Tony: "Absolutely not!" [Mera and Tony are talking in an empty room]
Mera: "Dad, please!-" [He walks past her]
Tony: "This is not up for discussion!" [Mera follows after him.]
Mera: "Ugh! Dad!-"
Tony: "No! I promised your mother, I'd take care of you"
Mera: "Dad, please!" [She gets a hold of his hand.] "I promise, I'll be careful, I want to help!" [He turns to look at her.]
Tony: "I know, Mera. But it's not safe.-"
Mera: "Vulko trained me!-"
Tony: "And promised to keep you safe out of harm." [They both stopped in place.] "If he knew you were involved in something like this, I would get in trouble. You'd get in more trouble."
Mera: "Then I'll be careful!" [Tony shut up] "I promise, please Dad." [Mera got a hold of both of his hands.] "Dad, please. I'm not a little girl anymore." [He sighs.]
Tony: "I know,"[He puts a hand on his cheek, making her lean in.] "That's what I hate about time. It passes by too quickly." [She smiles.] "Fine, let's do this." [Mera smiles]
[The scene cuts to Thor in the field, who lifts his Mjolnir to the skies. Cap straps his shield onto his back. Barton puts on his quiver. Natasha powers up her Widow's Bite. Her bracelets light up. Tony is in a workshop making repairs to his helmet. Agents walk by in the background. The helmet lights up. Thor summons a bolt of lightning. The field grows dark, with clouds. His armour slowly begins to fly on. The scene cuts to Mera who was her eyes closed in the tank. She's stood on the very bottom as the water swirls around her against the glass, not touching her. She opens her eyes and they glow blue. Barton and Natasha walk side-by-side behind CaptainAmerica, who is leading them through the lower hangar bay, Mera joins Natasha with her trident. They're all ready to kick butt. Thor's armour finally flies on.]
[The group of four walks onto the jet.]
SE: "Hey, you guys aren't authorized tobe in here-"
CA: "Son, just don't," [Natasha and Mera both give each other a look as they sit down on their seats.
A fit of laughs broke out at his tone.
[Mera sat on the weapons control. While Clint and Natasha manoeuvred the ship.]
[The scene cuts to Fury holding Coulson's cards, overlooking the air deck.Hill walks up behind him.]
MH: "Sir,"
Fury: "Agent Hill."
MH: "Those cards, they were in Coulson'slocker, not in his jacket."
The Avengers sigh,
"Why am I not surprised," Tony muttered under his breath.
Fury: "They needed the push." [Hill looked at him. Just then He sees the quinjet and Iron Man take off towards the city.]
INTERCOM VOICE: "We've got an unauthorized departurefrom Bay Six."
Fury: "They found it. Get ourcommunications back up, whateveryou have to do. I want eyes oneverything."
MH: "Yes, sir."
[The scene cuts to Iron Man is flying toward the city, his suit is losingpower. He continues to make his way to Stark Tower.]
[The scene cuts to Selvig, who is still under the control of Loki, is ready toactivate the device he created with the Tesseract. Iron Manslowly reaches.]
Jarvis: "Sir, I turned off the arc reactor.The device is alreadyself-sustaining"
IM: "Shut it down, Dr. Selvig."
Selvig: "It's too late! She can't stop now.She wants to show us something! Anew universe."
IM: "OK." [Iron Man aims his repulsors at the device and fires, only for the Tesseract to deflect it, sending the energy outwards, making Selvig fall and Iron Man fly. The people in the city gasp and look up to see Iron Man who gets his balance back.]
Mera on Intercome: "Dad! The barrier is pure energy. It's unreachable."
IM: "Thanks for the heads up, sweetie.-" [He looks down and sees Loki standing there.] "Plan B."
[Inside the suit:]
JARVIS: "Sir, the Mark 7 is not yet ready for deployment."
Tony: "Then skip the spinning rims. We're on the clock."
[Iron Man lands on the centre of the machinery and slowly walks down as the suit deconstructs, watching Loki carefully as he does that. Inside the tower, Loki walks forward as Tony goes behind the bar.]
Loki: "Please tell me you're going to appeal to my humanity."
Tony: "Uh- Actually, I'm planning to threaten you."
Loki: "You should have left your armour on for that."
Tony: "Yeah, It's seen a bit of mileage, and you've got the glow stick of destiny." [Loki looks down at his sceptre] "Would you like a drink?" [Loki places the sceptre in his other hand.]
Some facepalm at Tony.
Loki: "Stalling me won't change anything."
Tony: "No, no. Threatening. No drink? Are you sure? I'm having one." [Loki walks towards the window.]
Loki: "The Chitauri are coming, nothing will change that." [He turns to look at Tony] "What have I to fear?"
Tony: "The Avengers." [Tony opens a bottle of his drink, before looking at Loki who is visibly confused.] "That's what we call ourselves. We're sort of like a team. "Earth's mightiest heroes" type of thing." [He pours his drink.]
Loki: "Yes, I've met them." [Tony laughs]
Tony: "Yeah. It takes us a while to get any traction, I'll give you that one. But let's do a head count, here. Your brother, the demiGod.-" [Loki turns away.] "a super soldier, a living legend who kind of lives up to the legend.-" [And as Tony talks, he quickly slips on a bracelet onto his wrist.] "A man with breathtaking anger-management issues, a couple of master assassins, and my royal daughter who is amazing at combat might I add, and you, big fella,-" [He pointed at him.] "-you've managed to piss off every single one of them."
