I drifted off to sleep as I laid on the hood of Mark's car, it was a nice cloudy day with a light breeze making it not too hot to hang outside. I really just wasn't in the mood to deal with Jane at this time, I was sure she was pissed and me being intoxicated was not a good mix. I was waken by the can moving as I opened my eyes quickly to see Mark sitting down next to me with food in his hand. He offered me a wrapped sandwich that looked pretty good coming from a school.
"Thanks" I said sitting up and taking it as he handed me a soda to
"so, why are you hiding out here?" I grunted
"not so much hiding just avoiding" I said unwrapping the turkey sandwich and taking a bit
"avoiding, the school or Jane, she seemed pretty pissed when she walked into first period" I laughed
"when is the girl not pissed?" I said as I looked around and saw people scattered eating food
"so what did you do" I shrugged
"she just pissed that I would rather fuck around with girls then play her little games" I said as marked laugh
"really I would play her game if I were you, she is a very hot" I shrugged not caring what he said; "come on River don't play dumb with me, I've never seen you act like this with any girl"
"what does it matter? Nothing ever going to happen even if I wanted it to" I said getting a little irritated with him
"don't get so defensive man, I'm just saying you're like a clone of Dante, except for looks, most girls are attracted to guy like their father" I stood up very irritated with the direction that conversation was going in
"Mark you need to drop it, I don't want her and she doesn't want me, plus she has a boyfriend who is high-ranking and has a lot of money, exactly like her father, so before you try pulling this crap again" I said walking off back to toward the school.
"come on man I was just asking don't get all pissed off, it was a reasonable assumption to make biased on both of your actions"
"whatever, I should be getting to whatever class I'm suppose to be in" I said walking up the stairs of the school
"where all at lunch, but we have P.E. next which will be fun"
I walked with him not respond as he rambled on about that had gone on with everyone as I napped outside. I just don't care about this school, I already complete school and don't care much to repeat that even though this was a normal school. we walked into the men's locker room, where we meet the coach talked for a while about stuff that seemed pretty dumb to have to stated and handed us gym shorts and a tee-shirt. we started changing as other people trickle into the locker room. I felt uncomfortable when it came to changing my shirt with other around. I had a lot of muscles and girls seems to love touching them, but had a lot of scars on my back that were very prominent. I could see Mark hesitate and was probably thinking the same thing, not really want to scare the pampered rich kids.
So I turned and had my back facing the locker and I notice mark do the same. I sat down and tie my shoes as a load group of boys came in and started changing a few lockers down. Some of the boys looked familiar, but one in particular caught my eye. In the middle of the group was David Canton, the banker's son and Jane's secret boyfriend. He was tall, but not as tall as myself, he has some muse mass, but nowhere near as much as mine. I felt myself smirk in satisfaction at the comparison. The coach called us all out and instantly started making us do lapse as the girl group of girls joined us moments later.
I didn't want to look at them because I knew Jane was in the group and I'm sure she would be pissed that I was here. After, doing stretched we stood around waiting for the girls to get done and the coach started pairing up everyone one girl and one guy. I groaned at the realization that this fun class was about to be ruined by me having to deal with Jane, as mark was paired with Tiffany and one guy started bitching about it which caused me to glare at him as he stood next to David Canton
"coach I'm always partner with Tiffany, why are you changing things" the boy said in a snotty tone
"its non of your business what I do, Mr. Eden" he shouted at him, as I laughed out aloud that got me a few looks and glares from the Eden and David boy
"Mr. River you will be with Jane" he shouted out as I could see David start walking toward the coach
David backed away from as Jane was saying something to him quietly as he glared at me. I couldn't even attempt to hide the smirk on my face which pissed him off even more. Mostly I thought it was funny that he tried to threaten telling Dante which would basically get him killed. The coach yelled to get with partners as I looked around and realized we were going to be playing tension as everyone started walking to the equipment and heading toward the courts. Jane stood next me clearly angry about the situation, but it just made me feel better because I was causing them irritation.
We were partnered up with mark and Tiffany which was good because at least that made her actually happy as they stood chatting at the rope fence thing and me and mark hit the ball to each other. It was actually nice to just play around doing nothing really, but of course it all had to be ruined. I was laughing at Mark running after a ball when I was hit hard in the side of the head by a tennis ball. I grabbed the side of my head as the loud ring in my ear from the impact of the ball started I throw down the racket as I heard Mark shouting something. I looked up after a few seconds as my anger flared, and I wanted to beat whoever did that to a death.
