the flashing lights of the camera was never something hazel could get use to but they anticipated . the light yellow feathered gown consumed their body but they felt beautiful. they admired themselves in the mirror, they didn't notice the eyes on them.
dominic slowly creeped up behind them wrapping his arms around their midsection as he rested his head on their shoulder. "you look so beautiful, hazelcore" he complimented and they smiled as they made eye contact through the mirror. they mouthed a thank you.
hazel was so nervous but having him by their side meant everything to them. "i am so proud of you" dominic assured before pressing a kiss on their cheek. hazel felt like tears were going to form in their eyes but they didn't wanna ruin their makeup so they took a deep breath.
"don't cry on me, i don't want you crying this way" the man joked causing hazel to laugh shimmying in his hold "bro get off me" they joked in between their broken laughter and dom smiled before letting them go.
the beauty hazel exuded didn't help dominic's desire to remove all their clothing and worship them for the entire night but before he could pull them into a kiss, the two heard a knock on their door.
it was violet, hazel's manager. violet was a gentle and kind black woman in her early 40s. she had found hazel when they were barely a teenager. hazel's family history was complicated so to have a good maternal figure in their life, violet was sacred to them.
"sweetheart, everyones out there waiting on you" violet said smiling widely, she was so excited for them. hazel swiftly headed towards the woman and the two interlocked fingers. "how are you feeling, you okay ?" violet asked and hazel nodded before taking a deep breath.
"good good, the cars out here waiting for you. you got everything" violet questioned and hazel looked around but nothing else they needed came to mind. "take care of my baby" dominic said, he was sitting on the edge of the bed now watching two exchange words.
hazel turned confusion written over their face "wait are you not coming with me?" they asked and he shook his head no "i'll be right behind you, i'm taking my car" he responded and hazel began to protest "no you can't, i want you to come with. please" they pleased and he was never gonna say no to them.
dominic stood up taking their hand and the two of them headed to the premiere.
