, as I heard Ethan grown. I knew something was going on between the two of them. I'd noticed the way they looked at each other, and today during lunch just highlighted my curiously, but having it confirmed by hearing them... together. Was just... shocking. I didn't know what to do, but I certainly wasn't going to open that door. I abruptly turned and continued to walk down the hall to my destination coming to a stop when I went to the media room.
I closed the door and then leaned against it, gaining my composure.
Ethan's gay? I mean Ethan, my soon to be beta is gay? I didn't know what to think of that, so instead, I put the thoughts to the back of my head and went to do what I had intended to do in the first place. Make Sky my girlfriend.
I had time to think about it for after I'd asked her out. When I arrived in - what was left of the calculus lesson all eyes landed on me in awe. My eyes though fell on Quinn and Ethan. They were sitting next to each other, and I wondered to myself how I didn't realize he had moved before now. He used to sit next to me, but thinking about it, ever since I arrived back from my trip he hadn't.
They were talking about some tv show and laughing together, they didn't even notice I'd arrived, they were too intent on each other. I looked into Ethan's eyes as he looked at Quinn and I saw it was the same look of love my parents had for each other; probably the same look I now held when I looked at Sky. Love. I guess my passion for Sky had softened me up a bit because I found myself smiling. I was actually happy for Ethan to have found his mate. He was a good guy. He deserved someone to love him and if a guy was what he wanted then so be it. Who am I to judge? The only thing I was annoyed at though, was the fact he didn't tell me. Did I come across as an alpha who would not accept them? I frowned all lesson, not hearing a word the old bat was saying as I devised a plan to get them to come out of the closet to me.
~ End of flashback ~
It took Sky a while to realize that I wasn't heading back to my parent's house, and when she did, I chuckled slightly at her confused expression.
"Where are you taking me?"
"Well your gran arrived back home last night, so I thought we could tell her... about us" I looked at her unsure.
"What?" She gulped, and I frowned intertwining my hand with hers.
"Don't you want to tell her about us?" I frowned, as I pulled up outside Sky's old house.
"No, of course, I want to tell her about us" she looked up at me confused.
"Then why did you look like that?" I mentioned to the fact she looked unhappy when I told her gran was back.
"Oh, nothing" she shrugged, but the unhappiness never left her eyes. So when she went to open her car door, I stopped her.
"Tell me what's wrong?" I pleaded.
"Just..." she mumbled dropping her gaze from mine.
"Just what?"
"Just! We could have saved fuel and made only one trip" she sighed exasperated, and I frowned at her.
"What?" I asked confused.
"She's back now, s... so I can go home" She stuttered, and I froze.
"You want to go home?" I gulped and then tilted her head up so I could look at her when she didn't reply.
"Do you want to go back here?" I asked again, trying not to let the part of me who was having a crisis, seek into my voice. I didn't want her to leave. She wasn't leaving me if she wanted to move back here, I was moving with her. I wasn't going to let her live in the middle of nowhere without my protection.
"Answer me!" I growled and immediately regretted it as I saw tears roll down her cheek. "Shhh, sorry I didn't mean to get mad" I whispered, wiping the tear away with my thumb.
"I should go back," she whispered dropping her gaze once again.
"I don't want you to" I breathed, and then realized I'd just said that out loud. She looked up to me, her eyes glistening, as a small smile appeared on her lips.
"I don't want to stay with your parents anymore" she whispered.
"Why?" I felt slightly offended that she didn't want to stay with my parents, did something happen between them without me knowing?
"B...because, I feel like I'm intruding on their space" she frowned.
"You're not! They love you like their daughter" I reassured her, but it just seemed to make her look away again.
"I know" she gulped. "But living with them reminds me too much of my parents... I miss them Klaus" tears ran down her cheeks, and I pulled her into my chest and wrapped one arm around her back while the other went to stroke her hair.
"It's okay angel" I murmured in her ear, and she nodded.
"I know." she cried. "Just promise me you'll never leave me."
"I promise I won't leave you, Skylar, you mean too much to me to ever let go. You have me forever" I smiled against her hair, and I could tell she was smiling too, so I took the opportunity to add. "That's why I can't let you go back to live with your grandma. We can move into my place if you want, but wherever we go, where move together. I won't ever leave you, Skylar Evans. You're mine."
"That sounds nice" She whispered, and I sighed in relief, she still wanted to live with me. We stayed in a peaceful silence for a few minutes just happy in each other's arms.