I looked around to see mark walking ferrous toward a laughing David and could see Eden laughing as well. Their partners looked confused and clearly unsure about what had happened. I felt my entire body heat up with rage as I started walking toward the laughing David about to murder the stupid boy for his actions. I felt two small hands wrap around my arm and pull me. I looked back to see Jane looking freaked out trying really hard to stop me
"River don't, please don't, he doesn't understand I will explain to him, please don't go over there" she said pleading as I just looked at her then over to mark where Tiffany was trying to stop hims, I could hear David still laughing in the background which enraged me more
"Jane let go of me now" I said through clenched teeth
"no pleases, River don't, please I'm begging you not to hurt him, he's just upset about this, and doesn't understand I'll talk to him, just please don't hurt him" she said pulling my arm more as I tried to shake her off
"Let go of me" I said a little louder
"Jane let him go, let him come near me and see what happened" David shouted behind me
"David shut up, River don't listen to him, please just don't do what you're about to do, I'm begging you" Jane pleaded as moved so she was standing in front of me and I could fully see David, but was more tricky because if I could hurt Jane in the process trying to hurt her stupid boyfriend "please don't" she said quieter this time as she all but whispered "I will do anything, for you, as long as you just don't hurt him" I froze at her words as I looked down at her in shock
My entire body left electrified with excitement that she would do anything for me if I didn't hurt her boyfriend. Yet, at the same time I felt like I was hit in my stomach, it felt like she was lowering herself to let me use her to protect her boyfriend that I hated. I became so angry, but not at David, at myself for her making me feel this way. I hate the fact this was the only way she would offer herself to me, and it wasn't even what she wanted. She didn't to save a guy that she would be willing to offer herself to and probably had many times.
"please, I'll let you do whatever you want and I won't tell, just don't hurt him, please" I shook my head as I watch her looking at the ground
"I don't want you," which was a flat lie, but she didn't know "save your whore please to someone who would actually want it" I said ferrous with the turn of events
I turned and started walking back to the door that I had come out of trying to get away from all of them. I couldn't take this stupid school and the stupid children that went here. I felt a hand grab me as I was about to reach the door, I turned around about to punch whoever had followed me. Mark was lucky enough to know better and was able to dodge my assault and took a few steps back
"chill man it's just me" he said as he stopped a few feet away from me
"what do you want?" I said as he took another step back
"what happened back there, why did you say to Jane?" he said getting a little heated at me hostility
"nothing, of your concern" I said turning away from him trying to walk away
"it does because when you make Jane cry Tiffany get upset and take her anger with you out on me just like the rest of the girls do to the other guys" he said angry following after me, as I stopped
I ran my hands through my hair, frustrated about everything that had taken place. I didn't mean to make her cry I was just mad she thought whoring herself to me would make things better that I would actually accept her offer when I knew she had a boyfriend. I'm not a bad guy normally, I don't fuck around with other people relationships even if I don't like it, it's not my place. Plus if Dante had ever found out I even touched his daughter, he would kill me.
"look Mark, I didn't mean to make her cry, I just make out, I was very angry with that boyfriend of hers and what she said made me lose it" I said leaning against the wall near the door
"David the banker's son is her boyfriend?" I just nodded "well that at least explains their hostility toward us" I nodded again "what did Jane say that got under your skin so much?" he said walked next to me a leaning against the wall as well
"it's not important, it's over and done with, I'll try the next time not to upset her" I said looking up to see both classes walk toward up. I went back inside as mark followed me
He dropped the subject, as we went back to the locker room and changed as other came in and did the same. I was feeling better now the school day was over. It was going to suck having to go back to the house and deal with Jane the rest of the night, especially after what had just went own. I was put on the uniform shoes that I almost despised as much as the school, when I heard David's and his friend Eden voice talk near us
"Oh look how it is, the babysitter" I heard his say as everyone around him laughed and I bit my tongue hard trying not to respond "it really must suck to be you, not good enough to do any other job, you get stuck having to follow girls around"
"if I were you I would just walk away before you get yourself into trouble your girlfriend can't protect you from" they all started laughing
"wow, you're full of yourself, the only reason they were stopping you is because we would have hurt you and gotten into trouble, and you" David said as he pointed at me and I gripped the bench trying to control myself "you had better learn your place real quick, you ever make my girlfriend cry again, I will make sure that when I take over you will be the first one to get punished" I snapped, I just don't like being treated and hated the idea of this little bastard taking over Dante empire.
"you ever threaten me again boy, I will make sure your little relationship is made public in front of Dante, I'm also pretty sure he won't like it very much that you have been sneaking around with his daughter behind his back" I said as I had a tight grasp on his throat and has slammed him against the locker as she tried to breaking free
"River let him go, and leave, this is a warning I don't tolerate fighting" I heard the coach yell as it echoed in the room.
I released him as and shoved him in the presses, but it looked like he had fallen back and grabbed my bag storming out the room. I could hear Mark's footsteps behind me. As I was ready for this day to be done, and I officially hated school for the first time in my life.
