hey ya'll! this oneshot is pretty unrealistic but fun to write anyways lol! this is what would've happened if Griffin cheated on Harper! love you guys! enjoy the oneshot!
The 16 year old boy rocked back and forth, knees pulled up to his chest, and he sat on his comfortable bed. He had tears streaming down his face and nothing anyone could do could console the young boy.
It was his fault. It was all his fault.
Griffin Campbell loved his girlfriend Harper Dunn with all his heart. He loved her so much, in fact, that what he did probably broke his heart more than it would break hers. They had been together for two years. And Griffin cheated.
The girls name was Stacy. She was Griffin's best friend from Chicago. When the Campbell's moved to Sulphur Springs, Griffin and her texted occasionally but they pretty much lost contact. She surprised him with a visit!
Everything had been going fine, Griffin showed her the Tremont, they had went for hikes, played in the springs, he had even introduced her to Harper! But it was the day that she was heading back to Chicago. She had confessed her undying love that she'd had for Griffin since they were 6 years old.
He had kissed her. Why? He didn't flipping know. He just did! One kiss turned into two, two turned to four, and then there was no turning back. They made out until Sarah walked into her sons room, witnessing the steamy makeout session and gasping. Griffin had pulled away in fear and stared at his mom with fearful, wide eyes.
"Stacy, your folks are leaving. Griffin, I'll be back for you." Sarah said angrily.
He was now anxiously awaiting his mother's return, knowing that she had already called Harper, sobbing on his bed. He didn't mean it, truly! But he had done it anyways.
Sarah walked into the room, and stood in the doorway, glaring angrily at her oldest son. Ben marched into the room behind his wife and looked deep into his son's terrified eyes.
"WE DID NOT RAISE A CHEATER. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU GRIFFIN JAMES CAMPBELL?" Ben screamed. Zoey and Wyatt listened from outside the door.
"Cheater?" Zoey asked worried.
"You cheated on Harper?" Wyatt's voice broke. Just hearing those words, Griffin began sobbing. He hid his head in his hands and the tears wouldn't stop.
"Go to your rooms, kids. We will deal with Griffin." Sarah said angrily. The twins sadly shuffled to their rooms.
"Harper is on her way over here right now. You are going to tell her what you did, and you are gonna deal with the consequences. Face it, Griffin James, you and Harper are done. So you better wipe your tears, and deal with your consequences like a man. Although real men, would never cheat on someone they cared about." Ben explained sternly, angry look on his face.
"Did you even care about her?" Sarah asked angrily.
"Yes!" Griffin cried.
"Well you sure as shit didn't show it. Wipe your goddamn tears and wait here. We'll send Harper up when she gets here." Ben said madly. He set his hand on Sarah's back and guided her out of the room. He slammed the door. And Griffin reluctantly wiped his tears.
He waited for Harper attempting not to cry again.
Now all there was to do was wait.

Harper confusedly walked into Griffin's room. As she stepped in, she looked at Griffin, looking upset, sitting on his bed.
"Hey, Griff." She smiled. He broke down into tears. "Hey, hey, its okay. Come here."
She attempted to hug the boy but he pushed her away.
"Don't hug me, I don't deserve it." He sobbed.
"Why don't you deserve it, Griff. Can I please give you a hug, you're upset." Harper stated. He violently shook his head. He wiped his tears and looked her in the eye.
"Harper, I have something to confess." Griffin choked out.
"Okay, love, what is it?" Harper asked worriedly.
"I c ea t d o y u." Griffin mumbled.
"What was that, Griff?" Harper asked.
"I cheated on you! Okay!? I didn't mean to, I'll never do it again, please, I just-" Griffin sobbed. Harper turned around and began walking out the door. "Please, Harper, just listen to me, I'm sorry! Don't leave me, please come back!"
"WHAT THE HELL, GRIFFIN!?" She yelled.
"Please let me explain." He whimpered. She crossed her arms and glared at him, breathing heavily.
"You have five minutes and then I'm leaving." She stated bluntly.

