I shake Jaden awake
"Wake up Jaden"
I say whispering but loud
Jaden slowly opens his eyes
"Im awake."
He just looks at me
"We have arrived! There are a total of 40 of you campers so we will not return to camp with missing campers!"
"We have 3 hours here so make it worth while!"
I hear the announcer say happy
"THERE WILL BE A SCAVENGER HUNT!"
"THE FOLLOWING ARE THE ITEMS NEEDED TO WIN $100! 3 winners only"
"A paper airplane, a heart shaped chocolate box, a pink cowboy hat, and A FORK!"
Jaden looks at me and says
"Seems fun"
"It does"
I say a little excited for the hunt
Me and jaden wait for the rest of them get out the bus before we do.
We get out and walk to the entrance of maplebalm mall.
"So what do we do first?"
I ask him
"I don't know."
He answers blankly not as excited at me
"Let's eat"
I tell him suggesting
"Why?"
He asks clearly confused
"Well that's the only way we can get a fork, Duhh."
I say poking at how oblivious he was
He looks at me and nods
"I'm not paying"
He says raising his hands up
"Okay you're such a gentleman"
I say sarcastically
"It's not like I'm interested in the hunt"
He continues
"Boo lame"
I say rolling my eyes, entering the mall and start walking to the nearest restaurant I see.
Jaden follows behind me on his phone, clearly uninterested being my plus one.
"Bro are you kidding"
He says looking at where we were gonna eat.
"Waffle house!"
I say happy and jumping a little
"It's not even allat y/n."
Jaden tells me stopping my joy.
"STOP being soo lame"
I smack at him
We go in and order 2 waffles
I hand over my cash but get interrupted by Jaden.
"Do you take apple pay?"
Jaden asks the cashier
"Yes we do."
They answer
He pays and thanks them.
He starts walking to the tables and sit down, I sit down infront of him.
"What was that for Jaden?"
I ask him a little angry
"What? You expect me to let a girl pay?"
He answers and goes back on his phone.
"Thanks I guess"
I say a little dumbfounded.
As we wait for our food I couldn't help but talk to him.
I ask him
"Why are you always on your phone?"
"Nunya."
He replies in a cold tone.
"Nunya??"
I ask confused
"Nunya business y/n."
He continues
I just look at him shocked at what he just did
"Why would you even do that"
I say laying my hand on my face dramatically.
Jaden looks away at his phone and sees my state
"Stop being so dramatic"
He says looking at me weird, starts laughing and goes back on his phone
I laugh too
"Well I don't want to be around a brick wall"
I continue
"You expect me to warm up to you y/n?"
He asks with a sudden change of tone
"Well yeah I mean I AM y/n y/l/n."
I say flaunting off myself
"Pshh sure"
He looks at me weird again and laughs.
Our food arrives and we start eating, he doesn't talk to me one bit.
We finish eating.
"We got the fork, now fold this paper towel into a plane"
I tell him
"K"
He says and folds it into a plane
"Now what??"
He asks me already fed up
"I'm gonna go buy a heart shaped chocolate box."
I say while standing up and start to walk away until
He grabs my arm stopping me from walking
"Won't you get lost?"
He says with a protective tone
"Who are you? My dad?"
I say while letting go of his grasp and get out the restaurant, walking to the nearest chocolate stand.
I get to the stand and notice ava stand beside me buying a chocolate too.
She looks at me and says
"Heyy"
"Hi?"
I say a little wary of her
"Chill I won't bite you"
She tells me
"Oh, okay"
I say and look away from her
She looks at me grabbing my attention and asks me with a nice smile
"So are you also doing the hunt?"
"Yeah, Jaden's helping me but he's honestly dragging me down"
I answer joking ly
She laughs hard
"Haha yeah he can be like that"
"Wanna hang around after the hunt gets finished? I need to buy a new fenty highlighter."
"Sure"
I say already warming up to her
We check out our chocolates and wave bye to eachother, I start walking to the restaurant and get stopped by
"Jaden? What are you doing out here?"
I ask him as he's just standing holding our stuff and staring at me.
"What are YOU doing talking to her?"
He says concerned with what I'm doing
"Oh shut up Jaden she's really nice"
I continue
"Don't be so innocent y/n, she'll get you when you least expect it."
He says looking down at me and notices I have extra chocolates
"Who are those for?"
He asks
"For me and Luisa duhh"
I answer
"Now we need a pink cowboy hat"
I say
"Let's go to the arcade at the photo booths."
Jaden answers
"Why?"
I ask oblivious
"Well we can buy one there but we need to take pics first"
He says
"Then let's go"
I say and start walking to the arcade, he obviously follows behind me.
