"Okie. If you need me, call me." Akruti says, stepping out of the house.

"Well, hello there, beautiful." The guy says, eyeing Akruti up and down.
"Who are you?" Akruti says. "Let me go." She says, trying to free her wrist.
"You got a good one this time, brother." Another guy appears.
"You smell so good!" The guy says as he shifts Akruti's hair and goes near her neck and kisses it.
"Ouff, don't just have her all to yourself, bro." The other guy says.

"I wonder what she tastes like." The other guy says.

"L-Let me go. Please, I beg." Akruti says, fear overwhelming her.
"I wish you would beg for something else." The guy says, letting go of her wrist.

"Hello." Varun says.
"Am I speaking to Mr Varun Bharadwaj?" The person on the other line asks.
"Speaking. Who are you?" Varun questions.
"Hi Mr Bharadwaj, this is Dr Abhinav Joshi speaking from Mumbai Central Hospital." Dr Abhinav introduces himself.
"Mumbai Central Hospital?" Varun says, confused.
"Yes. Do you know anyone by the name of Akruti Sharma?" Dr Abhinav asks.
"Yes, that's my fiancé. What has happened doctor?" Varun asks, his heartbeat getting stronger.
"She has had a car accident and has been severely injured, please make your way down to the hospital as we fear that she might not be able to make it. She is in ward C17." The doctor says in a lowered tone.
"Okay." Varun says, shock covering his whole face.
*𝑽𝒂𝒓𝒖𝒏 𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒍𝒚 𝒓𝒖𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆*
MUMBAI CENTRAL HOSPITAL
*𝑽𝒂𝒓𝒖𝒏 𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒍, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒓𝒖𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒐𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅*
"Ak-h-Akku." Varun says, lightly cupping Akruti's face whilst anger and fear take over on Varun's face as he spots marks on Akruti's neck.
"V-V-Varun." Akruti says, tears rolling down her eyes as she holds Varun's hands.
*𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒐𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒏*
"Mr Bharadwaj. If I may have a word with you." The doctor speaks.
*𝑽𝒂𝒓𝒖𝒏 𝒈𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆*
"Miss Sharma's health is rapidly deteriorating as she is lost a lot of blood, do you know anyone with the same blood type as her? AB negative?" The doctor asks.
"I have the same blood type." Varun says abruptly.
"Okay, we'll have to conduct a few tests on you and then we will start the procedure. Please fill out the necessary forms." The doctor says.
"Sure." Varun says and rushes back to Akruti. "Baby, I'm going to be right back, nothing is going to happen to you. I'm here now." Varun says, reassuring her and leaves the room.
MEANWHILE
BHARADWAJ RESIDENCE
*𝑬𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒎 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒅*
"Varun ko kya hua hai, yeh bhi nahi pata." Jaya Bharadwaj says stress taking over.
(Don't even know what has happened to Varun.)
"Akruti bhi ghar nahi aayi." Jaya auntie says worried.
(Akruti also hasn't come home.)
"Main toh Varun ko uska album dena wali thi achanak se call aa gaya aur voh nikal gaya. Kuch urgent lag raha tha, par woh normally toh phone kar deta hai. Abhi tak kiya hi nahi." Mrs Bharadwaj explains.
(I was going to give Varun his album and suddenly a call came and he left. It seemed like it was urgent, but normally he phones me and he hasn't.)
"Rehan beta, ek baar phone laga ke dekho shayad woh answer kar le." Mr Bharadwaj says. "Naalayak itni pareshaani mein dal diya hai."
(Rehan, try calling him once, maybe he will answer.)
(Idiot has put us all in a dilemma.)
*𝑹𝒆𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒔 𝑽𝒂𝒓𝒖𝒏*
"Uncle woh answer nahi kar raha." Rehan says, hanging up the phone.
(Uncle, he's not answering.)
*𝑹𝒆𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒔 𝒂 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒏 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒑𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒆*
"Uska message aaya hai." Rehan's face slightly lights up.
"Usne kya kaha." Mrs Bharadwaj says in anticipation.
"Sorry bhai tera phone answer nahi kiya. Mein aur Akruti hospital mein hai. Mein todhi der baad phone karunga. Thanks bhai." Rehan reads out.
(Sorry brother I didn't answer your phone call. Me and Akruti are in hospital. I will call you in a bit. Thanks brother.)
"Hospital mein?" Mr Bharadwaj questions.
(In hospital?)
MEANWHILE
MUMBAI CENTRAL HOSPITAL
*𝑽𝒂𝒓𝒖𝒏 𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏 𝒂 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒊𝒓 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆 𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒔 𝒂 𝒅𝒓𝒊𝒑 𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒎*
"Thank you Varun for coming forward for this." Dr Abhinav says.
"No need Doc." Varun replies.
AFTER 2 HOURS
"Mr Bharadwaj we have done the blood transfer, you are free to go. The doctor will see you outside." A nurse says to Varun.
"Thank you nurse." Varun says, leaving the room.
*𝑽𝒂𝒓𝒖𝒏 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒎 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒐𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓*
"Thank you Mr Bharadwaj for stepping in at such a critical stage. We are now just transferring blood to Miss Sharma and hopefully, she makes a speedy recovery." The doctor says.
"Thank you doctor." Varun says.
"Please just wait here until we finish, I will keep updating you on Miss Sharma's condition." The doctor says as he goes back into the operation theatre.
*𝑽𝒂𝒓𝒖𝒏 𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒔 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒖𝒍𝒍𝒔 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒑𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑹𝒆𝒉𝒂𝒏*
"Ha bhai." Varun says.
(Yes brother.)
"Varun, tum aur bhabhi theek toh hai na? Kya hua tum dono hospital mein kyu ho?" Rehan asks, panic in his voice.
(Varun, are you and sister-in-law are alright? Why are you both in hospital?)
"Akruti ka accident hua hai. Pata nahi kaise. Maa ko sorry keh dena ese hi nikal aaya aur unko pataya bhi nahi. Critical condition mein thi aur kaafi zyaada blood loss hua tha, par mera aur uska khoon same hai na iss liye maine khoon diya hua hai." Varun explains.
(Akruti has had an accident. I don't know how. Tell mom I'm sorry because I just ran out of the house and didn't tell her anything. She was in a critical condition and there was quite a lot of blood loss, but I have gave my blood because they both matched.)
"Bhai, mein sab ko le kar aata hoon." Rehan says.
(Brother, I'll bring everyone to the hospital.)
"Abhi nahi. Abhi woh log operate kar rahe hai, mein tujhe phone kar dunga tab liyana." Varun suggests.
(Not right now. They are operating right now, I'll phone you and then bring everyone.)
"Bhai par-" Rehan gets cut off.
(Brother, but-)
"Maine bola na. Abhi nahi." Varun says, slightly raising his tone.
(I told you. Not right now.)
"Theek hai bhai." Rehan says.

