Remus
"I can't believe she said that!" Sirius huffs while sitting down for lunch, Shut up Sirius, I think rubbing my temples. Tomorrow is the full moon and everyone of my senses is extremely heightened,
"Who said what?" James asks sitting beside me,
"Gryffindor, She got a spell first in charms and Professor Flickwick complimented her, and she beamed like how Lily does. So I whispered into her ear 'You're not better than everyone else' and she turned around to face me and gave me a smirk before whispering in my ear, 'I am better than you.' Like seriously she can't be better than me," Sirius grumbles,
"Shut up Sirius, it's loud enough in here," I mumble placing my head on the table,
"Oh right sorry, it's a furry problem week," He says before talking quietly to James and Peter. sighing I start rubbing my temples hoping to help with this headache when I hear someone approaching behind me,
"Are you ok Remus? You look sick," The concerned voice of Natalia says behind me causing all the boys to look in her direction with suspicion,
"Yeah, but a cold," I shrug placing my head on the table,
"Maybe you should go to the Hospital Wing and Madam Pomfry can give you a potion. James, what's the the date?" She questions while sitting down beside me trying to catch my eyes,
"He doesn't need to go to the Hosptial Wing, and it is the 28th," James says narrowing his eyes at her,
"Wait it's the 28th already," Natalia exclaims looking at me concerned before jumping up, "Just find me if you need anything, Remus,"
"Oi Gryffindor!" Sirius yells just as she starts to rush off,
"What?" She responds turning on her heel to face him with an annoyed expression,
"You think you're better than me right?"
"Wrong I know I'm better than you," She sasses rolling her eyes with a smug smile setting on her lips, and soon a small smile plays on my mine for the first time today watching her piss off my mate,
"You're not, so let's make a competition out of this. Whoever can snog the most people by the end of the school year is better than the other. All previous songs count too," He states smugly and I feel my smile form into a frown at this,
"Oh Siri you have no idea what you just got into," She smiles sweetly, "It's a deal," Then she walks off and meets Marlene, Lily, Mary, and Alice by the door before they all disappear from sight.
"I mean mate you just looked desperate there trying to prove you're better than her, but I doubt she's going to win you've already kissed a quarter of the girls in this school," James laughs with Peter and Sirius before they start coming up with a plan of strategy on how Sirius can kiss more girls. Rolling my eyes I place my head back down on the table and try to zone out the rest of the world. I raise my head after a while and see Peter looking at me concerned while Padfoot and Prongs are in heavy planning.
"What's up Wormy," I say looking at him and waiting for him to answer why he was looking at me concerned,
"You just look worse than last month," He whispers, and I know he's right. Normally I can't feel my wolf at all during the rest of the month but he's been restless this time around,
"Yeah, Moony decided he didn't want to disappear this month," I mumble, my eyes looking over the Hall making sure no one's listening, "I think I want to get to the Sheicking Shack a little earlier just in case. You know?" Peter's eyes widen since normally I hate going there,
"Yeah ok," He says looking worriedly as we split off. James and Peter are going to Charms, Sirius Herbology, and I have Potions. Walking into the room I notice everyone is standing at the back and make my way over to everyone else.
"Why are we standing here?" I whisper to Dorcus Meadows,
"Slughorn is choosing us partners for the rest of the school year," She whispers back before making her way over to her friends. Slughorn explains how he has chosen new permanent partners, with a flick of his wand there are lists of who is partnered with who, the potion we are making for the lesson, and the homework of writing a report on said potion. My eyes scan the list before I spot my name, Natalia Gryffindor, I think before finding her at one of the middle desks looking through the groups of students, her eyes lock on mine before she flicks them to the next to her. I hold my hands up in surrender before making my way over to her.
