River
I had been in the small building for almost a week and I was becoming restless being trapped here. I've learned these people are completely insane and don't know what the hell they are doing and really suck at being kidnappers. They also keep trying to convince me of outlandish nonsense that no way is possible by any means. Like trying to say there is a son that nobody knows about. Like being realistic who can a small group of people know, but nobody else knows about it like the press they would be over. I sat on stools eat a bowl of cereal as I heard footsteps coming up their stairs, yep great kidnappers leaving me alone, honestly I didn't have a good reason to not run, but I never made an excuse to run and go home. I guess it was kind of nice not doing anything for once.
"River!" I heard Chris say behind me as I turned around to see him and Aj who was actually a pretty funny guy, irritating, but funny followed by a few people "it's time to go home and we have to leave
"Oh so soon, I was just starting to enjoy myself here" I said sarcastically as Chris just shook his head
"Sorry about this" was all he said as I felt pain hit the side of my head and everything went dark
I wasn't sure how long I had been out, but I was woken by a strong smell of ammonia as I opened my eyes, I was sitting in a car as, Peta held a pack of smelling salts under my nose. My head throbbed where they had hit me with what felt like a shovel. Reaching up I felt the side that hurt and realized there was dried blood in my hair. Mumbling a few curse words at the pain and realized I was going to probably need more stitches in my head. Twice in a week those assholes cause a wound in my head. I felt a hand on my shoulder shaking me as I looked at Peta, who I realized was talking to me
"River, can you hear me" Peta said as I pushed his hand on my shoulder it was causing my head to hurt
"Yeah I can hear you, stop talking so loud my head is killing me" I said as he laughed
"Yeah you took a nice blow there, will get you patched up, what can you tell me" he said as I shrugged
"Not much, they were from that gang who house we raided the other night" I said yawning
"Well that was over a week ago, do you know you have been gone a week" he said as the dRiver took a turn pretty sharp and we both slid in the back seat to one side "try not to kill us will you" Peta shouted at the dRiver
"Yeah I know I was watching television the whole time" I said as Peta gave me a weird look "they weren't really good kidnappers" I said as he laughed
"Well that good, can you tell me where they are" Peta asked as I shook my head
"No, even if I could they wouldn't be there, their intention where to run after I was let go" I said as he looked at me strange again "like I said they weren't really good at being kidnappers" I said as I finally looked around the car and realized we were almost to the big house
Leaning back against the seat I waited for the car to come to a stop in front of the house where I could see numerous people gathered. I sighed heavily not wanting to deal with the interrogation to come my head hurt and I just wanted to sleep for a bit not be interrogated by the entire house. I could help, but feel happy at least I would get to see Jane, she drove me crazy, but I still didn't want her driving anybody else crazy.
"River let go, straight to Dante office" Peta said, getting out of the car,
I quickly followed him as people patted him on the back as they did to me, I just wanted to punch them. I'm not the person that likes to be touched by others for no reason. This wasn't really a good enough reason for me to granted being touched by people I didn't really know. I walked up the stairs as fast as I could have to go around Peta to avoid people until I was in the house where there are a lot of people but not as many as outside as I made my way down the hall where I ran into Mark who knew me better than most, who just nodded and followed me into the hall.
"River what the hell happened" I could hear Dante say as I came into the room that had many of the family heads, I scanned the room quickly and realized that Jane wasn't here
"I was hit in the head when I told Jane to run with a glass bottle, there stitches they gave me to close up" I said coming to a stop in front of Dante and my father
"Why were you out in that ally, Jane said you too were fighting about what she would not say" he said probing for answers
"Jane and I don't agree on many things when she gets mad that I speak to other girls, but won't let her speak to boys. She gets mad and storms off" I said, trying to avoid the entire truth
"Well she need to get over it, thought I would prefer you not socialize with other girls while working so this doesn't happen again are we clear" he said in a stern voice
"Yes sir, I take full responsibility for everything that has happened" I said as I could feel the intense glare coming from my father who was probably angry that I cause such a mess.
