AU: where Tuck doesn't exist and Miranda learns something surprising about her life

"Binyamin" His father called to him "Βενιαμίν" He called again. He was growing increasingly irritated at the fact his son was not coming. "Benjamin" his voice boomed
"Father" Benjamin appeared before him
"Why must I call you in three different tongues for you to appear before me" He crossed his arms
"I was looking at her father" Ben smiled. He waved his hand and cloud appeared which showed a glimpse at what Miranda was doing.
"That is what I wanted to talk to you about" His father looked into the cloud
"Did I do something wrong" He asked
"No, my son. The prophecy is why I called you in here"
"Is it time for me to go tell her who she really is" Ben asked
"Yes" He nodded
"Is she ready"
"No one is ready to hear they have been living their lives amongst men when they are gods" He laughed
"I give her the option to embrace this or become forever mortal" He looked at her "what if she decides to become forever mortal"
"Then my son you have the option to become a mortal with her. She is your chosen one"
"But I do not want to be a mortal" He sighed
"Then I suggest you show her why being a god is better" His father clapped his hands sending Ben to the mortal realm. Ben hit the ground with a thud.
"A warning would have been nice" He stood up and dusted himself off. He looked at where he was. The hospital. He recognized it as where Miranda worked. He walked inside and admired the building. He didn't spend much time in the mortal realm but he did enjoy watching Miranda. When Ben was young the elder gods chose a mortal mate to bestow godly powers upon to be his wife. And just his luck they chose Miranda. He was completely infatuated by her.
"Umm hello, where can I find Miranda Bailey" Ben asked the woman sitting at the desk
"Does she know you" Someone walked over to him
"Umm I am an old friend. Benjamin" He smiled and stuck his hand out for a handshake
"Hello" The woman shook his hand. He used this opportunity to use some of his power and find out who this woman was
"Callie right" He smiled
"Uh yeah" She nodded
"You are friend of Miranda's" He smiled
"I'll go see if she's free" She walked off staring at the man. She found Miranda in the hall just having left a surgery
"Bailey" She called
"What's up" She smiled
"There's a Benjamin in the lobby. Says he knows you. Claims your old friends. He knew my name"
"I don't think I know a Benjamin. Let me go see this man" She furrowed her eyebrows.
Her and Callie made their way to the lobby where Ben was still waiting and smiling in anticipation.
"There he is" Callie pointed
"I have never seen that man before in my life" She shrugged "should I go over there"
"Well he knows you and he knows we're friends"
"Ahem Sir" Miranda walked over to him
"Miranda Bailey" Ben smiled. Feeling excited to finally be face to face with her.
"Do I know you from somewhere" She asked
"Is there somewhere private we can go. I have big news for you and I suggest we be in private to discuss it"
"Umm" She looked at Callie
"I'm coming too" Callie demanded
"That is fine" He nodded
They went to a closet to talk
"I wasn't expecting this" He looked around
"Just talk" Callie snapped her fingers
"I am Benjamin. I am a god and you Miranda are my chosen one. When young gods are born some are paired with other gods. Some like me get assigned a mortal that will be given divine powers to be our spouses"
"And I'm the president of lala land" Callie scoffed
"I am telling the truth" Ben frowned
"So wait you're a god and what you came here to whisk me away so I can marry you or something"
"Well you have an option. Stay here and be mortal or come with me"
"This is ridiculous" Callie rolled her eyes "why are we even giving this man the time of day"
Ben rubbed his face and lifted Callie up using his powers.
"Because what I am saying is true"
"Wait put her down" Miranda hit him
"This is sort of fun" Callie admitted flipping in the air
"I am demonstrating only a fraction of my power" He lowered her "You have them too"
"I don't know who or what you are but I am not anything like you" She shook her head
Ben sighed and randomly kissed her. It was just a quick peck on her lips. But Miranda's breath was taken away as a surge of electricity went through her body.
"What the hell" She pushed him away and sent him flying into the air but he stopped himself from hitting anything.
"What was that" Callie looked at her
"Your powers" Ben floated back down "I told you"
"No this is a dream I am dreaming" She laughed
"When you were a child. An elder god came down and gave you the kiss of divinity on your forehead. I just activated it" Ben smiled
"That didn't happen" She shook her head
This was harder than Ben thought. He closed his eyes and looked through Miranda's memories.
"What's he doing" Callie asked
"I'm not sure" Miranda replied " are we high"
"I'm not sure" Callie shook her head "this could be a very bad trip"
"Maybe we both were drugged" Miranda suggested
"Or something bad happened in the hospital and we suffered some head trauma"
"There" Ben smiled. He snapped his finger and suddenly they were no longer in the closet they were in Miranda's childhood bedroom.
"You seeing this" Callie whispered
"Omg" Miranda looked at her younger self sleeping in bed
"Watch" Ben pointed
"She is perfect" one of the elders smiled
"Look at her. She even sleeps divinely" Another one smiled
"I anoint you a chosen one" The elder kissed her on her forehead leaving a glowing kiss that slowly faded away
"It is sealed" They all nodded and disappeared from the room
"See" Ben looked at Miranda. You are my chosen one" He waved his hand and they were back in the closet.
"What was that" Callie looked at Ben
"A memory of hers"
"Maybe he is telling the truth" Callie looked at Miranda
"And if he is. What am I supposed to do just love him" She asked
"I mean I don't know" Callie shrugged
"If I may" He approached Miranda again
"You going to kiss me again" She asked
"No" He reached his hand out and she took it. They once again were transported from the closet.
"Where are we" She asked opening her eyes
"The in between" Ben smiled and waved his hand "Beyond us is our life if you come with me. Back there is your life if you stay"
"If I go what happens" Miranda asked
"You will be erased from everyone's memory" He sighed "including your parents" he knew she wasn't going to like that.
