Weeks.
Weeks go by like a flash.
In a blink of an eye, it feels like nothing but yet. I felt it.
Through atoms and atoms, everything will freeze and the only thing that matters.
Is you.
The weeks I had lived, was a reminder of what it was to be unearthed within yourself.
Friendships with the girls had always been the same and yet, nothing of significance towards the progress of it had developed.
Haneul - oppa?
Haneul's head laid on my lap with the both of us reading books on the couch, the sunshine beaming on our shadows being casted on the floor
Y/N - yeah?
I glance at her, putting my book down slightly to fully look at her
Haneul - so, why does Suzy-sunbaenim stay here with you again?
Looking past my book. Suze was in a kitchen apron making food for us, not sure on how to answer I looked back down on Haneul
Y/N - you know, I'm not sure. She's just adamant on staying with me
Suzy - I can hear you, you know.
We both softly laugh, the both of us continuing to read.
My focus turned to the pages, my fingers naturally turning as my eyes read the words in detail.
Suzy - I'm glad you're off work Y/N, how'd your first school year go?
Y/N - great. It's been a pleasure to teach them and I'm excited to see my former 11th graders into 12th graders.
Suzy - was it emotional for you to see those 12th graders go?
I was stuck on the pages, only responding to her by my voice without breaking my focus on my book.
Y/N - a little. In the little time I knew them, they were excellent students and even though I'm not permitted to be there on exam day, I just knew they gave it their all and everything on that exam.
Suzy - well, yeah. That exam determines everything in your future
Y/N - is that right?
Haneul hums, responding to me.
Y/N - that is, wildly insane for me to think about.
Suzy - I mean, given the fact you still don't know much about everything here. It's fine for you to be surprised.
Y/N - still am when I find out something new here. It's amazing even.
Turning to the next page of my book, my focus turned to the corner of my eye. I looked up, seeing Suzy from behind. She was happily smiling. It was still odd that she left behind some things just to stay with me.
But I mean, a week from now. She would have to leave the country to go film in another.
Somber, even. But it's a part of the life she chose.
I hear a click of a tongue, making me look down at the person who initiated it.
Haneul - oppa.
Her voice was quiet, making me respond to her quietly as well.
Y/N - hm?
Haneul - you're looking at Suzy-sunbaenim a bit hard.
Y/N - hm what about it?
Haneul - do you like her?
I look up to the ceiling and then back down to her unsure on how to respond while keeping a confused look on my face
Y/N - no? How come you're asking?
She giggles to herself, putting the book over her face to hide it
Haneul - you're just looking at her like she's your wife
Y/N - Ani. I don't look at her like that, that's demoralising.
Haneul - what about my unnies? Have you ever thought of them?
Y/N - hm.
I think to myself, usually able to respond immediately but.
Do I?
Do I perceive them anymore than just friends?
Given, Belle and Nat but not so much more have been very, flirtatious lately or at all since then.
Y/N - no, not really at all.
Haneul - what about me?
I softly laugh, ruffling her hair since by now, she had been visiting over lately wanting to engage in reading with me as well. So our relationship with each other has improved compared to me during my first month here.
Y/N - Ani, not at all Haneul-ah.
Her lips pouted, showing them for a brief moment before putting the book back on her face
Haneul - you would be a great boyfriend to me you know
Y/N - I wouldn't think so Haneul-ah. Go focus on your book and career first before thinking of a partner
I flick her forehead making her eyes furrow at me while I smiled at her
Haneul - fine. But I'll do it because you said so.
Y/N - be eager would you? You're the one with a career here other than Suze.
Haneul - still, you're a great oppa.
Y/N - who's only a year older, go date someone your age
Haneul - what's the fun in that?
Y/N - you girls scare me a lot.
She laughs before putting her book down, putting both her hands on my cheek looking down on her
Haneul - I hear stories of you a lot from Natty-unnie
Y/N - what's she saying about me?
Haneul - about how good you treat her, and the same from Belle-unnie
Y/N - hm. I won't ask to elaborate though
Haneul - but tell me.
Y/N - yeah?
My eyebrows turned to curiosity with hers too, the coldness of her hands despite the warmth of the day remained on my face, waiting for her answer.
Haneul - are you not close with Julie-unnie?
I look up in front of me, being greeted with the living room lamp that Suzy bought for me.
Thinking to myself, have I ever been any close with Julie?
It's been a while since I came here to live, I've known my presence particularly well with the aforementioned 3 girls with the exception of Julie
We banter here and there together when we get together, we have good moments but a single moment of vulnerability never happens between us.
We've never talked one on one before.
Even though we had that one time after what Belle did, but even so. It wasn't such a heartfelt one on one conversation that really meant anything to the both of us. It was for Belle.
My eyes hung back down to Haneul who kept a cute smile on her face, trying to ensure a reaction from me but I remained unable to break with any feeling towards her.
Y/N - I guess not.
Haneul - really?
Her hands were starting to become warm, our eyes still on each other.
Y/N - I never really talked to her one on one so I mean, we hang out a lot when we're together but she never really invited me over unless it was something to talk about importantly. I do remember one time she invited me over to talk about something that happened to Belle.
Haneul - what was it?
Y/N - right
I scratched my head, sighing.
Y/N - don't worry about it. It wasn't anything much just, that was pretty much one time.
Haneul - seems like I should organise something between you two.
Y/N - ah it's fine, no need for that.
Haneul - you sure? Only Julie-unnie is the only one you're not close with
I put my hand on her hair, slowly caressing it while I kept my eyes on Suzy
Y/N - In due time, Haneul-ah. I gotta keep everything in check first.
Haneul looked along beside me, we both stared at Suze until she turned around herself.
Suzy - what are you two doing?
We both laughed prompting her to laugh as well
Haneul - nothing sunbaenim
Suzy - just call me unnie, I basically live with your oppa now
Y/N - you really need to get out at one point though.
Suzy - nah. I don't think I will.
She walks up to us, her hands behind her apron untying it. Squatting down a little to my eye level, she glanced at both my and Haneul while I remained a little confused on why so.
Suzy - Haneul-ah, close your eyes
Haneul - but unnie-
Suzy - just do it
Haneul does as she says, closing her eyes. Suzy unties her apron, wrapping it and laying it in her hand to hold
Suzy - you'll miss me when I'm gone right?
Feeling her warm hand, on the touch on my skin. She smiled softly with I, blissful in the seconds that passed.
Y/N - of course. Why wouldn't I?
She smiles, leaning in to kiss me.
She savours each taste of my mouth with me accepting her usual gesture of her personal interests.
Haneul - what are you two even doing?
Haneul speaks, her eyes still closed but her ears open to hear.
Slowly but surely, she lets go. Her face was unimpressed with how she got cut off.
Y/N - nothing, it was just about next week.
Haneul opens her eyes, seeing both Suzy very close to me for comfort.
Haneul - are you su- sure? You two look. Veryyy close.
Suzy - mmhm
I nod with Suzy, the both of us looking at her
Y/N - I guess, Suze here will be gone for almost a month to film a new drama so, I mean. It's gonna be a bit lonely around here
Haneul - you have us oppa.
I softly laugh, Suze gently nudging me
Y/N - right.
Suzy - you girls should take care of him while I'm gone
Y/N - I'm not a child Suze.
Suzy - oh, not in that way
She smirks at me with the 'you know what I mean' look making me sigh in response to her always, sort of coy yet sexy personality towards particularly me.
I look back down to Haneul who still had her head on my lap
Y/N - hey you hungry?
Haneul - actually.
She puts her hand to her stomach checking it. It rumbles a bit before looking back right up at me
Haneul - mmhm
Y/N - good, looks like Suze made some food
Suzy - don't thank me
Y/N - I never do
Suzy - mean.
She pouts, making us laugh. I shot her a wink, making her smile a bit.
Feeling sure, she shoots me a wink back.
Y/N - come on Haneul-ah, let's get up
Haneul - alright
We put our bookmarks on the pages we were on, looking out the window while I tapped Haneul on the shoulder, making her get up from my lap.
I was left transfixed on the sunset, it was already getting darker than we already knew it. Given it was already summer. Looks like time had passed faster than I could ever have imagined.
With a 'psst' from Haneul. I snap my neck to turn to her, giving her a confused look
Y/N - hm?
Haneul - let's go?
She points to the dining table with Suzy waiting for the two of us, her smile as intoxicating as ever.
Y/N - yeah, sorry.
I get up, throwing my book on the couch joining Haneul and Suzy
Never complaining, seeing those two made me.
Inexplicably beautiful.