"I expect it to never happen again, now tell me who had you" he said as other people in the room started moving around he asked turning away from me
"The house we raided and the man I shoot gang the leader now the grandchild of the former boss" I said looking back as Peta came walking in the room with a smug look
"Peta where did you find him" Dante said focusing on papers on his desk
"sitting on the side of the road he had a sign with his name on it basically like trying to be found" Peta said as he came and stopped next to me
"sitting with a sing, you didn't think to get up and contact anyone" Dante said as I was about to respond but Peta interrupted me
"He was knocked out cold took two smelling salt packets to fully wake him, he also got a nasty cut on the side of his head from where he was hit" Peta said as I just waited
"Can you tell me where you were River" Dante said, as he unfolded a map and I came closer to the table that it was spread out on
"There was not windows it was an all brick building, I remember watching the noise yesterday and an explosion went off in this area" I said pointing to where I had seen on the news that caught it " I heard it, but not close where I could feel anything" I said as Dante looked over the map
"all brick building are closer to the harbor and don't go past where the building that was demolished, you were watching television while being kidnapped?" he said as I chuckled
"They weren't really good at kidnapping, they said they didn't mean to take me, and the two guys that had taken me where punished, I don't know how, but mostly I sat on a couch eating cereal and pizza" I said as Dante and everyone just looked at me strangely
"then they just let you go" he said sounding skeptical
"yeah they were waiting until stuff calmed down, then they said they would let me go as long as I agreed to deal they wanted" I said rolling my eyes
"What's the deal"
" they said they would let me go, unharmed as long as I agree we would come after them, they were leaving town heading somewhere else cause there, boss Chris doesn't want to be in a war with you" I said as Dante shook his head
"well they started a war whether it was by accident or not" he said looking back down at the map
"I told him I was in no position to make that deal and if he wanted a deal he would have been better off take Jane not me" I said sarcastically
"Well that true" my father said standing next to Dante
"But he did say even if we did find the place I was in they wouldn't be there anymore and..." I said, stopping myself because I would sound idiot saying the rest of it
"What else did he say River" Dante said in a deep voice
"He told me to tell you if you didn't agree to deal he made with that the press would love to know about a skeleton in your closet about..." I didn't want to say because I would get looked at like I was insane
"About what in particular" Dante said in a low tone
"it is nothing, he just kept trying to tell me you have an older son, which is ridiculous and the press would find out about your dirty secret if you tried to find them" I said as the surrounding people became silent as they all looked at Dante who was still looking at the map
"That ridiculous I've never had a son, there is no secret to hide" he said as everyone stayed quiet
"I know I told him this, he wasn't to smart, didn't listen, I don't know where he got this information from, but it is wrong" I said as he nodded
"Maybe he was confusing Gino and Brit birth announcement of River with you and Lana" Dean said come from behind me, patting me on the back
"That's possible, I could see stupid people making that mistake" My father said next to Dante as he kept looking at the map
"Our next movie would be to find them and punish them, brick building no windows there is four building in this area that match that description" Dante sad point to each building " we can cross out these two because they are too close you would have felt the rumbling of that explosion and this one is possible to far to have heard the sounds" he said point to one closest to the blocks "we will start with this building and sweep it for people and information, River are you up for a raid?" Dante said finally looking up from the map
"Yes sir" I said as he nodded
"Get cleaned up, change into some new clothing I'm sure you want to get out of those clothes you have been wearing for a week" he said as I nodded and left the small huddle as people were talking
I head out of his office and down the hall quickly and up the stairs I stopped at the top as I looked at Jane door. I walked over to the door and opened it to see an empty room that was neat and clean. Closing the door quickly I guess they have all the girls and moms at one of the house away from the horde of people here. I was really nice to shower, shave and change clothes after a week in the same clothing is really gross. I walked out the room to see Mark standing talking to the rest of the guys waiting for me.
