Nicolle stopped packing, her hands fell to her side and once again the sparkle in her eyes only faded. She could not believe that he overheard the conversation with her brothers, she understood that they were loud, sure anyone could have heard, but what made her most mad was that he lied about it.

"Nic, look I didn't mean to, I was just-" He began speaking but she interrupted him.

"Save it Pablo" She muttered her tone dropping and now he couldn't help but feel stupidly bad, it wasn't his place to fully hear the conversation, but he did anyway and he wasn't going to drop the subject now.

"No, Nicolle I will not" He snapped back, watching as she shot her head up in his response.

"I am just worried, you have changed so much that so many people are worried about you" He continued feeling the rage start to build up inside of him.

"Look I didn't mean to overhear the conversation but-" He started but once again got interrupted by the girl only standing just a few inches away from him

"But you did anyway" Nicolle now spoke, trying hard to hold in the tears that were yet to push out.

Nicolle couldn't believe it still, but what she couldn't understand was why he never told her, why didn't he admit it and make her believe that everything would be fine and that she would bring this up with him the day after tomorrow... He was only acting and now he could see for herself why she was in every right to think that he still wasn't genuine and couldn't be trusted.

"What did you hear exactly?" She asked with no movement but her face, her body still standing frozen, fighting any urge to run out the door. She knew that she had to speak to him now, even though they both knew that it wasn't the best idea.

"That you don't think that I am genuine when I confessed and you don't trust me yet" He responded, the annoyance now evident in his voice upon hearing and restating these words, which did cause the atmosphere to fall silent for a few minutes.

That was before he asked;

"Is that true..?"

The girl could only take a deep breath to compose herself, she didn't want to speak today, at night when the day was near its end and beginning to plan the following day. When they both worked from dusk to dawn and were nothing but exhausted. She wanted to speak to him on the weekend when they both had a fresh mind when they woke and had nothing to think about deeply.

"Nicolle answer" He snapped at her again, only closing her eyes in response followed by a big sigh.

"Nico-" He tried again but that's when she couldn't hold it anymore and burst.

"Yes, it is okay, now back off" She shouted her voice overwriting his, now feeling the tears run down her cheek just looking at the boy in front of her. She knew that he wanted more information, he wanted to know the 'why'.

"Nicolle, what do you mean?" This time he mumbled his question, he was more full of guilt than hatred.

"Because Pablo, you went with that stupid dare for a full month, you fkg played with my feelings during that month and refused to tell me because you were apparently scared of the outcomes, then just over a month you called me to a cafe to talk and confess your feelings right there, putting me on the spot, how the hell am I meant to trust someone who played me for thirty full straight days, how do I know he isn't put up for it again to make more money" She broke down, her voice trembling, the tears flowing into puddles and only staining her eyes red, she watched as Pablo's hands turned into fists, her now getting worried.

"Trust is not easy Pablo, especially after what you did, yes I have forgiven you but I need time, I need time to think it over, to see that it isn't all for any more horseplay" She resumed not letting Pablo speak a word. The Spaniard only looked at her, with sorrow, trying to control his other emotions.

"How do I know you won't hurt me again"

"Nicolle, I showed you how much I cared, I told you everything about you, I took the liberty to learn everything about you and I vowed to never forget any of it, can't you understand that I would not do something like that again" He yelled, kicking the chair in front of her desk, watching it fall over almost hitting the girl in front.

"Nic!, I didn't mean to, I am sorry," He said walking towards her and watching as she only stepped back, he looked at the chair on the floor and then at the girl in front of him, the chair was near close to hitting her in the leg, and only could only imagine the worry on his face.

"You know Pablo, I wanted to tell you this Saturday, and believe it or not I wanted to talk about how I have been feeling and maybe find a way to make it work" She spoke her voice only going softer and softer.

"But I am not really sure anymore..." she now barely mumbled, loud enough for Pablo to hear, her head dropping low.

Pablo's eyes widened as Nicolle's words hung heavy in the air. He could feel the weight of his past actions pressing down on him, realizing the depth of the wounds he had inflicted on her. The room fell into an uncomfortable silence, broken only by the sound of Nicolle's stifled sobs.

"Nicolle, I messed up, and I know that. But I genuinely care about you, and I never meant to hurt you. Please, give me a chance." Pablo took a hesitant step forward, his voice softer this time, but when he took that step forward she only moved backward more.

"Pablo, it's not just about your confession. It's about the trust that was shattered and the emotional rollercoaster I went through. I need time to heal." Nicolle looked up at him, her tear-filled eyes searching for sincerity. The room felt suffocating, and the tension between them was palpable. She shook her head slowly, struggling to find the words.