The week had passed and I stood in front of the terminal where Suzy held onto her suitcase
Y/N - no.
She laughs, wrapping her arms around my neck, hugging me
Suzy - I know you must be fed up with me
Y/N - a little.
Suzy - sorry about it
Y/N - don't be.
I turned, letting everything go and hugged her as well, in show of how I really felt towards her.
Eternally grateful for what she did for me, her intentions were as clear as day. She just wanted someone to care for and someone that could care for her.
I might not have been the best, but I think we both know.
We did the best we could.
In a way, I was sorry for how I acted.
Being a bit cold to the touch, down to the dialogue towards her. I wasn't one to show gratitude towards someone so easily and even so, my face would be affected in how I perceived it.
Y/N - it's gonna be a bit quiet without you for a while
We let go of each other, my hand rested on her shoulder, with her's as well. Mirroring each other but her other hand held onto her luggage.
Suzy - you should ask one of the girls to sleep with you
Y/N - fuck off
We both laugh again, my eyes looking at her beyond the mask she was wearing
Suzy - what?
I could tell she was smiling behind it, but all too sure. I just felt.
Proud. Yet, utter craving that had suddenly caved inside of me.
Not for anything but for her.
Out of a mutual love we had for each other. Even so, more out of respect as well.
Y/N - nothing. Are you ready?
Suzy - I'll only be a month in what? Spain and part of the US
Y/N - is your English and Spanish all good?
Suzy - English? You know how 'good' it is alright
We think back to how we first met each other, reminiscing on that certain moment.
She looked around for a second to see if anyone was looking at her, due to where we were. We were in a bit of a blindspot between us and the people including her manager.
Suzy - Y/N.