Loki: "That was the plan."
Loki: "That was the plan." [Tony takes a sip.]
Tony: "Not a great plan." [He begins to walk towards Loki.] "When they come, and they will, they'll come for you."
Loki: "I have an army."
Tony: "We have a hulk."
Loki: "I thought the beast had wandered off."
Tony: "There is no throne. There is no version of this where you can come out on top. Maybe your army comes and maybe it's too much for us, but it's all on you. Because if we can't protect the Earth, you can be damn well sure we'll avenge it." [He takes another sip of his drink]
Clint whistles,
"Did not take you for the speech type, Tony."
[Loki walks over to Tony, pointing his sceptre.]
Loki: "How will your friends have time forme, when they're so busy fightingyou?" [Loki walks up to Tony and places the tip of the wandover his heart. It clinks against the arc reactor. He does it again] "This usually works."
Tony: "Well, performance issues. It's not uncommon. Do you have kids? My daughters actually-" [Loki grabs Tony by the throat and throws him across theroom.] "Jarvis, anytime now." [Tony gets up from the floor when Loki grabs him by the throat again.]
Loki: "You will all fall before me."
Tony: "Deploy!" [Loki lifts him] "Deploy!" [Loki then sends Tony crashing through the window, and plummeting towards the ground.]
Some gasp.
[Behind Loki, the Mark Seven suit goes rocketing past and after Tony, right after knocking Loki to the ground.]
[It catches up to him and, locking on to the bracelets, attaches to him and unfolds to a full suit. Tony manages to stop his fall moments before he hits the ground and flies back up to Loki at the window.]
IM: "And there's one other person you pissed off. His name was Phil."
[Loki lifts the sceptre towards Iron Man, but he uses his repulsor to blast him on the ground.]
[Meanwhile, the device has been all powered up and shoots a stream of blue energy towards the sky, which then opens into a portal where the Chitauri are seen flying through the portal. Inside the suit:]
Tony: "Right." [The holograms go red.] "Army." [He flies towards the portal. The Chitauri start firing at him for Iron Man to dodge. He continues to blow the Chitauri and then releases some mini-missiles towards them, blowing them up.]
[The citizens get out of their taxis and vehicles, looking to the sky. They run for their lives as the Chitauri come toward them. Blowing up cars, buildings and the streets. The Chitauri fire at the restaurant. WAITRESS and her coworkers are left outside, they duck and take cover from the shots. When they get the chance, they take off inside the café. They then look outside at the destruction caused by the aliens.]
[The scene cuts to Mera in the quinjet, her eyes closed as a small hum is heard. She opens them and they glow blue. She gets up.]
Natasha: "What are you doing?" [She watches as she gets her trident and presses a button opening the back.]
CA: "Are you crazy?!-"
Mera: "I mean, I am Tony Stark's daughter so-" [She shrugs] "Trust me, I need water. And the ocean is the closest source."
Natasha: "Go, I'll cover for you."
Mera: "Thanks Nat-" [She jumps out, diving headfirst into the water.]
[As soon as she was plummeted in the ocean she sank a little before her eyes glowed blue.]
[The scene cuts to Loki walking out on the pad, his Asgardian armour materialising as he looks out over the chaos below. Suddenly, Thor lands lower on the platform.]
Thor: "Loki!" [Loki turns towards Thor.] "Turn off the Tesseract, or I'll destroy it."
Loki: "You can't. There is no stopping it." [He points his sceptre towards Thor.] "There is only the war."
Thor: "So be it."
[Loki leaps at Thor and the two begin to fight, a blast from Loki's sceptre sending one of the letters of STARK falling to the ground.]
[Civilians are running for their lives, screaming. Several police cars show up. A police officers step out of their car where they look up at the Chitauri.]
[A jet is seen flying towards the city while Nat speaks over coms.]
Natasha: "Stark, we're on your headed northeast" [Natasha is displayed inside the suit of the holograms.]
Tony: "What? Did you stop for a drive-through?"
Some chuckle at Tony
Tony: "Swing up Park. I'm going to lay them out for you."
[Iron Man is seen flying past the Stark towers, the Chitauri following him, as Loki and Thor keep fighting. He flies around the building, and takes a sharp turn, causing one of the troops to crash.]
[Barton and Natasha are piloting the plane. They release the canon gun. Iron Man flies past them at high speed and they release continuous fire at the troop of Chitauri in front of them. They fly through the smoke and up to Stark Tower. Inside the Iron Man suit:]
JARVIS: "Sir, we have more incoming."
Tony: "Fine. Let's keep them occupied."
[The jet comes around a building, blasting the army who are firing at them. One of the wings is grazed by Chitauri gunfire.]
[The scene cuts back to Thor and Loki fighting each other.]
[In the jet, Natasha and Barton are seen coming around the roof where Thor and Loki are seen fighting.]
Clint: "Nat?"
