I climbed on top of the old tree next to my house. The sun sat on the edge of the world making me feel bigger then I actually am. The way the branches extended almost all the way to the next neighbors house. The leaves were starting to grow back since we were so close to summer time. I've been counting down for my sophomore year to be over. I hated school but I was still a good student. This tree was my happy place. This is where I came to think. To do my homework. To read. Everything. It was my tree. It use to be our tree, well Shawn and i's until he decided to not be my friend anymore in the 5th grade. He's the biggest asshole on the campus now so i don't pay much attention to him anymore. Sometimes he'll look at me when I'm walking down the hall with my friends but he's probably just checking out their asses. He disgusts me. I told him I liked him and he totally ignored me a little bit back. I think the last time we talked was when he asked me for a pencil in biology. I shook my head from the thought focusing back towards the sunset. I heard cracking below and jumped a little. I looked down to see a face I didn't want to see: Shawn.
"What are you doing here?" I asked rudely.
"I come here too thank you very much" he scoffed sitting in the branch next to me.
"Oh wow I didn't think that big trap held words for me" I replied snobby.
He chuckled leaning his head backwards.
"Nice one y/n" he replied.
I nodded letting out a big sigh.
"I'm really sorry y/n" he said sincerely this time.
"Yeah?! Well you should be Shawn! You're an asshole!" I snapped.
He sighed.
"I know"
"What?" I asked sitting up looking at him confused.
"I'm the biggest asshole to you and I shouldn't be, because-because"
I waited for him to finish.
"Because I love you" he said rather fast but all the words felt like they came out slowly.
My face went blank and my heart stopped. I didn't know what to say so, I crawled over to him, sat on his lap, and pressed my lips on his. I've been waiting a long time to do this. I shouldn't but I couldn't help myself. He deepened the kiss by holding my neck closer to his face. I felt like I was floating on a cloud. The kiss felt like an eternity.
