JENNIE'S POV
There's this thing in our office that I hate wholeheartedly. All the employees are required to do a physical annually and for health insurance purposes also.
Every department has a schedule unfortunately for us we are scheduled
this afternoon. No offense but I don't really like going to the hospital. Well of course if I am dying yes you may bring me but if it is just a cold or cough Vicks Vapor rub will do the trick.
Last year the doctor "advised me to lose 10-15lbs "at least" as he said
because apparently my BMI is on the overweight spectrum.
It is not like I am the only one who can hear what he is saying. Everyone can
hear him because the area was divided by curtains for privacy not an 8 inch
wall that can at least muffle his voice.
"Well miss Ruby jane It doesn't hurt if you can lose 10 to 15 pounds
because you are a little bit overweight. Your eyes are on the severe side so I
suggest surgery or a new prescription glasses.
Well over all you are healthy just increase your vegetable intake since your
hemoglobin is borderline anemic. "
I don't want to experience that again. Ever.
So here I am pouting in front of my girlfriend in her office while she is
scanning various papers and purposely ignoring me.
After a few minutes she sighs and says
"Love. You know you can't back out on that physical right? It is important
that I know you and all my employees are healthy."
"But I don't wanna do it Jisoo!" I whine "What's the use of you
The owner is my girlfriend If I can't get out of this thing." Yes I did go there.
Sue me. I really don't want to go.
"No. You are going and that's final. If it will make you feel better I'll
accompany you."
Heck no! Double the humiliation.
"Noooooooo...." I whined.
"Yeeeeeeeess.." she replied back in a higher tone mimicking my voice.
Someone knocked on the door. The door is a little bit half way open. Scott entered the room slowly and his eyes were closed. Why?
"Can I open my eyes now?" He ask.
"Are we playing hide and seek Scott? Why did you not tell me. Wait
don't open your eyes! I did not hide yet!" I excitedly get up from the couch
and quickly scan the office of Jisoo.
Where can I hide. Bathroom and private room are too obvious. I land my gaze on Jisoo who is looking at me blankly. Aha! I know where I can hide. Scott will not see me at all. Jisoo's expression changed from blank to curious when she saw me smile deviously. I walked towards her and I saw her face became amused when I pushed her chair a little bit backwards. Her eyes widened when she saw me go down on my knees and crawl under her table. I sat comfortably then reached out to her chair to pull her chair back to its original place. I peek out and Jisoo's face is red. Is she blushing? For what? Because I am near her knee and upper leg? Maybe she is ticklish and she doesn't want me to know. God these people are so weird.
Jisoo cleared her throat I don't know why but I think when Scott heard
her do that he opened his eyes.
"mam are you alright? You're a little bit flushed. And I swear I heard the
voice of Ms. Ruby Jane." I can hear Scott ask Jisoo.
"Yes I am. What do you need Scott. And Jennie apparently thought you were playing hide and seek."
"Oh I see. Okay I'll look for her later. These are the contracts that we sent
to the company that we will acquire for $35 million their lawyer already
checked the whole contract and they will send the signed copies this
afternoon or tomorrow morning-" I spaced out when they started talking
about mergers, contracts etc. I got distracted by a loose thread on Jisoo's
pants near her upper leg.
I reach out and try to tug it. I can feel Jisoo's leg stiffen and I heard her
breath hitch. She closes her legs on my hand to stop me from removing the
loose thread.
Hihihi. Jisoo got shy. So cute.
Nope. I need to remove that it doesn't look good. With determination I
push her legs apart and kneel so I can see clearly where the loose thread
started. Thank God her table is big so Scott can't see me.
I leaned over her leg to search for it. Aha! The thread is in the inner upper
side of her upper leg. Gotcha!
I brush my hand on her inner thigh which elicits a moan from Jisoo? Or
maybe she is clearing her throat again and I just thought she was moaning?
I thug the thread repeatedly and I accidentally brush near her crotch but hey
I got the thread removed.
"Are you really alright Mam? You got more flushed and you keep clearing
your throat. Do you want me to call your doctor?"
"No need. You're dismissed."
"Certainly mam. Ms. Ruby jane is good at hiding. You won!"
Yey! I won! I did a sort of victory dance while kneeling and I got out of
balance that my face smashed to Jisoo's thigh.
Whoops.
In one fast move Jisoo rolls her chair backwards and lifted me from under
the table by my armpits and make me sit on her lap. She wrapped her arms around me and buried her face on the crook of my
neck and said
"You're very very naughty, love. You'll be the death of me I swear."
What did I do? naughty? So santa will not give me gifts this christmas?

time skip-
After the incident at Jisoo's office she sent me downstairs because she
said she will take care of a personal problem then she went to the bathroom
and slam the door hurriedly.