"Hey, where is Jane?" I asked as Mark handed me a gun that I took from him quickly
"All the girls were sent to stay with a big boss from England summer holiday house, they're safe there nobody knows where they are and it very isolated" he said as I nodded
"cool when are we leaving" I asked as we started heading down the stairs
"we were just waiting on you, everyone that's coming is outside waiting" he said as I went to the door and realized the sun was setting as the blinding the sun cause me to squint to see anything.
We all filed out of the house into an SUV that was waiting I got into the passenger seat as quickly as I looked over at the dRiver and realized it was David. I looked tired and didn't say anything so I shifted and looked out the window trying to ignore his presses. I wanted to smash his face into the steering wheel, I really wish I had sat in the back now, but I hated sitting in back especial with four other guys. We drove for a while as I started feeling tired again and my head throbbed, as I should have taken some pain medication while I was at the house. Leaning my head against the door I closed my eyes just to get a moment of pieces from the intense light of the sun that was setting.
"River we are here" I heard Mark's voice as I sat up quickly as realized it was dark now " Dante and your dad and the rest of the head are going in first we are to go in after them.
" Okay" I said as I got out of the car following everyone else
"Boys stay behind us as we go in. There is no way to tell if there is anyone inside or not so stay alert" my father said as he handed flash lights out.
Dean kicked the door down quickly as I watch him Dante the other heads my father Peta and a few others I didn't recognize follow them in. We went quickly from being them using the flashlight to see as it was pitch dark inside. I could hear people yelling clear all around, but the place was empty. I finally heard Dante yell at the last clear and everyone paused and put their guns down. The place was empty I glanced around the room, it looked like the place I was in, but empty void of all peoples' lights and furniture now.
"River, is this the paces" I looked up to see Dean on the second landing looking down at me
"Yeah it is empty now, but I'm pretty sure this was it
"Boss in here" I heard come from the doorway near where the stairs where, I saw Dante come down the stairs quickly followed by everyone that was upstairs
It was best not to try to go into the crowded room, whatever they found would be handled by them and it wasn't my business. I decided to walk outside and smoke a cigarette because it was better than being inside I was just trapped in for a week or over a week I lost count of how many days I've been in there. However, outside was better than standing around waiting to be told what to do. Mark followed me out and leaned against the black SUV as some more people came out of the building and make looked around standing awkwardly.
"Hey, River Dante is looking for you" some guy with British accent said as he and an older man walked out the building. I took another drag and tossed it on the ground and walked into the room that had everyone standing around chatting I went toward where I saw Dante walk in it was the little room I was held in first
"River, what did these people say in exact words" Dante said as he held a piece of paper in his hand and didn't look away from it
"everything or something specific" I asked as I wish to know what that note said
"Did they happen to mention who the alleged son might have been, or anything about this kid" he said crumpling up the paper
"not really they said he was around my age, and nobody seen him since around when Jane was born" I said shrugging as he looked around the room
"here is your gun back seems they left it as a present figured they knew we would come here" Dante said handing it to me as I walked out the room as I followed behind
"everyone go home there nothing more we can do here, this isn't over yet thou, I'm sure a lot of people want to rest" Dante said as he went to the SUV in front of the one the guys were leaning on and got in
The drive back to the big house was boring and long, and extremely awkward with David sitting in the front seat the entire time. They couldn't find anyone better or at least a volunteer to drive us, around or let us drive. I waited patiently as we drove back to the big house and held my tongue when I wanted to beat him until he was on the verge of death. Once we arrived back to the house Dante Lana and my parents were standing outside talking, Lana didn't seem too happy as did my mother as they both were talking very furiously, but stopped when we came to stop.
"Boys you can all go home get some rest in the morning you will all go pick up the girls" Dante said as he and my father went into the house
"I'll see you all tomorrow" Mark said as I nodded and headed up the stairs
"River, I'm so glad you're safe" Lana said as my mother smiled she was never very emotional and having her smile at that fact, felt good that she at least cared that I came back "let's go inside I'm sure you are starving and I have a big dinner all ready for us" she said as I followed her inside
We sat eating Dante talked about anything other than what had happened telling a story about something Dean had done. I was pretty tired while eating, as I listened to the stories that were being told. My head hurts and I need a pain reliever and some rest for the night, but I didn't want to be rude and leave. So I had to wait until everyone else to be done so I could leave the room and have some time to myself. Finally, after what felt like forever and really awkward sitting there wanting to leave everyone started getting up and clearing the table.