Pablo clenched his fists again, frustration etched on his face. "I can't change the past, Nicolle. I can only show you that I've changed. I care about you more than anything."

Nicolle's expression hardened as she wiped away her tears. "Actions speak louder than words, Pablo. And right now, I need action, I need to see."

The room felt charged with unresolved emotions. Nicolle's internal struggle was evident, torn between her lingering feelings for Pablo and the fear of being hurt again. Pablo, desperate to salvage what was left, reached out to touch her arm gently.

Before his fingers could make contact, Nicolle recoiled. "Don't touch me, Pablo. I can't do this right now."

Nicolle took a step back, distancing herself from him. The room echoed with the heaviness of unspoken words. She looked at the scattered chair and sighed, realizing the mess that had become.

"I need time to think," Nicolle declared, her voice steady now.

Pablo nodded, a mix of sadness in his eyes.

She turned away, her gaze fixed on the chair again. With a deep breath, she straightened herself, composed but broken. Without another word, she stormed out of the room, leaving Pablo standing there, grappling with the notes of the argument.

The door slammed shut, echoing the finality of the moment. Pablo sank into another chair, running his hands through his hair. The room now felt emptier than before, and the echoes of their shattered connection lingered in the air, like fragments of a broken promise.

But it was true, she confirmed she had feelings for him and that she believed based on the times they hung out that maybe he shifted gears but based on what just happened not even a minute ago, there was more than enough evidence to say that it was best to not try anymore.

Once she reached her car she tossed her things into the backseat and made her way to the front speeding off away, working to make her way out onto the main road ahead and get home, she needed her brothers, she needed to tell them, she couldn't keep this stuff in anymore.

Meanwhile, Pablo stood up, him now frozen in place, eyes fixated on the chair he kicked towards her. Which in essence wasn't meant to happen, yes he was furious but he did not want to hurt her. The chair was close to following on her leg, but still, it was stupid of him.

He just couldn't help but feel frustrated, he had shown her every possible reason that he wasn't lying, that he would do anything to have a second chance with her, to be able to call her his again and for real this time. But any chance he had now of wanting that to happen was possibly low, even to the point of zero itself.

The only good thing that came out of this was he got his intel on why Nicolle said the things she said to Fernando the other night. But still, it was not in the right place to have done any of this to her.

He didn't move from his place and only thought about the notes from this rather heated conversation. Not only did he love her, he was in love with her and would do anything to make sure she was happy and okay.

Everything was right in its place, moving into a smooth lane, when he decided to change terrain, but why did it occur to him today, why couldn't his brain be delayed longer so that Saturday would come and they could talk then? He sighed and went to pick up the chair placing it back in its place. He looked around the room before stepping out.

Pablo gathered his belongings and left the training facility, he couldn't shake the weight of regret that settled on his shoulders. The realization of his impulsive actions and the potential damage inflicted on his relationship with Nicolle hit him like a ton of bricks. The drive home was filled with an unsettling silence, broken only by the haunting echoes of their argument replaying in his mind.

Still, deep in thought he only started to piece two and two together and get himself to realize that Nicolle may have shared a point, if not multiple, she wasn't wrong, she needed time to build the trust again and see that nothing worse would come.

One thing for sure was he was going to get a kick in the head from Pedri tomorrow, he had permission to join and watch the training for the afternoon, and knowing Nicolle she doesn't hide anything from her siblings.

The girl navigated through the streets with a mix of anger and confusion. The betrayal she felt was palpable, and as she sped towards the house, her mind raced with thoughts of how to convey the emotional turmoil she was experiencing. She needed their support, their advice on how to handle the complexity of her feelings for Pablo.

Arriving home within twenty minutes, possibly having caused herself a ticket, Nicolle burst through the door with a storm of emotions. Her brothers, sensing the urgency in her demeanor, gathered around her, demanding an explanation. Through tearful recounting, she spilled the details of the explosive confrontation with Pablo, she said everything not missing a single detail, she told them everything. Once she finished she ran to her room and slammed the door shut, sliding down the door letting the tears now silent flow, indicating now that she wanted to be alone for the remainder of the night to follow.

Pablo, in the solitude of his home, replayed the events of the day over and over. The regret and self-loathing intensified as he grappled with the consequences of his actions. His mind raced with questions about how he could repair the damage he had done, but the uncertainty of Nicolle's feelings and the gravity of his mistake weighed heavily on him.

I am sorry for everything Estrella.