Natasha: "I see him"
[Loki knocks Thor down onto the ground as the jet circles by. Loki points his sceptre towards the jet and fires one side of the jet. Making it go on fire. Thor then knocks Loki down with a grunt. Inside the jet, Cap holds onto the roof. Thor and Loki continue fighting as the jet starts to go down. The jet crashes onto the ground. Natasha and Barton take off their headsets as the raft opens. And leave.]
CA: "We got to get back up there."
[They rush towards the overpass, looking up at the Stark Tower. They freeze as people run past them, from the wormhole a huge worm-like warship that was alive, flying through the portal with more Chitauri coming through. The giant creature flies past them, crashing into things as it does so. The warriors jump onto the side of buildings and into thebuildings where they shoot civilians.]
CA: "Stark, are you seeing this?"
[Iron Man flies past.]
IM: "Seeing. Still working on the believing." [Inside the suit:] "Where's Banner? Has he shown up yet?"
CA: "Banner?"
IM: "Just keep me posted."
[Iron Man flies after the giant creature]
IM: "JARVIS, find me a soft spot."
[The scene cuts to Thor holding off Loki.]
Thor: "Look at this!" [Loki looks at the chaos, the building getting destroyed.] "Look around you!" [The scene cuts back to Thor.] "You think this madness will end with your rule?" [Loki looks back at him.]
Loki: "It's too late. It's too late to stop it."
Thor: "No. We can, together." [Loki pauses, then slips a knife into his hand and stabs Thor. He drops his hammer as he groans and falls.]
Everyone gasps at the sudden plot twist.
Loki: "Sentiment." [Thor gets back up and lifts Loki, before kicking him, making Loki crash through the window. Thor lifts him again before dropping him onto the ground. Loki himself off the edge of the building,]
Everyone stayed quiet
[Only for him to land on one of the flying Chitauri crafts. He flies off with a troop of Chitauri.]
[With Thor, he takes off the small knife and tosses it on the ground.]
[The scene cuts to Barton and Natasha crouched behind a taxi cab. Cap runsover.]
Clint: "We've got civilians still trapped up there."
[Loki flies over them on the flying crafts.]
CA: "Loki."
[There is chaos everywhere on the streets. Everyone ran for their life away from the explosions. The scene cuts to Cap.]
CA: "They're fish in a barrel down there." [Just then a familiar voice ran through the intercom.]
Mera: "Now, I understood THAT reference." [Everyone looked down below and found a huge tunnel of water flooding through the streets. Mera swims in the water, creating air bubbles large enough for civilians, as the water washes over them, they are encased in an air bubble, big enough for them. Mera jumped out before raising her hands, everything was glowing blue, as the water backed out through the way it came from. Mera stood there panting before shrugging at their looks.] "What?"
CA: "That was sort of taken care of,-" [He gets cut off when a blast goes past him. Natasha stands and fires both her guns at an incoming groupof Chitauri.]
Nat: "We got this. It's good. Go."
CA: "Do you think you can hold them off?"
Clint: "Captain," [He gets his arrows ready with his machinery whirring.] "it would be my genuine pleasure." [He takes his arrow out and starts shooting, hitting one alien in the head, the arrow quickly separates into more arrows, killing three Chitauri aliens. Cap leaves the other two fighting and jumps off an overpass, rolling onto a bus and into the street. Barton helps people off a bus as Natasha shoots her pistolsat Chitauri. He runs over to Natasha and begins releasingarrows as she shoots.]
Natasha: "Just like Budapest all over again!"
Clint: "You and I remember Budapest very differently."
[The scene cuts to Mera joining Cap rushing down the street.]
Mera: "You know, I was really tempted to flood this place-" [Cap looks at her and stops in place.] "But then I realised that's not what heroes do." [Cap raises his eyebrows] "-And by you giving me that look, I'll shut up and join Nat and Clint. See ya" [She runs off making Cap shake his head at himself.]
Cap: "Teenagers these days. Always up to no good."
[The scene cuts to Natasha shooting a Chitauri who was getting dangerously close, only for a trident to go through it and drop to the ground. And in place, Mera stood there. She smiled at Natasha.]
Mera: "Hi!" [Natasha shook her head.]
Nat: "You are going to be the death of me one day." [Mera shrugs.]
[Cap runs through the street towards a group of police shooting at Chitauri. He is running and jumping off cars. Cops are seen trying to shoot down the chitauri.]
Cop#1: "It's gonna be an hour before theyscramble the National Guard."
Cop#2: "National Guard?" [They duck at the oncoming blast.] "Does the army know what's happening here?"
Cop#1: "Do we?"
[Cap jumps down on the car in front of them and gestures towards the buildings as he speaks.]
CA: "You need men in these buildings. There are people inside and they can be running right into the line of fire. You take them to the basement or through the subway, you keep them off the streets. I need a perimeter as far back as 39th."
Cop#2: "Why the hell should I take orders from you?"
[A huge blast is seen behind them when two Chitauri land and start to attack Cap, he fights them off with his shield. The policemen stand there in shock. Before Cop#2 retreats and walks back towards his men.]
Cop#2: "I need men in those buildings, lead the people down and away from the streets!" [He talks into his radio.] "We're going to set up a perimeter down to 39th Street."
