As I slipped my feet into the sleek heels he had bought me, excitement bubbled within me like a fizzy soda. Each step I took felt like a leap closer. With a grin plastered across my face, I couldn't help but feel like I was on the verge of a personal evolution. Standing before the mirror, I admired my reflection, knowing full well that what I was about to do wasn't exactly right. But in that moment, I craved the thrill of losing myself in the excitement.

Just as I was lost in my thoughts, my phone chimed with a message, and my heart skipped a beat. It was from Mr. Bezos.

"I'm downstairs waiting for you by the car, butterfly."

His words sent shivers down my spine, a wave of emotions crashing over me. My hands trembled as I typed out a response, my mind buzzing with anticipation.

"Be right there, Amir."

With a final glance in the mirror, I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what was to come. As I made my way downstairs, each step echoed with the thud of my racing heart. This was it—the beginning of something thrilling, something yet forbidden. And I couldn't wait to dive in headfirst.

As I approached his car, my heart raced faster with each step. There he was, leaning against the car, looking effortlessly handsome. His hair was neatly slicked back, and his suit hugged his body in all the right places. The way he looked at me as I drew nearer made my pulse quicken, and I couldn't deny the magnetic pull between us.

With his hands casually tucked into his pockets, he stepped forward to meet me. I felt a jolt of electricity shoot through me as he leaned in closer, his warm breath grazing my ear.

"You look incredible, butterfly," he whispered, his voice sending shivers down my spine. "Tonight might just turn out to be wild."

I couldn't help but smile, feeling a rush of excitement coursing through me. With a playful glint in his eyes, he opened the door for me, and as I slid into the car, I knew that tonight would be anything but ordinary.

"Thank you," I said, feeling a blush creep up my cheeks.

He stepped forward, his hands slipping out of his pockets to gesture towards the open door of the car. "Shall we?" he asked, offering me his arm.

I nodded, feeling a thrill of excitement as I linked my arm with his. As we made our way towards the car, I couldn't help but steal glances at him, admiring the way his suit fit him so perfectly.

The drive was strictly quiet as we cruised along the coastal road, the soft hum of the engine filling the silence. I stole glances at him from the corner of my eye, my nerves sending shivers down my spine. He was effortlessly handsome, the kind of person who could make your heart skip a beat with just a smile. But as much as I was drawn to him, my thoughts kept drifting back to Athena, a constant reminder of the complications in my life. I pushed those thoughts aside, not wanting to ruin the moment.

"What are you thinking, butterfly?" he finally broke the silence, his voice smooth and comforting as he glanced over at me.

I swallowed nervously, trying to find the right words. "Umm... I'm just..."

He interrupted me with a gentle smile. "Butterfly," he said it with such tenderness that it sent a flutter through my chest, "Tonight will be worth it."

I nodded, feeling a mix of excitement and apprehension swirling inside me.

"You don't have to worry about a thing," he said, his smile lighting up his face, "Tonight, it's just you and me. And I promise, you'll love dining with me by the beach."

His confidence was contagious, and despite my lingering doubts, I found myself nodding in agreement.

As we made our way to our destination, a sense of wonder and enchantment filled me, impossible to conceal. The beauty of our surroundings stirred something deep within me, a longing to hold onto this moment forever. Upon reaching our destination, my smile spoke volumes, a reflection of the sheer magnificence before me.

Stepping onto the soft sand, the night air greeted me with a gentle embrace, sending shivers down my spine. Torch flames flickered, casting intricate patterns of light and shadow that danced at my feet, beckoning me forward into the unknown.

Approaching the table, adorned with billowing fabric and bathed in the soft glow of candlelight, a feeling of anticipation welled up inside me, like a tide rising to meet the shore. The soothing sound of waves crashing against the shore washed over me, enveloping me in a sense of peace that set the stage for the evening ahead.

"What do you think about it, butterfly?" His voice, a melody that resonated deep within me, sent my heart aflutter. His gaze bore into mine, igniting a spark of excitement that I couldn't ignore.

"I...I love it, Amir," I whispered, my voice barely audible above the gentle murmur of the ocean.

A smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he pulled out a chair for me to sit, his eyes never leaving mine. Sitting across from him, I couldn't help but wonder what thoughts lay behind those mesmerizing eyes.

"Glad you do," he responded with a reassuring smile.

"Amir," I began, a hint of hesitation in my voice, "I don't want to ruin this night, but I can't help but think—"

Before I could finish my sentence, he interjected, his tone firm yet gentle. "Tonight is about you, and whatever you were planning on saying that would ruin the mood, don't."

I nodded, understanding his sentiment. Just then, a blond woman approached our table, a small notepad in hand. She exuded an effortless charm, her smile radiant as she addressed us.

"Hello, what a lovely couple," she remarked. "If you don't mind me asking, how is your night going so far?"

Mr. Bezos glanced at me before responding to her. "Going well, thank you."

"That's wonderful to hear," she replied warmly. "Here are the menus for tonight's offerings. I'll be back in 5 once you've made up your minds."