If she just said she has a stomachache from the first itself I will go downstairs
voluntarily and I'll not prolong my stay in her office. I realize that's why she was sweating and flushed she needs to go number 2.
Here I am in line for the physical. I am waiting for my turn. There are 3
stations 1 they will check your height, weight and other measurements they
can think off then you will answer a checklist from your food intake down
to your activity everyday.
Next station is laboratories blood and x-ray and the last is where you can
get your medications that were prescribed to you after the physical. Every station has a doctor so you can be evaluated on the spot when the results are
in.
Females and Males are separated so on my side my coworkers chatter
non stop and seems they all know each other and me yup smack in the
middle of their group. How awkward.
Unexpectedly my Phone rings.
I took out my phone and saw Jisoo calling

I know how to answer the call Jisoo taught me. The rest of the feature of
this phone? I have no clue. Such a waste right? Right?!
I told Jisoo that a keypad phone is enough for me but she just ignores
me and distract me by convincing me that we still need to practice that
spanish kissing or is it american kissing? The bottom line is I forgot my
argument and we still did not do it perfectly according to Jisoo so we
need to practice more.
"Hello?"
"Love. Where are you?"
"I am in the office."
"I know but where? Are you in the clinics?"
"Yup. I am in line"
"Okay. I love you."
"You love me! We're a happy family with a great big hug and a kiss from
me to you! Won't you say you love me tooo!!"
Jisoo sang the last part with me.
I know she like Barney! She is just denying it! Since Spongebob is banned
indefinitely I replaced him with Barney.
"See you love." Then she turned off the call.
"She is so weird. I mean I bet she is not really dating the boss and she's
just editing those pictures."
"She can hear you Elaine!"
"I don't care. I dare her to complain to her fantasy girlfriend."
Here they go again! Is minding their own business not teached in their
school? It is included in GMRC course right?
"I hope you are not gossiping literally behind my Girls back Ms.."
Jisoo?? It is her! I know that voice! That is her normal tone outside our
room. Her professional, Cold, strict and butthole tone. She used that when she
is dealing with other people except me of course.
I look back and sure enough she is there. Jisoo is glaring at her employees.
she reaches out and flips the ID of the employee she is currently giving the
lava degree.
"Ms. Stuart. Do you?"
"No-no mam." She denied. Wrong move sister. Jisoo is practically a
walking lie detector.
"So you mean I am the one who is lying Ms. Stuart?!"
"No-no mam."
"Is that all you can answer? There are so many words printed in the
dictionary and you only know those two words?"
Other employees are trying to act aloof.
Pfft. They are not fooling anyone.
Okay that's enough. They learned their lesson already. I walk to where
Jisoo was standing and grabbed her hand and tried to pull her back to my
line.
Key word. "Tried."
"A minute love. I am having an interesting conversation with one of your
floor mate."
She sweetly said to me.
She needs psychological help I swear.
She leans down near Ms. Stuart's face, and said loudly and threateningly.
"Remember Ms. Stuart. No ivy league school can teach you manners. I'd
rather hire an undergrad and inexperienced applicants than a stuck up bitch
like you. Don't be complacent in your position. I can fire anyone. I'll not
sack you since I have no grounds YET but remember I AM WATCHING
YOU. So if I were you do your job well because one mistake and you'll find
yourself jobless."
She then straightened her suit jacket and glare to all the employees
around her.
She glanced at me and smiled.
"Is it your turn now love?"
Bipolar person detected.
"Not ye-"
"Ms. Jennie ruby jane please enter station 1."
"It seems that it is your turn now. Come on Love. I'll come with you
inside. And no you can't back out."
I grumbled on the way in.
A mid 40's doctor with a young nurse greets us inside. Obviously they
did not expect the boss to accompany me.
Same dude. Same.
"Please remove your shoes then Step on the scale please. We will
measure your height and weight."
Oh no. I look at Jisoo pleadingly but she just nods her head towards the chair.
I sat down and stopped down to remove my shoes but Jisoo is already
kneeling and she removed both of my sneakers.
She neatly placed my shoes on the side and I handed her my phone.
I step on the scale and close my eyes because I don't want to see the
result.
"Okay mam you can put on your shoes and answer the questionnaire
about your diet and lifestyle."
"I'll do that." Jisoo volunteered.
She put my shoes first and tied it securely then proceeded to sit on the chair
in front of me. She gets the questionnaire from the doctor who is still puzzled
why his boss is the one answering it and not me.
Heck Jisoo knows almost everything about me. I don't need to say
anything. She already knows what I need and wants. She is very observant.
After a few minutes she hands the paper to the doctor to evaluate. This is
the worst part.
