FAST FORWARD A COUPLE MONTHS
I was called into a meeting with Genji and some of the Overwatch heroes, Winston and Sojourn closed the door behind him, getting to the point, "We got a mission, since you all are staying here, and the Helicarrier is almost rebuilt, we need a favor, there is an AI being used to defend an American nuclear submarine, recently, the submarine was taken down, we have reason to believe that the AI, which calls itself "Trinity", is sentient and a threat, one of it's main abilities is to corrupt nearby technology and even Omnics, another ability is being able to alter any information present on the cloud/internet, therefore, any non-human may not go on this mission, world powers are engaging in warfare with each other to gain control of this AI, and use it to pretty much take over the world, your job? Purge it, Countries cannot handle such powers, in fact, no human should be, I am requesting a taskforce of some of our best operatives, DLA and Overwatch, to head this operation to Purge Trinity" Genji nodded, "Phoenix,Strider and Striker team, you are assigned, unfortunately, I can't come, since my life support relies on technology, Phoenix 1, your in command, take care of em well" Winston cleared his throat "ON overwatch, we will assign Mcree,Ana and Lucio plus 3 Overwatch militant units, Helicarrier Odin will now be used by this new task force, called Red Team 161, now, pack your stuff up, this may be the endgame, no country's army is allied, whoever you see before yourselves is your allies, if you take this mission, you can;t go back"
We all nodded "I'm in" Striker 5 said, soon, everyone agreed. After gathering up all my stuff and packing away all my stuff, "Hello Zenyatta, I will be leaving for a very big mission, it does put Omnics at risk, in fact, it has the possibility to manifest in Omnics, watch yourself out there" "Thank you, I will" I shook hands with Zenyatta, and left, heading to the loading dock to embark on Odin, I grabbed my rifle, and strapped it on my chest, Climbing up the ladder to the deck, drones swarmed around me, I motioned to Striker team, "Come on men, move it or lose it" Striker 2, "Jaeger" was one of the homies, the boys, and one of my best friends, "Hey, Kenji, what's up?" "Nothing much, I'm just nervous about this mission" "Well, we got our first order, Tokyo, Omnics have forced civvies into lockdown, the JSDF is trying to fight them, but most of their tech is getting corrupted by Trinity, we are booting off all our online services, Trinity cannot tune into Radio, same with Odin, we have made out own private network.
Over the speaker, Genji yelled over the intercom "HELICARRIER ODIN TAKING OFF IN 2 MINUTES" I jogged to the entrance ramp and the leftover Overwatch members were there "Godspeed Kenji, lead them good, lead them well" Winston said, I shook his hand, and approached Angela "Good luck Kenji, I believe in you, we all do" I shook her hand, Genji walked up "Well, this is where the whole successor thing settles in, I am handing over the Mantle of The Demon Lord to you Kenji, you have learned well, I am proud of you, so this is how it feels when a father sees his kid become successful in life" Angela elbowed him "Let me just finish this up, yeah? Anyways, yeah, I will be retiring now." I teared up, I never got this feeling, like someone who was there since the beginning and was seeing me grow up and become a man, like a father. I hugged him, He hugged back, I wiped off all my tears, and I approached Kiriko "So, I will be back, I'll miss you Kiriko, But it's fine, I'll call you every night." "I hope so, Don't die out there, just remember our deal, Here died an idiot, I love you" "Don't worry, It's not like I'll get killed or anything" "you better not!"
Our conversation got interrupted by "ODIN TAKING OFF IN 30 SECONDS" "Oh shit!" I ran to the bay "Don't worry everyone! You'll see me, either in a hearse or covered in Champagne!" The door shut. I Nodded to some technicians working on our experimental XFA-33 Jets, I walked up the stairs to the cockpit, "How far are we from tokyo?" "quite a bit boss, you can go to sleep"
I then trudged to my bedroom, and collapsed, falling into a deep slumber.