[The scene cuts to Iron Man flying past the huge Leviathan and firing a huge stream of ammunition at it making it turn to follow him and destroying and crumpling a building. People dodge the oncoming debris and run. Inside the Iron Man suit:]
IM: "Well, we got its attention." [He stops in mid-air before flying away.] "What the hell was step two?" [The large Levithian follows him.]
[Barton, Natasha and Mera are fighting warriors up close. Bartontrips one with his bow. He pulls an arrow and stabs it.Natasha is using her Widow's Bite on a warrior as she sitson his neck.Natasha picks up a Chitauri weapon and uses it to fightoff the warriors. Mera slices through all of them with her trident. One warrior tries to slice her head offand she slides, dodging it. She jumps to her feet and hitsit in the head with the sharp part of the weapon.Barton knocks over another warrior. He grabs an arrow andshoots behind himself, killing another warrior. He marchesover to another Chitauri and battles him. Meanwhile, Natashais taking on three warriors by herself. She shoots one, thenspins around and stabs one in the neck.Barton is tackled to the cement by a warrior. He groans andstabs one with an arrow, then throws the warrior to theground. Out of nowhere, another Chitauri attacks him andkicks him onto the trunk of a cab.Natasha stabs a warrior with the Chitauri weapon. She hitsthe other over the head. She spins to her knees, aims in onedirection, and fires. Another Chitauri charges, she spinsthe weapon in that direction and fires. She continuouslyfires as Barton fights more aliens in the background.Barton's head is slammed into the roof of a car. He is thenthrown to the ground by a warrior. He's tired, but hecontinues to fight.Natasha takes on two more Chitauri. They back her onto ataxi cab. They hit after her but she moves her head out ofthe way. She gets her footing and tries to hit them withthe weapon but a warrior grabs it and throws her feet intothe air. She lands on the car and screams in pain, breathingheavily. Barton shoots more warriors around them, they are becomingoverwhelmed but they keep on. Natasha regains her strength, and runs to the aid of Barton by firing at Chitauri as he slidesand shoots at Chitauri. Natasha and Barton are becomingsurrounded by Chitauri and Cap rejoins them -- hittingChitauri out of the way. Thor drops down from the tower andkills Chitauri with a bolt of lightning.]
CA: "What's the story upstairs?"
Thor: "The power surrounding the Cube is impenetrable."
[Tony is heard on coms as the two look up.]
IM: "Thor's right. We got to deal with these guys."
Natasha: "How do we do this?" [Natasha puts a comforting hand on Mera's shoulder as she regains her breath.]
CA: "As a team."
Thor: "I have unfinished business with Loki." [The scene cuts to Clint readying his arrows.]
Clint: "Yeah? Well, get in line."
CA: "Save it." [He walks towards them.] "Loki's going to keep this fight focused on us,-" [Barton walks past him.] "-and that's what we need. Without him, these things could run wild." [He turns towards the group as he continues to walk.] "We got Stark up top. He's going to need us to" [He's cut off when a motorcycle approaches them from behind.]
[Behind him, Banner is seen stopping and dismounting from the motorcycle.]
Banner: "So, this all seems horrible."
Natasha: "I've seen worse."
Banner: "Sorry."
Natasha: "No, we could use a little worse." [Mera puts a hand on her intercom.]
Mera: "Dad, we got him."
IM: "Banner?"
CA: "Just like you said."
[Inside the suit:]
Tony: "Then tell him to suit up. I'm bringing the party to you."
[Iron Man is seen flying around the corner and towards the group, followed by the huge giant creature. Thor gets a hold of his hammer]
Natasha: "I don't see how that's a party."
Mera: "I'm not even sure if you define that as a party."
A few people chuckle.
Iron Man draws the creature low and it skims the road. Banner turns and begins to walk away, towards the monster.]
CA: "Dr Banner." [He takes a few steps forward.] "Now might be a really good time for you to get angry." [Banner looks at Cap as he continues to walk towards the giant monster.]
A few eyes widen
Banner: "That's my secret, Captain." [He glances at the monster before stopping and looking at the group.] "I'm always angry" [Banner transforms into the Hulk and punches the creature, smashing it into the ground. Snarling and screaming as it does so]
Bloom had a small twinkle in her eye. That was awesome. Banner just scratched his head nervously.
IM: "Hold on!"
[Iron Man blasts a missile at the creature and it explodes. Barton quickly moves out of the way. Thor stands taking in the blast. Cap shields Natasha, as Nat drags Mera under her. The creature falls off the bridge. The Chitauri cry out, snarling at them. The camera does a 360 view. The Avengers stand in a circle, Hulk roars, Hawkeye knocks an arrow, Thor readies his hammer, Natasha loads her gun, and Captain America stands ready with his shield. Mera gets her trident ready.]
[Loki watches from above.]
Loki: "Send the rest."
[The portal and hundreds more giant creatures and Chitauri escape from it, flying through.]
Natasha: "Guys." [They look up.]
IM: "Call it, Captain."
CA: "All right, listen up." [Mera looks at him.] "Until we can close that portal our priority is containment. Barton-" [Clint looks at Cap.] "I want you on that roof. Eyes on everything. Call out patterns and strays." [Iron Man looks at him] "Stark you got the perimeter. Anything gets more than three blocks out, you turn it back or you turn it to ash." [Clint looks at Iron Man.]
Clint:" Can you give me a lift?"