"Okay Miss Ruby Jane. It was written here that you got new glasses so
we will not test your eyesight anymore and according to the data we've
gathered this year and the previous year it seems that your height increased
by 2cm."
"You heard him Jisoo? I grow taller!" I shouted with glee.
"So it seems love. I am happy for you. What an important achievement.
We will celebrate later okay?"
I nodded in agreement.
"But your metabolism is still the same so your weight is also increased.
You did not lose weight at all for the past year.
You need to lose weight-"
Fudge. This it. I want to cry. Truth hurts.
"Shut up. She doesn't need to lose weight. She is perfect as she is.
Mention her weight one more time see what happens." The doctor became
flustered as Jisoo continued to glare at him.
"I - I am sorry mam. Well uhmm. Yes that's it you can go to the next room
for blood work and Xray."
Finish? Wow now they will poke me with their needles. Ughh.
Last station Jennie. You'll be alright. Jisoo stood up and grabbed my hand. We went to the next station. I sat
down on the extraction chair as instructed by the staff. Jisoo stood on my
other side.
She squats and says
"Look at me love. Show me those beautiful hazel eyes I love."
I look at her with evident fear in my eyes.
"I'll buy you a double scoop of chocolate fudge Ice cream love for being
brave. One last step okay?" I nodded.
I want that Ice cream so bad. I can do this! Be brave Jennie.
The nurse tied that rubber thing on my upper arm and at the same time I
squeeze the hand of Jisoo.
"Just a tiny prick ma'am. Just like an insect bite."
After her warning I felt a very big insect bite like a wasp sting. I teared
up just a little.
Jisoo buries my face in her neck and whispered.
"Shh..It's alright love. It is done. Such a brave girl. This is nothing right?
You recovered from your operation like a champ last year."
"I didn't feel much pain back then because of the anesthesia they gave me
and I am unconscious when they insert the IV. Now I am conscious and
coherent. Big difference."
"Done. Please wear the lab gown and remove any jewelry and bra if
you are wearing any and proceed to the other side for xray."
Jisoo did not assist me in removing my clothes but she tied the string at
the back of the disposable gown. I hand her my shirt and bra which she
shamelessly fold properly in front of the 2 staff inside the room.
They position me in front of a plate that is attached to the wall.
"Take a deep breath then hold. Okay done. You can change back
then the doctor will see you after 30 minutes."
Hallelujah I am done!
Jisoo entered and she quickly remove my gown. She turns around when I
was naked then faced me when I told her I am decent already.
"After this we will go to Dairy queen as promised. Okay love?"
I nodded.
Jisoo guided me outside. The waiting area was bustling with
employees male and female socializing with each other but when they saw that
We are standing in the doorway the room got quiet.
As usual Jisoo just ignores them and she drags me to a lone chair near
the corner. She sat down and she pulled me down to her lap. Since it is 30 mins
or more of waiting I might as well get comfortable. I adjusted my butt in her
lap so I can sit more comfortably then proceeded to lie on her chest so
my face is lying on the crook of her neck.

"Good girl." She murmured.
I know what she meant. I am starting to ignore people's gossip about me. I
am getting there but not yet. I hope I will learn how to defend myself but
heck I don't really like confrontations. I stand by the saying keeping quiet
will avoid more conflicts but I realize it is not applicable for all situations.
"Can't I skip the physical next year?"
"I'll just let Ken do your evaluation next year. Don't listen to that doctor
love You are perfect. Listen people have different body shape love. Even if
your shape is like a twig or as round as a circle it doesn't matter. It IS
NORMAL. Don't let the media or other people taint your body image. As
long as your healthy that is enough. Yes you lose weight but are you
happy? That is the most important part. Tummy rolls and your chubby cheeks are normal. I'll get sad
If I can't pinch them anymore. Do you want me to get sad?"
"No." I murmured. Sucks for you doctor! I really need to mass produce
Jisoo. Her wisdom are awe inspiring. Maybe I can convince her to be a
speaker?
We stayed in that position in I don't know how long. To pass the time Jisoo alternately play with my hands then glare at someone. I did not
check who.
At one point she brought out her phone and we took a picture in which I reluctantly agreed.
"Come on love. Just one pic okay?"
"Only one?" I clarified.
"Yes. "
"Okay. Just one."
"Yey!" She cheered silently.
She focused her front camera in front of us and she proceeded to press her
cheek to mine and murmured
"I love you." Caught off guard I smiled and she took the picture.
she checked her phone and said.
"It is blurred love. One more."
So she takes pictures again but every time it is always blurred. So I don't
know how many pictures she captured before the picture became clear.