[BEEP BEEP BEEP DAMAGE! DAMAGE! BEEP BEEP BEEP! "COME ON! MOVE! MOVE! THE YANKS ARE ON US!"] I gasped awake to absolute chaos. Jaeger was banging on my door, I grabbed a pistol and my gear, and sprinted alongside Jaeger "Boss, the United States Air Force have intercepted us, they are hostile, I say again, they are hostile!" "Got it!" I slid down a railing and into the hangar, I grabbed a helmet and Jumped into the XFA-33. I slid into the seat, tapping the screens and grabbed the yoke, after flipping some switches, I taxid out to the runway, The catapult attached and I Signaled to the ground crew, The jet jumped forward and I pulled back on the stick, And I locked onto an F-35 Lighting II, I got a tone, and fired off a AIM 54 Phoenix, smashing into the tail, it was still flying, and fired off some gun rounds, penetrating the cockpit, killing the pilot, the jet veered off, flying into an F-22 Raptor flying by, exploding. I exhaled as I checked the radar, AWACS squawked "All targets down, RTB" "Phoenix 1, RTB" How did they find us? We were in stealth mode. As soon as I touch down, I hop out of the jet. It rained quite a bit, so I almost slipped. The Phoenix team jogged out, "Boss, what the hell was that?" "they were some Stray american bandits" "Americans?" "Yeah, remember, we have no allies, we are here to rescue civilians, not be diplomats." "got it...how far is Tokyo?" I tapped my screen on my wrist, "About an hour, get everyone up, arm up, and fuel up choppers and Jets" "Got it" I took an elevator, Jaeger was waiting, "Hey man, what's up?" "Nothing much, just kinda a bit burnt out, I'm gonna talk to Kiriko and the others" "I gotcha, here, have some JetFuel, it's an energy drink, not actual jet fuel" Jaeger handed me an orange can, with JETFUEL written on the side, I cracked it open, and took a sip, I felt energy returning to my body, I pulled out my holo-tablet, and tapped on Kiriko's icon, calling her, I stepped outside, it was still raining, so I stepped under cover, Fighter jets streaked overhead, Overwatch teams were walking around, holding their weapons and getting ready to infil into Tokyo, Kiriko picked up the call "Kenji, Do you know what time it is?It's 3:00 in the morning here! Anyways, what's up?" "Nothing much, we're about to arrive in Tokyo, I might stop by at Kanezaka for the Fox Festival" "Oh, say hi to my mom for me then, She might lose her mind if she doesn't hear from me" "got it, so how are you holding up? Are you eating well?" "Yeah, I do miss your Ramen, but Genji was able to sorta replicate them" "That's great to hear! Well, I gotta get ready for dropping into Tokyo and saving lives, I'll record everything ""'Kay, Love you ""Love you too' ' I cut the call and walked past Mcree "Hey, Kenji is that right? You're the boss, correct?" "Yeah" "Us Overwatch people are a bit on edge about the whole Trinity crisis, and a lot of us have been having a bad time, so can you DLA men take this mission? Don't worry, we'll join later, or provide Support." "It's all good" He tipped his big cowboy hat and walked away, Lucio skates down the hallway and fist-bumps everyone along the way, I nodded towards them, there was 15 minutes until we land, around me, soldiers getting ready to put aside their origins to save innocents, a helicopter lands and after quadruple checking my gear, loaded up inside the chopper, the darkness of the night quickly enveloping the helicopter, only lights from the control panel giving off some feeling of comfort, I hold my rifle closer to my chest, the rest of phoenix team stepped into the chopper, "Boss, I think I'm scared" Phoenix 4 whispered to me, "Hey, It's okay, we'll be fine, as long as we don't alert the Omnics, and remember who we are" "You know what? You're right!" "That's what I wanna hear" I leaned against the side of the helicopter's interior, gazing up to the sky, rain still hammered the windshield of the helicopter, and as the rotors begin to spin, the blades slam down the water droplets, creating an almost surreal experience, as if everything went quiet and all that was left was the the rain, I glanced down to see the afterglow of Tokyo below us, I honestly never seen tokyo in this light, I lived in the western part of Osaka, near the bay, before my mom died, my family used to go with my best friend Ito's family to Tokyo, it was fun,we enjoyed going on trains and visiting Universal attractions, then my dad joined the Yakuza, everyday when he comes back, he comes back with more tattoos or more expletives to shout at us kids, Mom would try to stop him, but he would hit her, I stood up to him once: FLASHBACK: WARNING KID GETS STABBED, IF YOU ARE TRIGGERED, SKIP, IT'S NOTHING IMPORTANT, JUST KENJI RECALLING HIS CHILDHOOD