Her arms still remained wrapped around me, but she pulled back one arm a bit to lift her mask down.
In result, was a sweet farewell.
Her lips always tasted like her favourite fruit, just in the form of the lip balm she always used too.
She put her hand around the back of my head, wanting to savour, deepen it even more.
But the only thing that stopped us was me.
Seeing her kiss someone that wasn't a celebrity?
Yeah I wouldn't want to be a part of the whole thing especially since I'm not too keen on controversy.
She lets go of me, her smile and eyes falling to the floor.
She flushed red, blushing controllably while I, just stood there.
I was still unsure on how to feel about it despite all of our time together.
But only the heart could tell eventually and right now, it felt something a little but had faded away quickly as it came.
We looked at each other, the both of us feeling the awkward tension between us all of a sudden because of where we were.
But abolished easily with a laugh, taking my hand out for her to shake
She slaps it away, hugging me. Doing the same, wrapping her arms around my neck to indulge in a wraparound.
Letting go of my vanity, humanity's biggest sin.
I wrapped my arms around her, finally giving her the embrace she wanted from me from the moment we realised it would be unforgiving the moment we were separated even once.
And now, even so.
For a brief time. We had felt detached, not from each other but rather the connection we won't have.
The distance, the physicality of it.
It all means something when you're there and not from a screen.
Words speak a lot as much as actions but, it always lacked something.
Heart.
It was quiet, but. The sounds of paparazzi were coming by and we had to let go.
Out of the hold, we looked at each other as I held her forearm.
Y/N - be good okay?
Suzy - are you really going to say that to me like I'm a child?
Y/N - you act like one when at home
She laughs softly, letting my hand slowly drag away from her.
Her eyes gazed at me, and in feeling, came the inevitable.
Suzy - well. If I act like one, you do too.
Y/N - me?
I point to myself, her manager coming closer as he takes out the last of her stuff around his shoulders as if he was her servant, closing the car door.
Manager - Suzy, we have to go.
I took off my face of expectation and came forth, the idea of a goodbye.
She did too, and it felt heartbreaking to see.
Even for someone like me, accustomed to my own interests and personal space.
It was, unfortunate.
Her eyes screamed of not wanting to let me go, I looked down to her hands. Her fingers reached for me, and with a soft, reach.
I only felt a little of hers. Our indexes were touching, still warm.
Y/N - I'll see you when you get home.
She smiled one last to me, our fingers now separated, her hand leading to her bag. Positioning it back up on her shoulder.
Suzy - I'll be back soon okay?
Y/N - I know. I'll have dinner ready for you when you come back.
Turning away, I waved goodbye to her.
Feeling the pat on the back from her manager, I smiled at him. He nodded in response while I watched her walk away from me, her figure fading before turning her head back to me.
We shared a soft gaze with her waving back from below her waist, twisting her hand to diffuse rumours.
Alone.
And just like that, I was alone.
But not, entirely.
I fixed my glasses back up to my face, looking back and turned around to go take a taxi home.
Avoiding out of sight from people, I got a taxi home with my head against the glass, looking out at the view.
Feeling the vibration from my thigh, I reached into my jean pocket, taking out my phone.