Iron Man to Cap: "Right."
[He walks towards Barton.]
IM: "Better clench up, Legolas." [He walks past Mera.] "Be careful sweetie." [Mera nods at him before Iron Man grabs Barton and flies up off to the building] "Thor, you got to try and bottleneck that portal. Slow them down." [Thor nods at him.] "You got the lightning. Light the bastards up." [Thor swings his hammer before flying off.] "Mera," [She looks at him.] "I want you to stay with me and Natasha. We stay here on the ground. We keep the fighting here. And Hulk..." [He turns to him with a snarl. Cap points at him] "Smash."
[Hulk grins before leaping off, taking out a dozen Chitauri's on the buildings. He was grabbing them, smashing them, throwing them.]
[Hulk leaps across the air and slaps a flying craft out of the air]
[Thor is seen landing at to the top of the Chrysler building and summoning a bolt of lightning. He sends it shooting out towards the portal, taking out Chitauri and the giant creatures.]
[The scene cuts to Fury watching the news footage. When Hill approaches him]
Hill: "Sir, the Council is on." [Fury nods at her before swiping the footage.]
[Barton is seen on top of a building, firing relentlessly at the Chitauri.]
Clint: "Stark, you got a lot of strays sniffling your tail." [He shoots another arrow. Iron Man flies past a bunch of buildings. Inside the suit:]
Tony: "I'm just trying to keep them off the streets." [The scene cuts back to Clint]
Clint: "Well they can't bank worth a dam." [Clint fires his arrow at a flying carriage without looking. And it explodes. Inside the suit:]
Tony: "I will roger that."
[Iron Man flies past Hawkeye, who fires at another carriage The screen follows the arrow, flying in the air before it hits another carriage. Dissolving the bit it hit. Iron Man flies past the chaos, making the carriages smash into the buildings. Inside the suit:]
Tony: "Oh boy." [He flies through a tunnel and turns tightly at the end, sending the last few crafts crashing into a building. Inside the suit:]
Tony: "Nice call. What else you got?"
Clint: "Thor is taking on a squadron down on Sixth."
Tony: "And he didn't invite me."
[The giant creature is seen going near a building, almost crashing into it. Inside everyone screams and quickly gets out of the way, as Hulk is seen running and crashing through things before crashing through the window and landing on the creature. Pulling it away from the buildings.]
[Natasha is seen fighting another Chitauri when she is thrown into the car. The Chitauri is about to attack her with its weapon before something slashes through its chest. It falls to the ground. And in place, Mera was standing there. She smiled.]
Natasha: "Thanks." [Mera nods as Natasha gets up. Cap approaches them.]
Natasha: "Captain, none of this is going to mean a damn thing-" [The three look at the portal] "-if we don't close that portal."
Cap: "Our biggest guns couldn't touch it." [Mera looks at the portal thoughtfully.]
Mera: "Well, maybe it's not about guns." [Cap glances at both of them. Before he notices the Chitauri climbing up the bridge.]
Cap: "If you want to get up there, you'll need a ride."
Natasha: "I got a ride." [She throws down the weapon before walking further away from the two.] "I could use a boost, though." [Mera and Cap look up to see carriages flying past.]
Cap: "Are you sure about this?" [Cap gets his shield ready in front of him]
Natasha: "Yeah. It's gonna be fun."
[Natasha runs at Rogers, who uses his shield to boost her up. She grabs onto a passing Chitauri vehicle. Cap looks up as she flies off in the distance. Mera and Cap both look to their left and find more Chitauri.]
Cap: "Let's do this."
Mera: "Ready when you are,"
[Natasha climbs aboard the craft, pulls a dagger and stabs awarrior. She spins and kicks him off the craft. She makes her wayto the other one and uses him to control the vehicle.]
Natasha: "Turn, turn, turn! Ah!-"
[Two crafts come up on Natasha, firing at her. She swerves toavoid them. The crafts are blasted away by Iron Man, whofires away at a fleet behind him. Iron Man takes a turn,coming up on the overpass, where he knocks Chitauri aliensover and lands by Cap, who is fighting and kicking Chitauri. Mera just slices every Chitauri with Trident. Cap lifts his shield. Iron Man reflects a repulsor blast offthe shield, taking out the surrounding warriors. He thenflies up the side of a building, hitting more warriors.At the top of which Barton fires into the head of aChitauri. Two blasts are fired at him. He ducks and returns ashot by firing an arrow. The arrow hits the pilot of a craftwhich falls and gets hit by a Leviathan.]
[[On the giant creature is the Hulk who is fighting off more Chitauri. Thor lands on the same creature and takes on more Chitauri with Hulk. When Hulk breaks a piece of the creature's armour off, Thor uses Mjolnir to summon lightning and drive the metal into its head. The giant creature crashes into the ground, landing inside of a building.]
[Thor and Hulk dismount the creature and stand side by side, breathing heavily. Before Hulk punches Thor out of the shot.]
Bruce scratches his head as everyone laughs.
[Selvig is seen getting up, he looks around and gasps, seeing all the chaos around him]
[Cap is on the ground, holding off a Chitauri's weapon. He pushes the warrior off and onto sharp debris. As he stands, Clint speaks through coms.]