"Come on, I want to see my grandma."
"Okay, let's go say hello to grandma" I smirked, but inside I was kind of nervous. She raised her eyebrow at me.
"Grandma?"
"What I've never had a grandma before" I shrugged, and she laughed.
"Okay I'll share," she giggled.
We walked up to the old cottage hand in hand, and she looked at me and smiled as she knocked on the door. She must have noticed me shifting on my feet because she tightened her grip reassuringly as the door opened.
"GRANDMA!" Okay, what happened to reassurance?! Her hand let go of mine the moment Gran opened the door.
"Hey dear, how are you?"
"I'm fine Gran, how's your friend?"
"She's fine..." she chuckled as they pulled away from each other. "How's your friend?" Gran asked her eyes centered on me.
"Um, can we come in?" Sky asked avoiding the question for the moment, but there was no doubt that Gran would ask again. She waved her arm and stepped aside, letting us walk past her.
"Klaus" She nodded, and I felt nervous again. She looked like an interrogator. What happened to a milk and cookie grandma?
Sky pulled me down beside her on the couch and held my hand in her lap as Gran sat in front of us on an old rustic rocking chair.
"So Klaus, care to explain to me why you're in my house, sitting on my couch and holding my only granddaughter's hand?"
"er, yes ma'am, you see your granddaughter and me... well we're."
"We're mates!" Sky interrupted me with a grin.
Gran looked between the two of us shocked.
"What?"
"Gran, Klaus is my mate," Sky said again but slower this time.
"Oh" was all she said, and we were left with this awkward atmosphere.
"You're not playing her around are you?" Gran spoke after a while.
"No ma'am, I care very much for your granddaughter," I replied honestly and then looked over to Sky and smiled.
"Do you love her?" she carried on, and I could feel my insides shift uncomfortably at the mention of the 'L' word. I hadn't thought consciously of it. Unconsciously though, was a different story altogether. Thinking about it now, I knew the answer to her question straight away, but I wasn't going to answer her. I hadn't confessed to Sky yet, so I wasn't just going to blurt it out to her Grandma.
I stayed quiet and gulped as Sky's grip on my hand loosened. I looked at her to see what was wrong, but she didn't even look at me. She was looking away from her gran and me.
"Will you please excuse us one moment?" I asked Gran. She was frowning but eventually nodded. With approval, I pulled Sky off the sofa, and lead her out of the living room.
"I'm going to go grocery shopping" I heard gran mutter and then just left without even grabbing her handbag, which I saw was on the steps as I pulled Sky up them. We were at the top landing when I heard Gran drive away and I for that I was grateful that she had given us some time alone.

"Where's your room?" I asked, and she nodded to the door closest to us, I opened it up to see her room for the first time. I closed the door behind us and then turned to see Sky was staring out of the window with her back to me. There was a storm swelling, and in the distance, you could hear the brewing of thunder far away in the surrounding forest. The rain was hitting the window roughly, and every now and then the room would illuminate with a crash of thunder, but apart from that the room was dark.
"Sky" I whispered, stepping closer but then stopped.
"Have you ever been in love Klaus?" She asked, without turning around.
"No n..."
"O...okay" she whispered cutting me off and in turn breaking my heart, as I saw her quiver slightly and hold on to the window ledge for support.
"Sky I..."
"I don't want to hear it, Klaus." She whispered, and I knew she was crying as her body vibrated as she sobbed.
"Let me explain" I tried again, but she stopped me.
"No, go. Get out of here!" she sobbed, and I felt my heart clench at her pain.
I walked up behind her and didn't hesitate as I wrapped my arms around her waist. She struggled against me, but I only held her tighter and turned her around to face me. Tears were running down her face as she hit my chest and I let her, knowing I deserved it because I caused her pain. After a minute she calmed down and sunk into my chest.
"I hate you!" she cried. I clenched my hand into a fist around her top, pulling her close as my insides ached.
"No, you don't" I shook my head and buried my face into the side of her neck.
"I do" she muttered but didn't try to pull away from me anymore.
"Well that's too bad because I think I'm in love with you" I murmured, and she froze in my arms.
"W..what?"
"Angel I love you so much. It hurts me that you think that I don't."
"Bu... but with gran, you didn't reply, and t... then just now you said you've never been in love."
"I've never been in love, yes, but if you let me continue I was about to say; until I met you and then you had me from... well..." I trailed off, hoping she wasn't listening.
