Storybook shops & neighborhoods gave way to bigger & grander districts.
Looming high on a central hill, a magnificent palace rose with dozens of towers. Banners blew in the breeze with the crests of countless noble houses.
Magical denizens & guards walked the streets, and Alexan & Aurelia exchanged glances & whispers.
Humans being escorted by two guards, a drakhe, and an orc - hands on the hilts of their swords, drew just as many curious and suspicious looks.
At last they reached the castle gates. High and enchanted with a glimmering barrier, a motif of vaguely recognisable creatures and humanoids adorned the wrought metal. The image sparked hope at least, that this was a more unified and peaceful place than not.
