After Stefan got settled in at the Mikaelson mansion, he showed them Gabby's letter to him and when he read it to them, they were not happy to learn she was in New Orleans putting her life in danger.
Damon most of all was not happy after Stefan read it; he smashed everything in his room. He even tried calling, but she didn't answer and that worried all of them. Stefan left out the part about Tyler and how Damon, Elena, and Tyler couldn't be trusted.
Now everyone is at the Salvatore boarding house except Stefan, Erin, Caroline, Bonnie, Tyler, Kayla, and Liv. They went shopping for Hope. Stefan wanted the girls to help out and find something for Hope.
It was always him who got her stuff. They were cute, but right now he was going to ask his friends for help; a girl's opinion. He usually had to ask the women clerks at the stores.
Tyler went because he wanted to be with Liv, but he didn't find out till later that this shopping was for Hope. He and Elena were not happy about it, but Bonnie and Caroline straightened up Elena and Liv did the same to Tyler.
It's been three days and everyone loves Hope except Tyler, Elena, and Damon. But out of all, none loved her more than Lillian and Gracia. Now at the boarding house, Hope is watching Jeremy and Jontae play video games.
Leaving Hope alone with them made Stefan nervous, but he was going to have to try and trust them. Hope asks "what does this button do JerBear and JonJon?"
She presses it and they groan. Jeremy says "it turns off the video game. Come on and sit right here, Hope." He pats the seat next to him and she goes and sits next to him.
Hope has come up with little nicknames for everyone except Tyler, Elena, and Damon because she knows they don't like her. Jontae goes and turns the game back on.
When he does, they go back to playing their game: zombie nation. A part comes up when they -including Hope- see a zombies head pop off. Hope whimpers a little seeing that. Jontae says "cover your eyes Hope." Jeremy covers her eyes and Damon comes out along with everyone else.
He says "if Stefan was here, he would kill you both." He turns off the TV and video game and Hope says "Daddy S, wouldn't hurt JerBear or JonJon." Damon says, rudely "right, whatever you say little girl."
Everyone except Hope glares at him. Hope looks at him sadly and asks "you don't want me here do you?" Her saying that took everyone by surprise. Brennon says "of course we do Hope."
Hope says "not you Bren... Damon!" Damon says "I just don't enjoy dirty animals sitting on my furniture." After he says that, everyone glares at him angrily.
Hope feels like she's about to cry, but pushes it away and giggles a little and says "that's no way to talk to JerBear or JonJon." Damon smirks at her and says ignorantly "you're right. It's not, that's why I was talking about you." Ric, Kai, and Shontae yell at the same time "enough Damon!"
Hope is on the verge of tears and Damon says "what? Like you really want her here. The only reason we're all putting up with you is because if you leave, Stefan leaves and we don't want HIM to leave. But one day, he won't want you anymore. Hell, your real parents didn't even want you. Why do you think you're here right now? Then I just found out my baby sister is in New Orleans with your freak show of a family risking her life to save you. Nothing but A MISTAKE! A MONSTER!... JUST LIKE YOUR FATHER!"
He gets interrupted when he is sped against the wall by Greg. After hearing everything he said to Hope, Greg was heated angry at Damon. Everyone was trying to cheer up Hope -who was crying her eyes out because of what Damon said to her- especially Gracia and Lillian, who were at the moment very disappointed in Damon.
Greg smelled the alcohol on his breath. He groans and says "you're drunk!" And Damon says "got to do something with that fetus running around here. Did you forget everything Klaus did to us?"
Greg states "KLAUS! Not Hope! You're blaming a little innocent girl for her father's sins, it's sad. What you said about Stefan leaving if she did? Well keep acting this way towards her and he will. Is that what you want? Our little brother to leave yet again."
Damon looks down silently because he doesn't want his little brother to leave again. He looks at Greg sadly and walks away and out of the door. Greg turns around and sees everyone trying to cheer her up, but nothing's working.
Only one person will be able to cheer her up. Stefan. Greg gets out his phone and dials Stefan. Savannah says "Greg, call Stefan!" And Greg says "I'm already on it."
Stefan's POV
I'm glad I have Caroline, Kayla, Erin, Liv, and Bonnie here with me. Finally, someone who can talk to Hope about girl stuff and can get the right things for her.
I already see that Hope is searching for a mother figure and I think she sees Caroline as that. Caroline loves Hope as much as Hope loves her. Speaking of the devil, Caroline runs up to me squealing happily then shows me a little purple dress in Hope's size.