"Since when?" she pulled back and smiled amused.
"Er..." I looked away.
"Tell me?" she pouted.
"Since I first saw you," I muttered, looking anywhere but her.
"Klaus" She whispered, and she pulled my chin up so she could search my eyes. I smiled slightly as she bit her lip. She looked so adorable when she did that.
"Sky" I whispered stepping closer to her until she was pressed against me, and one of my legs were between hers. I let my lips graze across her jaw, and she shivered against me. When she looked away, my lips went to her neck and trailed kisses across her pale skin.
"I..." I trailed off as my lips swept across her neck to her shoulder blade. I pushed her backward until she hit the window ledge. I sat her on it and stepped in-between her legs. Her hands tangled themselves in my hair, while mine ran down her waist as I nestled my face into the side of her neck letting my lips latch onto her skin. She squirmed against me as I began to suck, causing me to smile slightly.
"Ah" she whimpered, arching her body against mine. I kissed the love bite I'd just created and then let my face nestle into her neck, allowing her mouth-watering sent to overwhelm me; so much so, that I didn't notice that she was undoing my shirt buttons. When I did, I pulled back to see her flushed face.
"I...I, um" she dropped her gaze in embarrassment. I decided to finish off for her and let my shirt fall to her bedroom floor. She still hadn't looked up at me, so I stepped closer bracing my hand on the cold window beside her head, while my other ran up her neck to cup her cheek and slowly begin to tilt her head up to look at me. Her beautiful blue eyes swept over my naked chest before meeting my gaze. She gulped as I leaned closer to her, stopping a few centimeters away. I held there until her eyes fluttered back open to stare into mine.
"I love you" I whispered and then closed my eyes and leaned in the rest of the way to crash my lips to hers.
She responded immediately as her hands caressing my abs sending shivers through my body, as our lips collided together. My hand slowly going down her neck to her shoulder blade, I hesitated for a moment before slipping her sweater down her shoulder. I broke away from the kiss and looked into her eyes to see if it was all right, she gave a nervous nod, and I pulled off her jacket, leaving her in her vest top. My hands went under it, caressing her soft skin as she pulled my lips back to hers, this time opening her mouth, so our tongues danced together fighting for dominance until she gave in to me with a moan, which had my whole body tingling. I could feel her shivering under my touch which just turned me on even more.
My hands went to her back and caressed circles into her cold skin, It was then that I realized the window was freezing and her back was cold against it, so I wrapped my arms around her waist, keeping our lips connected as I carried her over to her bed. I laid her gently on the duvet and leaned over her with my elbow resting by her side supporting my weight, as her hands ran up the plains of my back. I shivered knowing I was getting seriously turned on by her, but at the same time getting annoyed with myself because I didn't want to scare her again. Our lips parted, and I smiled as she gasped for breath, her chest rubbing against mine, my lips attached to her shoulder trailing kisses across her collarbone, as she played with my hair. Damn, she's beautiful...
**Beautifully innocent and is going to stay like it under my roof!** I cringed away from her, as I heard Gran's thoughts in my head.
"* Uh sorry** I thought back to her, feeling embarrassed. Great first impression Klaus. Not. I wonder how much she knew...
**Enough! Son definitely enough! Oh good heavens! Put on a shirt lad there's a storm out!**
I nearly choked on embarrassment as Sky laughed at me.
"Someone's blushing" she smirked, her hand caressing my cheek. "What's the matter?"
"um, gran's back" I frowned.
"Oh..." she gasped and looked away. "Did she...?" she trailed off.
"Um... yeah" I nodded.
"Do you wanna jump out the window and run away? I don't think I could face her after knowing she... you know, um heard us."
I grinned, and so did she, we didn't need words to agree on what to do.
"Time to have some fun" I grinned.
"What? I don't get it why did you want Quinn to come, he's not even in your pack."
"You'll see" I smirked, and laughed. Oh, this is going to be one hell of a fun... get together.
"What time are they getting there?" she asked.
"They'll be there now" I grinned, and I couldn't wait. Ethan, you don't know what's coming to you. I thought as we both shifted into our wolves and jumped out the window.
**Nice to meet you Grandma!** I bellowed to her in my head.
**Yeah, yeah just don't make me a great-grandma tonight! Use protection got it!** I laughed to myself, relieved Sky couldn't hear us otherwise she would be blushing like a beetroot right now.
