I was pushing on fairly well that morning. Just did my usual and tried out some callisthenics which I picked up while over in Japan.

I closed the door behind me hearing her muffled squeals of happiness behind the door making me chuckle
I headed into the bathroom and took a quick shower, shaving a little of my face after coming out.

I took a long look at my face, imagining if I grew out a beard.
I waved it off since I did have one growing while I was out in Japan, it wasn't thick or anything. I just had some stubble, but it wasn't much to be honest.
I got out of the bathroom newly changed and looked to my right to see her cooking away in the kitchen. I smiled at the view and headed into my bedroom. Drying my hair.
After doing so, I headed back out and went behind her, putting my hand on her shoulder.

She smiles, kissing my cheek while I looked at the pan

We both laughed, quickly hugging her side making my way to the couch and put on the tv.
I just quietly watched the news until Min-Jeong came up and put the dishes on the coffee table.
We ate that morning with no changes to anything. And continuing up to the afternoon, Min-Jeong was in my room all of a sudden sporting an cosy outfit making me look up from my laptop while I was working on the video that I hadn't finished yet

We both laugh with her closing the door. Maintaining my gaze on the laptop, not wanting to touch the keyboard until I heard her close the front door.
As Soon as I heard the click of the door closing. I took out my phone and opened up a tracker for the package I ordered.
Y/N - where is it?
I got her a present for her birthday and I was hoping it would be delivered today and I didn't want her to find out.
I looked at it while I saw it was coming in a few minutes.
I prayed to god that the truck didn't come by the building yet, so I can quickly sign off and grab it and hide it under my bed. Which looked big enough to house it.
I had bought her a guitar since she was talking about getting one, she showed which one she wanted one day while we were on the couch just chilling on top of each other. I took it to mind and bought it while she wasn't looking and hoped it came before new years. But looks like it was coming today
Y/N - I hope the amp I bought as well is good.
I bit my nails anxiously watching the tracker before stopping at our address.
I quickly grabbed my jacket and keys and went out of my room and put on my shoes and ran out the door. Running down the stairs I looked for the delivery guy
Delivery - Y/N?
Y/N - yup that's mine
He showed me his tablet for me to sign off on and quickly took care of it while I eyed the boxes beside him
Delivery - that's everything.

We bowed at each other, I took a long good look at the boxes facepalming.
Y/N - fuck I forgot these motherfuckers are big
There were two boxes to deal with and if I had to time it right.
It only takes 20 minutes to go to the convenience store, knowing her. She would be picky in picking out snacks, giving me another maybe 5-10 minutes?
Every second counted so I eyed the smallest one

I grabbed the box and it wasn't too heavy so I quickly ran up the stairs and put it beside the front door before running back down and grabbing the guitar box. It was more heavier but I had to pull through and get it inside before she came home.
I got to the front door and quickly sat the guitar box down first and opened the door. I put my shoe in front as a door stopper and quickly grabbed the amp box, kicking down my bedroom door. I looked for a spot to hide this first.
I looked at the closet and it looked big enough to hold it and if I put a pile of clothes on it, it could camouflage really well. I sat the box down first and went out to go grab the guitar box. I kicked my shoe back inside and sat the box alongside the amp box as I looked at them.
I grabbed the amp box and put it on the closet, putting some clothes on top of it. Diligently eyeing it from every angle to make sure it wasn't visible.
I then put the guitar box under my bed and covered it up with some shoe boxes.
I put my hands on my waist thanking myself for the good job. I then hear the front door open, I walked out of my room to see with a bag full of snacks and drinks

She puts the bag on the counter making me get up and help her take out things she's brought

I pick up bars of chocolate and various candy while examining the very unfair ratio of snack to sweets

I give them a sort of 'i told you so' look to which Jimin suddenly bursts out laughing, slapping her knee
Kar - ah damn, now I gotta go find a partner
Gis - and good luck with that, if we end up as idols, say bye bye to relationships
Y/N - oh yeah. I heard about that, that sounds like it would suck
Gis - yeah but we would be surrounded by other hot idols and my god
Aeri jokingly does a worship drooling sort of look which makes Jimin laugh even more

Y/N - well thank you Yu Jimin.