Upon getting home.
I stood outside of the building, my hands in my pockets, wondering what to do.
I had no idea if the girls were working or not today, hell. Even I forgot to give them their lunch boxes since I was woken up late by Suzy since she was late for her flight after our drunken talk last night.
Laughing to myself last night in memory, we went out last night. The both of us were both drunk as we were and just walked around the area.
We had just the usual talk but felt more somber, more emotional as it went on.
I always got the feeling that we had gone closer to each other, enduring and hearing hardships or problems in our lives with Suzy more so talking about it.
I had never really had anything worthwhile to talk about but, in true fashion. I just stood around and listened while walking with her.
Taking a big sigh, putting my right hand on my neck whilst looking at the ground

I felt disappointed for some reason.
And it quite, never had happened before.
Looking back up, I put my hands by my side and started to walk towards the stairs, when suddenly. The door opens revealing Jules, our eyes connecting to each other.

She smiled at me holding a trash bag which wasn't uncommon to see in the morning especially on Monday's.
I was off work so it would be a while till I would come back to teaching which would be in about a few days, but it was my own fault since I called in sick even though I wasn't but I have been feeling too much fatigue the past few days.
She walked past me while I stepped to the side, making space for her. I watched as she put the trash away while I remained quiet to myself.
Julie - what are you doing here so early?
Wiping her hands away, she walks to me, putting herself right in front of me.
Y/N - had to drop off Suzy
Julie - oh right. I forgot she stayed with you.
Y/N - you seem a bit bitter.
Julie was obviously very confrontational about it.
Once she was aware about it, she had been a bit. Distant per se, towards me but still retained her flirtatious side of her that was still very evident
She put her hand on her hip, smirking, pushing boundaries and getting a bit too close for me but I without a doubt, didn't mind.

My eyes remained strong, not wanting to even smile or even laugh since I was just a bit nervous but why would I be?
Me and Suzy were very endearing to a certain degree, maybe perhaps so that's just a different case with each of the girls when I'm with them.
Y/N - then why so would you be?
I crossed my arms, the both of our faces smirking with the both of us not wanting to break our intentions to one another.
Julie - I dunno. You tell me.
Y/N - you're a bit mean to me, aren't you?

She puts out her hand, insisting to take it.
I uncrossed my arms, sighing. With her suddenly laughing

Julie - great, the girls aren't home. You're dealing with me today

I took her hand, the both of us turning around to the door with a soft smile on my face.
We went inside, with me and her sitting on the couch. The both of us looking at each other
Y/N - so, what did you want to do?
Julie - thinking about it. I didn't plan this through at all.
She sat far from me on the couch, her hand on her face while being supported by her elbow on the couch.
Holding a still, yet friendly smile. It just became awkwardly silent.
But again, just like her. She breaks the ice between us, coming closer to me on her knees, crawling over to me on the couch.
I watched without a word, seeing her eyes turn in a second into the other part of her that was only visible with me but yet, I wasn't one to put judgement on her and her own feelings.
She sat down beside me, the both of us unsure on what to say.
I look towards her, her eyes now soft, she licks her lips.
Y/N - I do have an idea.
Julie - do tell.
She was now interested, having sat up and wrapped her hands around her knees, wanting to hear what I had to say.
Y/N - I guess we can read?
She laughs, putting her hand to her face. Myself, confused on why
Julie - you're such a fucking nerd hahaha, sure.
She shrugs, going along with my idea.
She gets up and walks away from me, supposedly walking to her room

I waited patiently for her, playing with my fingers.
Encapsulated with my thoughts, I was unsure on how to feel or do. It felt like I wanted to do nothing, be nothing.
But that train of consciousness was broken by Jules' voice echoing through my ears.

I looked up to her, a book came soaring through the air like a baseball. I, fortunately, caught it.
I look at the book, making me click my tongue.
"Frankenstein"
Giving her a vague look while she held up a book of her own

Y/N - nothing. Just wouldn't have expected you to have read it.
Julie - you underestimate me Y/N, we all have our own hobbies

She looks up to me, her eyes visibly confused at my reaction

Y/N - oh. Never heard of them

She groans to herself before putting her attention back to her book, I shrug it off and continue reading as well.
For a short while, it was quiet. The only thing you could hear was the sounds of people outside, the rain pouring as the forecast once again lied.
The sounds of rain hitting against the window, our breaths, the turning of pages.
We were both comfortable where we were, not too hot or cold but just right.
Despite the silence, we always managed to engage in actions towards each other rather than words which suit us in a way.
But then, I spoke up for her.
Y/N - hey, I'm feeling kind of hungry.
Looking up from her book, she smiles at me
Julie - me too.
She put her head up first, allowing me to get up from the couch to stretch my legs, and also my arms.
Yawning in the process.
Julie - we can order take away, you don't have to get up.
I look to her, brandishing a soft smile
Y/N - it's fine. I haven't made you girls the lunches today since I had to drop off Suze, so I'm gonna cook a meal for us alright?
She nodded while I walked to the kitchen already on my way to grab a frying pan and thought of what to make.
Without looking back at her, I could tell she was watching my every move which, in sight, didn't bother me at all.
For a while, I got started on cooking a simple meal for the both of us, her eyes not wanting to move away from it's position even for a slight glance at her.
I didn't mind it but it was something I was only used to with Suzy.
Finishing up, I brought the food to us on the couch.