"River, are you feeling okay" I heard Lana say as I nodded"yes, just tired" I said as she smiled and nodded "I'm going to head upstairs and get some rest"" River don't forget in the morning you need to go pick up Jane, warning to you she is not happy where she is and has not had a phone in a week so she will be very grumpy" Dante said as I nodded and headed out of the kitchen toward my room.
It felt nice to lie down in my bed and be alone after a week of sleeping on a hard cot that was very thin and squeaked a lot when you moved, silent was nice. Though I was tired and wanted to sleep, I was pestered by the thought Jane, not in the room next door. She was my job and she wasn't here, it was like a day off, but I didn't really want a day off it bugged me when she was not around, but she bugged me more when she was around. I yawned and got up and went to the bathroom and found some pain relievers and took a couple hoping it would help me sleep.
The pills must have worked I was woken up by the alarm clock was going off at 7 am turned it off and sat up. My head still hurt, but it was better. I showered and changed my clothes and decided to go down stairs. I didn't even know when I was supposed to go get Jane, or where she even was I was supposed to be getting her from. I walked downstairs and the place was quiet, I could smell food in the kitchen and hear someone humming. I walk in and see Lana standing, stirring something on the stove as she hummed. She turned, as I sat down on a stool that was near the counter behind her.
"Oh River you are up, I thought you would sleep in" she said as I shrugged
"I don't sleep in much, I was wondering when I'm supposed to go get Jane" I said as she shrugged
"In a couple hours, you're to meet the other boys at the airport around 10, my husband will tell you were when he gets up. Are you hungry, I'm making omelets would you like one" she asked, smiling
"no I don't want to trouble you" I said, standing up figuring I could get a few hours of working out in
"Oh sit down, I truly enjoy cooking and any excuse I have to cook, I will" she said as I hesitated "I said sit" Lana said pointing a whisk at me as I sat down quickly, as she went back to mixing stuff into a large bowl "Can you cook?" Lana said as I watched her toss vegetables into the bowl
"not really, I mean I can make a few things sandwiches, grilled cheese, frozen pizza, Mac and cheese" I said as she looked at me horrified then shrugged
"Should have known, Britt can't cook to save anyone's life, I tried to teach Jane one's and lets just say never eat anything she prepares it probably poised and not on purpose" she said as I smiled "would you like to learn how to make something" Lana said suddenly extremely excited
"No, that's okay, I'm sure I wouldn't be very good" I said as she shook her head
"Come over here, now this is so simple, plus you need to know how to cook girls love a man who can cook for them, especially if they're anything like Jane who can't cook" she said as I got up reluctantly
For an hour she showed me how to cook an omelet what to do what not to do. How to mix things, how to check to make sure things are not burning. It was actually pretty fun and it was really nice to have free time alone and get to see a different side of Lana not just as Dante wife, but as a normal person. When I was making my fourth omelets all by myself as Lana watched over my shoulder, silent, I heard the fridge door open and turned to see the Dante going through the fridge. I instantly felt the need to stop waste my time cooking with Lana and go train or make myself scarce
"Lana, I hope you're not torturing the boy" I heard him say as I tried to back away, but Lana stopped me
"it's not torture when they're good and actually listen to me" she said as I heard Dante laugh, which I felt really uncomfortable
"Lana tried to teach me how to cook once I burned down the kitchen and had to pay for remodeling, then she tried to teach Jane and she did the same and tried to poison us" he said as Lana tapped my shoulder and pointer to the pan she wanted me to pay attached "Well as lest she found someone to teach" Dante said as he walked out the room
