"This is crazy!" Pietro shouts over the roaring sound of the riving, clinging to the rope keeping you above the rushing water. "We will die!"
"It'll work!" You shout back, wiggling your toes in your boots nervously. "I'm like, 20% sure this plan will work. The other 80% means we could die horribly and violently, but honestly it's a really solid plan!"
"No!" He looks up at the bridge the ropes are tied to and squints. "The current will pull us under! If I could climb up and-"
"HYDRA is up there!" You tighten your slipping grasp on the material and glance down. The distance is roughly 30 feet, and if you remember correctly, you shouldn't break anything from this height. "We'll have a better chance if we just jump!"
"You are crazy-!"
Swallowing your paralyzingly nerves, you force your fingers to loosen and when you're free falling, you and Pietro both scream.
The moment you hit the water, you're having second thoughts about your plan. The harsh current grabs at your clothes, dragging you deeper into the freezing steam. Your lungs scream for air, but you clamp your lips shut and claw at the water, trying to get to the surface, but only succeed in loosing more air.
Then suddenly, you're pulled up and heaved out of the water, landing hard on your back as you cough and sputter up water.
"(Y/n)!" Pietro shouts hoarsely, flopping down next to you and he shakily pushes stands of wet hair out of your face. He smiles tiredly when he sees you conscious. "You could have died! You almost did if I would not have saved you!"
You continue to suck in much needed oxygen, your reply a small grin and a thumbs up. "Told you the plan would work."