Clint: "Captain, the bank on 42nd past Madison. They've cornered a lot of civilians in there." [Mera and Cap both look at each other.]
Mera: "We're on it."
[In the bank, a crowd of civilians are surrounded by three armed Chitauri. One of them gets a device out and turns it on when Cap jumps through a window, followed by Mera and hit the Chitauri with his shield. The other two armed Chitauri start shooting at him when the two jump for cover. Mera kicks the table towards him making them fall. Cap and Mera start fighting the Chitauri as everyone watches and gasps as it falls over the railing.]
CA: "Everyone clear out!"
[He is then grabbed by a warrior, who he fights and breaksfree thanks to Mera pushing her trident into it. A grenade-like device goes off and it blasts Cap out awindow and onto a car after his mask is pulled back from hisface. He stands silently while police lead the civiliansfrom the building. Mera joins him.]
Mera: "Are you ok?" [Cap nods and regains his breath. Mera chuckles at him.]
Councilwoman: "Director Fury, the Council has made a decision." [The scene cuts to Fury talking with the World Security Council over his command centre.]
Fury: "I recognise the council has made a decision. But given that it's a stupid-ass decision, I have elected to ignore it."
CouncilMen: "Director, you're closer than any of our subs.-"
Fury: "That is the island of Manhattan, Councilman." [Hill stands there, listening intently.] "Until I'm certain my team can't hold it, I will not order a nuclear strike against a civilian population."
Councilmen: "If we don't hold them here, we lose everything."
Fury: "If I send that bird out, we already have." [He swipes the call, ending it.]
[Natasha on board a Chitauri craft. She is shot at frombehind and turns to see Loki, on another craft, followingbehind. She continues toward the building Barton is at.]
Natasha: "Oh, you."
[Natasha continues to drive towards the building where Barton is.]
Natasha: "Hawkeye!"
[Barton sees her coming in the distance.]
Clint: "Nat, what are you doing?"
Natasha: "Uh- A little help please?"
[Barton nocks an arrow, waiting for Natasha and Loki to comepast.]
[He releases the arrow only for Loki to catch the arrow inches from his face and looks first at it, then at Barton, smirking. The arrow explodes, sending Loki crashing onto the plat format the top of Stark Tower.]
[Natasha jumps off the craft. She flips in the air, landingon the roof. She rolls, sticking the landing. She flips herhair back. Loki looks up at Romanoff when Hulk leaps up, grabbing himand throwing him through the window of the penthouse.]
Loki: "Enough!" [He stops] "You are, all of you, beneath me! I am a God, you dull creature. And I will not be bullied by a-"
[Hulk grabs Loki by the feet and smashes him into the floor repeatedly, then throws him aside and walks away.]
Hulk: "Puny God."
Clint bursts out laughing.
[Loki gives out a small whimper in pain.]
[The scene cuts to Jade and Natasha walking towards the Tesseract. when-]
Selvig: "The sceptre..." [She kneels.]
Natasha: "Doctor,"
Selvig: "Loki's sceptre, the energy- theTesseract can't fight. You can'tprotect against yourself."
Natasha: "It's not your fault. You didn'tknow what you were doing."
Selvig: "Well, actually I think I did. Ibuilt in a safety to cut the powersource."
Natasha: "Loki's sceptre."
Selvig: "It may be able to close the portal. And I'm looking right at it."
[Selvig looks down to the platform below, where Loki'ssceptre lies dropped from when Hulk took him out.]
[Thor is aboard a craft, fighting Chitauri. The craft swerveswhen a Leviathan crashes through a building, followedclosely by Stark, who is shooting at it with lasers]
ARVIS: "Sir, we will lose power before we penetrate that shell."
[Iron Man pulls away from the giant creature. Inside the suit:]
Tony: "Jarvis, you ever heard the tale of Jonah?"
JARVIS: "I wouldn't consider him a role model."
[Iron Man's knee plates open, pushing out blades. He is heading directly toward the creature's mouth. He flies through it. Blowing up the creature's insides and out the tail end.]
Tecna twinkles her eyes.
[He crashes to the ground but gets to his feet, only to be shot down again by the Chitauri.]
[The scene cuts to Barton on top of the roof. Barton is attacked by the Chitauri on the rook. He reaches for an arrow, but his quiver is empty. He instead uses the bow to fight them off. Looking up at the sky and seeing hundreds of approaching flying crafts, he pulls a single arrow from the body of a Chitauri and changes its head with the push of a button on his bow. In slo-mo, The Chitauri fire and Barton leap off the building as it explodes, twisting in mid-air, then firing the arrow. Its head opens up into a grappling hook which attaches to the side of the building. Barton swings from the wire still attached to his bow and crashes through a window into a lower floor of the building. He groans in pain.]
[Hulk being attacked by Chitauri warriors. He throws them offand turns his attention to the sky, where dozens of craftsare flying over him, and roars. They all fire at once andHulk is encompassed in smoke and flame. He roars.]
[The scene cuts to a fighter jet slowly taking off in the Heli-carrier. As the councilwoman speaks]
CouncilWomen: "Director Fury is no longer in command. Override order 7-Alpha-1-1."
Pilot: "7-Alpha-1-1, confirmed. We're going for take off."
