yechan, as the maknae of the group, expects attention from his hyungs despite it being childish of him to do so.
but yechan has been starving for a certain someone's attention.
it was his oldest hyung, kim jaehan.
yechan didn't know why but every time he interacted with his hyung he always felt his stomach doing summer saults. he always felt his heart beat faster when he hears his hyung's voice and feels like he is on cloud 9 when he makes him smile or laugh with his silly jokes and comments.
yechan didn't understand it but he thought jaehan was just his favorite hyung.
that was why he wanted his attention more than the other hyungs.

"hyung" hangyeom called to which jaehan looked at him and smiled
"you're early" he said with a smile
"yeah, i'm done with rendering the song that we recorded vocals for yesterday" he said
"wahh really? good job" jaehan said as he wrapped his arms around hangyeom and pushed him down to the couch playfully as if they were wrestling
"ahhh hyung it's too early" hangyeom said with a laugh
wrong.
yechan started to realize something.
"oh? yechannie?" jaehan said as he was still holding hangyeom "you're up early as well"
"good morning hyung" yechan said monotonously
"ahh uri yechannie, slept in the wrong side of the bed?" hangyeom asked with a smirk as he tried to get away from jaehan's grip
"stop trying to distract me" jaehan said as he started tickling hangyeom while hangyeom was almost dying
yechan realized that his stomach dropped every time he saw jaehan interact with his other hyungs.
"oh uri jaehan hyung" sebin said as he leaned against the counter while drinking his coffee "you look handsome today" he teased
jaehan laughed so hard while he almost dropped his coffee "aish this idiot" jaehan said as he flicked sebin's forehead and sebin put his coffee down to hug his hyung
"but you like it hyung" sebin said playfully as he made kissy face to which jaehan laughed his ass off while not trying to push sebin away since he was dying
yechan realized that his members were almost too comfortable and touchy with each other.
especially with jaehan.
"hyung my muscle is all cramped" hwichan said as he laid his head on jaehan's lap while he laid on the couch, flipping through the channels in the tv
"did you try bathing in warm water?" jaehan asked as he instinctively pet hwichan's hair
"yeah but it still hurts" hwichan whined and jaehan chuckled a little while still petting his hair
"maybe you should take some medicine, or ask someone for a massage" jaehan said and hwichan looked at jaehan
"will you give me a massage hyung?" hwichan asked and jaehan laughed
"if you pay me then i will"
"i'll buy you dinner"
"deal" jaehan said with a laugh and hwichan smiled at their successful deal
and yechan could help but get annoyed by seeing everyone interact with him this way.
yechan knew this was normal and they were all close enough to make jokes and be touchy with each other.
but something about it just made yechan's blood boil.
"and i don't get it at all" yechan ranted as he laid back in his chair while looking at his hyung for his opinion
kevin looked at the maknae only to start laughing which made yechan look at him in confusion
"hyung it's not funny"
"i know, i know.. it's just- i can't believe how dense you are sometimes" he said as he giggled
"dense?" yechan asked in confusion, almost taking offense in it
"you clearly like jaehan hyung"
now kevin had done it, yechan looked at him in disbelief.
"like?? well of course i like hyung, everyone does"
kevin laughed again "you like him in a different way"
to which yechan paused as he looked at him confused but he knew what he felt.
his heart was beating fast, he felt like he somehow got caught red handed even though he didn't even know what kevin exactly meant.
kevin simply smirked at his maknae's reaction
"why don't you start hanging out with your favorite hyung?" he asked
kevin couldn't help but feel so entertained by the drama that is happening in front of him. who would have thought these two will go beyond their actual BL drama?
yechan nodded curtly as he fell into silence as he heard taedong coming into their room as kevin and taedong started chatting.
maybe yechan should take kevin hyung's advice.

he'd had been to jaehan's room a million times, but he feels awfully nervous and flustered at the moment.