She gives it to me and says "isn't it cute? I know she's not a fan of dresses, but once I get through to her she'll love them." I laugh a little and I see Liv, Bonnie, Kayla, Erin, Tyler, and Elena come over with some clothes. They hand them to me.
Caroline took them from me and looked through them and put back the one's that didn't look like Hope's style. Tyler and Elena really look like they don't want to do this. I ask "you know, can you two at least try and get to know her? She's not her father."
They sigh and smile a little. Tyler says "okay, it won't be easy, but I'll try." I smile at him and look at Elena. She nods her head agreeing and I smile brighter and say "thank you. Okay, we're all done, time to pay and go home!" They nod their heads and we go wait in line.
I suddenly hear my phone ring and I take it out of my pocket. I see the screen name says it's Greg. Why is he calling me? Did something happen? Is Hope okay?
I pick up and the first thing to reach my ears is Hope crying. I'm angry as hell right now. Why is she crying? I ask angry as hell "why is she crying?!" Bonnie, Liv, Kayla, Tyler, Elena, and Erin narrow their eyes and frown in confusion.
Phone Conversation
Greg~ Damon said some mean and hurtful things to Hope and now she's crying.
Me~ What did he say to her?
Greg~ Just get here as soon as you can; she needs you. She won't listen to us, but she will listen to you.
Me~ Alright, I'm on my way.
Greg~ Okay, hurry.
Me~ Where's Damon now?
Greg~ Gone for now.
Me~ Good. I'll see you soon.
End of Phone Conversation
Oh, just wait till I get my hands on Damon; he's dead! I look at everyone and Erin says "go! We got this!" I nod my head and say "thank you!" I run out the store and get into my car and go to Hope.
When I'm here, I vamp speed out my car and inside. I yell out "Hope, sweetie?!" I walk into the living room and see everyone gathered around her, trying to cheer her up.
When she hears my voice, she turns to me and I see her eyes are red and puffy from crying. Damon's a dead man. She runs to me and I get on my knees. When she's in my arms, I hold her tight and she asks "Daddy S? You love me right?" And I say while rubbing her back "of course I do! Remember? More than anything!"
She asks "am I a mistake and a monster?" I'm going to kill Damon. I say "absolutely not! You could never be a monster or a mistake!" She asks "is it true my parents didn't want me? Is my dad a monster?"
If I see Damon he is as dead as a door mouse. I say "no it's not, they love you. They sent you away to protect you because you're their precious little girl. And your father... everything he does, he does to protect the people he loves, including you, H."
I'm not going to lie to her and say Klaus hasn't done some bad things that makes him a monster. I'll never lie to her. But I have learned that everything he does, he does for his family.
She pulls away and smiles at me and I smile back. She asks "can you tell me the story?" And I say "of course, come here." I bring her into my arms and I pick her up and she rests her head on my shoulder.
I look at everyone and they're smiling at us. They see how protective I am of Hope and how fatherly I am towards her. I walk over to the rocking chair and everyone gathers around, I guess wanting to hear the story too.
I say "Once upon a time, there was a majestic king. He was blessed with a beautiful baby daughter, for whom he only wished peace. Still the king had demons that would pursue him. There was a coven of evil witches that wanted the king to suffer and in order for it to happen, they went after his daughter. There is another threat. A very powerful sorceress, wanted to steal the child and use her for her powers. The evil sorceress was the aunt of the king. Then the final threat, the eldest brother of the entire family, wanted nothing more than to get rid of the king and his other siblings. He too tried to go after the princess. Seeing the shadows of his enemies upon his home, the king was driven to send his beloved princess away. Convincing all including his enemies that she was forever lost."
After I was done telling her it, she falls asleep and momma G says "that's a great story." I say getting up "yeah, and very true, too." They look at me in confusion then become shocked, now understanding that the story is really based off the Mikaelson's.
I say "yeah." I carry Hope outside to my car and put her in her car seat. I tell the others goodbye and that I'll see them tomorrow. I drive back to the house and when I'm there, I carefully take her out of her seat, trying to not to wake her.
When I have her in my arms, I take her to her room and tuck her in. Afterwards, I go to my room and get dressed into my pajamas and go to bed. After a while, I fall asleep finally thinking about the day Klaus and Hayley will come get Hope and take her away from me.