A FEW HOURS LATER
*𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒐𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒓𝒆*
"Doctor, how is she?" Varun asks, hope reflecting in his eyes.
"She is doing well, better than the condition she had come in, we have finished the operation so she will be transferred into the normal ward. If there any other family members please inform them that only 2-3 people can visit at a time and she can go into a shock. Please refrain from asking her too many questions as that can also create a shock for her." The doctor advises.
"Thank you doctor." Varun smiles in relief.
*𝑽𝒂𝒓𝒖𝒏 𝒈𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅, 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒂 𝒏𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝑨𝒌𝒓𝒖𝒕𝒊, 𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒍𝒌𝒔 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓*
"Mr Bharadwaj?" The nurse asks.
"Yes." Varun responds.
"Hi. I'm nurse Zahira, me and another nurse called Priti will be looking after Akruti ma'am whilst she is here. Is it you who will be staying here for the whole night?" The nurse asks.
"Yes." Varun answers.
"I'm sure the doctor has already advised you about family members." Nurse Zahira says.
"Yes. I'm going to let them know." Varun says.
"Okay, fantastic. Ma'am should wake up soon, if you or ma'am need anything please let us know." Nurse Zahira says, flashing a smile as she walks away.
"Thanks." Varun responds.
*𝑽𝒂𝒓𝒖𝒏 𝒘𝒂𝒍𝒌𝒔 𝒕𝒐𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔 𝑨𝒌𝒓𝒖𝒕𝒊 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒔 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒅, 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒍𝒚 𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒔 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒆𝒚𝒆𝒔*
"Aru." She speaks.
"Akku." Varun says, a tear rolls down his eye.
"Aru. Mujhe chodh ke mat jaana kabhi bhi." Akruti says, tears rolling down her eyes.
(Aru. Don't ever leave me.)
"Nahi chodh ke jaunga. Yaha hoon hamesha raksha karunga." Varun says deeply looking into Akruti's eyes.
(I won't ever leave you. I'm here, I'll always protect you.)
"Auntie aur sab kitni pareshani mein honge." Akruti says.
(Auntie and everyone must be so worried.)
"Maine unko pata diya hai. Rehan auntie aur Saanvi ko liyara hai." Varun says, brushing Akruti's hair to the side.
(I have told them. Rehan is bringing Auntie and Saanvi here.)
"Varun mein aapki paas hi aane waali thi. Aapko toh pata hai ki mein aaj shopping jaane waali thi. Kuch-h kuch goondo ne n-e m-mera-" Akruti starts deeply breathing.
(Varun, I was coming to you. You know that I was going to go shopping today. Some-e some hooligans were we-re-.)
"Akku, shaant raho. Yeh sab abhi nahi, tum gehri swaas lo aur shaant raho." Varun says, still holding onto Akruti.
(Akku, stay calm. Don't talk about this right now, take deep breaths and stay calm.)
*𝑨𝒌𝒓𝒖𝒕𝒊 𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒎𝒔 𝒅𝒐𝒘𝒏, 𝑹𝒆𝒉𝒂𝒏, 𝑱𝒂𝒚𝒂 𝒂𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒂𝒂𝒏𝒗𝒊 𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒆*
"Rehan tum mere saath do minute ke liye bhaar aao ge. Saanvi bhabhi doctor saab ne bola hai ki bohot sawal nahi puchna Akku ko kyu ki woh shock mein bhi jaa sakti hai. Please dhyaan rakhiyega." Varun explains.
(Rehan can you come outside with me for two minutes. Saanvi, the doctor has told me that we shouldn't ask too many questions as it can send her into a state of shock, please be careful."
"Theek hai bhai." Saanvi says.

"Kya hua bhai?" Rehan asks.
(What happened brother?)
"Aap log ke aane ke pehle Akku todhi si explanation kar rahi thi usne mention kiya ki kuch goonde the jab woh shopping jaa rahi thi, tum apne aadmi ko laga do kaam pe mujhe uss mall ki saari CCTV footage chahiye." Varun says.
(Before you guys came, Akku was explaining some things to me, she mentioned that some hooligans were there during her shopping trip, get your men on the job. I want all the CCTV footage from the mall.)
"Theek hai bhai." Rehan says.
(Okay, brother.)