Kar - Min-Jeong-ah, me and Y/N would never. We're just the same age that's why we gave each a look. There's not much people my age in the dorms

She pops out from the hole of my hoodie, showing only half her face making Aeri take out her phone

Aeri rotates her camera to take a selfie of all of us as Ning goes up from behind the couch of where I was, standing by where my side was supposed to be

Like a camera, the best parts of a moment could never be replicated on a photo. Because what matters was how we all felt captured within a click, but could never be shown again the next second.

We watched the New Year's countdown with Min-Jeong actually out of my hoodie this time
Everyone - 5! 4! 3! 2!
I looked at them which made me smile, it was nice. Being surrounded by other people this time.
Every year before then I was with my family but, hyung was always out partying. Appa would be asleep before the countdown and the only people I spent it with was with Eomma and Daisy.

We all then looked over to Min-Jeong who was still celebrating with her eyes closed. We gazed on her silently until she opened her eyes

We all rushed in to hug her as she wholeheartedly laughed, we didn't care about the new year. The only thing that mattered was her right now
We all took turns to hug her until lastly was me
Y/N - happy birthday Min-Jeongie
She blushed, I wrapped my arms around tightly kissing her on the forehead causing Ning to just lose connection her brain
Ning - I- OPPA!
We all laugh at Ning's reaction while the girls brought out some bags that they brought with them which unknown to me and Min-Jeong was their gifts for the birthday girl
We all sat on the couch, I watched Min-Jeong happily accepting her friend's gifts.
I watched with a leg over my other, my finger on my face happily smiling at her. She was happy. Until they all looked at me
Kar - so where's yours?
I uncrossed my legs making me get up
Y/N - okay wait here
I jogged to my room while the girls giggled, I then went into my room and grabbed the amp box first and headed out the door back to the living room
Y/N - okay this is only the first part
The girls eyed it with confusion as I bolted back to my room, I got on my stomach and swatted away the shoeboxes and grabbed the guitar box. I got up and carried it to the living room, setting it down in front of Min-Jeong.
The box was bigger than her as I went over to the kitchen to grab a knife.
Win - what's this?
Y/N - you'll see
I cut off the tape on the box and put it on the ground.
Y/N - go ahead, open it.
I went back to the kitchen to put away the knife quickly making my way back to the living room
I stood from the tv watching her open it, the guitar was in a bag so she couldn't make out what it was while the girls watched
Win - hm?
She unzips it and she suddenly screamed
Win - OH MY GOD!
She didn't even take a second to just put it down as she got up and ran to me and jumped on me hugging me while I caught her
Win - THANK YOU!
I was taken aback by her sudden happy state, I hugged her back while I looked over at her shoulder. The girls were melting in smiles
Ning - I've never seen unnie this happy.
Gis - me too.
Kar - she is lucky.
Min-Jeong kisses me on the cheek and gets off as she happily runs back and gets on her knees to look at the guitar. She took it out of the bag and took the foam off the controls and the stuff that was blocking everything.
Y/N - there's a cable as well in the bag. I had them to put it in there
Win - eh?
I point over to the amp box
Win - oh! Is that an amp!?!
Y/N - mhmm, want me to open for you?
Win - please?
I softly laugh, squatting over to the amp box and being too lazy to grab the knife again. I use my strength to rip open the box without damaging anything as the girls ooo at my strength
Kar - strong guy huh?
Y/N - I was an athlete haha
I took out the amp and took off the foam and everything and laid it beside her, she tuned the guitar with her phone
Gis - hey, isn't that guitar a bit too pointy?
Ning - actually yeah? It doesn't really scream 'Kim Min-Jeong' to me
To be fair, it was a black US made custom shop Jackson Kelly so it wouldn't really fit her shy introverted personality
(peep the guitar solo she did in Seoul for their Hyper line concert from last year. The guitar she played is a Jackson Kelly, not exactly sure what model but it looked like a US made kelly. Yeah that's right I play guitar, author-nim has hobbies too okay.)
Y/N - come on, she asked for it
Win - I did!
She happily plays some riffs as she hummed to herself
Gis - I never could take Min-Jeong being into a rock person so that honestly surprised me
Y/N - you'll be surprised how much she got influenced by me
Kar - really? Were you into rock or something?
Y/N - mhmm, I guess you can say that. I did listen to this one band called Megadeth, the guitarist had the same exact guitar she's holding right now and I think she watched a video of them playing once. So she sort of took a liking to the shape she's holding right now
Win - and it's so cool!
Gis - wait. I don't remember you ever saying you played
Y/N - yeah and what also you didn't know is that she was vice president of her class for all of high school
Win - YAH HAJIMA DON'T TELL THEM THAT!
The girls ooo at her, she suddenly covered her face in embarrassment as she held her guitar
Y/N - haha, I love teasing her
Kar - you are practically her kryptonite
Min-Jeong looked back up at us, looking over to Aeri
Win - I learnt guitar in high school
Ning - why did you pick it up?
Win - seemed cool. Also I rewatched videos of what and me oppa used to watch from his favourite band
Gis - you really did influence her
Y/N - really? Oh, explains that one festival from 11th grade
Win - hehe
She played guitar for a band she formed just only for the festival. To be honest, I watched the entire thing cheering her on
Win - it's so cool I love it!
Ning - oh, I just noticed, she just called you oppa now. She only calls you by your name
Y/N - oh right, she does that when she's happy or mad at me
Gis - you guys are one dynamic duo or something
I took something out of my pocket

