We walked thru the double doors as my production staff all basically stopped and stared. My assistant I could see her eyes pop out of her head and start to stutter to the people around her.
"I'm curious does this happen often you you all?" I ask laughingly." I have never seen my people do this before."
Each one answers some variation of yes and I really start to laugh."it must be extremely frustrating then."
They all respond yes again almost groaning. I walk up to a computer and start typing into it to find the placement of the order.
Chris E then walks up behind me and says, " however you don't seem to be all that effected yet you do seem to know who we are. Not a fan?"
"I am, guess. I've seen all the movies. My kids are huge fans. My son loves all of you and has the costumes and everything. However as far as I'm concerned your just people." I said then a second later," just very famous people."
They started to laugh after that. Robert then said,"okay Kate tell me why your soap is different from every other soap out there and if I like what you say I'll change my family over to yours exclusively."
"Well it is actually really simple. If fact I'll show you." I said smiling.
We start walking in to the mixing room. We head over to a big long table that goes along on whole wall that is on a platform over three mixing vats.
"Look what is on the table" I said to them and each one looks down and reads what is there.
"Now did you understand what you read?" I asked, "that's it. That is all that is in the soap with the exception of water. Everything on that table and only the things on that table are used. Now let me show you this." I hand them a paper.
Robert looks up" okay I have no idea what any of this is, I don't have a degree in chemistry."
"I do have a degree in science and I can't tell you what half of that stuff is. That is a list of the ingredients of some of the big name soaps. My soap is basic, or as close to basic and all natural as it can get. I use oils to scent things but that is really the only addition. That is why my soap Is different"
"That is a real ingredients list?" Robert, Chris H, and Mark R. Ask at the same time.
As I nod,"yup" I said." We also make both shampoos and conditioners in normal or bar form using the same process as the soap. Only ingredients are as back to basic as you can get. I didn't want to use harsh things on my kids or myself and it just grew to this." Waving my hands around.
"Sold" he said,"I think I'll buy some stock in your company also"
I laughed and then continued,"we are a small company because everything is made in small controlled batches. This allows me to make sure every thing is up to my standards before it is sold."
"Seriously I'm sold." He said.
Chris and Mark where also nodding their heads as if to say they where sold too. The only one who hadn't said anything was the guy in the back, I knew him from the movie as Hawkeye. I had to search my memory for his name Jeremy that's it. He just stood there stone faced not saying anything and just looking around. It was almost unnerving. Even more unnerving then giving a tour to five famous actors.
We walked around to the different rooms as I explained what was going on in each and they peppered me with questions about this or that I could feel Jeremy staring at me. He still didn't speak. After we got to the last room and started to head back thru the maze of rooms he did, "your husband must be very proud of what you built here."
"I'm not married", I replied.
"Oh I'm sorry I assumed when you said you had kids that you were married." He said
"I was. He died in an accident."
"Damn I'm sorry." He looked apologetic.
"It's okay, and thank you. The kids are great and keep me focused."
"How many?"
"4. Three girls and a boy." I smiled, "you don't really want to get me started on them. I'm a very proud mom and I'm lucky to have great kids."
"I'd love---- " as he got cut off by the others.
" ah here it is one case of seashore soap for your wife." I said to Chris H.
"How?"
"I had it packed up before the tour." I smiled for my answer. And then we were all walking out to the store.
"For your family I recommend these over here." I said walking away to Robert. To a section of very lightly scented things. Chris and Mark also followed over and started grabbing things.
After the purchases where rung out I handed them my business card and told them I could have special orders ready for them at anytime. They signed some stuff for the employees and then left.
"Kate how did you do that? You stayed so calm!" Lily asked. "I flipped out just seeing them on the cctv screen!"
"Your easily excited Lilly now get back to work. I'll be in my office." I said.
As I sat in my nice comfy chair I got a phone call on my direct line.
"Is Kate there?"
"This is, how can I help you?"
"Hi Kate this is Jeremy I meant to ask do you carry anything for little girls with sensitive skin?"
"Yup in fact everything we have is good for all skin types. If you want I can put some stuff aside and you can come in whenever to look at."
"That would be awesome! Thanks I'll come back later." He said.
"I'll have it up front under the counter if I'm not here I'll let the staff know."
"Okay but I hope your there." And he hung up.
All I could think to myself was why?