[The scene cuts to the bridge of the Heli-carrier. Every Agent is bustling about in a frenzy of panic. Hill notices something on her command centre.]
Hill: "Sir! We have a bird in motion." [Fury rushes out.] "Anyone on the deck, we have a rogue bird. We need to shut it down! Repeat, take off is not authorised."
[Fury runs onto the deck with a missile launcher and fires, taking the plane out. A second jet takes off and Fury lifts his gun but it is too far.]
[Fury gets inside and closes the door in, furious, before putting a hand on his ear com.]
Fury: "Stark, do you hear me? You have a missile headed straight for the city."
[Iron Man is on the ground]
IM: "How long?" [A Chitauri hits him, making him fall to the ground again. Inside the suit:]
Fury: "Three minutes. Max. The payload will wipe out mid-town." [Iron Man continues to fight, firing the Chitauri with his repulsors.]
Tony: "Jarvis, put everything we got into the thrusters."
JARVIS: "I just did."
[Iron Man blasts away from the Chitauri.]
[The fighter jet is seen flying towards the city. The jet fires the nuke towards the city and turns around.]
Pilot: "Package is sent." [The nuke flies towards the city] "Detonation in 2 minutes, 30 seconds, mark."
[In slo-mo, Cap and Thor catch their respective hammer and shields. Cap and Thor turn and fight off Chitauri warriors. Cap is shot in the ribs and drops to the ground, Thor sends a car rolling towards some of them and then throws Mjolnir in the other way. He helps the Captain to his feet. Mera sits on the side, clearly annoyed with her arms crossed over her chest.]
Thor: "Are you ready for another bout?"
Steve: "What, are you getting sleepy?" [Thor smirks at him before getting his hammer.]
[Natasha has retrieved Loki's sceptre and Selvig is setting up his equipment. He points to the device.]
Selvig: "Right at the crown!"
[Natasha begins to push the spear through the barrier surrounding the cube, sizzling little blue sparks.]
Natasha: "I can close it. Can anybody copy it? I can shut the portal down!" [The scene cuts to Cap.]
Cap: "Do it!" [Tony is heard on coms]
IM: "No wait!"
Cap: "Stark! These things are still coming." [Inside the suit:]
IM: "I got a nuke coming in. It's gonna blow in less than a minute."
[Stark flies towards the missile, following closely behind it. Inside the suit:]
IM: "And I know just where to put it."
[Iron Man grabs hold of it and begins to redirect it towards the city. Inside the suit:]
Cap: "Stark, you know that's a one-way trip! Think about Mera!"
IM: "Tony: "Save the rest for the turn, J. Tell Mera she's the best thing to ever happen to me."
JARVIS: "Sir, shall I try Miss Potts?" [A hologram picture of Pepper appears.]
Tony: "Might as well."
[Pepper is watching the news with three others. The reporter on the news continues to talk.]
Reporter: "Streets in New York City have become a battleground. The army is here trying to contain the violence but clearly, it is outmatch. And I have to say, in all my years of reporting, I have never seen anything like this."
[her phone starts to vibrate but she doesn't notice.]
[The scene cuts to Hill and many others watching the same news footage.]
Reporter: "We have limited information on the team but we do know that billionaire Tony Stark's Iron Man and his daughter Y'Mera Maria Stark- Also known as Aquawomen" [Fury watches intently]
[Iron Man is flying with the missile. Inside the suit, he is thinking hard. As Iron Man flies by, Cap and Thor look to the sky. Iron Man redirects the missile, barely missing Stark Tower, and pushes it up towards the portal. The rest of the Avengers look on.]
[In the Heli-carrier, everyone cheers in excitement. Hill gives out a breath of relief. Before looking towards Fury who gives a slight smile. But it then falters.]
[In space, all the lights on his suit go out, and Jarvis powers down. He watches as the missile hits the Chitauri mother ship and it explodes.]
[Back on earth the Chitauri collapse and the giant creature falls from the sky. Cap, Thor and Mera look around as they do.]
[Back in space, Tony closes his eyes. With Mera.]
Mera: "Come on, Dad."
Cap: "Close it." [Mera's eyes widen.]
Mera: "What?! No don't! My Dad is up there! I know he's gonna make it- Just wait!"
Natasha: "I'm sorry, honey!"
Mera: "No!-"
[Natasha plunges the sceptre into the heart of the device. Just as the portal closes, Tony falls through back to earth. The Avengers look up and see Tony reappear.]
Steve: "Son of a gun!" [Iron Man plummets the ground.]
Thor: "He's not slowing down." [Thor begins to swing his hammer and is going to leap into the air, Mera watches them before looking up at her dad. Hulk catches him slides down onto the side of a building, and crashes to the ground right in front of Cap and Thor.]
[Hulk throws Iron Man off him and Thor and Cap run over.]
Cap: "Is he breathing?"
[Thorpulls off Iron Man's face plate and Cap listens for aheartbeat, then sees the arc reactor is not glowing. Mera watches intently, tears blur her vision when Cap looks up at her with a sad frown. Suddenly the Hulk roars and beats his chest. Tony, shocked,gasps and opens his eyes, looking around.]
Tony: "What the hell?" [Thor looks down at him before he slowly smiles.] "What just happened? Please tell me nobody kissed me." [Mera laughs as she kneels beside him, Cap sits back and nods.]
