2 Days Later
It's been two days since we found that girl on the run, she's been in and out if consciousness, mumbling things.
I've been hanging out with her, sitting beside her, holding her hand, praying for her. I picture her as myself. When my dad beat me he never stopped until my face was all shades of blue and purple.
"Carl you gonna join me today?" I ask as I was about to exit our cell.
"No, no you go." he smiles and i make my way towards the infirmary.
I enter the cell block and everyone looks at me as the door shuts.
I smile and wave and quickly make my way to her cell, god I wish I knew her name!
"She's awake." Maggie says exiting the cell.
I enter seeing her piercing green eyes.
"H-hello." I say slowly walking over to her.
She moves quickly up against the wall.
"I'm Jessica, but people call me Jesse." I say sitting next to her.
She looks at me horrified. Then she slowly calms down and sits up against the wall.
"Kaydee. Kaydee Connors." I smile she was opening up to me.
"So Kaydee, do you know who did this to you?" I ask.
She looks down at her thumbs which she was fidgeting with.
"My father." she whispers.
My heart shatters into a million pieces, We have more in common then I thought.
I look down to the ground.
"Haha! I was foolish to actually think the apocalypse changed him, he said he would never hurt me ever again. And he kept his promise, until last night." She cries.
I stand up and sit down next to her and pulled her into a hug.
"Why do you care?" Kaydee asks.
"Because I was a victim too." I whisper.
Kaydee and I hugged for a good 5 minutes then we stopped.
"I'm starving." she says completely changing the subject.
I nod and help her stand.
"Lets go to the cafeteria." I help her hobble out the cell block and into the B block.
As we enter everyone stares at us.
