you woke up in the nurse's room with your head absolutely pounding. you tried getting up but felt yourself get pushed back down,
"hey, hey, you're awake!" you heard voice exclaim. you slightly squinted your eyes and saw itadori with a face of relief, "don't force yourself to sit up, you had a really bad concussion during the event,"
"itadori??" you asked, just to make sure since you were still in a but of a daze,
"yeah! it's me," he took a hold of your hand and squeezed it comfortingly, not letting go,
"i'm glad you remember my face, i was worried you would get memory loss or something," he chuckled,
"i don't think it was that bad," you smiled, "can you get me some painkillers, please. my head is pounding,"
"of course! i'll go get some for you now,"
"thank you,"
itadori came back a couple minutes later with painkillers and a cup of water. he took hold of your hand again. you took the painkillers and chuckled at the sight of itadori grabbing your hand like you were going to run away,
"you miss me or something?" you teased. his face slightly heated up and looked down,
"honestly, i was pretty worried for you.. you were bleeding pretty badly," he sighed, "i'm just glad you're awake now,"
"where's megumi and nobara?" you asked,
"megumi is in another ward, nobara is accompanying him. do you feel like visiting?"
"yeah, please,"
he smiled and helped you up, grabbing a hold of your waist to make sure you don't completely fall since you were still dizzy from the concussion.
he led you to megumi's ward. nobara's eyes lit up when she saw you. she ran up to give you a hug,
"y/n! i was so worried about you!" she whined,
"i'm glad you care," you chuckled, "hey megs, are you okay?" looking at the boy with a pizza box on his lap,
"yeah, i'm okay. are you? you took a pretty bad hit.. there was blood literally pooling out of your head,"
"yeah, it wasn't a great look on you, y/n. red doesn't suit you," nobara added
"wow, thanks for the input nobara. i have a bit of a headache but i'm okay," you shrugged,
"come have some pizza!" nobara exclaimed. you chuckled as itadori led you to the chair to sit down.
he grabbed another one and set it next to you, holding onto your hand once more. you looked at it and spoke lowly,
"what's this about?"
"please don't question it for now," he sighed. you rose a brow,
"i'll question it later then.."
nobara then looked at you and down towards your hand that was intertwined with itadori's. she looked at you with a questionable look and began talking,
"so itadori, when did you start becoming friends with that gorilla?"
"i remember what happened but i wasn't really myself at the time.." he responded,
"so you were drunk?" nobara deadpanned, taking a bite of the pizza,
"do you really think i'd be the type to drink in that situation?! that hurts, kugisaki..." itadori shook his head dissapointingly, "but anyways.. we're glad you guys are okay," he looked towards you and megumi. you smiled at them softly,
"itadori, you fought them too, you've gotten stronger," megumi spoke. you agreed,
"yeah, i saw that you learnt how to do the black flash,"
"yeah.." itadori rubbed his neck, smiling sheepishly from all the attention,
"i hope you know.. that i'm gonna get stronger too and surpass you," megumi said seriously,
"i'm sure you will," itadori grinned,
"hey, don't forget about me!" nobara added,
"me too," you spoke softly.
out of nowhere todo then showed up,
"as expected of my brother's friends.." he grinned proudly, wiping a fake tear off his face,
'when did he even get here?' you wondered.
itadori then slowly let go of your hand and bolted out the window. todo called out to him dramatically begging him not to leave. you stifled a laugh as todo began chasing itadori,
"see what i mean? gorilla." nobara spoke. you started laughing as itadori tried explaining himself to todo. all todo did was brush it off claiming that itadori has been like that since junior high,
"I DIDN'T GO TO JUNIOR HIGH WITH YOU?!?"

a few days later, you were still healing so you decided to sit out for the rest of the event. a new competition was chosen due to the injuries inflicted from the last competition and it happened to be baseball??
nobara was the first batter for the tokyo team. she decided to call herself tohoku's mashiro tanaka,
"isn't tanaka a pitcher..?" itadori asked,
"i think?" you said a little unsurely,
"um yeah, tanaka is a pitcher," megumi added.
mechamaru happened to be the pitcher which was just a pitching machine.. of course nobara complained but she got on base either way,
"goo nobara!!" you cheered
"she's nuts.." itadori muttered.
megumi was next, then panda, then maki. maki had done a really good hit. she claimed it would have gotten her at least three runs but momo ended up catching it on her broom,
"WHAT THE FUCK? HOW IS THAT ALLOWED?" you questioned,
"THAT CAN'T BE FAIR!" itadori called,
"settle down.." megumi muttered, embarrassed for the two of you. after you both settled it was itadori's turn to pitch. he looked at you and megumi before bragging,
"watch me kick everyone's asses,"
"i'm sure you will, itadori," you smiled,
"just get onto the field," megumi groaned.
todo was the batter which fueled todo's love for itadori even more,
"bring it, brother!" he shouted.
itadori then pitched with the ball hitting todo square in the face. you cried trying to hold in your laugh,
"nice pitch, itadori!!" you cackled. everyone else called nice pitch to him as he held onto todo dramatically,
"todo.. you are seriously hated!" he exclaimed in shock. after todo walked off in shame, he handed the bat to itadori to be batter next. as soon as it was pitched to him, he hit it all the way out of the field gaining a home run for the tokyo team,
"well that's gone.." maki grinned.
itadori ran up to you after the win,
"y/n! y/n! did you see that! i got a home run! also did you see my pitch! it was kind of funny but i felt bad for hurting todo.." you chuckled at his childishness,
"yes, itadori, i saw all of it. you did great," you gave him a high five, walking back to your dorm with itadori following you like a lost puppy,
"you know, y/n, you call fushiguro and kugisaki by their first names.. call me by my first name too! it makes me feel left out," he whined,
"okay, i'll start calling you yuji then," you smiled,
"yay! i'll see you later, y/n. goodnight!" the boy grinned after dropping you off at your dorm.
before he started walking away, you remembered how a couple days ago he kept holding your hand like you were about to take your last breath. you decided to ask him about it,
"wait! yuji. i forgot to ask, why were you so adamant on holding my hand when i was in hospital? did something that bad really happen to me?"
"no, nothing serious happened. i was just worried for you, ya know? i wanted to be assured that you were okay.." he looked away from you nonchalantly. you rose a brow once more at his questionable explanation,
"uh huh..."
"look! i've grown pretty attached to you, y/n!! i lived with you for almost a month, can you blame me for caring?" he blurted out. your cheeks heated up at his little confession. you didn't expect to get so worked up from it, but coming from yuji, it meant a lot to you,
"i guess not. thanks yuji, goodnight," you smiled. you closed the door seeing him walk away, laying your hands on your flushed cheeks,
'god.. i need to get some sleep,'