Y/N - No problem.
We ate quietly, the both of us avoiding conversation since we didn't really have much to talk about.
We finished faster than we thought so she went into the fridge, grabbing a bottle of soju for us to talk over to, which was a pretty good conversation starter.
Julie - nothing beats a shot of soju during the day huh?
Y/N - it's almost evening

We both laugh, the both of us taking another shot.
Y/N - so why aren't you with them?
She puts her glass down, looking straight at me. Her hands on her legs which were crossed.
Julie - company didn't want me in since they were doing something with the three of them, I'm okay about it
Y/N - seems so.
Julie - so. Tell me, what's going on with the great Y/N these days?
I shot her a look while I poured another shot, taking it down like a champ.
Wiping my lips, I put my glass down
Y/N - nothing much, off the job the past few days since it's just, how do you say it? Cooling period for the students and teachers.
Julie - seems nice. I wish I would get a break
She laughs, taking another for herself while I rubbed my hands together, putting my elbows on my thighs, leaning over to look at her doing it
Y/N - you don't get one often do you?
Julie - nope. But when we do, I'm not always too sure on how to spend it correctly other than doing the same things I always do.
Y/N - which is?
Julie - read, maybe watch a movie or two or just go out shopping. Usually I would just go back to the company, maybe work on my dancing but. I'm not sure these days, maybe I should pick up a new hobby.
Y/N - seems pretty more interesting than my days.
Julie - oh really?
She leans over to me, the both of us in each other's irises, unsure of what the moment will escalate to.
Y/N - mmhm.
Julie - you just had a pretty woman over, and Bae Suzy to be fair. Is she not interesting to you?
Y/N - she is. She's just squatting in my place.
Julie - ouch, you can be a bit distasteful Y/N

We both smirk, knowing we were just fucking around with each other's head as a way of humour between us.

We get closer, the both of us feeling unnecessary tension in a battle of wits and pettiness.
Julie - can I be a bit jealous myself?

Julie - because Suzy-sunbaenim can have such a good man around her for days on end. Who knows what you do at night with each other?

I lean back up, my face a bit shocked because it wasn't what you think.

She's been holding a long smirk on her face but out of sincerity to her own feelings

She gets closer to me, her hands wrapping on my shoulders, eyeing me up and down with a now seductive look.
Julie - a quiet, supposedly lonely, man like you? With a breathtaking, beautiful woman who sleeps with you? Something is bound to happen.
Y/N - well nothing happened at all.
I look away, looking at the coffee table only to be turned back to her by her delicate hands. Her face with a smile screamed 'ecstasy but in a way I couldn't tell why.
Julie - one night with me? What would happen?'
Y/N - we would just sleep, I would go on the couch to let you sleep.
Julie - you wouldn't sleep with your noona?

Julie - but you can with Suzy?

She leans in closer to me, her eyes closing but I, the third person in these girls lives. I didn't want to go through with her intentions.
I slowly backed her off, my hands on her shoulders. Slowly pushing her away without aggressive intent as she opened her eyes, a bit saddened by the action.
Y/N - uhm- hey. I might just go back up. Feeling a bit tired.
She nods in understanding, her smile not fading but now held, a sudden sadness that lingered in the air.

I got up, excusing myself and walked over to the front door.
Putting on my shoes, I glanced back at her.
Her eyes glued to the couch with her hair covering her face.
Once on, I stood up. Turning my body to face her.
Y/N - hey Jules.
She looks at me, her smile never having faltered to her current state.
Julie - yeah?
Y/N - I know. I know how it feels.
She nodded in what I meant by it.

I nod, my face grimacing at the floor as I turn around, holding onto the doorknob.
Julie - I- I'm sorry.
Looking back at her, the door already opened half way
Y/N - don't be. I'll see you tomorrow okay?
With one more nod and a soft, saddened smile.
Julie - okay.
I left the house with a click of the door closing.
I walked up the stairs, but instead of going in. I turned around, facing the rails that occupied why I never fell over my ass when I used to come home drunk.
With a sigh, I looked over to the sunset, the wind breeze that wasn't cold enough to make me shiver but yet, it made me ponder.
Y/N - maybe I am, a bit unbearable.
Scratching the back of my head, I sighed once more.
Basking into the eternal glow of the sunset that felt little less more welcoming to my side.
