Song of the Silenced
The mageries are supposed to keep mages safe from a world that hates them--a world ravaged by demons and destroyed by the Apocalypse. But Jacinth knows better. Mageries were built to keep the world safe from them.
Since her kind stole the Divine Instruments and tried to usurp the One God's throne, the world has been in ruins. Those that survived the virus and demonic onslaught now live in disparate city-states, struggling to rebuild civilization. But the Magistrate teaches that the One God will return--granted all mages are kept in their place, and the Divine Instruments are locked away, never to be used again.
Jacinth is only twenty, but already knows she will never see the outside world. Then she discovers a mysterious, pre-Apocalyptic relic in the magery, and while it might grant her salvation, it has secrets of its own--secrets that have ended the world once before. And in exchange for its power, she might have to sacrifice everything she loves... and start a war she has no hope of winning.