Min-Jeong looks at me as I flick the thing I took out of my pocket to her

Y/N - mhm yeah, I don't have one with me right now but I do play.

Y/N - I had a high school band as well aside from my other activities, didn't last long but boy was the fame cool
Ning - sounds like you were a big deal.
Win - he played after me when I did my set at the school festival
Y/N - MIN-JEONGIE!
She laughs to herself for payback
Okay maybe I lied, I watched her from afar, from the back of the stage. We did only share glances with each other when she finished, but she smiled when she did. And I could not tell if it was for me or herself.
Win - me and Y/N got picked for best performance of the night, but since we tied and people took a poll. Me and Y/N ended up tying and taking the trophy together.
And yeah, we stood up together but we were still weren't in communication
Win - actually yeah. Where'd you go after we got the trophy? You just disappeared
Y/N - hey, we weren't on speaking terms okay? I just let you keep the trophy
Gis - wait, weren't on speaking terms? What happened between you two?
Y/N&Win - long story.
Aeri scratched her head as Ning laughed at how we were in sync.
Ning - peas in a pod haha
Aeri just looked confused as Jimin spoke up, turning the conversation to a different topic
Kar - how much did you pay for the guitar?
Y/N - oh I had it custom made. It was like 3k in US dollars since I ordered it from their US site.
The girls jaws dropped even Min-Jeong's
Win - that's too much oppa!
Y/N - hey what can I say? Filmmaking money pays off really well, hell the shipping was a lot too to get here
It was already premade by the builders so the shipping wouldn't take too long anyways. Though I bribed them to just skip the inspection.
Win - and you didn't get yourself one?
Y/N - oh. Right. That slipped my mind.
Win - either way. Thank you so much.
Y/N - anything for you Min-Jeongie.
The girls smiled at me and Min-Jeong's interaction as Ning suddenly yawned
Ning - I'm tired.
Y/N - you girls heading home?
Ning - no?
Kar - didn't she tell you? We're sleeping over.
Y/N - oh.
Aeri - yeah, why'd you think we brought over backpacks?
I look to the side of the couch to see, indeed. Their backpacks.
Y/N - welp. I'm taking the couch
Win - no way, you're sleeping with me
The girls gasp again while I facepalmed
Y/N - I need to put tape on your mouth
She giggled to herself as Ning shouted once more
Ning - SHE SLEEPS WITH YOU?
Win - naked too
Y/N - NO WE DON'T!
I waved my arms around, I sighed heavily.
Y/N - ju- just. Let me get things ready and we can talk about who's gonna sleep where. And for the record, I sleep shirtless with her. She just sleeps in her underwear
The girls responded heavily with surprised faces
"WHAT THE FUC-"

An hour passed and everyone was already in their jammies while we all stood in the living room