Cap: "We won." [Tony sighs and lays his head back.]
Tony: "Alright, Hey. Alright. Good job,guys. Let's just not come intomorrow. Let's just take a day.You ever tried shawarma? There's ashawarma joint about two blocksfrom here. I don't know what it is,but I wanna try it. "
Everyone laughs at Tony.
Mera: "We're not finished yet."
Tony: "And then shawarma after?" [Mera nods,]
Mera: "And then Shawarma after."
[Loki crawls over to a stair and turns to see the Avengers surrounding him. Hawkeye has an arrow aimed at his face. Natasha is holding his sceptre. Hulk growls. Mera stood next to her father with her Trident. Cap stood next to Hulk with his shield. Loki looks at the whole group.]
Loki: "If it's all the same to you, I'll have that drink now." [Mera rolls her eyes.]

[The scene cuts to the camera going over Central Park, pulling towards the city of New York. Reporters are seen on monitors. It was a week or two later.]
Reporter#2: "Despite the devastation of what has been confirmed-"
Reporter#3: "-as an extra-terrestrial attack, the extraordinary heroics of the group known as the Avengers have been to many a cause not only for comfort but for celebration."
Male#1: "It's just really great knowing they're out there. That someone is watching over us."
Women#1: "I love you Thor!"
Thor looks at the screen proudly.
Male#2: "And these guys were like -mimics lasers- and then the air goes [mimics explosion.] And this green guy and he goes roar!"
Male#3: "I don't know. I don't exactly feel safer with those things out there."
Women#2: "It just seems that there's a lot they're not telling us."
Stan Lee: "Superheroes in New York? Give me a break."
Male#4: "These so-called 'heroes' have to be held responsible for the destruction done to this city. This was their fight. Where are they now?" [The scene cuts to a bridge slowly going up.]
Reporter#4: "Tough questions are being asked about the Avengers themselves. Their sudden appearance.-" [Thor is seen holding Loki as he had a muzzle and handcuffs. Tony is carrying a briefcase, Barton, Natasha, Banner and Steve all walk from their cars. Mera is seen next to Tony with the clothes from before] "-and equally their sudden disappearance."
Women#3: "What, this is all somehow their fault?"
[The woman from earlier was seen talking into the camera. On Fury's screen]
Woman #4: "Captain America and Aquawoman saved my life. Wherever they are, and wherever any of them are, I would just... I would want to say thank you."
[On four screens above there are the council members.]
Councilmen#2: "Where are the Avengers?"
Fury: "I'm not currently tracking their whereabouts. I'd say they've earned a leave of absence."
Councilwomen: "And the Tesseract?" [Selvig takes a glass cylinder out of a truck. Tony opens his case, which is on the ground. Banner holds the Cube with some tongs and puts it into the glass cylinder Selvig has. Mera watches with her arms crossed.]
Councilman #1: "That's not your call."
Fury: "I didn't make it. I just didn't argue with the god that did."
[Thor smiles as he shakes hands with Selvig.]
Councilman #1: "So, you let him take it and the war criminal, Loki, who should be answering for his crime.-"[Loki looks upon Natasha, she whispers something into Barton's ear that makes him smile.]
Fury: "Oh I think he will be."
[Thor holds the cylinder that has the Tesseract in it. He gestures it to Loki, who grabs one end of the cylinder and Thor has the other, he nods to the others and twists the device, which lights up and the two vanish into the sky as the group looks on.]
Councilwomen: "I don't think you understand what you've started," [Steve and Tony shake hands in front of his new car, Mera stands behind Tony with a smile.] "letting the Avengers loose on this world-" [Natasha takes a duffel bag out of the backseat of a car. She hands it to Banner as Barton heads to the driver's seat.] "They're dangerous." [Tony kisses Mera's forehead, making her smile and exchange some inaudible words to each other. Mera nods before going towards her expensive motorcycle, she takes her helmet before putting it over her head.] "And not to forget the teenager. Who knows what type of power she holds? She's half Atlantean for goodness sake." [Banner and Tony get into his new car and drive off. Mera following from behind]
Fury: "They surely are, and the whole world knows it." [The scene cuts to Fury] "Every world knows it."
councilmen#1: "What was the point of all this? A statement?"
[Steve is seen on his motorcycle driving off. Smiling]
Fury: "A promise."
[Back with Fury, the council sign off and Fury then exits the room. The scene cuts to Hill and Fury talking on the bridge.]
Hill: "Sir, how does this work now? They've gone their separate ways. Some, extremely far. As far as the Indian Ocean. If we get into a situation like this again, what happens then?"
Fury: "They'll come back."
Hill: "Are you sure about that?"
Fury: "I am." [Fury looks out of the Heli-carrier]
Hill: "Why?"
Fury: "Because we'll need them too."
[Hill nods, in respect. She turns and walks back over the bridge and takes a folder from a SHIELD agent. Fury stands proud on the air deck.]
[The scene cuts to Mera looking at the plans for the new tower when Pepper and Tony join her, smiling at her. The camera slowly zooms out. The huge STARK on the side of the tower has been destroyed, save for the letter "A". The screen goes black.]
"That was..." Bloom trails off.