"Oh I think your omelet is done" Lana said as I took it of the oven top
"thank you Lana, this was fun" I said, I did mean it was fun,
"Good I think next we will try something a little harder" she said as she picked up two plates of the omelet I had made
"Next time?" I asked confused,
"Well of course, there is so much you need to know and there is very few people for me to teach around here" she said walking out of the room
It had been a while since I cleaned up the kitchen from the mess I made and eat the food I had cooked. Surprisingly it wasn't that bad, I washed the dishes I knew there was a cleaning staff that would do it, but I felt odd not to clean my own mess. I decided I wasn't supposed to be at the airport until 10 and I had time to go work out for a while. I could get some running in while I had a free time and not have to worry about what Jane was up to. Running always felt good to me it was relaxing to feel the pressure of pushing yourself to run faster, longer, and harder each time. I must have run for longer than I realized when Dante came in the room. I quickly stopped and check the time. I had an hours before I had to leave for air pot
"There you are, I wanted to tell you, it's time to head out to the private airport on the east side of town off the highway" he said as I nodded grabbing a towel and water off the stand
"Okay I was going to leave once I changed" I said as he nodded
"Also, I don't want to order you because if Lana finds out she will strangle me in my sleep, but if you could just amuse her by letting her teach you some cooking things now and then when you're free, I would surely appreciate it" he said as I nodded "there is not a lot of people around that can or has interest in cooking, which she loves, and having someone she can teachers make her really happy" he said as we left them gym
"yeah, not a problem, it was fun plus she didn't give me much of chose" I said as he nodded
"good, well I'll see you around later when you get back with Jane" he said walking off down the long hallway toward his office
Quickly I went up the stairs and changed my clothing into one that we're not sweaty as I grabbed the new phone that sat on my desk. I drove pretty fast because I didn't want to be late or miss the flight, I'm not really sure if you can miss a private flight, but I would have rather not attempt it. The airport was pretty empty when I got there I could see the rest of the guys standing near their parked cars as I parked near them and got out.
"Do you know, here we are going" I asked as we headed toward the plane, feeling anxious I had only been on a plane once before this and I guess I wasn't used to flying that much
"not really there at some Englishmen boss that came into town to help search for you, he had planned to stop by during his trip, apparently to do some business with Dante" Kegan said
"if a three-hour flight, then about another hour drive to the house" Mark said as I nodded and we headed toward the plane.
The flight was pretty normal and quiet, nobody really talked much as we all sat in our own seats I thought it was odd taking such a small plain. I counted the number of seats in the plain, all of us plus the girls there wouldn't be enough seats for everyone the plain would have to make two trips. I shrugged figuring we would deal with it later when we were leaving, as I looked out the window watching the ground look like it was moving slowly. I watched for a while as the landscaped changed from mostly flat land to more of rolling golden hills we were heading inland away from the coast.
The flight wasn't as bad as I expected and the drive was pretty long, but we got to ride in a stretch limo, which was nice. One we pulled up to the house the girls were staying at I was surprised to see a place like this hidden and in the middle of nowhere. When we came to a stop there was a couple and a younger man standing outside the mansion. I recognize the young man from the night before when we raise the brick building.
