Two months later
Aaliyah and Thando were in the netball court practicing. They were actually watching Nokwanda because she didn't want them to practice with the rest of the team. Amanda was practicing with the rest of the team, she was starting to be close with Nokwanda so that she can get a chance on the field. It been two months since Thando and Amanda talked to each other. Aaliyah was still in contact with her.
"I hate to watch Nokwanda practicing and we are outside, just watching," Aaliyah said.
"Me too but she is our captain and we have to pretend to like her, so that we will get the opportunity," Thando shared an opinion.
"Amanda is good with that though just look at her, it's like she is not pretending," Aaliyah said. Thando did not think Amanda was pretending anymore. "Do you think Amanda is still pretending?" She asked.
"I don't know, she has been dodgy lately and I last spoke to her two weeks back," Aaliyah said. Amanda was looking at them and she was smiling at Thando. "She hate the fact that you chose me over her," Thando thought.
"I did not choose you Thando. I understood you and..." Thando interrupted her, "Aaliyah come on I would not choose myself. I understand Amanda, I was a hypocrite."
"And it wasn't on purpose that you had feelings for a guy, this things happens," Aaliyah defended her.
[Both giggled]
"A whole me, having feelings for someone," Thando surprised.
Aaliyah looked at her with a smile and Thando was curious why Aaliyah was smiling. "Things changed, I guess. Who would have thought that I will sleep with..." Thando interrupted her, "no way, you didn't. Is it Vusi?"
"You're joking right? How can you ask me that?" Aaliyah asked.
"oh my word," Thando was happy for Aaliyah.
Thando believed that maybe love does exist. You just need to commit to it that all, Aaliyah and Vusumuzi was the true definition of it according to Thando. She wanted to experience love but at the same time she wanted to remain the princess of the school. They continued talking. Londiwe and Luyanda were in class together.
"Babe I feel like we haven't talked for months," Londiwe was open.
"Took you a long time to realize that. Ever since you took back your gift, you have been ignoring me and you were very busy watching soccer," Luyanda angrily.
"What are you trying to say?" Londiwe asked.
"Nothing personal," Luyanda replied.
Londiwe felt like Luyanda was embarrassed of her because of the gift she had. "What do you expect me to do, I'm trying to find the person who humiliated us with this gift," Londiwe said.
"I'm expecting you to be here for me, because I'm still processing what happened on valentine's ball," Luyanda suggested. "But that was two months ago," Londiwe said. Londiwe was not in Luyanda's shoes, she only thought that she is okay.
"To you it is but to me, it feels like it has been yesterday!" Luyanda yelled.
Londiwe did not understand what Luyanda was feeling, instead she left her alone in the class. Zweli finally came under the table. He was listening to everything they were saying and Luyanda knew that he was hiding.
"Phew, that took longer than I expected," Zweli said.
"I thought you were already dead in there," Luyanda teased him.
Zweli came closer to Luyanda and whispered, "what would kill me? I can't die without getting what I want."
[Luyanda sighed]"We talked about this Zweli. I'm dating Londiwe and I don't want to break her heart." Zweli felt left out, because he was tired of hiding every time Londiwe comes to Luyanda. "Then why do we keep on seeing each other here?" He asked.
"That's because I need someone to talk to," Luyanda replied.
[Zweli scoffed]"Why don't you go to your girlfriend?
Zweli departed himself from her and Luyanda was speechless. Zweli was on his way to the door and Luyanda stopped him, "ok Zweli I need you by my side!"
Zweli was pretending all along, he wanted Luyanda to say that. He smiled and turned back looking at her. Mzwanele and Vusi were in the dressing room after the game.
[Vusi panted]
"Man you look so tired," Mzwanele noticed.
"Yea, I am the way you were playing it was like a real game but it wasn't," Vusi replied in Zulu.
"Maybe it was because I was practicing a lot," Mzwanele said. Vusi's stomach growled, he held his stomach and Mzwanele thought that maybe something big is wrong with him. He was worried but it wasn't something serious.
"I'm sure you did. Don't you have any money with you?" Mzwanele asked.
"No I don't, why?" Mzwanele replied.
Vusi's stomach continued growling. "Nothing serious I'm just a bit hungry," Vusi replied in Zulu.
"I told you to go to that nerd boy whenever you want something to eat," Mzwanele suggested.
"You know that nerd will not take me serious if I'm alone, it is better when you are there. I mean he listens to you," Vusi in Zulu.
Mzwanele nodded his head. Mzwanele and Vusi went out looking for Siyamthanda. Londiwe was about to watch soccer and saw Mzwanele. All she thought about was how he embarrassed her and wanted to see what is Mzwanele up to. Londiwe decided to follow him, she was curious about Mzwanele's moves. Siyamthanda was sitting alone, eating his lunch, Mzwanele and Vusi approached him.
"I wonder what are they up to now," Londiwe whispered to herself.
When Siyamthanda saw them approaching him, he started sweating and getting nervous. He was very scared of Mzwanele and did not want to be against him. The moment they arrived, he could not even speak, because of nervousness.