"You really should change your phone Jisoo if it is always blurred
every time we take a picture. "
"You may be right love. I'll get to that later."
"Ms. Jennie ruby jane please proceed to station 2 thank you."
That's me! Finally!
We stood up and went back to station 2. Another doctor was there and he
was scrolling through a tablet. I know what you're thinking. Why does Jennie
an illiterate in technology knows what a tablet looks like. I know their appearance but I don't know how to use them there issue
cleared.
"Please sit down Ms. Ruby Jane."
He looks up but he was obviously taken aback by Jisoo's presence.
He did not say anything. Good for him.
"Well your hemoglobin improved but it is a little bit low so I'll be prescribed
multivitamins to increase it. Your Vitamin D result is impressive it seems
like you are always outside."
I smugly look at Jisoo. "See all my time in the pool is not a waste."
Jennie-1 , Jisoo-0
"Yes of course love but it should be only early morning not until in the
middle of the afternoon. Right doctor?"
"Yes Miss. Kim you are correct. Mid afternoon you are more
prone to UV rays. I advise you Ms. Ruby jane to stay out until 10 am."
Now Jisoo looks smug.
Jennie-1, Jisoo-1
"To continue overall you are a healthy young woman. You can increase
your fiber to help the multivitamins that I prescribed. The previous doctor
noted in your file about your wei-"
"Do you want to continue your sentence doctor?!" Jisoo coldly said.
"No mam.of course not. See you next year Ms. Ruby Jane. You can get your medication on the next station. Have a great day."
I thank the doctor and then we stood up.
On station 3 they gave me a bottle with multivitamins. I gave it to Jisoo
since she is my personal assistant. Hihihihi.
She is reading the label while walking "It says here love once a day after
lunch So it means I need to bring this everyday in my suitcase." She stop
and turns around.
"Where are you going?"
"I'll get another bottle. I want another one for our house. This one I will keep in my office."
In Jisoo's fashion she set an alarm on her phone for my multivitamins. I
told you she's like a PA with an extra step.
I got 2 hours left on my shift so I went back to the printing room.
It was empty. Maybe they are not done yet. While waiting for them I
arrange all the documents and separate them by floor. I attach sticky notes
to all of them ranging from "hope your physical goes well, be healthy, be
happy etc."
I hope I encourage at least one of them. And put a smile on their face.
My friends came back at 4pm. Han said Minho has high cholesterol so he
needs to cut off oily and salty food while Han is healthy. Chase is also
included on the physical even if he is only an intern and his results are all
normal.
"I swear that doctor just wants to touch my ass because he insisted that I need to check my prostate size." Minho complained.
Han rolled his eyes and said "Nope. You heard wrong he said that our
prostate enlarges as we grow older so he advised us to get it checked regularly
as soon as we hit 50."
"What the heck you check it every night that is enough already." Minho exclaimed.
Chase covered his ears and said "TMI guys TMI."
What is TMI? Like FBI?
"You're a doctor Han?" I ask.
"No. Jennie if I am why am I working here with you?"
"If you're not How can you check it every night like Minho said?"
The three of them gapes at me and they nudge each other.
"No I am not! Boss already scold me last time about BJ! I almost peed
my pants and she did not even raise her voice the whole time. She just stared
at me and I want to die right there!" Minho exclaimed.
"You started this!" Han shouted at Mark.
Then they look at Chase.
Chase raised both of his hands and says.
"Hey now. Don't include me. I am just an intern. I don't want to thwart my
chances of working permanently here by explaining your nightly activities."
I dropped the topic since they just continued arguing.
I look at the time and it is already time to go home.
I left them still arguing then I went to Olympus floor so I can go the the
car with Jisoo.
I catch Jisoo already preparing to leave. She is currently turning off her
laptop.
As soon as Jisoo sees me she says "I miss you love."
I roll my eyes. She is too cheesy for her own good.
"You just saw me 2 hours ago."
"Two hours too long love."
She held my hand and we went down to the lobby. Her black Land Rover
was parked right at the entrance.
The MIBs ashered us inside the car. To my delight Jisoo bought me the
largest chocolate fudge Ice cream money can buy."
As usual I am allowed to eat it after dinner.
As we ate dinner which was delicious I noted that I'll treat the staff next time
since they are taking care of us especially Gio the chef and Albert the
buttler.
I stopped eating and said.
"Hey Jisoo?"
"Hmm?"
"Can I ask you a question?"
She stopped chewing her food and drank some of her juice then she nodded.
"How did Han check Minho's prostate every night?" I ask in wonder. I
can't forget this unanswered question. It bugs me.
Jisoo spit out her juice all over the table and the staff at our side also
coughs loudly.
"What the Fuck?!"
Did I ask something wrong?