I point to Ning, she happily smiles while I point to Min-Jeong

She quiets down while I pointed to both Aeri and Jimin
Y/N - You two can also sleep with them.
They high five as they look at me
Kar - so you're sleeping by yourself?
Y/N - yeah, since it'll be better if all of you sleep together in Min-Jeongie's room, I'll just sleep in mine. I gotta put in some work anyways. So I'll be up all night
Aeri - film stuff?
Y/N - errr wrong, just freelance stuff for a client.
Win - you're still on that?
Y/N - yeah. So, if you girls need anything, just go in my room and tap me on my shoulder. I'll probably have headphones listening to music so.
They all nod as we all break off to the rooms with them stopping before fully entering our rooms.
Y/N - don't forget to brush your teeth before going to bed
Kar - we're not kids Y/N
Y/N - yeah but that one is
I point to Ning, she waves at me making me chuckle
Y/N - haha cutie
Ning does a peace sign while Min-Jeong pouted
Y/N - it'll be fine. It's your birthday after all. And they're your friends.
Win - but you'll be all alone tonight.
Y/N - I've been alone for many years, one night won't hurt.
Whatever I said to them made them look a bit concerned but I shrugged it off.
Y/N - goodnight girls.
Aespa - goodnight Y/N.
I wave the girls off and headed into my room and sat on my chair
Y/N - here goes.
I put my laptop screen up and turned it on and grabbed my journal and a pen. Ready for a long night ahead of me.