"Boys I hope your flight was well" he said in a British accents
"It was good" Mark said shaking his hand as he turned her attention toward me
"River, it's a pleasure to officially meet you, my name is Charlie Noonan, this is this is my wife Patricia and my youngest son Daniel" Charlie said, as I extended my hand politely this was not the man to piss off once I realized who he was, he was the head of a very large crime family in another country
"Thank you for all you have done, I do hope Jane and the rest of the girls were not too much trouble sir" I said as he nodded, but his wife didn't look to happy
"most of the girls where darling, but Jane needs to really learn her place and be taught some lesson on etiquette" his wife snapped as I nodded she was right Jane is not the most well-mannered girl by any means
"Patricia, maybe you should go entertain yourself elsewhere" Charlie snapped as she turned her nose up and turned and walked away
"I'm sorry about my wife she doesn't know when to hold her tongue, she can be overly strict and controlling a lot, I'm sure Jane was fine" he said as he started walking into the house as I followed him "Daniel take Dominick, Kegan, and Vincent to up to where their girls are stay I'll walk Mark and River up to Courtney and Jane." he said as they followed after Daniel
"I do hope some time, of course on better circumstances we can meet and chat again boys, you all would love staying in my home in London, been in the family for centuries" he said as I nodded politely
"I'm sure the girls would love a trip for shopping and sightseeing" Mark said as we kept climbing stairs, which felt like forever, I smiled at the thought of Jane complaining about so many stairs
" here you are Mark, Courtesy's room" Charlie said stopping at a door close to the stairs as Mark hesitated to go in, as he glanced back at me with a warning look before going in "River Jane room right down here" he said as we walked in slights as we walked to the end of the small hall, I was getting comfortable "Here we are Jane room, I'm sure she will be ecstatic to see you" he said as I nodded, I felt really odd about this guy and didn't want to be near him much more "I hope we can work more together in the future, I've heard a lot of good things about you" he said
As he turned and walked away, as I started after him in shock, as I realized he was trying to poach me away from Dante. Shook my head before entering the room and instantly smiled as I heard Jane's voice coming from the bathroom complain about Charlie's wife. I guess both of them didn't much favor each other's company much. I missed half of what she had said, but I was still amused listening to her ramble on as I stood and leaned on the door. I will not ever admit allowed, but I missed her more than I really wanted to.
"You might have to help me cause that table is big and all, but I swear I flip it" she said as he splashed water on her face "I swear I'll start breaking every dish until I get pizza" she mumbled as she used a towel to dry off her face as I chuckled
"I'll call and have a pizza waiting at the airport for the trip home" I said as she turned and looked at me.
Jane stood there and looked surprised as her eyes started to look sad as she hesitantly took a step toward me. I couldn't help myself she looked so sad and defeated I practically ran to her when she took a step toward me and wrapped my hands around her. I couldn't deny it, I missed the crap out of her, I kept making exquisite saying I didn't miss her, but the second she was in my arms I never wanted to let her go or be far from her. Yes she drove me crazy, but she was mine to drive crazy. I heard her trying to say something, but I didn't want to talk I tried calming her
"it's okay, everything you have felt I have felt" I said I tried to hide the fear she was gone, but it bothered me to lie a bit, I knew she was safe, but I wanted to make her feel better she clearly was worked up "I feared they had taken you, worried they were hurting, you, sick that I didn't know where you were, angry because I wouldn't get to see you again" the last part wasn't too much of a lie I did fear I would never get to see her for a moment until I realized they sucked at being kidnappers. I realized from my grasp as she probably was suffocating under my grip as she turned to a glare as she turned and grabbed the towel off the sink and hit me with it "what was that for?"
"That for all this, make me so upset, getting me into trouble and getting me sent here to this horrible place" she said, sidestepping me as she stormed out of the bathroom and I smiled of course Jane would turn it around on me
"Okay, next time i'll just avoid being knocked out be a glass bottle on my head, just to please you" I said as she turned and chucked a water bottle at me
"You know what I mean, go order me that pizza somewhere else, why did I even miss you, you are so irritating" Jane said turning away from me
"For throwing things that could hurt me, I'm not ordering you a pizza" I said walking toward the door
"River, you can't promise me pizza when I've been starved for day here, I swear if there is not pizza at that airport when I get there I will murder you in your sleep" Jane yelled after me as I walked out the room and saw Mark and Tifany coming out of her room as Tifany rolled her eyes
"Really Jane, he hasn't even been here five minutes and you to are already fighting" Tifany said
"I'm starving and he promised me pizza, and is now refusing to get me the pizza, this is all his fault" Jane said slamming the door as she looked at him not amused
"Really River," she said as I shrugged
"don't worry I'm going to get her a pizza I was just going to go ask a servant for a place close so I can order it for her" I said as she nodded and went back into her room
"Can't you two try to get along for like 10 min ever" Mark said looking disappointed
"This is us getting along" I said will be out front in 15 min we are heading out first the rest are staying another night and will come back tomorrow" Mark said as I nodded, at least he answered one question
Waiting downstairs was boring and I knew it was going to lead to argument that I couldn't find a pizza place to deliver to the isolated airport. I sighed and waited near the stairs as it did not want to wander around and get lost I felt I was lost at one point trying to get back to the front door. I didn't really get what was taking so long to get ready to go, they have only been here a week and she only had one bag.