With a polite nod, she departed, leaving us to peruse the menu in peace. As I glanced over the options, trying to steady my racing heart, I couldn't help but feel a surge of anticipation coursing through me. Mr. Bezos's gaze never wavered from me, his eyes full of warmth and understanding.

"What are you ordering, my butterfly?" he inquired, his voice soft yet filled with curiosity.

My heart pounded in my chest as I considered my options. "I'm not really a fan of seafood, so... I think I'll go with the umm..." I scanned the menu quickly, my eyes darting over the descriptions. "Grilled fish tacos," I finally decided, describing the dish as freshly caught fish grilled and served in soft tortillas with cabbage slaw, avocado, and a tangy sauce.

"Not a bad choice," he remarked, a hint of approval in his tone.

The woman returned unexpectedly, carrying two bottles of white wine despite our not having placed that order.

"As requested, Mr. Bezos," she announced, placing the bottles on the table. "And what will you be ordering?"

Before I could even speak, Mr. Bezos took the lead. "Grilled fish tacos for her, and I'll just have the wine," he informed her with a confident smile.

She nodded, jotting down the order before collecting the menus. "Your order will be ready shortly. Please relax and enjoy your night by the beach," she said before walking away.

Mr. Bezos wasted no time in opening one of the wine bottles and pouring me a glass. "So tell me," he began as he poured. "Where do we go from here?"

I watched him pour the wine, unsure of how to respond. "I'm not sure, to be honest," I admitted.

He smirked knowingly. "So you're reconsidering us dating until I figure things out."

"Not necessarily," I replied, feeling a twinge of uncertainty. "What if things don't work out the way you want? What if you choose her in the end?"

He fell silent for a moment, contemplating his response. "I'll work things out, and I promise it will be you in the end," he finally said with conviction.

"Don't make promises you can't keep. I'll pretend you never mentioned making a promise to me," I cautioned, taking a sip of the white wine and savoring its flavors.

"I never break a promise or make one that I can't keep," he asserted confidently.

"Don't be so sure," I replied, a hint of skepticism lingering in my voice.

The atmosphere grew tense after our exchange, lingering uncomfortably between us. However, after a few minutes, the waitress returned with our order, a small smile adorning her lips as she placed the dishes on the table. "Enjoy," she said softly before departing, leaving us in a momentary silence.

To alleviate the tension, I eagerly dug into the food, closing my eyes to savor the flavors. "This is amazing," I moaned appreciatively between bites.

A smile tugged at the corners of Mr. Bezos's lips. "One of the best restaurants here, of course their food is exceptional," he boasted proudly.

"You're absolutely right," I agreed, focusing on my meal as I tried to ignore the intensity of his gaze fixed on me.

As I continued eating, I couldn't help but notice him watching me intently, leaning back in his chair with a contemplative expression. Sensing his gaze, I paused, a hint of self-consciousness creeping in. "Is something on my face?" I asked, instinctively reaching up to touch my cheek.

He shook his head slowly. "Nah, I just enjoy looking at you. You have no idea," he confessed softly, his eyes filled with a warmth that sent a shiver down my spine.

I continued eating, trying to maintain my composure despite the weight of his words and the intensity of his gaze. "Right," I managed to smile, though it felt strained.

Mr. Bezos reached for his glass, taking a sip of wine as he let the taste wash over him. His eyes remained fixed on me, and I found myself struggling to ignore his intense stare, my own discomfort growing with each passing moment.

In the middle of our dinner, his phone suddenly rang, instantly capturing my attention. He retrieved the phone from his pocket, his gaze flicking between me and the caller ID. The uncertainty left me feeling uneasy, my mind racing with unanswered questions.

Answering the call, he spoke into the phone, his voice low and murmured. "Hey...yes...no, babe..."

And then it hit me like a bolt of lightning. He was on the phone with Athena, a realization that sent a rush of unease coursing through me, extinguishing my appetite.

"Okay, baby...not a problem," he said into the phone before returning his attention to me, attempting to make eye contact.

I recoiled instinctively, swatting his hand away when he reached out to touch mine. "Come on, don't be like this. You know our situation," he urged, his voice tinged with frustration.

"Actually, I don't," I retorted, my body tensing with anger. Was I feeling...jealous?

"Butterfly," he began, his tone pleading.

"Don't 'Butterfly' me," I snapped, my emotions bubbling to the surface.

His movements were swift as he rose from his chair, pulling me up with him and grabbing my face, forcing me to meet his intense gaze. "We don't want to ruin this night, and your attitude is turning me on," he declared, his words sending a shiver down my spine despite my inner turmoil.

My breaths came out shaky as I struggled to find the right words. "Amir," I said softly, my voice barely above a whisper.

"I want to make the most of this night," he interjected, his finger gently pressing against my lips, silencing me.

"You know—" I began, but he cut me off before I could finish.

"How about we go for a swim?" he suggested, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

"But I didn't come prepared for that," I protested, feeling the anger slowly ebbing away as his touch calmed me.

"Just your undies?" he proposed, his tone playful.

"There's no way I'm swimming in my underwear. And it's so cold at this time of night," I countered, a hint of doubt creeping into my voice.