"Well, well, well, the famous brains of the Marauders is my potions partner. Wouldn't that be perfect if his friends didn't hate me," She teases before slipping into her seat,
"You pissed off Sirius, what did you expect?" I shrug moving beside her getting my book out and opening it to the right page,
"All I did was turn him down, he made the big deal out of it!" Natalia defends with a worried smile on her face,
"Remmy you really don't look good," She whispers her eyebrows furrowing together, but my mind only catches one thing in that sentence,
"Remmy?" I question looking up from my book,
"Well your name is Remus so why not?" She shrugs,
"Does that mean I get to make a nickname for you Natalia," I respond dragging out her name a bit in a teasing way,
"If you want,"
"Ok then Lia," At the name her eyes snap to me, and the smirk resting on my lips as I look at her shocked face,
"I thought you were going to call me Nat or Talia," Lia says with a small smile forming,
"That's boring," I answer immediately,
"Geez smarty pants, go grab the ingredients. I'll make the potion and you nap,"
"What that's not - " my proest trail off seeing the glare she is sending me, "Yes Ma'am," I grab my book and walk to the storage cupboard grabbing everything she will need in one go and placing it down beside the caldron.
"Thanks, now nap." She demands, and I place my head on top of my hands knowing better than to argue with the glare she's giving me.
"Remmy, Remmy I need you to wake up," I hear a soft whisper and someone gently shaking my shoulders, slowly open my eyes to see my potions book in front of my face blocking my view of the front of the classroom. Turning my head to the side I see Lia crouched down to my eye level, her hair falling in front of her face as she looks at me with gentle pale green eyes, She looks so pretty, I quietly think to myself, before sitting up to see a veil with the potion exactly as described in the book,
"How did you -"
"I'm just that good," She smiles flipping her hair over her shoulder, "Now come on we need to give Sluggy the potion. We actually finished before Snape's group," She finishes smugly and we start making our way to the front.
"This is perfect you two! 10 points to Gryffindor each!" Professor Slughorn exclaims with a smile, "You're excused from this class," We quickly grab our stuff and scurry out of the classroom before he changes his mind.
"Thank Godric," I say when we make it back to the common room and I pretty much collapse on the couch.
"Remmy you look exhausted, you don't have any more classes for today go have a nap," Lia sighs while standing in front of me and moving some hair away from my eyes, "Your eyes are bloodshot!" She yells and then grabs my arm pulling me up from the couch and slides herself under my arm so she's holding some of my weight,
"Really I'll be fine. You don't need to worry about me," I try but she's already made her way to the bottom of the stairs. Slowly we make our way to the Marauder's dorm and I push open the door.
"It's so messy," Lia judges with a crinkled nose while scanning over the room,
"Mine's the clean bit,"
"I figured," We walk over to my truck and she slides out from under my arm and takes a few steps back, "You get changed and ready while I piss off Sirius by moving his shit around,"
"Ok just leave the posters alone," I say shutting the curtains around my bed, I quickly get changed and hope into bed in the T-shirt I normally wear to bed,
"THAT PIG!" I hear Lia scream and I can imagine her staring at the posters of pretty much naked women on the wall, hearing a huff before she comes back to my curtain, "Can I open the curtain?" She questions quietly,
"All good," Lia walks in looking a bit pissed but sits on the bed of my bed avoiding looking at Sirius' side, "Why don't you like Sirius," I burst out and she looks at me confused,
"A bit too much like me I guess, and I don't not like him he's just been an ass since I turned him down," She shrugs,
"What do you mean to much like you?" I ask confused, and she just looks out the window,
"We... I just know," She sighs changing her mind about what she's going to say,
"You're hiding something," I state trying to catch her eyes,
"Isn't everyone?" Lia says looking back at me and I feel like she's looking straight at me, the real me,
"Yeah, I guess we are," I respond breaking eye contact, and then I feel a small weight leave my bed and suddenly some of my pillows are yanked from behind me, leaving me with the one I normally sleep with. I look up at her and Lia's just smiling sadly,
"Sorry to cut this chat short but Remmy you look so sick!" She huffs, "I'll bring up some dinner for you," Lia says before shutting my curtains blocking most of the light, sighing I feel my brain shut off before Natalia has left the room.