"Don't worry, we won't be long and you know why we are here. I say let us not waste time," Mzwanele suggested.
"Yes...um...today I'm a....bit..." Mzwanele interrupted him angrily, "I thought we had an agreement. We did not force you to give us money, you insisted of giving us but now you have excuses."
"I promise...Mzwanele I'll give...you tomorrow with an...interest," Siyamthanda stuttered.
"Well remember to be a man of your words," Mzwanele said.
Siyamthanda nodded his head agreeing. Mzwanele was busy looking around to see if there was someone watching them. They decided to leave Siyamthanda. Londiwe was shocked to hear all of that and she wanted to help Siyamthanda. The only way to do that was to tell Mxolisi about she heared. Siyamthanda felt relieved after Mzwanele and Vusi left.
After break
Thando and Aaliyah were sitting together in class . Thando was looking at Amanda and Nokwanda, they were busy laughing together. Aaliyah on the other side was dizzy and Thando was too busy to notice her friend. Thando was suspecting that Amanda and Nokwanda might be up to something. Wandile and Nkosinathi were looking at Londiwe sitting with Mxolisi.
"I think Mxolisi is going to be a nuisance," Wandile was jealous.
"Right, one second he's with Senamile and the other with Londiwe. This guy is starting to be a legend, I think we must learn from him," Nkosinathi suggested.
"Learn from him? Are you hearing yourself? I don't know about you man but this guy is challenging me," Wandile said.
"How is he challenging you? Mxolisi is just taking his chances as a guy unless he is taking someone you want," Nkosinathi confused.
Nkosinathi noticed that Wandile was jealous of Mxolisi. He thought that Wandile wants Senamile and he looked at her. "I support you man, Senamile is hot," Nkosinathi thought.
"Not Senamile," Wandile said.
Nkosinathi looked at Wandile and Londiwe, he was surprised to hear that. The thing that was surprising him was that Londiwe was a lesbian and Nkosinathi thought it was impossible for Wandile to get her.
[Nkosinathi laughed]"Wandile you are good at jokes, I nearly forgot."
Wandile wished that Nkosinathi could see that he is not joking. Thando noticed that Aaliyah was not feeling good.
"Are you doing okay? You don't look fine." Thando concerned.
"I don't know, it been two weeks since I've been feeling dizzy," Aaliyah replied.
"I think we should go out, get some air and drink water," Thando suggested.
Aaliyah nodded her head agreeing, Thando stood up and Aaliyah followed her. Londiwe walked towards them. Aaliyah accidentally bumped onto Londiwe.
"I'm really sorry," Aaliyah apologized.
"I'm fine, are you fine?" Londiwe asked.
Thando pulled Aaliyah away from Londiwe. When Londiwe bumped onto Aaliyah, she had a weird vision but the problem was that the vision she had was not clear. Londiwe wanted to know what was wrong with Aaliyah.
After school
Thando was about to leave and got an anonymous text.
[Hey, I can help you get on the field]
Mxolisi was walking with Londiwe outside the gate. Londiwe saw her mother's car and looked at Mxolisi's eyes. "I just want to thank you for everything. You have been a good friend to me through my worse moments and I also want to be a good friend to you too," she appreciated him. Mxolisi smiled and he looked away. "You are not my friend," he said. Londiwe was confused when Mxolisi said that.
"But you are more than just a friend. You are my family in school and I've been waiting for that face," Mxolisi said.
[Both chuckled]
Londiwe felt comfortable with Mxolisi, she was happy with him. Londiwe hugged him and went to her mother's car. She looked at Mxolisi and waved to him, Mxolisi smiled. Siyamthanda came to Mxolisi smiling sarcastically.
"The legend himself, Zulu," Siyamthanda said.
Mxolisi was confused, he looked at Siyamthanda. Siyamthanda was furious that Mzwanele was bullying him and now he wanted to take out his anger to Mxolisi. "What's up with you?" Mxolisi asked.
"You know that I love Senamile and you are busy with her. I thought you were a friend but no I was wrong about you. Now you are busy with Londiwe, I think the question here is what's wrong with you?" Siyamthanda lashed out.
"I don't know what you are talking about. Senamile and Londiwe were at their misery, so I was helping them that all," Mxolisi explained himself.
"Thank you friend for helping them but I think you should help yourself too by going to Thando. I'll say this once, you can't have them both!" Siyamthanda continued.
[Siyamthanda clicked his tongue]
Siyamthanda's eyes was clouded with tears. He left Mxolisi and did not even bother to look back. Mxolisi suspected that Siyamthanda is going through PTSD and wanted to help him. Mxolisi saw Mary's car and went to the car. He was worried about Siyamthanda and couldn't think straight. Mary saw Mxolisi's face.
"How was your day?" Mary asked.
"Great...no actually it was perfect," Mxolisi lied.
When Mxolisi was in the car he saw Nokwanda entering an unfamiliar car. Mxolisi was not sure if that was her transport. Nokwanda was looking around to check if someone saw her but she did not see Mxolisi seeing her.
