Asha woke up with a jolt. With a quick intake of breath, she opened her eyes abruptly. The drooping branches of the jacaranda tree came into sight. The sun peered through the tangled spaces between branches and leaves like it was trying to push its way through. With the sun on its back, every twig and every leaf seemed like haloed shadows. It wasn't long when her view was blocked by another silhouette.
