"You look", "stunning", Aaliyah finishes Shawn's sentence, and Karen says to my mum: "You have such a beautiful daughter, Jilian."
"Thank you. And I can only give that compliment back", my mother says, smiling at Aaliyah who is looking great tonight. Jordan, a few steps behind her, is sending her loving looks.
I look back to Shawn – and experience a little surprise.
Shawn's mouth's still staying open, and I can't but thank myself, that I've decided to wear the other outfit – the one Shawn didn't advice me to (even though I interpreted his words as a kind of advice.).
My outfit?
It's a red (relatively) short skirt with with silver ad-ons like little snow-flakes, a snow-man and christmas-trees. My hair has been finally and exceptionally been able to be styled, so now I wear not my messy knot – it's bound to the back with some curls finding it's way down out. I don't wear make-up (as usual), and I wear as jewelry a simple silver necklace.
You'all know that I'm not that kind of person that is dressed up all of the time - I feel way more comfortable in a T-Shirt and Jeans (but as I said to Shawn: Jeans is no option for tonight's dinner). But from time to time I like do wear some glamour either. It's just a question of quantity.
When I see myself now in the mirror of the hallway, I see a brunette with a glance in her eyes that is new for me. Is this really Mandy Riverdale, being in - being in love? Am I in love with Shawn Mendes?!
That's a question I will be thinking later a lot about, but for now I decide to feel amazing just the way everything is right now - with Shawn giving me those amazed looks from time to time.
