I nervously played with the bottom of my dress. I paced back and forth waiting for the perfect time. I was gonna ask the cutest kid in school; Parker. I've had a crush on him for a while and this is moment to do it. I walked up to him greeting his friends. One of his friends in particular smiled at me with kind eyes, more like lust.
"H-hey Parker" I stuttered smiling.
"Hey y/n" he chuckled.
"So I was wondering if you wanted to be my date to homecoming?" I asked nervously urging myself not to throw up or bite my finger nails.
"Oh um no?" He chuckled rudely.
"Right, oh that's fine, sorry I asked" I replied walking backwards running into a chair.
I was humiliated, his friends chuckled except one. The same one who smiled at me. He punched Parkers shoulder chasing after me. I wiped away tears sliding down my back next to the drama hall. He towered over me smiling.
"Are you here to make fun of me?" I scoffed holding my knees to my chest.
"No. But that was really fucked up of Parker to do" he replied sitting next to me.
I scooted away and sighed.
"That's the second time he's rejected me for the dances and it's my junior year!" I said.
I couldn't believe how big of loser I actually am. For trying was my first mistake. I mean he's Parker Hall! The cutest kid in our school. I looked over at the stranger who seemed to be interested in me. His brown eyes made me shiver. He was pretty attractive himself.
"What's your name?" I asked sticking out my hand.
"Shawn! Shawn Mendes" he smiled shaking it.
I smiled and nodded.
"well if you could not tell Parker I'm a wimp that'd be a great" I scoffed leaning back.
"Why would I do that?" He asked.
"Because I am. And I'm not going to homecoming, so everybody will think I'm a loser" I shouted angrily.
"But you're not going alone" he replied calmly.
"What?"
"I'm gonna take you" he suggested.
"What? No. You don't want to take this loser to homecoming. I'm ugly, fat, obnoxious, everything" I sobbed into my knees.
"But you're completely opposite of all those things!" He chuckled sitting in front of me this time.
"How do you know, you just met me"
"B-because, although you've had the biggest crush on Parker for your whole life. Someone else is in love with you" he replied passionately pulling at a piece of paper sitting between us.
"What?" I asked wiping my tears.
He looked up meeting eyes with me and smiled. He leaned in pressing his lips on mine cupping my face. I could feel eyes sitting on me from every corner. But I didn't care, time seemed to stop when he kissed me. He let go and chuckled.
"I'm sorry I shouldn't have done that" he chuckled biting his lip.
"Yes" I said smiling.
"Yes what?" He asked confused.
"I'll go to homecoming with you Shawn" I replied smiling cheekily.
He chuckled again and I pulled at his collar pressing my lips on his. Parker who?