We arrive at the arcade and buy coins for the photo booth.
We put in 5 coins for 5 pics.
The 1st pic we just smile at the camera.
The 2nd I do peace signs with a smile and he does a 🤘 with a blank face
The 3rd, I do the peace sign with my other hand, smiling. I didn't see what Jaden was doing.
The 4th, I turn to look at him and notice how close he was.
"Jaden complete my heart hurry"
I say as I do half a heart with my left hand.
He completes the heart with his right hand and we smile at the camera.
The 5th, I look at him positioning a ✌ behind his head to make him have bunny ears. But I noticed he was just staring deep into me. I stare back.
The final pic flashes and we continue staring, I feel goosebumps and snap back to reality, I grab the pics.
I notice in the 3rd pic, Jaden was just looking at me as if he was inlove with me haha. Weirdo.
I turn to him and smack him
"Why do you keep staring at me?"
I say while laughing
"What no I wasn't"
He denies it while chuckling
"Yeah you were"
I say smacking him more
"Y/n seriously do you have a smacking problem"
He says limping dramatically
"Do you have a staring problem?"
I stop smacking because of how hard I was starting to laugh.
We both take a copy and go to the booth guy who was selling the pink cowboy hat, we buy one.
"Yesss we're finally done"
I say happy and a little exhausted from all the walking.
Let's go to the bus and hand these over.
We start walking and walking and walking, Jaden holding our stuff and me holding nothing because I'm a princess.
We finally arrive at the bus,
And hand the hunt stuff over to the councilor.
"A paper airplane.. heart chocolate box a fork and a pink cowboy hat.. perfect! Congrats! You guys are first to win!"
The councilor says and hands us both $100.
"Thank you thank you thank you!"
I say jumping happily
"Thank you ma'am"
Jaden says
"Well you guys have an hour more to explore, take care!"
The councilor goes back in the bus and I turn to Jaden
"What now?"
I ask him
"I don't know y/n"
He says with a blank face.
"Why are you soo lame"
I complain
"Well I'd rather be playing basketball with Javon right now than be with you."
He tells me with a sudden change of tone.
I get a little hurt and my eyes get a little watery
"Well then you can go away from me now, you were the one following me!"
I say a little loud
He walks into the bus.
I can't believe he said that, I really did think he was warming up to me..
I stand still not knowing whether to explore the mall again or get in the bus too.
Obviously I choose to explore the mall because I don't want to see Jaden's face right now.
I walk back in the mall and go to sephora, might as well use my $100 on SOMETHING.
"Hey girll"
I notice a female voice say behind me
I turn around and notice ava
"Oh hi ava"
I say with a timid tone
"Are you okay?"
She asks concerned
"No yeah I'm okay"
I say
"Did Jaden say something?"
She continues
"Yeah actually, how'd you find out?"
I ask a little amazed at how quick she figured
"Oh nothing he does it alot."
She says looking away and forming a blank face
"Well then come with me, let's go around this whole store."
She says lighting up the mood
I follow her around and see all the dirty drunk elephant testers
"Ewww who shat here?"
I say and laugh
Ava looks at me shocked at what I just said a laughs too
"GIRL you did not"
She says and starts laughing harder
We go around the whole store sampling shades on our hands, taking mirror pics and having a heat convo with one of the rude employees.
"Well I don't care if you think this isn't for me will you just get one for me so I can buy it?
Ava says to the employee
The employee walks away after being rude to us.
"What a sad person"
I say
"Yeah a sad rude lame person"
Ava continues
We laugh and get out the sephora, walking to the exit out the mall.
"That was so fun ava you actually lifted my mood"
I say thanking her a little
"Anytime girl you obviously needed it"
She says and hugs me.
We get in the bus, ava sits front and I go back to where me and Jaden originally sat.
As I walk I see Jaden already sat so I sit beside him.
"Did you have fun with the devil's spawn?"
He asks annoyed
"What do you mean?"
I ask back
"Ava, you know she's not good."
He continues
"Well she's actually is really nice and I don't think she'll ever bite my back."
I say back at him
"I'm just saying y/n, I've seen her betray even her closest friends."
He says annoyed just scrolling on his phone with an airpod in.
"Whatever Jaden, you don't hold my life you know."
I say and he looks at me with a face but goes back on his phone.
I put an airpod in and listen to neon moon by c.a.s
I pat Jaden's shoulder signaling I wanna lay and he doesn't even nod.
I still lay on it, and start to fall asleep until I get interrupted by him
"CAS?"
"Yeah, how'd you know?"
I ask still laying
"They're leaking through your pods but yeah I love CAS."
He says with a nice tone
"Cool Jaden now shut up I'm tired"
I say and finally fall asleep.