"Your River right" I heard a girl say near me as I looked up and realized there was a young girl standing near me
"Yeah, you are?" I said confused as who she was
"Oh sorry" she said smiling wide "I'm Melissa, my dad's Charlie Noonan, you know the owner of this house" she said as I realized she was talking in an accent, I must not have paid attention
"Of course" I said standing up to shake her hand, to be polite "You have a pretty nice house here" I said trying to make polite small talk
"This is actually very small, you should come see our real house, it's so much bigger, I just love big things" she said taking a closer step toward me, as I wanted to step away but it not wises to piss girls like this off, I can piss Jane off cause she wont do anything but this girl was different Dante dangerous but Charlie Noonan is to.
"Yeah how old are you" I asked, trying to divert her attention as she stepped closer
"Almost 17, why you thinking what I'm thinking" she said as laid her hand on my shoulder and I wanted to run away, this wasn't a good situation, I need to leave before I got us into too bad trouble "My room upstairs we could finish chatting there" she said after a moment of me panicking and not responding
"I...i... Can't I have to leave maybe another time" I said frazzled by the girl who now had her arms around me
"They will wait for you" she said whispering leaning in as I tried to lean away
"Really River" I heard Jane's voice come from behind, and pushed Melissa off me with a little more forces than I should have as she glared at me irritated but gave death glares to Jane
"Jane, I can explain" I said as she stormed down the stairs followed by Tifany and Mark both looking angry at me
"Don't talk to me" she said passing me, heading toward the door as I followed her out ignoring Melissa presents in the hall
"Jane, stop" I said as she walked quickly down the steps outside
"Just leave me alone River go screw you knew whore of the day" she said as she walked toward the limo and the dRiver opened the door for her.
I stood there for a min almost wanting to go back inside because she made me so frustrated trying to explain things when she doesn't listen. Tifany walked past giving me a look as I sighed, shaking my head as Mark patted my back as we both head toward the limo. Jane was fuming mad the trip to the airport, making it very awkward and when anybody would say and then dramatically rolling her eyes. Once there Jane was the first person to jump out of the car followed my Tifany they practically ran to the airport
"Is it possible to not upset Jane every minute you're around her?" Mark said as I glared at him
"I didn't do anything, I'm not going to sleep with Charlie Noonan under age daughter like I like my life intact
"just trying to keep your hookup on a more low-key and away from Jane or any of the girls slight, Jane's not very good at sharing" he said as I got out of the limo
"there is nothing to share Mark, she doesn't own me and I don't own her, whatever her issues are with other girls she needs to get over them" I said as Mark got out
"So if she was to start dating a boy and they start hooking up in front of you, you wouldn't flip out and be pissed" he said as I glared
"That's not the same thing I'm here to make sure she doesn't do that it's my job" I said heading toward the plane
"True, but wouldn't you be made and a little hurt she was with another guy and not you" he said as I realized he was right, I would be furious I didn't want to even think of her in someone else's arms "That's exactly how she feels overtime you're with another girl River" he said as I stopped
"It doesn't matter Mark, and it isn't like that if she wants to be with some guy she free to be with them as long as Dante says it okay." I snapped at him stopping in my tracks
"River you and I both know that you would never allow another man within a foot of her, even if Dante said it was okay. The way you to act when you two pretend to be in a relationship how you let yourself slip and then push her away when you realize you get to close" Mark said back a little louder I was glad we were still close to the limo so the girls couldn't hear us
"Mark it's a fake relationship and clearly both you and Jane have forgotten that vital pieces of information it was for show not real Mark" I said starting to walk away from him because I was about to punch my best friend in his face
The plane was pretty empty except for Jane and Tifany sitting at the back as Tifany glared at me when I came in and Jane sat staring out the window. I didn't want to even deal with them, I was angry and heated from my conversation with Mark I sat up front of the plane away from them. Mark came in and looked around clearly trying to decide if he should sit near me or with the girls. Personally I wanted to be alone, but he chose to sit with me instead of going toward the back. The plane ride was long and bumpy as there was a small storm we were flying in and it made my stomach turn flying in this weather.
