Third person's pov!

Siddharth picked up his phone and dialled Parinidhi's number. He kept calling her, but the calls went unanswered.

An hour later Siddharth Singh Raichand started pacing to and fro in his room like a caged tiger.

How dare she ignore his calls?

The nerve of the woman to ignore him. Him? Siddharth Singh Raichand?

He picked up his phone and dialled her once again.

"Pick up. Pick up damn it!!" He kept muttering under his breath, willing her to pick up the call.

Bhavna, who spent an hour mulling over Siddharth's behaviour had decided to talk it out to himself.

They were getting engaged for heaven's sake and soon to be married too, and the man doesn't have an ounce of respect for her. How can she spend an entire life with him if he shouts at her and shuts her out according to his convenience.

She had told him that this was just a convenience for her too, but it was a lie. She was madly in love with Siddharth for the past few months. When he had broken things off with her, she had been heartbroken. But now fate was giving her another chance to be with him and that was the reason why she agreed to all his conditions and decided to marry him when he had clearly made it clear to her that there will be no love in the marriage. Because she believed her love would be enough for the two of them and hoped against hope that one day he will grow to love her too..

But is love enough?

As she reached Siddharth's room she saw him pacing the room angrily and trying to call someone on the phone.

She could hear him muttering 'pick up' and  'damn it' multiple times.

Who dared to ignore Sid's calls? Bhavna wondered in astonishment. What was even more surprising was that Sid kept on calling the person again and again.

As far as she knows Sid, the man would break off even an important deal if the other party in question so much as delayed a few minutes in responding.

It has happened before too.

Bhavna could feel the fury emanating from Sid and chickened out of having the conversation with him now.

As Bhavna came downstairs, Jeevika noticed the disappointed look on Bhavna's face and Jeevika knew without an ounce of doubt that her brother must be the reason behind that.

"Bhavna? Are you okay? You look dull." Jeevika said softly.

Bhavna hugged Jeevika in desperation. She so badly wanted comfort. Someone to tell her everything would be okay.

"Why is Sid like this, di?" Bhavna asked with a defeated sigh.

Jeevika sighed not knowing how to answer that question? When she herself doesn't have a clear answer to that, what was she supposed to say?

She cannot put all the blame on what happened during their childhood. There are people living happily and contentedly even after going through terrible traumas in their childhood. She herself was an example of that. The past had been terrible. The trauma of losing both the parents was intolerable, but still she learned to accept the fate and moved on in life. But her brother on the other hand is still stuck on it, angry at their father for depriving them of a father when fate took their mother away.

"What did he do, Bhavna?" Jeevika asked and words tumbled out of Bhavna's mouth.

Jeevika was furious with her Bubba.

How dare he treat the woman he is to marry with so little respect?

You forced him into this, a voice inside her head taunted and Jeevika felt guilty for a moment.

"Bhavna, if I tell you something, will you be offended?" Jeevika asked hesitantly.

"Of course no, di. You can tell me anything." Bhavna said with a sweet smile.

"You have to be stronger if you have to live with Sid, Bhavna. A relationship should be between equals. If he shouts at you, don't back down. Answer him in his own way. That's the only way to survive a relationship with you. I know you love him and this is why you are putting up with all his tantrums. But there is more to a marriage than love." Jeevika said and Bhavna sighed.

"You think I don't know any of this, di? Everytime he shouts at me or behaves rudely, I somehow give myself a prep talk to go face him boldly. And when I stand in front of him and see his infamous glare, I lose my confidence. I wish I had Nidhi's guts in facing Sid. She doesn't care that he is The Siddharth Singh Raichad." Bhavna said wistfully, making Jeevika laugh.

"That is a totally different case. I think she is scared of nothing. Especially Sid. Parth tells me everything that happens in the office when he comes for his daily talk time with me. How she argues to him every step of the way.." Jeevika said with a chuckle.

It was real fun watching Nidhi fight so boldly with the man, in front of him even grown men were known to shake in fear.

"And she is still alive. I swear if it was somebody else in her place, Sid would have definitely ruined her." Bhavna said and that's when the first seed of doubt formed in her mind.

Why does Sid behave irrationally when it comes to the matters of a girl he claims to hate. At times, it even seems like he is enjoying ruffling her up and making her burst out in anger.

Bhavna shook her head to get rid of those rubbish thoughts.

Siddharth Singh Raichand and Parinidhi Vyas? Have you gone crazy, Bhavna? How can you even think that?

If she so much as hints such a thought, Parinidhi might die laughing. Or she might kill her for even trying to link their names together. Bhavna still remembered that day when she found Sid and Nidhi in the archive room during the initial days of her employment. She had found them in each other's embrace and had reacted to it accusing Nidhi. But Nidhi had laughed at the mere idea of having anything to do with Sid. That was also the incident that triggered their break up.

And Sid. God! She can imagine him hunting her down and giving her a painful death if he comes to know what she is even thinking.

Bhavna was amused at her way of thoughts.

"What is it, Bhavna?" Jeevika saw the sudden smile on her soon to be sister in law's face.

"Nothing, di. By the way, did Nidhi return to her hometown?" Bhavna asked casually. She didn't feel the earlier hostility she felt for Nidhi earlier. She hadn't liked Nidhi in the beginning because she always argued with Sid and Sid seemed to be stuck on that. But the two weeks during which they were both here in Raichand mansion, Bhavna felt her hostility disappearing.

"No idea. I will call her tomorrow and check what's happening at her end.."

****

A week passed by on autopilot for Parinidhi Vyas.

Something has irreversibly changed in her, that fateful night.

She went through the motions perfectly.  She danced around. She did pranks on her family. She irritated the hell out of Bhadra Bua. She made cookies and cupcakes.

Yet, her heart ached.

For a man who thought so low of her.

Parinidhi chided herself for being such a mess. He doesn't deserve to have that power over her. And she refused to give him that.

That's when she decided she got rid of everything related to him from her life.

The first thing she did was to dispose of the wine coloured saree she wore that night. She hated the sight of it. It kept reminding her of that hateful night.

The next thing she did was to send a boy in the neighbourhood and return his cufflinks, which had been stuck to her dupatta one day.

And she really felt better.

Geet was right. Sometimes doing something silly like this helps make you better.

Like how Aditya felt better after burning and flushing his ex's photo. Parinidhi Vyas felt better getting rid of the things related to Siddharth Singh Raichand.

'Neither you nor your things mean anything to me. Get this straight into your head, Ms Vyas, nothing related to you matters to me in any way.' He had told her a week ago.

And now neither he nor does anything related to him means anything to her. She wouldn't let it be that way anymore.

Her phone rang and she saw it was from the Rakshas himself.

'Why the hell is he calling me?' She thought to herself.

She kept her phone on silent and walked out of the room, leaving the phone to ring away.

"Oye Nidhi." Buaji called out loudly..

"Hey Bhagwan, why are you shouting and creating a ruckus in the house, Bhadra ji," Nidhi asked dramatically, earning a wack from her aunt.

"Guess who is coming to Mumbai?" Buaji asked with a teasing smile.

"Who, Bua?" Nidhi asked in confusion.

"Why should I tell you?" Bua said with an attitude.

"Tell me, bua. You know I get impatient with surprises." Parinidhi whined.

"Your fiance is coming to Mumbai, Nidhi bacchaa.." Bhadra Bua said with a soft laugh and Nidhi stared at her in shock..
