"I have a long way to go, but why am I running in place? I Scream out in frustration, but the empty air echos. I hope tomorrow will be different from today. I'm just wishing..."

~Tomorrow-BTS

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The doctor lead him by the shoulder out of the room. Out of that stupid room. Taehyung felt a whole new sense of freedom he hadn't felt in a long time. He could hardly keep his breathing regular. He couldn't believe it, it was too good to be true, and though he was excited and happy, in the back of his head, he kept thinking this was some sort of joke, that any second the doctor would turn him around, saying, 'I changed my mind.'
But it didn't happen, the doctor stopped at the front desk, speaking with the secretary, Taehyung wasn't listening, but he caught that the doctor was signing a few things with his name on them. Taehyung was almost hyperventilating, but told himself to stay calm, to get as far away from here before he got too excited.
They led him out of the building, and he felt like he was holding his breath, he probably was, he felt like he might cry. But he held it in as the doctor helped him into the backseat of a car, something that was hard with Taehyung wearing a straightjacket, but they eventually got him in.
Before closing the door, the doctor patted him in the shoulder and smiled. "Just let someone know if you want to come back, alright?"
Go to hell. Taehyung thought inwardly, but just looked back at the doctor. Who would want to come back to this hellhole?
The doctor smiled again before closing the car door, and Taehyung watched as he stepped back, talking with a lady in a blazer and pencil skirt, her hair in a ponytail. She looked about middle aged, and Taehyung wondered if that was the head Psychiatrist, they'd never taken him to see her, he'd seen a few psychiatrists while he was there, but never her.
Taehyung looked over next to him when he felt someone else get in the car. It was that guy, the psychiatrist's son, he sat a seat away from Taehyung, leaving the seat in the middle empty. He folded his arms over his chest, glancing at Taehyung.
"I don't know why mom is doing this." He said, obviously upset. "You're probably just going to break everything in the house." His voice was a tad higher then Taehyung would have thought, it was higher then his own anyway.
No, I won't break anything, I'd never do that, I'm not crazy.
The girl--the psychiatrist's daughter--sat in the front passenger seat, putting on her seatbelt and taking a book out of her purse. A book? Taehyung would have thought she'd take out her phone to read, like most people did.
"Kyung-mi, he's going to rip all the pages out of your books." The guy in the backseat with him said in a mocking tone.
Kyung-mi... that's a pretty name.
She turned around and glared at her brother. "Stupid, he's wearing a straightjacket, he can't rip anything!" Then she whispered. "And would you stop? He's right there...! What if you make him mad?" She stole a glance Taehyung's way.
Taehyung felt his heart drop into his stomach. She thought he was crazy. She thought he was a killer like everyone else. He almost cried, but then just ended up keeping the blank expression he'd come to make since he was admitted. Why can't anyone give me a chance? Why does everyone just believe all of their lies?
"Mom will probably take that off you know, you know how mom is about her patients and clients. She'll baby him, he'll have the run of the whole damn house!" The psychiatrist's son continued. "This is going to suck."
"Jimin!" Kyung-mi hissed. "Stop!"
"Stop what?" The lady with the blazer said, opening the driver side door and getting in the driver's seat. "Are you two arguing again?"
"He keeps saying all this stupid stuff about him! What if he understands and gets mad?" Kyung-mi asked, her voice a whisper, but it was loud enough for Taehyung to hear every word.
Understands? There's a difference between crazy and stupid, and Taehyung wasn't either. He looked down at his lap. This was just another cage wasn't it? Just more people who didn't like him, more people that didn't love him, didn't like him. Was it just not possible that anyone would treat him like a person? Was he not a person in everyone else's eyes?
The lady--probably their mom, sighed. "Kyung-mi, I've told you, he's very calm, he wouldn't hurt anyone, he's not dangerous, even if that stupid ass doctor likes to think so."