Mark was no help as he kept looking back toward the girls every few minutes or when the plane when bounce in the air. I wanted to check on them as well, but my pride refused to let that happen and break and check on them. One out of the storm we were ready for landing, which I was intensely grateful for, I'm just not much of a flyer. We landed as I hopped up quickly as the door opened to leave the plane. I was so much angry with Mark or Jane anymore, mostly angry with myself with what I had to do. Realistically, I knew the relationship with Jane was weird, I was her bodyguard and fake boyfriend, but clearly it was becoming too complicated and it needs to end. Walking over to my car and looked back to see Jane heading with Tifany and Mark toward his car as my anger flared again.
"Jane let's go" I shouted over to her waiting for her to stop wasting my time
"I'm going with them" she said as she kept walking, as I closed my door and walked quickly toward them angry, I hadn't been this angry with Jane since the day at the mall when she snuck off
"Jane, get your ass in over here now and get in the same car" I shouted as Tifany stopped and glared at me "I'm not playing your little bratty games let's go" I said approaching them
"No, I don't want to go anywhere with you and your psychotic behavior" she said as she turned and I grabbed on her arm and started pulling her toward my car
"River Don't" I heard Mark say behind me
"Take Tifany home now like you where order to do" I said pulling Jane toward my car as she tried to fight me and break loss of my hotel which wasn't going to happen
"Let go of me or so help me, I will scream" she said as I laughed
"Go a head scream Jane it's a private airport no cops around" I said opening the passenger door and shoving her in as I quickly walked around my car and got in, I was thankful she didn't get out or try to run
"Your such and ass, I really hate I wish you never got chosen to be my bodyguard" she said as I gripped the steering wheel tightly
"Yeah well the feeling goes both way princess, you think this is what I want to be doing babysitting a drama queen who thinks she owns the world, I would rather be working in the gutters then here with you" I snapped back as she huffed. The car went silences after that as we drove back to the big house. I hated what I was going to do, but I had to, it was getting out of hand and in the end she would get hurt and I didn't want that. "Jane" I said as and huffed again
"What now" she said glaring out the window
"I don't think we should pretend to be in a relationship anymore, it's getting too complicated and I'm not sure you can tell the difference between real and fake anymore" I said as she scoffed
"You kissed me in the alleyway River, it you who has the problem not me" she said which she was right I was losing grasp on reality and wanted what was fake, as Jane began to laugh "the thought of me want you, is a joke" she said sounding angry I know she doesn't mean it clears in the breaking of her voice she wasn't happy and on the verge of tears and I hated myself.
We pulled up to the house moment later as she ran from my car as I parked I could hear Jane screaming at someone inside the house as I walked up the stairs
"I don't care I want him gone by the morning, I swear if he is still here when I wake up it will be very unpleasant to live here" I heard Jane says as I walked in and Dante and Lana stood there confused
"What did you do to piss her off" Dante said almost amused
"What don't I do to piss her off" I said as Dante laughed again
"River I do wish you to would not fight, please try to at least be friendly with each other" she said as I couldn't even look her in the eyes as I nodded and head up the stairs stopping outside Jane door, but walking to mine a second later
I hated doing that, in a sick way I enjoyed being in a fake relationship with Jane it was nice and I wanted to stay there in the fantasy. But life isn't a fantasy to live in just because it feels good and nice. Life isn't about fairy tales with happy ending and sweet love stories. Real life is painful and hard and those that live in a fairy tale never make it out alive.