Mom screamed, but at this point, I was filled with pure rage, I charged at Dad, he quickly let go of mom and tried to stab at me, but when the cold metal pierced through my skin, I felt nothing, and tackled my father down, I punched and kicked at him until my younger siblings grabbed and pulled me off of him, he was a bloody mess, broken nose and a few teeth broken, Mom stood up "come on everyone, we got a couple of minutes until he wakes up, let's leave, I'll get the money, Kenji, you grab all our clothes and anything we might need, everyone else, gather food and such" I got on it , picked up everything and met mom outside in the car, after everyone settled in, Mom floored it and made our way to the port, "we got a boat waiting for us and we'll try to go to Toky-" "MOM! WATCH OUT!!" I screamed, as a car full sent it into the Driver's side, we spun out and I fell out of the car. I rolled to a stop as I watched the car drift and crash through the pier, barrelling through the shops and flying into the water, "MOM! Guys!" I ran to the wreckage, it was underwater, and nobody was getting out, I jumped in, against the panicked yells of some bystanders, I swam down, hoping to save them, but there was nothing there left to save, my mom was obviously dead because of the odd angle of her neck, my brother had his head bashed into the dashboard, the blood was still fresh and the dent was corresponding to the spot on his forehead, my sister's head was pierced by the bumper piece of the car that collided with us, I swum up, desperately needing air, I climbed out of the water as Emergency responders rushed to me, I collapsed and let out a yell, and started crying

I jolted awake as I realized we were in the air, "boss? Boss? BOSS!" "Yeah?" Jaeger handed me another can of JetFuel, I chugged down the can, and dropped it out the chopper,I plopped down my night vision goggles, and we hovered about the Infil zone, Striker 2 and 5 set up ropes, I slid down the rope and poised myself behind a door, everyone walked behind me, Strider team gets their snipers ready, and strider 3 and 4 sent out portable Javelin drones, missiles and guns, and if all else fails, kamikaze, I slowly opened the door, and cleared the stairwell, I knocked on an apartment door, I took off my mask and rang the doorbell, a man with a baseball bat opened the door, "Hello? How can I help you? Do you know what's going on? What's with the military dudes?" "We are with the DLA, we are here to get you outta here, this place is no longer safe, and we are here to stop civilian casualties" "Oh thank you! Let me get my family together!" "Alright, meet us at the roof, we got choppers in the air and we will get you all out as soon as possible" We did this, and got them out, soon enough, people were lining up, and the infected Omnics haven't realized yet, on our last building, a patrol of Infected were blocking the path to the apartment complex, I waited as the patrol kicked down a door, and a woman screamed "Phoenix 1, going in, Jaeger, with me" I crouched and pointed my rifle at the breaching Omnic's head, I held my breath and fired off 3 rounds, Jaeger ran beside me, as the first Omnic dropped, Jaeger pulled out his blade, the Omnics, who were turning, got sliced in half, I fired into the crowd, and as an Omnic tries to grab me, I grabbed my first Kodachi, and beheaded the Omnic, the metal body banged to the floor,as 2 ran at me, I summoned my Phoenix and lit them on fire, before throwing my kodachis at them, sticking through the Omnic's head.I pulled them out, and turned to the apartment door, "Kenji! Hurry up and let's get outta here! There are more coming!" "Let me get these last Civvies!" I ran in, took off my mask and asked "Anyone here?" I heard Sobbing, it sounded like a child, I walked slowly, making sure not to scare the child, I peered past a corner, and there it was, a child was crying, over their dead parents and siblings bodies, "Oh my god" I slowly walked over to the kid, and touched their shoulder, "hey kid, are you okay?" "No, my pawents awen't waking up! Neithew awe my bwothews!" "Hey, look at me" I pulled the kids face towards me own, he looked like he was about 4 or 5, "I'm sorry to say this, your parents aren't coming back, the same thing happened to my parents, let's get out of here, It's not safe, let me help you pack up" "Owkay Mr. Wioku" "how do you know my last name?" YOU ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME! GET THE LAST CIVILIAN OUTTA HERE!!" I heard more banging coming from the far side of the apartment, "Kid, we got to go, quickly pick up" "Ok!" The kid grabbed a stuffed bear, and we hurried out, Jaeger followed, "where are the parents?" "They got wasted" "oh" I had an idea, "Hey kid, hang on tight, real tight, you see these straps? Hold on super tight and don't look down ""Ok" I reached the 3rd switchback, and jumped off the building, "What're you doing?!" "Don't worry Jaeger! GO! GO ! GO!" I grappled around the building, gaining height, and then activated the wingsuit, drafting up, I softly landed on the Exfil point, the helicopter was waiting, "Go kid, there might be someone you know in there" The kid ran in, I drew my rifle and waited for Jaeger, he came, he had a lot of scratch marks