"Right now, you're just making excuses not to swim with me," he teased, his face inches away from mine.

"It's not appropriate," I argued weakly, feeling his presence overwhelming my senses.

"It's just you and me," he whispered, his gaze intense as it bore into mine.

With a resigned sigh, I relented. "Fine," I breathed out, my resolve wavering. "Fine, I'll swim with you."

He slowly began to remove my clothes, his eyes never leaving mine as he undressed me with a tenderness that sent shivers down my spine. It was impossible to resist him, especially when he looked at me like that, with a hunger that ignited a fire within me.

Since it was his idea to swim and I couldn't bring myself to turn down his offer, I followed suit and shed my clothes, feeling the cool night air embrace my skin. He removed his own clothes without hesitation, his movements fluid and confident as he took my hand and led me towards the water's edge.

With a mischievous grin, he splashed water at me, and though I tried to shield myself, it was useless. I couldn't help but giggle as the cold water touched me, sending a delightful chill down my spine.

"Stop," I laughed, trying to catch my breath despite the onslaught of splashes.

But he only grinned wider, his eyes alight with mischief. "Not a chance," he declared playfully, his laughter mingling with mine as he continued to splash me.

As I watched him in this moment, seeing his carefree side, my heart swelled with warmth. He was charming, sweet, and kind, and I couldn't help but feel drawn to him in ways I couldn't explain. I wanted nothing more than to hold him close, to cherish this night together, even though I knew deep down it couldn't last.

He took my hand and guided me into the water, his touch sending shivers down my spine as he pulled me close, his arm wrapping around my waist. His fingers brushed my wet hair away from my eyes, and I couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness at the thought of what could never be.

"I don't know what to say, but I'm glad I met you," he confessed softly, his voice barely audible above the gentle lapping of the waves.

I couldn't help but let out a bitter laugh, my words dripping with resignation. "Not that this will last when you'll be marrying someone else," I muttered under my breath, the salty water mingling with the tears that threatened to spill from my eyes.

For a moment, he was silent, his expression unreadable as he processed my words. But then, with a quiet determination, he spoke. "I will make it work," he vowed, his gaze locking with mine, a promise hanging in the air between us.

As his lips met mine in a hot kiss, it felt like time stood still. My body melted into his, finding comfort in his arms. With closed eyes, I surrendered myself completely, basking in the security he provided.

"Are you ready?" His voice broke through the haze of pleasure, pulling me back to reality. It took a moment for his words to register, but when they did, a wave of uncertainty crashed over me.

The implication hit me like a boomerang. He was referring to my virginity. Questions flooded my mind. Was he genuine, or was this just another conquest for him? Was I simply another assistant falling prey to his charms?

"No... um, actually," I hesitated, my breaths uneven. "I think I want to rest. You know, we have a long flight back home, and I'm feeling a bit tired."

"Are you sure?" His tone held a hint of disappointment, mixed with persistence. "I mean, we could make the most of tonight without any distractions."

"I'm pretty sure," I affirmed, though doubt lingered in my mind.

After a salty shower, my skin felt itchy, reminding me of the long flight awaiting me tomorrow now that Greg's business here was done. Sitting on the bed's edge, thoughts crowded my mind until Greg's video call interrupted.

Wrapped in a towel, I accepted, greeted by his smile. "You never fail to look beautiful," he said.

"Extremely beautiful, right?" I replied, placing the phone on the table for hands-free chatting.

"My parents actually love you," he mentioned, brushing his teeth.

"They do?" I was taken aback.

"Yeah. Eventually, they'll ask about you, and I'll need a good explanation," he explained.

"You're smart. I'm sure you can handle it," I said, moisturizing my skin.

"So... what's it been like over there?" he asked, turning on the tap.

"It's okay, I guess," I answered, mulling over my response.

He smiled softly. "Kinda miss you."

"Greg, you're not falling for me, are you?" I teased.

He laughed. "I won't take any chances."

"You're crazy," I chuckled, wrapping my hair into a bun as we chatted on the screen.

"Am I? What are you doing when you get back? Haven't been to the movies in ages," Greg asked.

"Greg, you want to go to the movies with me when I get back?" I inquired.

"Yeah. Car park theatre. We stay in our cars and watch from a huge screen. I can bring my friends. Well... female friends," he suggested.

"I'll think about it. Can't give you a straight answer to that," I replied, hesitating.

He nodded understandingly. "I understand."

Yawning, I said, "Well, I guess I'll be going to bed. I'm really tired, my feet are sore, and I need rest for the flight tomorrow."

"Okay, Eleanor. You get yourself some sleep. See you when I get back?" he asked softly.

"Yes, you'll see me," I assured him with a smile before ending the call.

Sighing, I changed into a silk nightgown and lay flat on my back. As I lay there, I couldn't stop thinking about the moments I shared with Mr. Bezos. I wanted him, but what if I can't have him?

Thank you, thank you so much for reading and yes, I have made it with your chapter. I'm answering every comment just to show that I appreciate you all. We are at 1.1k thank you!