Y/N - wh- what the fuck?
It was 4am. I don't remember jackshit at all.
I look to my side to see the cups of coffee I've drank.
I've had my headphones all the entire time. I just finished the work I was commissioned to do.
It was long, but it was worth it.
Maybe I should go to be....
(Winter's perspective)
I had suddenly woken up to a bang coming from Y/N's room.
Win - hmmhm?
I looked around me, everyone fell asleep in my bed. Snoring away as if there wasn't anything to be afraid of.
I took my time slowly moving myself not wanting to hit anyone to wake them up.
my lips were a bit dry. The feeling of being parched rushed into my lips the moment I opened my eyes till I got out of bed and silently tip-toed out of my bedroom.
Checking outside my door, peeking my head out. It was dark and the only thing illuminating was the streetlight outside of the building barely putting light in the living room.
I walked out silently heading towards the kitchen. I got a water bottle out of the cabinet and grabbed two glasses. One for me and one for Y/N, he must be awake.
I poured the water into the glasses and put the lid back on the bottle and put it away.
I quickly drank my glass first, wanting to give the glass to Y/N.
Putting the glass in the sink, I grabbed Y/N's glass and walked to his room. I knocked on his door, but I expected nothing because he probably had headphones on.
I slowly opened the door to see him, his eyes probably stuck to the screen but upon opening the door fully. His head was on his desk, his chest slowly breathing in and out.
He fell asleep.
I smiled softly, I laid the glass beside him when he woke up. Walking over to his bed, I grabbed his blanket and put it over him, not wanting to take his for once tonight.
Win - you must be really tired.
I kissed his cheek, his mouth saying my name again like he always does.
I look up at his laptop to turn it off but something catches my eye.
The screen was showing a single frame of me, a younger me. It appears to be filmed on a camcorder, the quality of it evident by my assumption.
Curious, his headphones were already on the table so I put them on and lowered the volume on his keyboard.
I hovered over his trackpad and checked how much already played.
"Is this the work he was commissioned to do?"
It was only set at the beginning, so I decided to click play.
The video played, hearing my mom's voice. Then Appa's. I smiled, it was me playing in a playground with oppa. My brother, not Y/N.
But then suddenly, I heard his voice.
Y/N, who was the same height as me when we were 5 walked into frame, grabbing my hand to go to the slide.
It suddenly transitioned to another video, it was of Y/N. I heard his voice behind the camera, it was shaky but I recognised his voice which gave me that he was 13 in this part of the video.
He showed his family to the camera, seeing everyone so young. Then onto my family. But he saved me for last. I smiled at the camera, giving him a heart.
But it cuts again.
"Wait......"
My voice. This is,
This was the school festival I played at.
The camera zooms in from a small crack from the curtains on the stage.
I remember the moment I was up on stage seeing out to a crowd full of classmates and other students.
I hear his voice behind the camera.
"That right there. is Min-Jeong."
I put my hand to my mouth. Not knowing on how to feel.
"She's my best friend. But, right now. She couldn't be."
I teared up. I never knew how he felt all these years. And hearing it from him.
A him where our absence from each other was still raw to our hearts.
"But. I miss her. Isn't she amazing?"
My lip quivered. My tears fell onto his desk, but I had to keep silent not to wake him up.
"I never knew she could sing so good. She's like an angel."
I glanced at his sleeping self beside me, making sure he was still awake. Then put my attention back to the screen.
"I miss her. A lot."
I whispered to myself of what I could've said to him if we made up all those years ago instead of now.
Win - I missed you too......
"She- She's the love of my life. And yet. I fucked it all up."
He turns the camera to himself, the song soon ending.
"I think I'll keep this for myself. If this is the last time I see her, I want to tell this to myself. L/N Y/N you are an idiot for losing her. I hope this makes you cry in the future"
He puts the camera back on me, I hear cheers from the crowd. Before zooming onto the back of my head
"Look at what you lost."
I turn around in the video causing him to quickly put down the camera. Turning to black.
I quietly sobbed to myself, closing my eyes.
But, suddenly my voice came again. But.
It's me. From now.
I look up at the screen.
It's from Christmas day.
Y/N had brought out his old camcorder that day and to mess with me. He took a video of me unexpectedly, creeping out from behind me
"Y/N! Can you give me a bar?!?! I'm too lazy to get up!"
The camera is shaky again, his voice whispering to the camera
"I'm gonna scare her"
I quietly laugh, my nose sniffling in response to my tears.
He grabs a bar from the pantry. But he ducks down showing the back of the couch before scaring me from behind.
"AHHHHHH!"
He laughs behind the camera, I hear my soft punches hit against him, the camera focused on me
"PABO!"
He laughs again, putting down the camcorder and the bar on the coffee table. Facing us on the couch.
He hugs me getting on the couch, I pouted and gave in to him and went on top of him. Wrapping my arms around him.
"Miahne. Miahne"
He laughs, I can see it in his face. His smile. So bright, a smile that I haven't seen in years. Maybe one I took for granted for so long.
"Is that camcorder recording?"
I ask him while I sat on his lap
"Nah. wanna see old videos of us?"
I laughed again at my ignorance that day. I really thought it wasn't recording.
"Yeah sure!"
He picks me up from my thighs, grabbing the camcorder while he held me
"Alright. Give me a second, let's go to my room to grab the cassettes"
I kissed him on the cheek in the video as he held the camera on us. The last frame of him smiling before stopping.
I wipe my tears from my face. My eyes went back to him sleeping beside me.
Win - oh. You...
I smiled, sniffling. Putting my attention back to the laptop. I quietly pushed the video back to the first frame so he knows that nothing happened while he slept. I took off his headphones and tried my best to put it where it was and put it in the same position from what I could remember.
I couldn't kiss him right now because it would wake him up. But I stood up straight and just admired his sleeping self.
Win - god. I love you so much.
I told that to myself quietly. His laptop would turn off by itself so I decided to walk to the door. But before I left. I looked over to my shoulder to see his mouth move.
"Mi- Min-J- Min-Jeongie........"
His mouth said my name. Making me silently laugh.
My lips formed into a soft, euphoric smile.
I turned back around to the door and quietly left and closed his door.
I went back into my room and got back into bed with Jimin-unnie beside me.
I looked to the ceiling and wondered
"Maybe he does feel the same way about me?"
And looked back to my girls.
And hope, just hoped.
That if I end up as an idol in the future.
I don't want to end up losing him again.
(A/N: HEY HEY HEYYYYYYY. it's me, author-nim. what's up, I'm just checking in. how's the story? I went with a new concept this time, well. Not really, I did the same thing with 'My Only One' but pfffff, I added in the Aespa girls for spice to it. how are you guys liking it so far? it's been a while since I did one of these, I think? but anyways. I'm just curious on how you guys are liking the story, I like it myself. It's very wholesome with a few naughty moments but no sex, because that's not what matters right now, though I sort of strayed away from making sex scenes a lot these days since well. I just don't think it fits much in my newer stories or chapters anymore but I can make another one when it actually fits the context y'know. but hey, I keep straying away from what I was gonna say so anyways again. how do you feel about the characters? I tried making Winter in the story as accurate as she would be in real life, minus the heavy flirting on her side. The rest of the Aespa girls have their own personalites which makes it more interesting I think on my part though I don't think I'm doing very good. But hey, I'm just looking for criticism or whatnot or just I don't know, put down how you feel about it so far? I don't know.
that's really all I got to say for now again. Hope you guys been okay, school season wrecks me hard but atleast I found purpose in writing again, so I hope to stick around longer this year.
