"Adhya," he called out to me, but I chose to ignore him, focusing intently on folding the clothes in front of me.

"Adhya," his voice softened, but still, I offered no response.

Growing irritated, he called my name again, his tone now tinged with annoyance.

His frustration was evident as he ran his hands through his hair, a habit he often resorted to when agitated.

Finally, he took a seat beside me, his presence demanding my attention.

"Adhya, answer me, or I'll show you just how mercilessly I can make you beg," he threatened, a smirk playing on his lips as he noticed my widened eyes.

"What?" I snapped, my anger palpable in my voice.

"Let me explain," he said calmly, his expression unreadable as I hummed in response, reluctantly giving him my attention.

"What you saw was just a misunderstanding. I tripped over her, and it made me hover above her, but I would never cheat on you," he explained earnestly, his words dripping with sincerity.

I nodded in response, silently conveying my trust in him.

"Adhya, use your words. The world won't come crashing down if you communicate with me. I've noticed that I'm the person you talk to the least," he said, his tone tinged with a hint of sulkiness.

His sudden confession left me feeling mortified.

"Yes, I understand ji," I stammered, my face flushing with embarrassment.

"For goodness' sake, Adhya, I don't know when you're going to stop calling me 'ji'," he exclaimed with a sigh, his frustration evident.

"Ruhani left," he informed me, and a wave of relief washed over me as the bitch left

I nodded in response.

"I'll be in the study, I have some work to do. If you need anything, just call me," he said, his tone businesslike.

"Of course, attending to your second wife is crucial," I muttered under my breath.

"She's my first wife, Adhya," he corrected me, earning a sharp glare from me.

"I'll kill you if you tell me she's your first wife or your first love," I retorted, my jealousy bubbling to the surface.

"Of course she's my first love," he teased, provoking me further.

"Oh really? Then go to your first love, from now on fuck her, not me," I snapped, emphasizing the word 'fuck'.

He looked horrified as I stormed out of the room in a sulk.

"No, it's not fair, Adhya!" he shouted after me.

"Everything is fair," I shot back, refusing to be swayed by his pleading.

He slumped, defeated, as he received a business call, while I couldn't help but chuckle at his childish behavior. Sometimes, it felt like I was handling three babies at once.

Today, Vihan was insistent on going to the park, his puppy-dog eyes and adorable pout that made me give in.

As soon as we stepped into the park, Vihan dashed off with unbridled excitement, his antics bringing smiles to both mine and Vrihanika's faces.

"Vihan, it's getting late, and we need to head home," I gently reminded him after what felt like ages of play.

"Just 5 more minutes, Mumma," he pleaded, his tiny fingers buried in the sand.

With a sigh, knowing that, he has been telling this "5 minutes" for past 30 minutes. I tried once more, "Please, beta."

His gaze softened, seeing my doey eyes which he inherited from me .

After a series of negotiations and coaxing, we finally made our way out of the park,

"Mumma, ice keam (cream!)" Vihan exclaimed, his excitement palpable as he darted towards the treat.

But my heart stopped as I realized he hadn't noticed the oncoming car. With a surge of adrenaline, I sprinted and managed to push him out of harm's way just in time.

The car screeched to a halt, the sound of the brakes piercing the air, mere inches from where I stood, heart pounding with relief and fear.

I apologized to the car driver and strided my way towards vihan.

I gently cradled Vihan in my arms, I scanned his tiny body for any signs of injury, finding only a small bruise on his foot from that happened when I pushed him .

As his tears dampened my shoulder, I whispered soothing words to him.

Outside, Vrihanika was being escorted by her bodyguards to the waiting car.

Sighing heavily, I settled into the car, my mind still haunted by the image of the vehicle striking Vihan.

The thought of what could have been sent shivers down my spine, but I pushed aside the intrusive thoughts, focusing on the present moment.

It wasn't until I hissed in pain that I noticed the bruises on my palm and elbow. Ignoring the discomfort, I focused on ensuring Vihan's comfort, directing one of the maids to attend to Vrihanika before carrying my son to our room.

Vihan stirred awake, his grip tight around my neck, seeking solace in my embrace. Despite the pain it caused me, I allowed him this small comfort.

Sitting beside him on the bed, I reached for the first aid kit, preparing to tend to his injuries, when Adhvik stormed into the room.

"Adhya," he called, his voice dripping with fury, "How could you be so careless? Do you have any idea how to care for a child?"

My heart sank at his harsh words, tears welling in my eyes as I struggled to find my voice. Vihan flinched at the intensity of his father's anger, a sight that only fueled my distress.

"I didn't mean for any of this to happen." I spoke

"You're useless," he spat, his disappointment evident in every syllable, "I regret marrying you."

His words hung in the air like a heavy cloud, suffocating me with their weight. Tears streamed down my cheeks.

"Move" Adhvik said making me flinch by his voice.

Adhvik took charge of tending to Vihan's wounds.

His words still echoed in my mind.

"Just don't be in my sight, Adhya," he snapped, his irritation palpable. With a heavy heart, I retreated from the room, wiping away my tears as I descended the stairs to the kitchen.

"Papa," Vihan's soft voice called out to me.

I turned to face him, masking my pain with a gentle smile. "Yes, my prince?"

"Mumma also got wounds," he informed me.

Confusion knitted my brows. "How?"

He recounted the terrifying moment in the park, making me regret for my actions.

"You shouldn't scold Mumma," Vihan admonished me firmly.

I nodded, a lump forming in my throat. After Vihan drifted off to sleep, I surrounded him with pillows for safety, silently cursing myself for my impulsive outburst.

Intent on apologizing to Adhvik, I was interrupted by an urgent business call, forcing me to retreat to my home office.

Hours slipped by unnoticed, and when I finally returned to our bedroom, I found Vihan and Vrihanika peacefully asleep, pillows guarding them from harm.

She must have feeded them and tucked them in bed again.

My eyes searched for her presence but I couldn't find her.

My worries were now as high as mountain. I immediately started searching for her

But Adhya was nowhere to be found.

My worry mounting, I followed the sound of faint sobbing to a guest room, where I discovered her curled up on the floor, tears staining her cheeks.

Seeing her like that, my heart pricked and the amount of regret amplifying.

"Adhya," I whispered softly, her flinch piercing my heart.

As she lifted her head, her eyes betrayed a mixture of hurt and fear, causing a pang of guilt to sear through me.

"I'm sorry, Adhya," I pleaded, my own voice trembling with remorse. "I should have listened to you."

Her forgiveness came too easily, her nod a hollow assurance of acceptance. "Say something," I urged, desperate for her words to bridge the chasm between us.

But her response was a painful reminder of the damage my words had wrought. "What can I say, ji?" she whispered brokenly. "You regret marrying me."

My heart clenched at her words.

"Maybe, like you said, you have to divorce me and mar-"Without another word, I silenced her with a tender kiss, my heart aching with the realization of what truly mattered.

I couldn't bear the thought of a life without her.

I didn't know why I felt like I would lose a part of me when she said like that. I was the one who always asked her to divorce me at the initial stage of her marriage but now that thought was making me scare.