and a broken rifle, "Get In! Quick!" I pulled him in and signaled to close the door, we reached Odin and the people gushed out, being led to set up camp in the aircraft hanger. Mcree jogged up, "Kenji! How did it go?" "It went well, DLA will be sitting out the next one" "Okay" "I will be going to Kanezaka for a week, Jaeger will take over" "Got it" I walked down to the hanger, people clamored and kids ran around, I asked for a megaphone and the overwatch member on the stairs handed it to me "Hello Citizens of Tokyo, I am Commander Kenji Rioku of the DLA, I would like to thank you for your cooperation with our evacuation, aside from a few casualties, this operation remains a success, we will be dropping you off in New Delhi, India, where I have contacted Government officials about the arrival of Japanese Refugees, please, bare with them, they will have translators and such, so there is no need to worry" there was silence "Any questions?" One hand immediately shot up "are you japanese? If so, where in Japan?" "I am in fact, Japanese, I'm from Western Osaka" "Okay" I left, and lied down on my bed, I opened up my holopad, and saw that there were 3 missed calls, 2 from Kiriko, 1 from Genji, I called Genji, There was a bit of a wait before Angela Picked up "Oh, hey Angela, how are you?" "I'm doing well, how about you?" "Doing great, also, why did Genji call, did anything happen?" "Oh, he wanted to check up on you, see how being commander would be, also you're on the news" "Wait, the news," I turned on the TV, "New Commander of the DLA mercilessly murdered family in mass kidnapping" "What the Fuck" Genji popped in "Kenji, what the hell is this?!, You Killed an entire fucking family?!" "There's no way you are actually believing it" "I Am! The pictures are right there!" "The Omnics killed them! I saved the last kid!" "The Evidence is right there!, face it! You are a killer! I was almost in tears, I tapped on Kiriko's missed call, hope it's better, Kiriko picked up immediately "I have no words, knowing your childhood, I know you would never do something like that, but I guess, terrible people are great at hiding things, I don't think I can be in a relationship with something like you, I, am repulsed by your actions, killing a family, kidnapping people, goodbye, I never want to see you, hear you, or be associated with you" she hung up, and I was blocked, I fell back into my bed, there was knocking on the door, "Kenji? Dude, you gotta see this" I got a call from Zenyatta, shit. "Kenji, am hearing about how you have killed a family and kidnapped hundreds, I am disappointed, my students would never do something like this, but sometimes power can get to people's heads, and I dis-" I threw the holopad at the door, shattering the holopad, I cried, hard, I had lost everyone I cared about,Kiriko, Genji, Zenyatta, possibly the entirety of Overwatch, I heard rumbling as the Helicarrier was being attacked, but I didn't care, I am Public enemy number 1, I'll probably be one the most wanted list, I am just imagining it (Queue Little Dark Age by MGMT Chorus part slowed) "Kenji Rioku, wanted dead or vaporized, reward, 10,000,000,000 credits", but, if I do die, I'm not going quietly, Trinity destroyed my reputation, my relationships, possibly my livelihood, this american sub was downed near China, so now, that's where I go, bargain with the AI to tell the truth, and maybe live, maybe. I stepped out, battle armor ready, Striker 3 ran up "Did you actually kill a family?" "Check my bodycam, release it to the public, set a course for the south china sea, AND WHO THE FUCK IS ATTACKING US?!" "Got it, Got it, and it's the JSDF's Omnics" "Release Proteus" "Sir that's a prototy-" "I DON'T FUCKING CARE, I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH EVERYONE I CARED ABOUT TELLING ME THAT I WAS REPULSIVE PIECE OF SHIT, I HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE, If you feel like I am leading you to an early grave, please, tell everyone, if they feel that way, they can quit, also, escort overwatch off the carrier" "Got it, and I'm sorry for your loss" I ran into the hangar, People were screaming as Japanese Omnics board the ship and execute the refugees, I was fired up, and fired at the omnics, they turned to me, and started firing, I was hit, once, twice, thrice, I kept going, until I heard, "That's One Less Loose End" Mcree turned me around, and shot me in the chest, I fell down the stairs, as my body goes limp, I felt Odin tip, plummeting, down, I reminisced on the good days, and remembered the bad, knowing that everyone saw me as a monster, the Odin crashed, barreling through the forests below, breaking into pieces and catching fire, Mcree got 2 more shots off me, and Ana shot me, with the AW-50 that Genji gave her, right in the chest, I was dead anyways, I pulled out a small remote, "A captain always goes down with his ship" and clicked it, explosions erupt around me as I smile to myself, this is the end, maybe Hell will be cozy.