"Wait I just stopped existing"
"You will never have existed to them at all" He nodded "You will then be granted access to the godly realm and your full power potential will be unlocked"
"So Miranda Bailey will be completely gone from this world never to have existed"
"I'm afraid so"
"And if I decide I want to stay what happens to you" She asked
"I can chose to stay with you or I can chose to go back without you"
"What happens if you go without me"
"I will just keep doing what I have been I suppose" He shrugged "watching you from my realm"
"You watch me"
"I do. I wanted to know everything about you so I watched you. From the time we were children to now"
"I can't just give up my life to be with you Benjamin"
Just then a little boy and a little girl appeared
"Who are they" She asked
"Our kids" Ben smiled
"Benjamin" She looked at him "using your powers or whatever to materialize kids to manipulate me is not fair"
"No tricks. I am just showing you the life that awaits you" He raised his hands
"I tried to get pregnant. I can't" She sighed
"Because Tucker is not me" Ben looked at her "You are my chosen one"
"So only you can get me pregnant" She looked at him
He nodded "Our pairing is sealed by the gods. Which means you may only bear my children. Unless you decide to become a forever mortal"
"I spent all those years with him and I had you waiting for me along" She shook her head in disbelief
"That mere mortal did not understand who he had. But I do. Miranda you are better than this realm. I understand you have your parents and your friends and surgery. But what I'm offering is the life of a goddess"
"If you decide to come with me. Do you get stripped of your godly powers"
"I will be mortal with you" He nodded hoping that wasn't the option he would have to take but now that he was here with Miranda he didn't want to spend a moment away from her.
"I don't want you to do that. She looked at the kids. She hadn't imagined being a mom. Once it didn't happen for her and Tucker she just assumed it would never happen. Now here is Benjamin showing her that if she goes with him. It will happen. She had so many thoughts going through her mind.
"Be at peace" Ben whispered rubbing her temples "I understand this is a lot"
"Benjamin I want to be with you" She whispered
"Really" He was surprised
"I feel like I need to go with you and I can't resist the call" She nodded
"Miranda" He held her hands "You will be leaving behind everyone and everything. Are you sure"
"I am sure" She nodded "I am your chosen one. I was handpicked for you. You came here for me. You watched over me because you were so excited to be with me. That's more than I can say about someone I spent a good chunk of my life with. I have to go with you. This is my destiny"
"He certainly did not deserve you my beloved" Ben brought her hands to his mouth and lightly kissed them "I am sorry you had experience him. I wanted to jump down and pull you out but I had to do things according to the plan. I had to wait until the elders said it was time"
"So what if I was still married" She asked
"To hell with him" Ben chuckled
"I might have to agree with you there" Miranda laughed
"So we're doing this" He asked
"We are" She nodded
"May I kiss you" He asked
"You may" She anticipated the feel of his lips on hers again.
As he leaned in closer to her, his heart was pounding and his palms were sweaty. He had been waiting for this moment for what seemed like forever, but now that it was here, he couldn't shake off his nerves. The woman he watched from a cloud was now here in front of him.
She looked up at him with those sparkling eyes, her lips slightly parted in anticipation. He could tell she was just as nervous as he was. He just showed up and dropped a bombshell on her and yet she agreed to give up her entire life for him. Be wiped completely off the face of the earth. Never to have existed in the minds of her family and friends.
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing thoughts. Their faces were just inches apart now, and he could feel her warm breath on his skin. He could see her lips trembling, and he knew his were doing the same. Here he was a literal god and he was nervous about kissing.
He tilted his head slightly and closed the remaining distance between them, their lips meeting in a hesitant and uncertain kiss. It was soft and gentle, as if they were both afraid to fully commit to this moment.
But as they continued to explore each other's lips tentatively, the hesitation melted away. The kiss became more passionate and urgent. Miranda felt that electric feeling again this time more powerful. They rose up from the ground and their clothes changed to white and golden robes. Her hair speckled with bits of gold. They found themselves drifting back to the ground and their feet touched down in the closet again.
And as they finally pulled away, gasping for air, They both knew that this hesitant first kiss was just the beginning of something special between them
"Wow" Callie looked at them
"Callie" Miranda sighed looking at her
"What's this" She pointed to her
"I am going with him"
"So you're going to be a goddess now" Callie asked
"She already is. She has the energy coursing through her body right now" Ben smiled
"By agreeing to go with him I will be erased from here" Miranda said "you won't remember my existence and neither will anyone else"
"What" Callie couldn't believe what she was hearing "you'll just never exist to us"
"Yes" Ben nodded
"This is goodbye" Callie sighed looked at her friend "will you forget us"
"No" Ben shook his head "she can check in whenever she wants the same way I checked on her"
"I promise to check on you" Miranda hugged her "and everyone else"
"I know I am not going to remember you ever existed but right now I'll miss you" She sighed
"Put your hand on her head. She can see the life you will live. It may give her some comfort" Ben smiled at Miranda
She nodded and placed her hand on Callie's head. Scenes of Ben and Miranda's life flashed in her head. She saw them happily walking amongst their realm together lovingly looking at each other. She saw their wedding. She saw the birth of their first child and then she saw as he grew. She saw the birth of their second child. She saw as the family spent time together and trained their kids to use their powers. She was glad to see her dear friend so happy. Miranda backed away and Callie wiped away some tears.
"Good luck" She hugged her
"Good luck to you too" She gave her a squeeze and took Ben's hand.
"Can we walk through the hospital one last time" She asked
He nodded and with a snap of his fingers they were gone.
Callie looked around and couldn't remember why she was in this closet. She figured she walked in here to get something and just forgot.
"Must not have been important"
She shrugged and walked back out.