yechan jumped as he looked at jaehan in front of him, looking at him with his wide adorable eyes.
'adorable?'
"h-hyung"
"what are you doing here in front of my room?" he asked "do you need anything?"
yechan's heart was beating faster than ever as he tried to come up with anything but all he could do was stare at his hyung's curious eyes.
'he looks so.. pretty..'
"are you okay, yechan-ah?" jaehan asked, his expression immediately changing into a worried one as he eyed the maknae
yechan nodded instantly as he still looked at his hyung without saying a word.
jaehan could clearly see that something was wrong, he had never seen yechan like this.
visibly nervous, his cheeks red and hesitant.
jaehan looked at him one last time before opening his door wider
"come in yechan-ah" he said with a smile "i was gonna get ice cream from the freezer actually" he said
yechan nodded as he stepped into his hyung's room.
jaehan quickly pushed him into his bed "stay here, i'll get ice cream for the both of us"
yechan blushed a little as he nodded as he was then left along in his hyung's room.
he tried to calm himself down as he looked around the room. the room was dim since the curtains were closed and the air con was on.
soon jaehan returned to his room with two cups of ice cream in his hand as he shut his door.
"here you go" he said as he handed yechan the ice cream while he sat next to him in his bed
"thanks, hyung" he said quietly before eating the ice cream.
jaehan stared at his maknae more, finding it even more weird at how quiet he is.
"so, what's up?" jaehan asked as he ate a spoonful of his ice cream
yechan's head turned to his hyung as he paused, trying to think of something.
"nothing much" he said, trying to sound casual
"doesn't sound like it, tell me yechan-ah" jaehan said "what happened?"
yechan's chest was beating loud at this point as he looked away while continuing to eat his ice cream.
jaehan stared at him expecting an answer and yechan trying his best to say anything at all to his hyung.
"i've been feeling.. weird lately"
yechan mentally cursed at himself for even saying that to his hyung- of course he's gonna need an explanation over that statement.
jaehan paused as he nodded "how so?"
yechan sighed "well.. i don't know" he said "uh.. the members-"
"the members? is anyone troubling you?"
"no- not at all- i don't know how to say it"
jaehan looked at his maknae in slight confusion and curiosity. it had to do with his members? now it's a real problem that he had to involve himself in.
"yechan-ah, you can tell me anything, you know that right?" jaehan asked with a gentle smile
yechan looked away as he nodded, blushing a little.
"you don't have to force yourself to say it to me- but if it's about the members then you should definitely try to resolve it" he said "we are a group, but we're also a family- we live with each other after all"
yechan only nodded at his hyung's statement
"it's not about the members- it's just.. i've been feeling weird lately" he said
jaehan paused "what exactly are you feeling?"
baam. the question yechan did not want to hear.

"i've been.." yechan paused as he tried to make up a lie in his head but couldn't do anything
".. feeling a lot of things" he said as he looked away "that i'm not supposed to"
jaehan raised his eyebrow at that "well you are allowed to feel anything yechan-ah, you don't have to invalidate it and tell yourself it's wrong-"
"-but it is wrong" yechan argued as he looked at his hyung forgetting about the fact that he was revealing things that he isn't supposed to.
"it's wrong for me to feel this way- it's only going to make it worse.. kevin hyung told me what it was and i.. i don't want to believe it-"
jaehan looked at him slightly confused by everything his maknae just spilled now. kevin knew about this before him? well yechan was comfortable with kevin he guesses.
jaehan gently patted the maknae as he looked at his distressed expression, this must have bothered yechan so much.
"what did kevin say?" jaehan asked
yechan flinched at that as he couldn't say a thing.
"i-i shouldn't tell you.."
jaehan paused "why?"
"because it'll ruin everything"
jaehan looked at him surprised, so it was about him all along? was yechan's problem revolving around him? is that way he was helplessly standing in front of his door?
jaehan thought over everything he did in the past week and how it could have hurt yechan somehow.
nothing, everything seemed normal to him.
jaehan paused, not wanting to force the younger boy. he gently raised his hand to ruffle his hair.
"i promise you nothing will be ruined if you tell me" he said as he smiled "and i also apologize if i did something- i'll make it up to you"
yechan stared at him hyung as he somehow felt calm under his touch. he liked how he gently played with his hair.
he had always been gentle with him.
"you're my favorite hyung"
jaehan looked taken aback as he smiled a little "really?"
"yeah- and that's why i.." yechan started as he paused before looking away "that's why i feel this way"
jaehan looked at him curiously now, wondering what the maknae was talking about.
"i.. it's complicated" he said as he looked away "but every time i looked at you.. with.. another member- i just feel.." yechan swallowed "..weird"
jaehan was taken aback by that statement as he quickly understood where this was going. but he didn't say anything as he let yechan continue.
"and i talked to kevin hyung about it because he noticed it first and asked be about it- and he told me that.."
"that you liked me?" jaehan asked
yechan jumped as he looked at his hyung with his eyes widened as he blushed furiously. jaehan couldn't help but chuckle at this reaction.
"it's quite obviously now that you put it that way" jaehan said with a smile "were you jealous of your other hyungs because they were close with me?" jaehan asked in a more teasing tone
yechan couldn't do anything but blush as he nodded.
and jaehan couldn't help but feel butterflies inside of him as the maknae confirmed it.
"well, see? nothing was ruined" jaehan said as he looked at yechan to which he looked back at him
"you think i'm stupid now"
"no i don't"
"yes you do"
"why would i think that?"
"because-"
"i like it though" jaehan admitted with a little smirk.
and that might have just killed yechan as he tried his best to not scream at what his hyung just said.
jaehan smiled a little as he raised his hand to pet the maknae's hair again.
"so, do you wanna go out tomorrow?" jaehan asked to which yechan looked at him as his eyes widened as he quickly nodded
"yeah" he said, still processing everything that just happened
"all good then" jaehan said as he scooted closer to him "we'll get to spend more time with each other and you won't be jealous of your hyungs"
yechan's heart beat rose as he nodded with a little smile "i guess"
"see this is why i'm the leader, i'm so good at problem solving" jaehan quickly joked to which yechan laughed
"wow hyung don't be so full of yourself" yechan said playfully as jaehan laughed
"what? i am though"
"a good leader?"
"and your favorite hyung"
yechan laughed as he gently hit his hyung to which he laughed along with him, as they continued to spend the rest of the day with each other.
which was exactly what yechan needed to dissolve his jealousy.
