Jamie's POV
My friends and I had a crazy time at my slumber party. It was just around midnight. As soon as I got into bed and put my head on my pillow, I felt something cold and familiar. I lifted it and saw yet another snowflake. I have had one ever since I can remember. After I saw this, I went downstairs to see if I could get anything.
"Okay, I don't understand. Every night I have seen a snowflake under my pillow. Whenever it wasn't winter, I would always feel a cold chill in any building. I'm really grateful for everything you've done, but I'm still confused. Please let me see you. I would like to see the one responsible for giving me snowflakes under my pillow and cold chills that I have always enjoyed. Please," I pleaded.
That's when I saw snow all around me. I couldn't help but giggle. I turned around and saw a boy with white hair, a blue hoodie, brown pants, and a staff. I couldn't help but notice how hot he was.
"Hi," he said shyly.
"Hi," I replied.
"You can see me?" he asked.
"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be able to?" I asked.
"Well, not many people your age believe in the guardians," he explained.
"Oh," I said then added, "So, you're the guy whose been doing this stuff for me?"
"Yeah. My name is Jack Frost," he introduced.
"Nice to meet you. And I'm Jamie," I introduced.
"I know," he smiled.
That made me giggle.
"So, how long have you been doing this?" I asked, blushing.
"Since nine months before you were born," he confessed.
"Wow," I said amazed, "So, could I ask what you're doing here?"
"Well, the guardians asked me to tell you that you're the next guardian," he told me.
I was beyond shocked. I thought I didn't hear him correctly. Could he be telling me the truth?
"Wait what?" was all I could say.
"Yeah. They need you at the pole," he told me then held his hand out asking, "May I???"
"Sure," I said, accepting his hand.
He pulled me close to him and flew me out the door. I got a little scared, but I figured that someone who has watched over me my whole life could be trusted.
"Wait, what about my friends at my house?" I asked when we were halfway there.
"Don't worry. I'll have you back before you know it," he promised me.
That made me smile. I really liked this guy. There's just something about him that makes me smile so big. And I love that.

Jack's POV
I brought Jamie to the pole and introduced her to the others.
"So, Jack tells me that I was chosen to be the next guardian," Jamie brings up.
"Yes. Manny chose you to be the next guardian. He wouldn't exactly say who you would become, but I think it was because he wanted you to experience it for yourself," North explained.
"Yes. We believe that you could help us with defeating Pitch Black. He's been trying to get to you for some time, mate," Bunny said.
"Me? Why me?" Jamie asked.
Sandy used his sand to explain the situation, but she couldn't make it out. So Tooth explained for him.
"Well, Pitch knows about you possibly becoming a guardian. So he has tried to get to you to scare you into not doing it. But Jack kept protecting you," Tooth said.
"Wait a minute. Jack said that he watched over me since I think September 1996," she said.
"Well actually, whenever I could I'd watch over you. The only time I couldn't was when Pitch attacked, when I had to go to a meeting with the others, or had to do my job as a guardian," I explained.
"Oh," she understood.
"Do you have any questions for us?" North asked.
"A couple. First, who is Pitch Black?" she asked.
"He's the Boogeyman. He turns dreams into nightmares and can bring fear into people's lives," Tooth explained.
"Okay. Second, what do I have to figure out for myself in order to become a guardian?" Jamie wondered.
"Your center. Each guardian has a center to make them a guardian. North has wonder, Tooth has memories, Sandy has dreams, I have hope, and Jack has fun," Bunny said.
"Alright. And last, who is Manny?" Jamie asked.
"Come with me," North urged.
