After lunch it was time for the mehendi ceremony and i got ready and went down to the venue. The mehendi was also happening in the lawn but the decorations were different.
By the time I had gotten to the venue the mehendi artists were already there and were setting up for the event. I went near the parents who were discussing something near the bar

It's already 4:30 and the mehendi hasn't started yet. Teri mehendi Khatam hone tak it will be around 5:30-6:00 and sukhne main aur do teen ghante lagenge toh it'll be dinnertime kaise khayegi tu she said.. all worried
And before I could answer Aryan Interupted saying
Arey why fear when jiju is here yaar mumma..He will feed her dont worry he said laughing
Hogaya mazak I said elbowing his chest
Maar kyun rahi yaar.. mumma dheko yaar isse he said complaining
Mumma dheko yaar isse I said mocking him and laughing
Can both of you shut up please.. yaha phe itna saara kaam hain aur tum dono mazak karrahe ho she said in a stern voice
Teja jaake unke paas bhet my mom said in a no nonsense tone. I just silently obeyed her while she pulled my brother and went away
My mehendi was started and it was almost an hour but i still couldn't see him anywhere. Not like i cared about it but isn't he supposed to be there in his own wedding rituals.
We haven't spoken since the afternoon. Neither did he try nor did I. I mean this is what he wanted he shouldn't have a problem with it should he? I was thinking when his laugh echoed through the hall. For the first time I heard him laugh.
I looked up to see him coming towards me laughing with rohan and vidhi. This is where vidhi was. I was searching for her everywhere and here she was with him.
Vidhi I called out when all the three of them turned their faces towards me. Our eyes locked for a second before I looked away
Idhar aana ek minute I said
She marched towards me smiling
Kitni paayri lagrahi hain tu she said getting a little emotional.
Well I have to appreciate her. She has been with me through all my ups and downs. She knows me through and not once has she judged me based on that. It is very difficult to find genuine people in our lives who stay forever but i am very lucky that i found her. She has been my sole place for years and she has handled me more than my own family. She has handled me when I got drunk for the time,when I had my first breakup or even when I first started my dance classes. Mainly she has handled all the unnecessary and stupid tantrums I throw but she has never called it unnecessary or stupid. I just love her. Like LOVE her.
Why did you call me? She asked breaking my thoughts
Tu mehendi nahi lagyaegi? I asked
Ofcourse lagwaugi she said.. Tera hojanedo pehele she said
Aap yaha aayi ma'am mein aapke haaton mein lagadeti hu one of the ladies said
Okay she said shrugging her shoulders and sat there to get her mehendi also done

I think it was an hour or so since the event had started and i was still my room because I had some important work.. I was completing the work when I heard a loud bang on the door
Come in i said
Kya Come in i heard someone who sounded like rohan say angrily
What happened? I said looking up to rohan who was very furious
Because of you i got scoldings by aunty he said dramatically sitting on the bed
Why did mumma scold you? I asked confused
Do you know your to-be wife's mehendi is going on outside he said schoked
Ofcourse I know i said
Then what are you doing here janaab you have to be there he said
I had some work so I was completing it i said casually
So said.. company ka CEO hoke bhi itna kaam hain karneko I heard some girl say sarcastically while entering the room. I turned my head and saw vidhi standing there with a dead serious look on her face
Why are both of you so serious? I asked like i didn't know
Karan I swear to go if you don't close that laptop in another 2 seconds I am going to throw it out from here vidhi warned me
Okay okay man dont get violent now I said packing the things up
Now chalo fast rohan said pushing me out of the door.
We reached the lawn and i saw tejasswi sitting there looking bored while two people where applying mehendi on her hands. Her hair was tied in a bun with two stands falling on her face.
She called vidhi for her to apply her mehendi as well and vidhi also sat down.
It was almost 6:00 and Tejasswi's mehendi was almost done. I wasn't staring at her like one creep but i had my eyes on her.
I turned to look at what was happening when I could sense tejasswi was searching for someone
I excised myself from the bar and went towards her. I stood behind her and whispered
You searching for someone? I asked
She flinched for a second and then calmed down.
Uh- nothing she said avoiding eye contact
Are you hungry? I asked looking at her
She looked at me shocked and asked how did you know?
I guessed? I said chuckling.
Let me bring you some thing I said and went towards the food counters. They were serving bread pakodas and chai and i knew she loved chai so I took both of them and went to her.
I could see her smile which faded away as soon as her eyes came in contact with me. Honestly It hurted me but i was in no place to say anything so I acted like i didn't see that and went towards her
Here I said forwarding the plate near to her
Seriously? She said looking at me
What? I asked confused
How am i supposed to eat this now? She asked
Why? Don't you like bread pakodas I asked her in shock because I really loved them
(Don't mind guys... I was really craving bread pakodas at that time)
Are you seriously dumb or you behave like that? How I am supposed to eat with mehendi on my hand? She said giving me an unbelievable expression
Oh right I said looking at her habds which were full of wet mehendi
Aa I heard her say as she opened her mouth for me to feed her. I took a pakoda and she bit into it.
Oh god that tastes sooo good she said in a satisfied tone
A smiled creeped onto my lips looking her eat so cutely.