She kept her word and gave him five minutes. He explained everything, sobbing the whole time. A blank stare remained on Harper's face.
"Please." He pleaded, still trembling.
"Please what?" Harper asked with a scoff.
"Forgive me?" He whimpered. She laughed.
"Screw you, Griffin James Campbell. We're done. I never wanna see you again. We're through. Have a nice life." She stated.
He broke down into tears and Harper exited his room, slamming the door in his face.
His mom knocked lightly five minutes later.
"Learn your lesson?" Sarah asked gently. Griffin sobbed in response and attempted to nod through the tears. "I'm gonna take that as a yes."
"I'm sorry." Griffin whimpered.
"It's okay. I mean, its not, and you're gonna be marked with that for the rest of your life, but I'll never stop loving you, and I know you're hurting right now, so come here, baby." Sarah sighed. She hugged him and rubbed his back, Griffin sobbed into her shoulder the entire time.
He was broken. He thought he'd never get better. And he was right.
That was all two years ago now. Griffin was now back in Chicago. His mom and brother had been killed in a car accident on the same road Harper's dad had originally thought to have died on. They had been hit by a drunk driver, killing the both of them instantly.
Ben sold the hotel. The Dunn's had bought it and the last time Ben had spoken to Jess, everything was running smoothly.
Today was the day they were gonna pay the Tremont a visit.
They pulled up the driveway and Griffin awoke from his deep slumber in the car.
"Kids, we're here. Welcome back to the Tremont." Ben sighed, reminiscing on all the good times.
"Topher!" Zoey yelled, hopping out of the car. The two best friends ran to each other. Harper smiled and hugged Zoey. Griffin stayed back next to his dad by the car.
"It's been two years, kid. This is your time to heal." Ben offered. Griffin's lip quivered and he silently shook his head.
"Hi, Mr. Campbell!" Harper exclaimed, hugging Ben and ignoring Griffin.
"Hey, Harp, how've you been?" The man asked.
"So great! Life is amazing!" She exclaimed.
Amazing without me. Griffin thought sadly.
"Need help with your bags?" Harper asked.
"No, Griffin and I got it! Strong men, right Griff?" Ben asked, trying to bring the boy into the conversation. He refused to look up and shrugged.
"Yeah.... I'm gonna go help the other new arrivals. It was great to see you, Mr. Campbell!" Harper exclaimed, ignoring Griffin once again. A tear rolled down his cheek.
"What's up, Mr. Campbell?" Topher asked.
"Nothing much, Toph, how about yourself?" Ben asked, fist bumping the boy.
"Not much. Not much. Griffin." Topher sighed simply, not wanting to be rude. At least he acknowledged his presence.
"Toph and I are gonna go to the springs! Griff, could you take my bag inside, pretty please with a cherry on top?" Zoey pouted.
"Sure, sis." He muttered. She thanked him and ran off with Topher towards the springs.
Griffin wiped his teary eyes and grabbed their luggage.

It had been 4 days. They were going back to Chicago tomorrow. Griffin rarely left the room. It was the one time that he left. He was leaning on the porch railing, watching as Zoey and Topher skipped around the front yard.
"Hey, you can't lean on that railing." A teasing voice rang out. He'd know that voice anywhere.
Harper.
"Oh, uh, sorry..." He mumbled, getting off the railing.
"I was kidding. So, two years, long time." Harper said awkwardly.
"Uh-huh." He muttered, refusing to look her in the eye.
"Griffin, stop. It doesn't matter to me anymore. You made a mistake, it happened, its been forever. You can talk to me you know." Harper spat out. He sniffled and felt tears sting his eyes.
"I'm sorry." His voice came out at a meek whisper. A few tears fell from his face.
"I know you are. I forgive you. We can never go back to how we were, but maybe now's our chance to clear the air." Harper offered. Griffin wiped his tears, embarrassed.
"I'd like that." He breathed out.
She extended her arms. He tilted his head in confusion and she nodded. He hugged her tighter than he ever had before. She wrapped her arms around him and he felt the safest he ever had.
They never dated again. They didn't even talk much once he went back to Chicago.
But Griffin had found the peace he needed.
The closure, he needed.