Taehyung looked up, the corner of his mouth twitched, wanting to smile at that statement, but he kept the smile to himself. Maybe the psychiatrist wasn't that bad...
She started the car, smiling at Taehyung in the rearview mirror. "It's okay, you'll be fine."
For once, it didn't sound like an outright lie. Maybe it would be a little better, maybe this would change everything. But Taehyung tried not to get his hopes too high.
~~~

It wasn't that long of a drive, and Taehyung was slightly disappointed, he'd wanted to get as far away from that hellhole of a mental hospital as possible, but they only lived 15 minutes away from it. The ride itself wasn't bad, Taehyung wouldn't know if they said anything else about him, because they hadn't used his name and Taehyung had tuned out.

He kept thinking about his 'family'. His adoptive family that hadn't loved him, and made him think that they did. Kept thinking about what he'd done to his 'Appa', trying to think if maybe he could have done that all differently, none of this would have happened. He might not have been happy, but he wouldn't be 'crazy' either.

The car stopped in front of a house, cream in color, two stories, but still looking kind of small on the outside, the lawn was perfect, with flowers and a walkway leading to the front door and branching off to a fenced backyard. It was the ideal house of a perfect family, a family that actually loved each other.

The Psychiatrist helped Taehyung out of the car, it being hard to do so in a straightjacket without hitting his head. Kyung-mi and Jimin had already started heading toward the house. Their mother was fiddling with the keys, closing the car door after Taehyung.

She looked up at him for a second and smiled. "It's alright, go ahead, I'll catch up."

Taehyung froze. What? She wasn't going to lead him to the door? Taehyung wasn't sure what to think. No one had let him go anywhere without leading him there like he was a prisoner, he almost didn't know what to do. That's stupid, you're a person, you can walk to a door by yourself.

"Ahh." Taehyung's mouth formed an 'O'. He hadn't made any sort of noise like that in such a long time, that he checked with the Psychiatrist to make sure it was alright. She hadn't even looked up.

It felt strange--even though it was perfectly normal--to walk up to the front door without someone behind him, or holding some part of his body, but when he got there he felt almost...free in a way.

Kyung-mi had taken a step back when he walked up to the door. And it seemed like the most noticeable thing ever, like a silent way of telling Taehyung that she didn't want him too close to her. It hurt. It hurt more then she could imagine.

Her mom came walking up to the door, flipping through her keys before sticking one in the lock and unlocking the door, "Okay, now I want you to be nice to Taehyung, please, treat him like he's your new brother, alright?" She looked back and forth between Jimin and Kyung-mi. "Forget where he came from, okay? We want him to get better, not worse." Her gaze lingered on Kyung-mi, communicating with the look for a second.

Then she opened the door, holding it open for everyone to come inside before shutting it and locking it again.

Inside was nice, a light blue couch sitting in the living room along with a reclining chair, and a coffee table in front of it, covered in magazines and remotes along with someone's laptop. On the wall across from it was a TV in a cabinet, the doors currently open wide and the glass shelves on either side filled with movies and video games. Directly across from the door, to the right of the couch, was open space, the wall housing a fireplace with a round rug in front of it. Right behind the couch was a staircase, leading up to the second floor.

A white poodle came running up to Taehyung, barking and running around his legs, tongue lolling out of his mouth as he wagged his short tail frantically.

Kyung-mi went straight upstairs, running up the steps fast, and Taehyung wanted to think it wasn't because of him. Jimin just sat on the couch, leaning back against the cushions and closing his eyes.

"Looks like someone likes you." The Psychiatrist said, talking about the dog, smirking. "Here, let's get that thing off of you." She said, gesturing to the straightjacket. "Let me just get some scissors, those knots are way too tight."

Taehyung was dumbstruck. This couldn't be happening. He had to be dreaming, this was too good to be true, too perfect to be true. Where was the catch? There had to be one, no one just liked him, he knew that now, he knew it better then anything by now. Everyone lies, especially to me.
